Here it was, just another day, or at least that is what it should have been. But Kevala's work was never done. Instead of taking the day off from training and all her other shit she had to do, she was using this time to get in touch with a friend she had not seen in some time.
Drea....
She had not seen the girl since the day the twins were born and given that Katsuri's letter had said to take care of her, she felt that she needed to at least try. So sitting in her living room she would grab her cell phone, sliding it open and punching out a quick text message...
Yes, she had a plan, something she should probably not be excited about, but was just the same.
A lot of things had happened in the time since she had seen the girl and she needed to make sure of a few things.
Pushing herself up to stand she would head upstairs to her room, punching in the code for the door and going in to check on Aiden and Kazumi.
Seeing that they were sound asleep, she would reach over, turning on their monitors and grabbing the recievers.
Leaving to her own room she would change into a pair of black excercise pants and a white tank to. Pulling her hair back into a ponytail and then heading out once more. Heading out into the rest of the house to make a quick call to the security guard at the gate.
Yes Ma'am.
"A young woman by the name of Drea will be coming. When she arrives allow her access onto the property and direct her to the back of the house."
Of course Ms. Astaku
She hung up the phone, grabbed the baby monitors and headed out into the back of the house. It was nothing special, just a large cleared circle for one purpose, training. On the occassion that she wanted to do so outside. She would set the monitors down and then move to take a seat on one of the chairs that belonged to the patio set she had set up on the porch.
Now it was just a matter of waiting. Not that she minded the silence of the place. It was not often she got to enjoy the peace and quiet anymore.
Not unless she got to go to her studio. Which lately was not often.

Drea had been running around - busy as ever - when she'd gotten Kevala's text message.
At once, Drea felt a wave of guilt wash over her. She hadn't seen Kevala in quite some time. Not since the triplets had become twins. The thought evoked a twinge of pain.
She'd been avoiding them, almost. But still... They should at least meet their mother's friend. And... Well, she needed to go say hello to Kevala as well. Sadness had evolved into avoidance, and that might as well be stopped now.
Still, the message called for comfortable and casual clothing... Drea immediately realized they'd probably be sparring. Katsuri had been gone for quite some time as well... Perhaps it had something to do with that?
Drea immediately prepared herself to head out. Ten minutes in and she'd headed out the door. Another fifteen and she'd made it to Kevala's. They didn't live too far apart, but her parents would've had a fit if she didn't have some way of getting to them quickly. A change of clothes - just in case - was in the bag.
At the gate, she nodded to security. "It's Drea," she told them before being buzzed in.
"Please head to the back, miss." the man said. She nodded at him. Once inside, she vacated the limousine and headed around until she saw her friend.
"Kevala," she said the name quietly in greeting.

Icy hues shifted up to the sound of a familiar tone. A smile spreading across her features. As she rose to stand it was more than apparent that she had changed greatly since that day in the hospital. Her hair was not brown, her for a bit more lean and trimmed. That of a woman who had been working to get this way very hard. Her hands were cut up and bruised slightly, and all in all she had a more mature and determined manner about her.
She smiled, of course, moving to offer Drea a hug before stepping back and looking over her.
"You look good. It has been far too long."
She would then motion to take a seat across from where she had been seated. First they would talk. She did want to know what had been going on and answer any questions that could surface regarding Katsuri or the twins.
If the girl took her seat she would return to her own. Her hands coming up to rest upon her lap as she leaned back in her chair.
"So, tell me, how have you been? I have missed talking to you. Things have been so crazy around here lately."
She rolled her eyes, laughing lightly as she settled her eyes upon her friend. Waiting now for her to speak before she would continue.

Drea felt her heart twist as she caught sight of her friend. Kevala.... She looked far more contained and far more restrained then before... And she looked older. Not in image, certainly, but each aspect of her body that revealed the strain and effort that she'd suffered through only hinted more towards the mental maturing the girl had done.
"You look good. It has been far too long."
Drea nodded, before moving forward to sit across from Kevala. "You've grown," she said, knowing that Kevala would understand she was speaking about her mental growth instead of her physical height.
"So, tell me, how have you been? I have missed talking to you. Things have been so crazy around here lately."
"I've been okay. I could be better, could be worse... But I'm okay. I've been training with Emily and Mitsukai... And I even got into a fight with some pink-haired boy." Drea looked down. "I'm sorry I didn't come to see you. I couldn't bring myself to face you after losing..." She trailed off, unable to speak the words as her throat caught.
She knew she wasn't responsible for the baby's death, but that didn't soften the blow any. She should've found Katsuri. Kevala could've used any support, and Drea hadn't even been able to do that. She'd been entirely useless.
"Anyways," she cleared her throat, "How about you...?"

She listened. Yes she had matured. But then when you had your life completely torn apart and turned upside down, it tended to happen.
Letting a soft sigh pass from her lips she would shake her head. She knew the girl was upset about Katiana's death. But there was nothing anyone could have done. It was something that had happened. Sad as it was, as much as it tore Kev's world apart, it was nothing that could be changed.
"I have been doing alright I suppose. Things have changed. I will admit that. I do not know if you have heard, but Katsuri returned to leave a note upon my bed. Telling me to move on that he was leaving and knew not if he would ever return. "
Pain filled her eyes, followed quickly by anger.
"He never even tried to see the twins. He simply left the note and turned and walked away. Assuming he was man enough to bring the note himself. For all I know he paid the staff to do so when I was sleeping."
She snorted lightly. The thought of him doing something so cowardly had never crossed her mind before, but now, after his actions against her and the children, she saw him nowhere near as much a man as he had once been..
"In the note he told me to watch over you and Mitsu. So, I shall. Because you are my friend even if you do not wish to be around me because of the pain you feel.
I have also started training with Sky Dalten. Have gotten protection from the Sudeki clan, and am currently in the beginning stages of a relationship with Spike Sudeki. He is younger than myself but, he is kind and he seems to care for me."
Her eyes seeming to light up at the mention of his name. It was too soon to tell if they would really become anything. But she was hopeful just the same.

Drea started as Kevala sighed, surprised. Kevala.... must have truly grown. To sigh meant to mature - it was something those with regrets and worry did... And it was only now that Drea realized that Kevala must have truly been through the rough and tumble part of life.
Her friend began to speak.
"I have been doing alright I suppose. Things have changed. I will admit that. I do not know if you have heard, but Katsuri returned to leave a note upon my bed. Telling me to move on that he was leaving and knew not if he would ever return. He never even tried to see the twins. He simply left the note and turned and walked away. Assuming he was man enough to bring the note himself. For all I know he paid the staff to do so when I was sleeping."
Drea stared, shocked. Katsuri had, it seemed, gotten into contact with Kevala, but he'd done it indirectly. How... odd. It didn't seem like Katsuri in the least. She was positive that something was happening beyond what they could see.
But... Kevala's reaction to it startled her even more. Kevala was truly angry with him. To be so bitter in her speech and so angry in her expression...
Drea didn't know what to say.
"In the note he told me to watch over you and Mitsu. So, I shall. Because you are my friend even if you do not wish to be around me because of the pain you feel." Kevala continued speaking.
Drea nodded. "It goes both ways," she said quietly, feeling a stab of guilt.
"I have also started training with Sky Dalten. Have gotten protection from the Sudeki clan, and am currently in the beginning stages of a relationship with Spike Sudeki. He is younger than myself but, he is kind and he seems to care for me."
At that, Drea had several questions.
"Sky Dalten? Spike Sudeki...?" They were names she didn't know. But... Kevala was entering another relationship...? So soon after Katsuri. To Drea, it felt a bit like a rebound, but she kept it to herself. After all, some rebounds had evolved into the best of relationships.
She made a mental note to look into the Sudeki clan. Sky Dalten was an entirely knew name. Where she'd heard of the Sudeki name in passing, she'd never once heard of the Dalten name - it was odd.
"Who are they?"
Dalten... Dalten was probably fresh blood. Or at least, that's what she thought. She'd no notion of who he was, and for someone that had looked over the school directory, that was fairly impressive.

Kev had grown, and it was not that she did so by choice but simply due to the circumstances of her life.
As Drea spoke, asking her questions, Kev's face seemed to light up. Yes, it did seem like a bit of a rebound to be with Spike so soon after Katsu had up and left her. But they were taking things very slow and it was playing out well. Or at least she felt that it was.
"Well, Spike is the son of Leon Sudeki. I am sure you have met him. Big guy, blond hair. Sometimes turns into this tiny little thing that would make the hardest criminal die laughing?"
She laughed. Yes, the chibi Leon. She had seen him once and it had surprised her to say the least. But then Spike had done the same thing when she had gotten angry at him at the hospital and so had his grandfather.
It was so CUTE!! Though she knew those little things were dangerous if they truely wanted to be. So distracting in their cuteness and all.
But yeah, beside the point!
"As for Sky, he is a new student to the school. He has been offering to train several people and so I had asked him for his help. He is very effective in his methods."
She nodded, pausing there for appropriate reaction time. Hehe

"Well, Spike is the son of Leon Sudeki. I am sure you have met him. Big guy, blond hair. Sometimes turns into this tiny little thing that would make the hardest criminal die laughing?"
Drea blinked. "I may have seen Leon once before with David Blaze, but I don't think I've seen him change forms..."
But beyond that, she was satisfied. At least, it seemed that Kevala was content - if not happy - with him. And that, above everything else, was important and good.
"As for Sky, he is a new student to the school. He has been offering to train several people and so I had asked him for his help. He is very effective in his methods."
Immediately, Drea's eyes narrowed and her brows furrowed, a her line thinning to a line.
"Be careful." She spoke firmly. "Any newcomers, especially those with such obvious offers? They're dangerous."
She didn't really know what to say. The whole set up stank of deceit and damnation. She didn't know what was happening behind the scenes, or even what the man's purpose was, but she certainly didn't trust it.
At all.

She had to catch herself before letting it slip that she trusted Sky. It would have seemed a bit odd and she could not afford such a thing. Instead she would nod and then let her eyes fall upon those of Drea.
"I am being careful. I simply needed to train and he was there. Also, I am working with David Blaze so I think I have it pretty well covered. Not to mention I think that Spike or Leon would stop something really bad from happening."
She would smile reassuringly. She knew that Sky may hurt her during training, but that in the end he would not do damage to her for any other reason.
But she again could say none of this. Her tongue brushing over her lips lightly she would nod to the cleared area.
"So, up for a little friendly spar?"
Grinning as she watched the girl carefully.
"Afterward I can take you up to see the twins if you like?"

"I am being careful. I simply needed to train and he was there. Also, I am working with David Blaze so I think I have it pretty well covered. Not to mention I think that Spike or Leon would stop something really bad from happening."
Immediately, Drea relaxed. David was strong. And he, despite swearing his allegiance to her sister, would still be protective of those he knew as well and good. At least, she hoped he would... But still, it seemed that Leon and Spike were strong enough to keep anything bad from happening. At least, Kevala seemed to think so.
"So, up for a little friendly spar?" Drea was startled from her thoughts by the question.
"Eh?" she'd dumbly said, looking up. She glanced in the direction Kevala indicated.
"Afterward I can take you up to see the twins if you like?"
Drea nodded, catching up to what was going on. "Of course," she said smoothly, getting to her feet. She observed as Kevala got to hers.

She would rise to her feet and would nod softly. Moving away from the girl and into the center of the ring. She was sure that she would most likely loose. Only because (her mun) she was lazy. She trained yes, and when she did, it was always intense. But for some reason she just forgot to do it as often as she needed. Heh
So she as not as strong as she could be. Settling into the middle of the area, she would balance herself and then let her hands come up to her sides, each one balling up as she waited now. Only moving to place her right leg slightly forward, her body now turned at an angle toward the girl.
(Sorry short, but it is just a spar sooo fight threads are usually small I have heard. Lol )

Drea watched as Kevala got into a basic stance. She nodded in acknowledgment, and moved until she was roughly two meters away from the girl - just out of range - and fell into a stance of her own. Her arms were held at the level of her chest, and her legs were spread squarely, one behind the other.
"Any rules?" she asked curiously.
(And yes. >__< Fight/spar threads are very short with short posts. XD)

"Yeah, no killing each other. Oh and no Qi." She would laugh softly and then ready herself to strike. She would advance forward, her left leg coming up to kick at the girls side. If it connected or if it was blocked, her leg would come down again, this time her right arm shooting out in an attempt to catch the other girl in the face.
She was not sure either would work, but she would then bounce back. Staying light on her feet, controlling her breathing and letting her eyes focus on the girl.

"Yeah, no killing each other. Oh and no Qi," Kevala said as she advanced. The other girl moved to kick her in the side - but it would fail. Having practiced so frequently with Mitsukai and her sister, she'd gotten in some amount of expectation on what to expect from opponents and whatnot... Particularly of their bodies.
Kevala would still be weak from her time with the children, and Drea planned to take full advantage of that. After all, the sooner the fight ended, the sooner she'd get to see them.
"Of course," she said politely to the other girl, before jerking the girl's leg away from her. If the punch came, she'd dodge slightly to the side, and the lack of balance from her part would be balanced by Kevala's leg, which she would still hold, and she'd simply yank to tumble the other girl.
Once the girl fell, Drea would flip away, once more out of range.

Yep, she was gonna get her ass kicked again. But oh well, her leg being caught she would feel the girl pull her to tumble over. Which was fine. But then Drea attempted to flip out of range.
Kev's hand shooting out and grasping onto the girls right wrist as she did so.
Her other leg, the one that had not just been yanked, coming up and aiming to kick the girl in the chest. She would then release her and roll her body out of the way, trying to find her way back to her feet.
