OOC: Events take place after Farren has met Kevala.
I laughed under my breath, little more than a quick breath really. 259: The Real World I thought. So much drama and tension...I had almost forgotten that high school was like this. It was kind of funny that I was able to hear everything going on above me. I was on the top floor of the school, just below the roof, 'making use' of the men's bathroom there. The window was cracked open and I had just finished washing my hands when everything started. I recognized Kevala's voice but the other two I didn't know, though from the conversation I figured it out pretty easily. This was pretty fortunate really, I'd been wanting to gather info on the families so closely tied to the school, like the Sudeki's and Katashi's.
Just a small town Southern boy trying to make his mark in a school filled with Japanese supermen.
Leaning against the window frame and eaves-dropping on the people above, I finally opened the window completely and sat on the sill, hanging a leg out the side. The cool breeze felt nice for an unusually warm day. I tilted my head back, looking up the side of the building towards the roof, trying to see if I could spot anyone. I didn't want to make my presence known just yet. The drama was just getting interesting. But I was prepared to climb out the window and up onto the roof, if need be of course.

"The Katashi's came into my home, they drug out out into the yard, and they slit my Mother and Father's throat right before my eyes."
Ouch.....no wonder the girl hated the Katashi family so much. It was not the first time Mitsukai heard such a tragic story. Between Kevala's past and even Ryu's it seemed that just about everyone in this school was either an orphan or had a tragic past. It was probably best if she never had asked but her curiosity got the better of her. Besides what was done was done nothing more she could do about it anyway.
"I'm sorry." she said honestly, she did sympathize with the girl. To lose your parents at such a young age like that had to be very tramatic. She knew how that was like unfortunately.

Okay so she WAS leaving until a strange feeling came over her. She stopped in the on the stairs leading back into the rest of the school and would raise her brow. Where the hell was that coming from? It was a nosy feeling. Like somebody had suddenly taken an interest in something.
Surely they were not talking about her up there on the roof? Nah! Mitsu would never do that.
~Are you sure?~
~Yes I am~
~Even after what Gabe did?~
Valid point to a paranoid mind. So she turned around and headed back toward the roof. Standing at the door she caught the last bit of their conversation. Apparently her family had killed Astrid's. Well that was tragic, but she had nothing to do with it damnit!
She stepped out onto the roof and eyes falling over the two girls.
"I am sorry that happened to your family. I really am. But it is not my fault. You must be able to see that. If not then I hope that one day you will."
Where was that feeling coming from?!
She looked about the roof. Somebody had to be up here. She could feel others emotions but she could not pin point their exact location. That would be something akin to a weapon and that was a no no.
No, this was simply a perfectly legit skill that some people were born with. Such as Kev.
Moving closer to the two, she would lean in, speaking softly to Mitsu as she kept her eyes out about the area.
"Somebody is near with a very curious mind. Sudden interest is pouring from them."
Mitsu knew she could feel emotions and would know what she was talking about. Kev had no clue if this person was interested in their conversation or not, but she was paranoid sooooo yeah.
Best not to try and be sneaky around somebody who constantly was thinking people were out to get her. Heh.

She was about to speak to Mitsu when that bitch showed back up. Acting as though there was something about to get her. She was paranoid as fuck apparently. Speaking to the other girl about something that Astrid did not honestly understand.
How the hell did she know if a person was interested in something?
It made no sense to her really but she said nothing, just rolled her eyes and moved to sit upon the top of the table, not speaking for the time being.
Sure Kevala had said something to her. But she did not think now would be the best time to speak her mind. Not with crazy chick here acting like the world was gonna pounce her and slit her throat at any moment. Heh.....Nah she would wait...not like she really had anything to say to the girl anyways.

Before Mitsukai could think of anything more to say to the new girl Kevala came waltzing back in, looking rather careful to say the least. Something had to have happened within the short space of time that she had left. Though what was beyond her, with Kevala one never knew for sure what was going through the woman's head.
"Somebody is near with a very curious mind. Sudden interest is pouring from them."
Mitsukai's expression became hard, those golden eyes closely resembling a feral cat's from the subtle warning. So someone was listening in on their conversation eh? Well that could not be allowed. Not when this new kid had revealed something very troubling to her. Mitsukai certainly would not appreciate it if some stranger was listening in on her if she was confiding to someone about what had happened with her family. This girl might feel the same way so Mitsukai would not tolerate this intrusion.
"We know your out there listening so why don't you show yourself before I make you." She spoke loud and clearly, her voice cold and threatening. She did not take lightly to eavesdroppers and if this stranger had any sense they'd reveal themselves to the angry girl now before she found them herself. Mitsukai would only warn them once before snapping into action.

If the three girls were as attentive as they sounded, they'd recognize the sudden appearance of a tiny laminated card shooting up into the air at the edge of the building, then gently floating down and landing on the roof. Sorry for ruining the suspense but it's my teacher's badge; I'd tossed it like a playing card out the window so it would come down above me. Just a little trick I picked up over the years. The badge was very plain, even by my standards, and merely read, Farren R. Treborn - Guidance Counselor - PHS#259 in red letters.
Just after tossing the card up I stood up on the window sill and jumped up along the building wall, gripping the roof edge in both hands. Pulling myself up so only my head stuck up from the edge, I looked around innocently and said almost comically, "Hey, sorry to interrupt, I think something of mine blew up here. Did-ja see it?"
Kevala would not be pleased to see me...

Instantly those eyes narrowed upon Farren, flashing to crimson as she turned to face him. Drawing in a deep breath she would say nothing, only watch him. The look on her face speaking of her dislike for this man.
Keeping note of the other two girls, she would cross her arms over her chest as she watched him. She did not know why he was here, but she knew that if he had taken some interest in things, then it was for no good.
He was at the bottom of all things vile and underhanded. At least in her book. Nothing would ever sway her mind, short of some act of miraculous proportions.
Question was....WHAT had caught his interest here? She was sure she was about to find out though.
(ooc: I posted to give up back some form of post order. Hehe )

She did not know how the two knew somebody was listening, nor did she know who the guy was that showed up. But she did not like the idea of somebody eavesdropping on their conversation. She would then stand, moving to stand to the other side of Mitsukai as her brow eyes fell over the man.
She was confused as hell....to say the least. Apparently he worked here at the school. As said the badge he threw up ahead of him. But really, did it matter in this place?
No, not really.
She crossed her arms over her chest and would raise her brow. Blond hair falling down into her face as she spoke.
"Mind telling us why you were listening?"
It was a valid question. One she fully expected some answer to. For now her hate of the other girl forgotten. FOR NOW. Heh

In answer to her challenge a card was thrown up onto the roof. A quick glance would give her the name of it's owner. Farren R. Treborn? A guidance counselor? Never heard of him. Yet again she paid as much attention to the staff of this school as she did with it's students....none. Maybe it was time she paid more attention. Though digging around for information that was not much of her concern would likely get her into trouble, and despite her attitude she actually preferred to avoid trouble if at all possible.
"Hey, sorry to interrupt, I think something of mine blew up here. Did-ja see it?"
Her ice cold glare would be fixed upon this Farren character. She did not care if he was a staff member or not, this man had intruded over something that was rather private and that was wrong in her book. And the fact he acted as if he had done nothing only helped to increase her agitation towards him.
She would give him a low warning growl after Astrid asked her question as if to say 'You better not lie before I come over there and let Nami carve out your heart with a rusty kitchen knife.' Hell in the mood she was in right now that just might be this man's fate.

Looking from one girl to the next, I could literally feel the hate against my skin. "Wow, seriously negative vibes up here." This was going to be a little tricker than I thought. With barely any effort I pulled myself the rest of the way up the side of the building and topped out, standing up on the edge of the roof. I bent down and picked up my badge, dusting it off, and fixing it back on the pocket of my dress shirt. I brushed off my hands and said in the same tone "It's usually more polite to do introductions before interrogating someone. I'll go first."
I pointed to my badge and said "Farren Treborn - jus' call me Farren. I'm the Guidance Counselor here, jus' got the job." I then pointed to each girl in turn and said "And you...are Astrid, Mitsukai, and...Kevala." Taking a few steps towards safety and away from the roof edge, I continued speaking and said "First lemme say I wasn't looking to be nosy. I was in the men's bathroom right below you and I could hear you out tha window. This school's built tough but sound still carries, even on a roof, ya know?"
I kept walking and came to an air conditioning unit that was bolted into the roof beams. I leaned against the cool metal and put my hands in my pockets, taking my time to try and read the angry eyes following me. "The only reason I kept listenin' was because it was interestin', for me anyway. I'm the Guidance Counselor, it's ma job to understand what's going on with the students. And you two, three if ya count Kevala there, were having a very...deep discussion. Reading files only gets you so far into understandin' people."
My face was plain but my eyes were alert. This was a volatile situation I'd ended up in. I had to be ready to move. "Sorry if I spooked anybody, didn't mean ta anger. Any more questions?"

She watched him, letting him get out what he had to say and then crossing her arms over her chest.
"Oh now don't be modest Farren. Why do you not tell them of how you and I have met before? Or how you threatened my children if I did not help you? I think they have a right to know exactly what kind of person they are dealing with."
Those crimson eyes narrowed upon him. Growling softly as she thought over their last meeting. Why Gabriel was going along with this man she would never understand. But for Gabriel she would do anything. For this man, death would come first before she helped him.
She would then turn to Mitsu, laughing softly.
"He thought I would give him information on Gabriel and Leon. When I refused, he threatened the twins. Silly man that he is."
She would cut her eyes back to him. Gods she wished he had stayed near the edge. She would have loved to have thrown him off this roof. Nothing short of Gabriel loving her would make her happier. And since she could not have that, throwing Farren from the roof was top of the list of things to do.
One day day....he would pay for his threats...she just had to be patient....though he was in the lionesses den right now....best tread carefully.

She did not like Kevala, nor did she really care for the Katashi children. But the fact remained that they were children and for the man to threaten them to get what he wanted was low. It was.......below low...it was...pathetic.
"Is this true?"
She did know that the Katashi's were liars.....so the chance that Kevala was speaking ill of this man for other reasons was likely. But she was not dumb enough to let her guard down.
Not to mention that despite his explanation he was still listening. She did not like that one bit. This would not go well...No, something was about to happen. She was just not sure what.

Mitsukai stood there in silence and listened to this guidance counselor explain himself, anger still evident in her feline eyes. It didn't really matter what his explanation was for eavesdropping on them was, she still felt that it was wrong. Though it was not her that he had really harmed it was the Astrid girl.
She had to wonder though what was his motives for being as sneaky as he had been, was he really just a little curious about the other students or was there something more sinister about his motivation to gain more information. How much information did he have on her? Or was trying to get? It would not be too surprising if he did have something on her. She was the varsity captain so it was only natural for someone to know something on her. Hell Ryu had snooped around before for information on the girl before he hunted her down for her title. Even then she never liked the idea of people knowing too much about her. Mitsukai was a very private person and preferred to keep her past a secret.
When Kevala spoke in response Mitsukai's anger only increased. She knew there was something more sinister about this bastard, now she knew to what extent he would go for information. Why was he looking for information on Gabriel and Leon? Mitsukai did not know much on Leon she had only met the teacher once since coming to this school. She still did not know that much about Gabriel either, he had at one point been her trainer but that had not last and it was not like during that time she had tried to get to know him on a personal level. What she did gather though was that he was strong and had a lot of influence around this place. What was Farren's intentions in gathering information on these two that it was important enough to threaten children?
She gave a low feral growl to Farren before she too spoke. "Sure I have a question, what kind of pathetic whelp has to go as low as to threaten infants to get some information?" those eyes looked down on him in disgust and contempt. What a sorry excuse for a guidance counselor, I knew this school was fucked up but even then this is just sad. she thought to herself. She knew now that she would have to be careful with this one. If he had the nerve to threaten Kevala's children he would certainly try to do something bad to her. Though Mitsukai doubted she had anything that Farren could really use against her that was not quite out of the realm of possiblities right?

I stood still at my place, watching as each girl in turn made her remarks. Funny, I was only working here a little over a week or so and already I had a growing reputation. I'd feel honored if it was something to be proud of. But it was the part I needed to play, and I was good at playing it. So I went along with the drama. I lifted my head and set it back gently against the steel unit I was leaning on. I took a little breath and said calmly,
"It's true. I threatened her kids for information...but also ta prove a point. I had no intention - and still don't - of hurtin' anyone innocent." I pushed off the air unit and took a few steps toward the trio. Hopefully they wouldn't get antsy and try to start a fight. Though I was sure I could handle one, maybe two, all three would be a challenge. I stopped a few yards away, closer than I had been before but still a safe distance. My hands remained in my pockets as I continued speaking, saying "You want ta know what kinda person I am? I'm someone not to be fucked with."
I waited a moment to let that last line sink in. Turning away from the three girls and looking out over the courtyard of the school and its few collective buildings, I finished by saying "You t'ink I'm silly? A pathetic 'whelp'? Maybe. But ya ever think that maybe this, all this - this school, the System, yer stupid arguments and pride and family vendettas - ya ever think they're just as stupid? Jus' as pathetic? And yet ya go along with 'em, never questioning anything that has to do with YOU. Always blamin', always screamin', at something else. Like me."
I finally turned back and locked eyes with all three at once. "Everyone dies. Everyone has hard pasts. Regrets. Pain. Ya ever try to do anything about 'em? Besides ignoring 'em or causing more sufferin'?"
It was nonsense talk and yet, at the same time, it wasn't. All four of us had pasts, some worse than others. I wanted to trigger something in their heads. Recognition. Whether I'd actually do it or not, we'll, we'd just have to wait and see...

She listened to his little rant and would growl softly. Her crimson eyes following his every move as he spoke and finally fell silent. Finally, she would step forward. Those eyes staying locked on his. She was a small female to say the least. Petite in stature and very delicate appearing. Though that is where it ended. She was dangerous, even if she herself did not know that yet.
"You stand there. On your box top and preach to us about how our little arguments are stupid. How the fact that my fucked up family has a vendetta against Astrid's is stupid. On and on you preach but did you ever stop to think that your reasoning is what is stupid? How dare you stand there, with the knowledge you get from your files and your blackmail and assume to know any of us.
You know nothing! Nothing of me, nothing of Mitsu or Astrid. You know nothing of Gabriel or Leon. None of us. Because you hide behind your precious badge and position and hope that you can achieve something with that."
She growled once more. Her arms still crossed over her chest as she drew in a deep breath.
"Do not assume to know me. You never will."
She would not lay hands on him, only because Gabriel had taken her place in the situation earlier with Farren and until Gabriel spoke otherwise, she would behave. But she did not speak this. Nobody needed to know this little fact.
