Ambition, it lied subtly beneath the subconscious showing an air of stubborn notions as he contemplated his scenarios. Gabriel Seran had been at Public High School #259 for about a year and one half now. About that time when he began he vowed to himself to catch up and even surpass David Blaze. He found a small bit of pride sensing that he was nearing his goal. A small glimmer of acceptance, on top of that he had a slight shimmer of optimism sink through as he projected the future of Regalia.
He sighed pressing his black wife beater into place on his chest as he settled for the highest weights there were. The foul stench of manhood was generally too much to take, but since Gabriel began using this place again the male populace was a lot less willing to be shown up. And each morning that familiar twinkle of evergreen soap stuck. A warm smile on Gabriel's face as he recalled how much he enjoyed that familiarity.
"Soon..." He gave a small nod knowing full well he'd eventually live up to that goal he'd set out for.

"Soon what?" A familiar voice rang from behind Gabriel - it was Emily, who in her hand held a rather peculiar looking sword in hand. It shimmered of gold, but didn't seem to be made of it at all. Strange...
None the less, the girl found herself smiling. Emily had always wondered what was in the mind of this man; what he wanted to achieve, what he was willing to do for change.
Sometimes, just looking and observing wouldn't be enough to make a decent, impartial judgment about someone. After many hits and misses in her life, Emily had learned to take things a little slower in the thought that things usually resolve by itself. It only becomes a problem when it doesn't after a certain amount of time.
Emily chuckled to herself, walking closer. "Something in that mind of yours, Seran?"
Emily's green eyes shimmered with intent. Of course, it wasn't anything dark, but she had an interesting proposal for Gabriel. Though, she wanted to test something out for herself.
"... Or would you be more interested in some swordplay like good old times?"

"Soon what?"
Gabriel jumped noticeably dropping the weights he was holding onto his toes. Only to gasp out loud repressing a squeal of pain. SO he bit down on his lip hard breathing quickly to suppress the thoughts of pain.
"Gah Em you scared the shit out of me!"
Gabriel turned about with a put up smile. He had to examine the blade at her side seeing the weapon welded quite professionally. Good thing he was a trainer to many, cause he noted his handiwork on blade mastery. His smile grew wider with humor and curiosity.
"Something in that mind of yours, Seran?"
Gabriel paced about with easy going mentality, "Actually yes," He chuckled shortly, "Just my ambition acting up again, but aside from that I'm looking to getting together some people, perhaps form an 'I hate the pillars' club, we can call it MILITIA." Gabriel smiled at his little joke moving back.
"... Or would you be more interested in some swordplay like good old times?"
Gabriel smirked a bit, it'd been a long while since he'd gotten his usual trainign in with Bastille. But he supposed it'd be some good practice to go into a match against Emily.
"Sure...though I must warn you... I'm a bit rusty." He drew his own blade.... except one thing... the blade was missing. Little would she know it was a trap! >_>

Emily chuckled a bit as her old comrade jumped in surprise, the weights dropping to his toes. Though she did know that she should be worried, knowing that he was a lot stronger than herself, would be an assurance that he would be quite fine. She did mutter some sort of apology, regardless.
Then, Gabriel brought his thoughts up: "Actually yes, Just my ambition acting up again, but aside from that I'm looking to getting together some people, perhaps form an 'I hate the pillars' club, we can call it MILITIA."
Emily smiled. Yeah, it had been a while since she heard that "name" from someone else's mouth. Though, there was some pain in Emily's heart remembering how useless she had been for him. Doing nothing was twice as painful as failing in something; at least, by Emily's standard.
"Sure...though I must warn you... I'm a bit rusty."
Emily just grinned, watching as Gabriel took out a bladeless sword. Interesting. However, Emily had seen many a strange thing enough to assume that this thing might have some secrets. She would have to be a little cautious. She took out one plain metal fan from her shorts' left pocket, it wasn't as special as the other one - but one would probably assume that Emily was someone who preferred to have both her hands full.
"You? Rusty?" She laughed, assuming a defensive position. "I highly doubt that. Try me."

Gabriel smiled faintly his reactions would be rather slow at the moment purely focused upon the intent of this bout, though he was particularly interested in seeing how far Emily had grown, it had definitely been a fair amount of time since he'd even seen her in an actual fight. Worries however filled him when he'd learned she lost to Matrim, but something told him she wasn't too concerned perhaps it was the fact that the pillar title was cursed at this point. It meant nothing more than an idle of hatred.
"All right then, en guard!"
Gabriel would pounce forward the same instant a crimson blade would emerge entirely formed out of his Radiative Qi. His first slash would be from his right hand angling upwards diagonally across her body. Gabriel wouldn't let up much like he didn't let up in that chamber a few feet beneath the ground.

Emily knew what she was up against. Honestly, there were tons and tons of people around the school who always managed to not know how to keep their mouths shut. Sometimes, one would probably wonder if the phrase "walls have ears" was an understatement - which probably was.
"All right then, en guard!" He said, pouncing forward with his sword slashing diagonally from bottom left to upper right. Emily would merely evade the attack by having her other foot establish some sort of distance by stepping back. As soon as Gabriel's sword swung, Emily would take the sword in her hand and swing the sword from her side to Gabriel's open side directly at the last rib fixed to his sternum where it would pass a shock to his liver and most of his gastrointestinal tract.

Gabriel watched swiftly, he knew well enough from his last bout with Emily that a duel with her would be won decisively so the instant she evaded Gabriel's next move was already calculated to expect the counter. A slash against him was well wasted as Gabriel burst under her blade and around behind her in just a short instant.
A single breath exerted as his hand lined her arm to steady her blade down and away whilst Gabriel's own hilt though no unlit would be pressed against her throat. A small smile on his face as he stood there behind her hoping that the first bout was his because surly he would not keep up in a similar context.
"It's best you keep the box formation... didn't I teach you that?" Gabriel muttered in her ear at a breath away.

Emily was experienced enough to have the logic of "If it doesn't hit, then something bad's going to happen." stuck in her mind. Which kind of made sense to her all these months and/or years of fighting. As soon as she felt that her fan had hit through only air, it signalled to the girl to anticipate something; which made her other fan pull up to be brought by her neck, barely catching the sword that threatened to have her by the neck.
The small, ordinary metal fan would prevent this weird blade from touching her skin; exerting effort so that it would hopefully allow Emily space to slip through as she used her short stature to her advantage, pulling her head down to slip free. From here, she would again attempt to bring Hilaga to Gabriel's side.
She needed more data.
A lot more of it. "It's best you keep the box formation... didn't I teach you that?"
"Oops."

If she wanted more she'd have to work for it, dropping his body slowly Gabriel would play at his own low level. No effects of his Qi, not until she revealed a bit of her own tricks. Till he got things revealed he wouldn't play to the best of his own means, rather Gabriel would be a mystery to be uncovered.
"Oops indeed." Shifting Gabriel lashed out his blade.
The first strike would be aimed from his bottom left and streak across his right to the other corner of the box. From here he'd rely solely upon his own box formation never dropping his guard for a second. From the top right of his box Gabriel would make for a head crop, shifting his wrist so that the blade crossed to his left if undodged would decapitate Emily, or at least give her one bad headache.

Of course, Emily knew Gabriel's deviant and manipulative tendencies; Memories of 42 would have rung a bell, and in spite of that, she was quite... persistent. Why would she place someone like him in a position within Regalia?
When asked, Emily would only grin.
The thing about being short was that it was easy to evade attacks that centered upon one's head; for a person who had terrible internal injuries as a child, Emily needed that sort of thing. Lucky her, right?
Emily would merely make a small leap back to dodge the first wave of his sword; there was a lot of space, why waste energy by not utilizing whatever resources she had? Even though she had the coveted Earth Dragon coat, there would be limits to it's power, as with many items that surrounded the 259 lore.
However, this leap would make her realize that she was now leaning against a wall.
Heh. She would use that to her advantage as well. Noting the position of Gabriel's sword and the direction that the blade was facing, Emily would basically duck, avoiding the otherwise moro-like hit and let go of her left fan, allowing it to dangle safely on her wrist as her fist concentrated itself onto a point-blank range hit onto Gabriel's Symphisis Pubis; yes, that part of the pelvic bone mass that lay right on top of his bladder and prostate gland. That bone was particularly fragile, and there were few muscles to protect it, thus rendering this bone to be one of the particularly weak points of the body.
At this range, and considering Emily's speed and intellect against Gabriel's wisdom, even if he COULD react to Emily's attack, he wouldn't be able to see this coming; which could result in him profusely pissing his pants because of the pressure to his bladder, breaking the symphysis pubis, which will result in him losing the ability to stand up until he gets surgery, or even more exciting, both.
If it did the expected outcome, or even if it didn't, Emily would then jog to a safe distance away to keep an eye on his reactions and to monitor his status. Of course, despite being this way, Emily more or less found herself even more fascinated.
She noted everything in her mind.
But let's see what a dragon can do despite being born into a fragile human body.

Gabriel was the multi-fascited warrior, why else would he have become a Dragon he was built upon more than raw power, that was merely how he became "noticed" as Leon would put it, regardless of the woman's equipment it meant nothing to him. He stood there bare of the weights that would have once tied him to rely upon. Yes he feared nothing at this point not event eh fearsome Emily.
Following through with his slash there'd be a swift bang in the instant Emily leapt backwards and the same moment Gabriel crouched to the ground. His blade far enough back that it wouldn't be easily swept about which was essentially the plan. Powering down the blade now rather to project that radiation into his body and fists to use defensively and in his means offensively.
Gabriel noted the swift lunge, quick and pinpointed but he'd use that quickly, from when she'd aim it to now Gabriel was already crouched his shoulder angled so her original strike was now plotted for the back of his upper left shoulder. Coming out of the crouch Gabriel would leap forward using the shoulder to jerk up and throw loose her defenses the left palm open handed striking into her gut. Everything within 8 inches of his body would instantly feel as though it were placed in a microwave. His body would swell with power at this point glowing with a radiant blue aura.
Following through with that strike Gabriel would bring the bokken back with his right hand slamming it forward into Emily's face assuming she hadn't recoiled from the first blow.

Power. One could say, "Bah. Humbug." to that darned thing. Power was power regardless of where it came from, and honestly, Emily barely gave a damn about it. She considered Power to be something she could use to achieve her objectives, but it wasn't her purpose of living. It seems that there was only one dragon whom she could really look up to in terms of philosophy and disposition, even though they never really became allies after the Correctional Facility incident. Hearing a loud bang Emily figured something may be up out of pure instinct. Thing is about sounds, is that they more or less created a natural reflex that induced hesitance. It was a human thing; but having moved too soon to remove herself rom her lunge, Emily would merely be able to slow herself down. Thereby preventing herself from coming too close to Gabriel, and thusforth, be unhit by his open-palm strike. Of course, Emily would watch as Gabriel's body was surrounded in a blue hue of light. His Qi, perhaps? Emily grinned. Utterly fascinating. Of course, Even though Emily's own Qi was something that also projected radiant energy, it wasn't as visible as this one. Though, she did wonder what type of Radiation it was. A blue hue? Charenkov? Man, it's been a while since she took Physics class. "Limited range. Radiation? ... Could it be...?"Alpha? No. Despite being weak, Alpha radiation had a longer range, at least that's what she remembered. Beta? ... Not likely. Gamma radiation? Ultraviolet Radiation? The latter was much more likely. Emily chuckled at the thought that a person could be able to project such a thing using their own body. Another thing why Emily was--- ... A story for another time. The guess of Ultraviolet Radiation was a long-shot guess; but never the less an educated hypothesis due to the presence of a blue hue. Emily was a smart girl, and bookish enough to know such details. Her rather thick and heavy set of clothing would actually be enough protection against it, especially if she was correct on her assumptions. And thank god, she brought her medical kit today. Slipping a hand onto the Earth Dragon coat's inside pockets, she would pull out two canisters and let them roll onto the ground, where it would roll helplessly onto the ground right near Gabriel. These were just canisters, but they seemed to be empty. Maybe Emily used them somehow? "... Does your Qi give you the ability to turn into a christmas tree, Mister Seran?" She mocked, unfolding her sword to reveal that it was indeed a mere giant metal fan that was a few inches taller than herself unfolded. Lifting the fan generously and lashing it quickly against the ground, Emily would give one mighty heave, thusforth possibly creating a massive cloud of dust using the dust that had settled on the ground. This would allow her to disappear from Gabriel's sight, albeit temporarily to reposition herself. Considering that toeshoes were made to not make any noise at all, it would be quite impossible for Gabriel to figure out where she would appear next, which would be from the skies; Emily would attempt to knock Gabriel directly at his head, using the weight of her items and her own. If he had moved aside and Emily had hit the ground instead, Emily's leg would quickly lash upwards for a kick towards the side of his shins to rid of his balance. I don't pretend to be extremely good in physics, but blah. The canisters Emily dropped contained pure O2. UV light more or less generates O3, which in turn prevents the radiation from seeping through by over 97%. It eventually turns back into O2 + O1, which... will be a problem for Gabriel if this continues. I'm REALLY not sure, so if I screwed up, please forgive me? D: I blame wikipedia, google and over two hours of research. XD -dies- Questions? There's PMs and MSN, man. Sorry for the trouble, Ry. -hide-

Gabriel scoffed taking a half step back for good measure, quite reasonably he could achieve far worse ends but this was for his own self preservation. His eyes surveyed Emily's weapon of choice. Dark orbs darting to and fro as they caught her weaponized can's. 'Try and Catch me off guard!' Gabriel would think to himself bitterly dropping into a defensive position expecting the cans to burst like bombs whilst his attention still on her.
"Not likely," he'd mutter softly attention burning like a marvelous dagger as she leaped upward like an aerial missile.
But she had to have forgotten how many instances he'd fought Rem quite like this, he was a man of the aerial art, whilst Gabriel the counter, a very ground based warrior. 'Try me!'
His daring snarl quickly cut of by the click of metal escaping his throat while the collar clattered to the floor. It wouldn't take him but a second to break across the room like his own weapon evading Emily's attack completely and assailing from behind her. A hand would fire vice like around her throat burning with the intense heat regardless of what the canisters distributed the close contact inseparable from her throat should he have gotten a secure grasp. Raising his left leg his knee would jab roughly into her side several times aiming for the rib and her lower back aiming to knock her wind out.

Does it really matter if one is ground-based or otherwise? Emily considered herself a well-rounded fighter. She would willingly fight anything that challenges her; that gives her more... understanding of the human physique. Besides what science had already discovered, there was much, much more left for the next generation to figure out -- especially about the scientific nature of Qi.
This fight wasn't merely to challenge her own abilities, but to seek out Gabriel's own aces and force him to pull them out. It was the perfect information retrieval attempt, or at least as perfect enough as Emily could think up at an impromptu affair such as this.
In a blur-like flash of colours, Emily would figure that she had missed her target quite badly. Gabriel had taken off some collar of metal and managed to become quite fast. It was a fascinating thing, but Emily wouldn't allow herself to be outfancied by anyone.
A grasp on the back of her neck was successful, but unfortunately, the anatomy and physiology of the neck generally wouldn't allow him to deal much injury to her breathing. Though it DID impair some of her breathing, and certainly choked some of her jugulars - it was something she could resist. At least for the moment.
Feeling some heat from his hands, Emily realized that he had every intention of cooking her -- so of course, Emily decided it was time to return the favor. She activated her Qi swiftly, as to protect herself from Gabriel's own source of heat. What Gabriel would do at the moment is only add to Emily's own power considering the transfer of thermal energy from one object to another, of which in this case was Emily's own body (which considering the nature of her Qi made her slightly "immune" per se, though not exactly.)
Things would have also gotten interesting, as Gabriel began prodding his knee into her left ribs. As powerful (and painful) as it was, Emily's thick amounts of clothing helped lessen the blows. Deep breaths in-between hits also proved helpful, but when she began to cough, she knew she had to move quickly.
Gathering some Qi into her hands through the power of her gloves, she could further increase her hand's temperature as she grabbed Gabriel's arm and swung him forward so that he could land on his back on the ground right before Emily. Coincidentally, it was also where one canister from Emily's earlier throw rolled off to. The heat radiating from Gabriel would then ignite the already saturated amounts of oxygen and explode into a heavy burst of fire and aluminum from right under Gabriel.
No, she wasn't trying to kill him; Emily knew it would take much, much more to do that kind of damage. But the point here was to damage him enough to deplete his energy and inflict a decent amount of pain.
After all, his only ace at the moment was his radiation -- which was sadly promptly deterred by the traces of O3.
Let's see how this goes, right?

It didn't come easily bing him of course, always at the onslaughts of multiple foes even old allies, quite, he felt as though they raised up around him enemies on all sides wearing to have him destroyed and outmatched. But that was just the surface, what they had failed to realize is Gabriel's consistency for bouncing back, doubling his efforts and soon to be realize working by means of effortless extents.
The harnessed grip at his arm (most likely being the one about her neck) found the heated grip however dulled by his own Qi going at odds with it. Soon finding himself being thrown over her, which despite his superior physical capabilities he allowed to an extent. Because he wanted her to have the advantage in one moment. One moment only.
Feeling his body flip over her and rely upon successful positioning averting from the canisters, in the event he did not it'd cause the explosion to invariably effect Emily as well due to her not releasing and the closed in proximity again due to being short (not discriminating the short >_>)
Finding his footing and the subtle burn at the forearm. her undeniable grip was positioned quite well enough that he wouldn't be able to wiggle through.
"This won't last long."
Another bang and Gabriel would use that advantage of speed, leverage and strength to arch his back forward dragging Emily over his head. Of course if that'd succeeded Emily would have next to no time to react due to the incredible force of speed being sent into the canister's she'd worked so hard to use against him.
On the other side he'd lay a solid kick, super heated, though not to the full extent of her own. Still gripping the arm he'd turn across her body firing the kick relentlessly where no cloth was there to help protect her. And despite the heat on both ends her focus could potentially be wavered by direct shots to the face.
Following up the kick he'd thrust again given now they were probably in close proximity Gabriel would hold tight ignoring the heat to his right forearm remembering a time he'd seared the flesh away and it repeated that said process as congealed blood would trickle over Emily's fingers providing a slick lubricant. Gabriel would thusly throw her in the opposite direction being used much like a rag doll to slam her against the walls of this place.
