Emotions Run High (Mitsukai/Open)

[Kevala Badoer]

Kevala had not been just the slightest bit off lately. The only time she even came close to acting like herself was when Spike was around. He made her so happy, and for the most part they were seeming to get along really well. She did not know where things were going with him, but they were going somewhere, she was sure.

Yet still, something clearly was on her mind. But she had done good to keep it to herself.

Heading down the stairs, dressed in her shorts and a t-shirt. But something had changed here, it was not Katsu's shirt she now wore. Though it clearly was not her own. No, this one, belonged to Spike. She had forced him to leave it the last time he spent the night. Making him go home shirtless.. hehe.

She had actually, somewhere along the way, gotten over Katsu. Sure, she still hurt to think of him to an extent. But it was more for the sake of Aiden and Kazumi that she did so. For herself, life had never been better. At least as of late.

Sure there was the matter of Sky, but all in all, she was happy. If she could just shake that then she would be good. But so long as nobody noticed it would be okay.

Moving into the living room she would move to pick up a few things that she had left laying around. Just simply trying to be normal for the day.

[Mitsukai]

"Hey." Mitsukai greeted Kevala as she stuck her head out into the living room. She entered the room wearing a loose black T-shirt and some shorts that she normally wore in the house. Though she was not the type of girl to show off much skin it didn't matter to so much at home so long as there was no guy around the house. They were comfortable at least and since she had just got back from training half an hour ago she could use the comfort. She liked to train but it did tire the girl out.

Mitsukai looked her friend over for a minute frowning. She could tell that something was on the other girl's mind though only a small hint of it showed she knew Kev well enough to spot it. It had been a while since they had actually spoken with each other since they both became pillars. Mitsukai had been so busy training with Matrim and Sara that she had not spoken with Kevala much during this time. Now at least she had settled into the routine now and was managing her time better. Now would be a great time to make up for the neglect.

"Did you talk with Sky yet?" She asked casually. She had a small idea of what Kevala was thinking about. After all they both had to break their training from the man. Possibly break off any form of relationship with him since they took up Matrim's offer. It had been a simple thing for Mitsukai to do. She had not been with Sky long enough to feel much of anything for him, switching sides had been very easy and he did not seem to care. But Kev on the other hand had been with the man longer then Mitsukai had and seemed in a strange way attached to him. It would be harder on the girl to leave. It would only be natural that that was what was going on in her head.

She had continued to work about the room as Mitsu came in, but it was only when the question was posed, she would stop and let her head lower softly. Nodding a bit as she drew in a deep breath.

"Yes, I spoke with him."

She would hold back a whimper, her hand coming to run over the shirt she wore. Memories of Spike filling her mind and helping to ease the pain of the current thoughts. She really did think she was falling for him. He was amazing. A little lazy, and near impossible to keep fed, but still. She had liked him since they day they met, and he always seemed to surprise her, doing little things to make her smile.

But gods forbid he she got mad at him. Then he just turned into the chibi Spike and that was so hard to stay mad at.

Shaking her head, she would bring herself back to the situation at hand.

"He...was not happy. I am afraid he will not have anything to do with me now."

More pain in her tone than there should have been.

[Mitsukai]

"Yes, I spoke with him."

It was obvious that Mitsukai had struck a cord with that question. Kevala's response held just a hint of sadness to it as she ran a hand down the shirt she was wearing. So Mitsukai was right. She was upset about Sky but why? Had he done something to her? Her eyes scanned Kev for a minute....no nothing physical at least. She didn't look scared either so it did not seem as if he had threatened her or something so the situation ran much deeper then that.

"He...was not happy. I am afraid he will not have anything to do with me now."

"Did you.....like him?" she asked a bit bluntly without meaning to. The way Mitsukai saw it Kevala would not care so much about Sky's reaction to her leaving unless she had some sort of feelings for the man. The few times she had seen them interacting she saw that look in the girl's eyes that was vaguely like the way she looked at Katsuri. It was faint but it was there, at least she had moved on but her choice in men was undoubtedly....interesting.

She would wince slightly at the words. She had hoped not to be so obvious in her affections but then the girl before her was undoubtedly her best friend soooo yeah...it was not that shocking when she picked up on it.

"I....I found myself caring for him deeply. Though it was more like, being drawn to him. I do not know how to explain it. No matter the wrong he has done toward me, ever since the first day I met him, I have felt like there was a pull there. Some unseen force pulling me to him."

She would sigh, shaking her head as her looked to her friend once more, biting her lower lip for a moment.

"It is so hard to explain. I mean, yes, I would have followed him to the end and back if he wished. But I care for Spike. I want to be with Spike. He is the one who holds my true affection.

But there was something with Sky that I could not deny any longer. I was forced to tell him....

That is why I have chosen to train with Matrim. I feel that being around Sky when I know he will never really see me as anything more than some pawn or some fighter would be a mistake."

She shook her head. No longer hiding the hurt that filled her. She knew she could never be with him, his heart was with another, as was her own. But she would have liked to at least remain friends with him. But as it stood, that did not seem possible.

She nodded in understanding. Sky had this natural charisma about him that would draw people in like moths to a flame. Like most natural born leaders that was what made him good in manipulation. There was no doubt in Mitsukai's mind that that was what drew her in. Thankfully Mitsukai was aware of this, it had been her stubbornness to not just become another tool that saved herself from getting in too deep with the man.

"It is so hard to explain. I mean, yes, I would have followed him to the end and back if he wished. But I care for Spike. I want to be with Spike. He is the one who holds my true affection.

But there was something with Sky that I could not deny any longer. I was forced to tell him....

That is why I have chosen to train with Matrim. I feel that being around Sky when I know he will never really see me as anything more than some pawn or some fighter would be a mistake."

Mitsukai gave a heavy sigh. She understood what she was saying and knew that what had occurred in Kevala's confrontation with Sky had to be tough on her. She was very loyal to the man and it pained her to leave but in her mind. To stop things from escalating out of control she had done what she must though it would hurt her in the end.

"Sky is not worth it." She said honestly. "I know you were loyal to him, and I know somewhere deep down you liked him but its true. All we could ever be to that man is his pawns. He only thinks about gaining power. I am not judging him. I am the last person to pass down judgment on anyone but all I know is that in the end the ones to suffer would have been us had we stayed." She would place a comforting hand on Kev's shoulder as she spoke. "You did the right thing. I know it is hard but in the long run it was for the greater good and I am glad you dealt with it now before you got in too deep to pull out."

She would smile as she felt that hand on her shoulder. Nodding to the words spoken and letting a little sigh pass from her lips.

"I know I did the right thing. But it is hard because I would have done anything for that damn man."

She growled softly to herself, thinking over the whole situation. He had thought her to be so loyal due to not being her own person. But in the end it had not been that at all. No, it had been that she really did trust him and would have willingly done anything he asked out of her own desire to do so.

That was her being herself, being her own person. She was just made that way she supposed. She desired to do things for those she cared for. It was what made her feel happy.

Partly because she was not good at much else. Everyone was good at fighting and using their Qi's and what not. Kevala was charming and alluring and kind. She was able to give. That was what made her special.

Shaking her head she would nod, her mind drifting to happier thoughts.

"Yes, I am happy with my choice. I do not like betraying Sky, but in the end, if forced to choose between the two. I would have chosen Spike.

It is silly to have such feelings for a man who will never come close to returning them..And though the feelings are there, what I feel for Spike is stronger.

Much stronger."

She would run her hand over the shirt once more. The male's scent still clinging to the fabric.

"How did your meeting with Sky go?"

Mitsukai smiled at Kevala's response. It was good to see her looking at the bigger picture. Sure she will feel bad about what happened between her and Sky but like with Katsuri she would move on. She just hoped Spike would not turn out to be a bad guy. She never met the man personally. She had only heard some things here and there from Kev. So long as she was happy Mitsukai did not mind them dating.

"How did your meeting with Sky go?"

Mitsukai chuckled in response. "He didn't seem to mind me ditching him. We weren't very close anyway.....not like we ever would be of course." She said brushing the topic away like it was no big deal. She was still thankful that she had the knowledge to not trust the man too well or things would have been that much more difficult.

Kevala nodded softly as she listened. Though she could not help but raise her brow slightly as she heard how Sky had reacted to Mitsu leaving.

"He..He did not get angry with you? No venom in his tone? No, shutting down and turning cold against you?"

Surely there was something, for when Kevala had mentioned the title and Matrim's name, Sky had completely changed. He had gone from slightly drunk and happy to cold and careless in no time flat.

It had been enough to draw a whimper from Kevala, which is hard to do for most. But he had.

(OOC: Bah! Short post! Pain meds kicked in just this second. Gotta give my brain time to work through the haze Lol <33 sorries!! )

"He..He did not get angry with you? No venom in his tone? No, shutting down and turning cold against you?"

She raised an eyebrow at this, she could only wonder exactly how pissed he was to hear what Kevala had to say to him then.

"No he didn't, all I said was that I found a new trainer and I didn't need him anymore....he shrugged it off like it didn't matter and left."

"Guess its because I wasn't close to him anyway, that was probably why he didn't care."

She really did not know what to think at this moment. He had gotten so.....well not really mad, but if looks could have killed, or his tone...she would have died right there.

Why had he made such a show of anger at her words and not Mitsu's?

Oh! She knew what it was!

She was very observant and had been taking notes on his expressions for some time now. He was very good at trying to hide them, but then, she was an empath, she could sense emotion from a person. Despite how well he tried to hide it, she could feel it.

He had probably been angered at Mitsu's leaving as well but without the ability to sense such from him it would have appeared that he was fine with it.

"Yes, well I am sure that it will work out good for both of us in the end. At least that is what I am hoping for."

She would smile and then draw in a deep breath. Looking about the room for a moment.

"So, what are you going to be doing today?"

"So, what are you going to be doing today?"

Mitsukai shrugged. "I am finished with my training today so I was thinking maybe I would just relax for the time being." she answered. "Unless of course you have something else in mind?" she grinned at her friend. Things were starting to get back to normal at least. Once they could get the whole Sky fiasco behind them they could finally have a fresh start in life. For now at least they had to do something to forget about it.

She shrugged softly, a grin curling on her lips as she thought over the things that they could do. All in all, Kev felt it was time to stop being so freaking serious and have a little fun. Stop acting like people two times their age and act like the teenagers they were.

"I was thinking. Girls night. Perhaps call Drea and see if she wants to join in. You know, video games, scary movies, male bashing, gossip, the whole nine yards.

Spike will not be by tonight and neither one of us has anything else to do. We can chill up in my suite. I have all that one could possible want or need to have fun."

She even thought of ordering pizza, but she worried if she did, she would have Leon and Spike here in an instant. Those two had a radar for pizza like you would not believe.

But then, it would be fine she was sure.

"I am thinking pizza for dinner and every other kind of junkfood we can stand for later?"

[Mitsukai]

Mitsukai smiled. "Sounds like a plan to me. I have some horror movies in my room and I can get my cell to call Drea while I am there." She would head towards her suite feeling much better about the situation. It had been awhile since the girls had hung out together, it would be fun just to sit back and relax for a little while.

She would nod and smile.

"Sure you do that and I will put in the order for the pizza"

She would then turn as Mitsu took off upstairs and grab up the land line. Scanning down the list of emergency numbers, yes, the pizza place was there....and thend dialing.

As they answered she would put in a request for 2 pepperoni, 2 cheese, 1 surpreme, and 3 Pepparoni, Italian Sausage, Mushroom, Extra cheese, and black olives.....

Why so much?

Well surely not cause she and the girls would eat that much.

No, it was because she figured what they did not eat could be kept in the fridge for the next time Spike came over. Heh. He would be in heaven.

See? Such a nice girl when she wanted to be.

The order would take a whole 20 minutes. Heh, it helped when you got pizza as much as people did in this house as of late and that you tipped REALLY well.

Now she would head into the kitchen to make sure all the other junk food of choice was on hand.

Ready to just chill for the rest of the night.
