It wasn't too long before she returned to school, sure she didn't look her best, sure it hurt. But, she willed herself to not think about it, keep pushing forward, right? Work through the pain, fight past the loses. There was a smile on her face as she limped down the corridor, the normal whispering could be heard, with what had happened who wouldn't know? Creep goes berserk, crushes some students badly, fool challenges him...Fool gets put through a thick door. Addie knew all to well that she was probably marked one of the most foolish people in the school. Fighting...Ryu, Matrim, and Gabriel. All powerful men, sometimes they were scary. Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, right?
One door, a window, and more miscellaneous pain later... Addie was still standing. Limping her way around, even though it was her best attempt to walk normally. There was one thing on her mind, she needed to put her foot in her mouth...or it wouldn't be a day. Addie wasn't herself without a bit of added danger. Her longing to become strong seemed to consume her, not completely...But it had become dominate over most things.
Whispers...
Whispers...
"Hey you!" Addie would place a hand on a young man's shoulder, he and his friends would look in confusion at the battered girl as she moved closer." Where is he?"
After an explanation, she'd get the needed information...
He had been sighted wandering the halls on his way to the roof. With that, the brunette would take off, walking as fast as she could possible go...trying...trying.
Perfect.....
He was there.
A second of doubt passed, there was a little bit of fear. Would he attack her there? Who wouldn't be afraid?
"You got me good! Just you wait! I'll get stronger and take you on again!" Once more confidence could be found in her voice, even though she was a little afraid.
Who wouldn't be afraid?

The girl had pretty good timing. Not a minute before she showed up, he had tossed his backpack into the air, launched off his shoulders, landed on the main area of the roof, caught his backpack as it fell from the air, and walked to the edge of the roof of building A. He had been up on top of the roof access, out of sight of almost any one who came up to the roof. It was his personal hiding spot, having discovered it whilst being chased around by a crazy girl who demanded that Ryu be her teacher. You couldn't see him when he was laying down up there unless you went to the edge of the roof, turned around, and looked up above the door. Even then you could only see part of his legs. ...Or... Yknow... If you were on the roof of one of the other buildings....
But, as said, the girl had good timing. Ryu had jumped off of the eight foot tall roof access and had dropped his backpack near the edge of the roof facing out to the courtyard and the three other school buildings. Ryu didn't look as the door opened a fair distance behind him. What did it matter if someone else had come up here? Not many people in the school knew him. They relatively knew of him, after all, a week after he showed up he became a pillar for a short time, but no one knew who he was. So what did it matter if someone he didn't know came up here? It just meant he had someone to throw off the roof.
He did, however, know that voice. Same determined voice as before, if a bit shaky. Quite possibly one of half a dozen female voices in this school that didn't piss him... the rest were all whiny, bitchy, and or whorish. ...Sometimes all of the above.... Turning to face the girl, Ryu looked her up and down. She was a mess. Raising an eyebrow at her words, " 'A fighter only has two choices in their life; either Die or Get Stronger'." He quoted. "It's pretty obvious which one you've chosen, but you're in no condition to fight a toddler, let alone me. I've already gotten even stronger than when I put you through that door, and look where we are. The only place for you to go now is a four story vertical drop." He waved his arms slightly, denoting the wide open space. If he put her clear through a solid wood door, what did she think he'd be able to do to her on the roof?

"I'm going to get stronger, I'm just not sure what to do. It seems that I'm just running in place." Addie spoke in a serious voice, she was a little worried. Afraid what could happen whilst alone with the young man before her, regardless she fought back against the fear. After all, she needed to become stronger. Her blue eyes were locked on the man before her, she wasn't showing hesitation.
It was not the time to chicken out.
What was the worst that could happen?
"I have a proposition for you."
Pausing for a moment, Addie had to quickly think it out. She had nothing to offer him in return, she'd ask anyways. "Help me become strong and I'll...." brain fart. Having not thought very far, Addie was stuck. Standing a good distance away from the strange young man, she had requested something from him; yet she had nothing to offer in return. Looking away for a moment, her mind would continue to blank. Standing on legs that needed rest, she'd ask him to aid her in order become stronger......
Yep, no matter how many times she played it back in her head, it was always a bad idea.
"I'll..."
......
"I'll cook for you!"
If there was something that Addie was good at, apart from getting into sticky situations, it was cooking. Questionable to some, Addie had really improved her cooking skills. She had gone from being a nub to decent cooking, but then again he didn't know that. Which was good. Cooking and baking, things she loved. "I'll cook for you, how does that sound?"
Standing her ground, the brunette would wait for a response. Serious on the outside...Whilst a thousand voices prayed to the people up stairs...Let him not know how to cook! PLEASE!!! I'm only asking you for one thing....

Ryu could sympathize, and short of going back to New York and running into an even greater wall of power than there was here, he'd have done it literally. One big circle around the United States going precisely nowhere. His power was perpetually not enough, it seemed... Each of the places he went had gods that were stronger than any human should be able to. He himself was approaching that boarder, but these fucks... they took a fucking wrecking ball to that wall, beat it to the foundation, and stabbed the fuckin' sears tower into the ground of the rubble. Ryu was sick of it, had been since his first day in this rampaging shit hole.
She then mentioned a proposition. He never was one for those sorts of things, but she'd gotten a few points with him already. Between her determination that day and now, as well as the minor amount of sympathy he felt for her going nowhere fast had earned her some small favor with Ryu. So he listened. Train her, and she'll do what? His brow twitched and a fist along with his jaw clenched tight. She didn't seem like the type but, depending on her answer, she was about to get a first class ticket to the ground. Head first.
Then she finally blurted out her end of such a bargain. This stopped Ryu in his raging tracks. A brow raised, his anger faltered, and he looked at her like she had as many heads as there were roof tops behind him. He did know how to cook, after all he'd lived by himself for the past eight years, but that wasn't what had him burst out laughing after a few seconds of silence. No, it was the sheer absurdity of her offer. What did she expect to do? Live with him and do all the cooking? There was also the vagueness of it. Did she mean once? Did she mean for her whole bloody life?
The laugh slowed and ceased, "You don't even know who I am and you're not only asking me to train you, but offering to be my cook." He said loudly, a grin on his face for his amusement. "What do you suppose you would do, live with me?" Sure it was a pretty damn viable option, considering he could house a dozen people with ease so long as they didn't mind sleeping in the same room as another person or two, but he made the point anyway.
Shaking his head a bit and walking toward her, "Who are you?" and not in a 'who the hell do you think you are' manner, either.

He was right, she didn't so much as know his first name; it was probably not a good start. She was vague, but that was only because of the fact the idea just kind of came to her. She'd look down at the ground for a moment and think on his questions, all the while knowing she could have worded it properly. "I know I don't know you very well, asking you to train me was something that probably imposed upon you. But I thought it was worth a shot... Who knows? I mean you could have said yes." wandering blue eyes made their way back to the young man.
Nervous about the way she worded things, hopefully he wouldn't become angry with her speaking or responses. There was one thing she didn't want to do, that was fall from the roof or be thrown....
"As for the cooking, it was the only thing I could offer, since its one of the only things I'm good at." The comment about living with him was a little odd, she had never said that much. Cooks don't always stay where they work, do they? A little bit confused, she'd fall silent and debate on if cooks lived where they worked. "I'd never so much as impose in such a manner,"
He was getting closer to her, it made her a little uneasy. Though, that was possibly because he had put her through a door and the fact she had just asked a lot of him. Although, she had to admit, he didn't sound too angry, it was kind of difficult to tell with his deep voice.. "Addie."
What else?
What was his name?
"What about you?"
WELLLLL, she asked him anyways, regardless of the fact she was probably not in any place to ask of such things. What could it hurt?.....everything.... Trying not to think of the negative, she'd hold her ground and not give in; trying her best to hold onto the confidence she had been given.

Normal, restaurant cooks and chefs, no... But personal cooks sure as shit stayed with their employer. They were more or less servants. They usually had their own quarters, detached from the main house, but they lived on the premises. In her case, should this end up working out, she'd just take one of the guest rooms on the second floor. After all, she wouldn't be just a servant, she'd be a student of Ryu's. Heh, students... It was an odd though, Ryu being people's teachers. It hadn't been in the past when he was all about martial arts, gaining power, and taking care of the people he cared for.... But now he was lucky if he had the second or third.
Having ceased to care about martial arts almost entirely, he had yet to get back that drive. As for a thirst for power, it was much more a thirst for blood lately. With watching over those he cared for... he never really had such things now-a-days, though that had recently changed. The girl was sitting in bed, recovering from her injuries, as they spoke. Perhaps it was time to take on more. Why not? It would give him some sort of drive... Make sure he stayed strong enough to protect them. And in teaching, he'd have to delve back into the martial applications of his being... Hmm.
Picking up his backpack and walking even closer to her as she spoke her name, his large right hand would rise and fall on top of her head. Not hard, but not tremendously gently. A sort of light plop that mostly consisted of the weight of his hand. "Always introduce yourself with your first and last name. Don't waste the breath later." After a pause, "Ryu Hayabusa."
Once he had her full name, his hand would slide from her head, and he'd start walking past her. "There's someone who might be wary of the situation. Give me a couple of days to mull over the decision, and get yourself healed up." And down the stairs he'd go, unless she was a true glutton for punishment, seeking strain her body couldn't handle.

Half expecting him to jump out and attack her, Addie was a little caught off guard by his calmness and the fact he seemed like a different person. The twisted demon seemed to be gone for the moment, it was weird, though there was no telling if the demon would return... She wouldn't be ready, in no condition to fight. Running with the change in attitude, she'd smile. Being nice required a smile, she needed to show she didn't have any ill will.
"Sorry about that Ryu. Addie, Addie Balfour."
She was allowed to call him Ryu, right?
His hand was on her head, he almost seemed like a different person for a moment. Smiling a little at him, she'd look up at him; he wasn't all that scary....Now. He'd explain how he needed a few days to think it over, which was understanding. Strange girl whom he had assaulted asks for training.....a litttle weird. She'd nod, watching as his hand slid down and he moved away from her.
"Thank-you for hearing me out." Turning to follow him, she'd start her trip down the stairs. Pushing herself to walk through the pain, she didn't care about it anymore."Sorry to be so forward about this all, but I'd really like to become strong."
Not explaining it, since it was a personal goal.
To become strong...
It was going to happen, there was no way she was going to give in...
