He didn't acknowledge Gabriel presence, instead examining the damage done to his opponent. Now, things would definitely get interesting. Matrim would appearently be tougher to bring down then David first anticipating. Being that he was on fire, It left him with a rather poor disposition in hand to hand combat. It wouldn't be a contest if not for those damn flames...Of course, it would be far more evenly matched had both of them neglected to use Qi. But of course, fighting with the strength you were born with was his attitude, and he let out a wild grin, flexing his left fist, feeling the once dull ache turn into a throbbing, slightly stabbing pain. It was hurting him more and more to use it- better try his best with one hand- he could always drag this out a little longer.
He felt almost no fatigue, and so far the only damage done to him was a slight pain in the stomach and the burn from...well, from nothing. He thought quickly, luckily enough Matrim took his time walking over. He was obviously a Vertical fighter, and David was sure his Brazillian Jujitsu would come in handy if they took it to the dirt. However, those damn flames were still getting in the way...He would have to think of some way soon to either bypass them, or to turn them off completely. He would vanish and, from the left side but a little to the back just out of the range of his adversaries peripherals, David would land a swift scissor kick to the back of Matrimm, right at the kidneys. He would be careful to use his increase speed to touch the ground only once, lightly, and to make his movement have as little sound as possible.
A kidney shot would be...rather painful, and methodical. Cause an enemy increased pain, they get angry, and reckless. Perhaps Matrim was one of the few who could control thier anger under such circumstances, but from what the former Captain had seen Matrim was as hot headed as his fire showed.
If the kick landed, Davids shoe would, instantly, catch on fire (or so the writer presumed). He expected it, and therefore kicked it off as soon as possible. Once it flew into the distance, David would glance at his burning sneaker quickly before returning his gaze to the battle at hand. He had another kick, and then his other shoe would light up.
'Tch. I need to find something light and sturdy to hit the boy with, that will last. If only i had my Bo...'
His kick would probably propel Matrim forward, and so David would use the opportunity to glance around, making sure to always keep this man in his sights so no surprises were to be had.

The boy was fast, that much was definitely sure. And while Matrim was having trouble perceiving his attacks he at least caught directions he was going, only problem being he was still too damn fast as by the time he realized a kick had been coming it was mostly around the time it was connecting with the back toward his kidneys. Matrim's body paralyzed instantly in a blinding pain as he had to hold his throat back from crying out in pain, the guys shoe catching (I would assume with his charisma, not sure about catching for shoes though, it could just start melting and burning the rubber, I'm not entirely sure on the physics of the burning shoe, most I know is when you dry when out by a fire it smells nasty from burning rubber xD) on fire, and kicking it off to the side. This time Matrim was already on the defense, arms coming behind his back almost as if he was going to use his two arms as leverage to stretch, raising them toward kidneys to take the second blow to his already strained arms, his back not exactly doing miracles for softening the blow.
Matrim was thrown forward by this, head first as his body slumped over. Hitting the ground on his chest his back pained a bit more but he pushed through it, standing up and dealing with the pain, rather than ignoring it. Matrim knew his opponent was now barefooted, and would push on his arms and thrust his right foot back, sideways, to try and kick David out at the ankles. Whether or not this worked Matrim would pull that leg in, press down on that foot and his hands to send himself upward, twisting in air, aiming to send his left leg over David's head, and land on David's left shoulder, where the burn was to hopefully distract him with the sudden pain, his right foot would aim to David's right shoulder, which would put Matrim, who was spinning, in a position of performing a different type of scissor kick, a move he picked up in China before 650, one of the few he had not had the ability to perform till now, the idea being that scissoring the neck, and twisting his body with his strength, of stronger than his opponent would turn this into a take down to throw David to his left by the neck.
The burns that would go with wouldn't be too bad if successful considering how kick this would take place, and after he performed it he'd end up on the ground again and he'd need a moment to recuperate. But it was one of his more unexpected attacks, something nobody would imagine him to have in his arsenal, and hopefully he'd be able to get this one off.

OOC(( This move slightly confused me, as there seems to be too much leg movement for a scissor kick. However, I'll try my best to interpret it, you can IM me if i get it wrong :] ))David spotted, about thirty feet away, a large pipe sticking up from the ground, likely used for draining wells that had become over-clogged and muddy. He took a step toward it, about to vanish when, without warning, his eyes Caught on to Matrims movement. It was fast- faster then expected, and the only movement David could make in defense was to kick back his foot onto its heel, letting the kick catch the bottom of his shoe rather then his ankle. He snapped his attention to the Captains body, the whipping motion giving him a blurring effect. Now he knew what he must look like. He knew he was faster, he could feel that, but it was still too fast for his eyes to keep up with. A rocking pain slammed into his burned shoulder, flaring all the way down his back. He dropped to his left knee under the pain, giving a slight grunt as the nerves flared. The foot had come down on top of his shoulder, so, without missing a beat or thinking of the consequences, Davids left hand would fly up and clasp onto the top of Matrims calf, just above the ankle. This both burned his hand and his shoulder, but only for the second in which he needed. He torqued his body, clenching his right fist tightly and screaming both with the intensity of the punch and the pain in his hand and shoulder. His fist would move at blinding speeds, aiming to crash directly into the side of Matrims Knee. This would be very, very painful as, with the force and pressure of the blow, his ACL or various other ligaments would be highly probable to tear or break completely. Upon connection, David would stand and with a quick grip with his right hand on the bottom of Matrims Calf and throw up, Aiming to send the man to his back. David's shoulder would be puffy, and his left hand would be as well. His right hand didn't hurt too badly since the grip and punch had been quick- like passing your finger through a candle. As long as he didn't hold on for more then a second, and with his speed it was more than possible. He would clench his teeth- his Left arm send stabs of pain through him, but it would be worth the price. David would still have his movement- Matrim on the other hand would struggle quite a bit without his left leg. David would Vanish and Appear beside the metal Pipe, tearing it from the ground. It would be about six to eight feet in length, just a starting extension for well routers. He spun the pipe in his hands, similar to this (At time, 3:00). He cracked his neck then and would wait for Matrim to come to his feet. He would only speak if his attack on the Knee had gone through as he expected. "My advice to you Captain, is to stand down. Fighting you like this is not honorable, nor worthy of my strength. If you refuse, I'll not offer again." Matrim had, unexpectedly, proved himself to be strong. Stronger then David had expected at least. However, David knew that, once he began using his new Bo-substitute, things would not bode well for the man across the field. He flexed the fingers in his left hand, wincing against the pain though only barely- luckily he was too far away from Matrim for it to be noticed. OOC(( Due to new burns, Left arm decreases by 150. Dex in left arm now 450. Rest is 800.))

(OOC: Yeah it was an extremely modified version. Like he had to do one rotation in order to even set it up the way he was going for but this was good. And that fight is so much win. Was it a good matrix movie? sorta, was it a good movie? sorta. Were the fights epic? yes.)
"My advice to you Captain, is to stand down. Fighting you like this is not honorable, nor worthy of my strength. If you refuse, i'll not offer again."
Matrim's knee had exploded in pain, reawakening old injuries wasn't fun. His head was doing the numbers game trying to figure out if he had a chance, but he didn't. Matrim stood, and fighting once more through the sharp pain, David's attacks had struck true, "You may think of me a fool," Matrim would say, "And I should give in and take that offer now. There's no point in going on... except that I would be a fool to pass up the opportunity to see this fight through to the end. I haven't fought anyone this powerful in a long time, I plan on seeing just how far I can go. After all, imagine if it were you in my shoes."
Hopefully David would understand, since he was close to where Matrim was. David may not see Matrim as worthy for whatever reasons, which meant he'd have to prove it. Quitting didn't prove ones worth, only ones lack of will. David however, had shown himself a worthy adversary, and Matrim being the fighter he was had to take up the opportunity to fight him, just as he did Leon. It was the only way to grow stronger. Besides, he knew David despised killing and would not do so to him. He respected David, and trusted him. The lack of items showed that.
Matrim having seen what David was doing would dive for his items, not to grab them, but to grab it. The staff, if David was going to use a staff, as would Matrim, pulling it from the pile he would immediately bring it to guard position within both hands assuming David might be after him. If David didn't come after him, Matrim would push off of his good leg once more and aim to thrust the end nearest his right hand straight into David's gut.
(OOC: Con: 96, not taking bonus from staff, just using it for RP purposes so we can have some staff on staff fightage.)

Outwardly, David simply nodded, inwardly he grinned.
Well, at least he knew the man had some fight inside and not just outside. It was for the love of battle that David now fought, for the love of pain and damage, of testing his abilities against an opponent, to watch them fall or to fall himself. He hungered for it, and though he knew the outcome of the battle would be in his favor, he didn't continue to press the point. He would grin, maliciously, almost hungering for what was to come. Matrim was right- David would not kill. Some saw it as a weakness, others thought of it as a liability to allies. David saw it as honor. You show someone the respect their fight gave, give them a chance to return and cross fists once again. Taking a life did nothing but add more bodies to a graveyard. Let them live, and you can push them to the limits, make them worthy of your respect.
He watched Matrim dive for his items, a sinking sense of disappointment coming over him. Was Matrim really going to take the time to pile all those back on himself? It would cancel out every ounce of respect the man had damaged himself to earn. However, Matrim simply picked up one, a staff, crossing it over himself. David would cock an eyebrow, but would let it lower moments afterward. Matrim knew nothing of David, otherwise he would have known that crossing staffs with him would be a mistake. David was an older student, an alumni, and since he was old enough to pick up a stick he had been trained in staff fighting. Since his arms could lift a blade, sword fighting. He never had a use for either, but he had, without fail, trained in them daily, for two hours when rushed minimum.
Still, it made him curious. Could Matrim actually fight with it, or was he simply new to the art and wanted to have some stable ground?
As the Captain thrust, David would bring his staff up vertical left, and bring it across his body. His right hand would be up top, his left a little lower down. This would parry the blow and send the staff along Davids left side. If Matrim had put any force into the blow, his staff would continue on its path just a little further. David would now be directly to the right (from matrims point of view) of the staff. As he parried, he brought the staff horizontally and without much effort, aimed to smash it into the side of Matrims face, right on the left near the temple. After that he would bring the staff back into the exact position it was before when parrying, and would perform an under twirl. This is hard to describe, but basically David would rotate his entire body during the time Matrim was stunned. He would rotate clockwise and, using the connection of the poles, manipulate Matrims staff over Davids head and would be standing behind the Captain.
Upon reaching his destination, he would strike out again, his staff aiming to split the back of his opponents skull.
OOC(( Yeah, that fight was killer. My move here was very difficult to explain, if it confuses you I'll see what i can do about making a video for you to see it in action xD))

(OOC: No worries, I may not seem like it but I'm really good when it comes to using weapons, lot of practice.)
The grip Matrim's hands had on his staff had been palms facing the same way, which gave him the ability to, after his attack was deflected and veered left, at quite an angle, an opportunity to block David's attack, that is, if he hadn't been so close and so fast. All it took on David's part to do his attack is move his right hand forward and left hand back. But Matrim's forward momentum wasn't disturbed, he stepped on his bad leg but quickly would adjust keeping up.
The rear of his staff, closest to his left hand would shoot up between David's hands, on the inside of his staff in relation to staff and chest, it would be pushed up then forward, the front of the staff powered by his right hand would hit the back of David's right knee, as Matrim would drive his right shoulder into David's own left to knock him off balance while sweeping his leg. He would complete the motion which almost mimicked that of rowing a boat, until once again his right hand was higher than his left, staff crossing his chest diagonally from his left hip to his right shoulder, ready to defend any attack David may give while down should this work.
Although, let's just say Matrim was a little loopy after the strike to the head, vision blurring momentarily as he did so, with no necessary need for it having pretty good reasoning skills and photographic memory, but the fuzziness was definitely a bad sign. The longer this fight went on, the more damage he would end up with, but this was a fight he didn't want to have over too soon. Not for a hope to win, but definitely for enjoyment.

OOC(( Well good! I won't worry too much on it then xD))
Now, most masters of the art tell you one thing- never release your weapon. However, in Davids style, when you have an opportunity, you take it. So, rather then stand there and allow his leg to recieve damage, He let it go, just as his opponents staff stuck into his guard. He grabbed it, right in the middle between Matrims hands with his left hand, striking upwards with his right in a hard uppercut. He then released his grip and stepped back with his right foot, kicking with his left directly for Matrims chest.
It was immediately after the punch, giving him a good opening to do so. He would then dive left, roll, and grab his staff, spinning with it as he landed to strike the back of Both Matrims knees.
On contact, he would rotate as he stood, whipping the staff around again to strike Matrim directly in the front of the face, just below the nose. If this hit or was blocked or missed, he would vanish and, using an overheaded swing from directly behind his kneeling opponent, aim to strike directly atop his adversaries skull .If it landed and knocked him out, David would land, breathing heavily, hefting his staff that would, expressly, have blood on the end of it. He would jam it into the ground and look down at the Captain.
"Mmm. Interesting..."
By this he meant the capabilities of his opponent. He would then grab the back of Matrims shirt and hoist him up, throwing him over his shoulder before beginning to walk away from the Scene. Matrim could come back later for his items, especially not Gabriel. David would stare at the boy and wonder- was he next? Now would, in truth, be the perfect time to attack David. He was injured and in pain...did Gabe intend to take advantage? He would soon see...
**If the strike doesnt knock out Matrim**
David would spin again after the downward strike, whipping the pipe around with regulated force- a blunt trauma to the skull would likely split it, and cause instant concussion, but it would also be a formidable strike which would probably cause death. If it landed, Matrim would probably have a few moments before he bled to death. Rather then let this happen, David would feed him a small fruit, making him chew it and swallow which wouldn't wake him up, but would heal all of his wounds, even broken bones and internal damage. He hated to waste one on the man, but he didn't kill, and would therefore repay his debt to the Captain in peril.
OOC(( Left arm: 300 dex. Everywhere else, 800. Also, in case i forgot to mention it, Davids CON has been at 180 from Qi activation.))

(OOC: Aye, and just a reminder Matrim's strength and Dex are both 200, just in case you forgot.)
The grip David had at the middle of the staff wouldn't be enough to prevent Matrim from performing his assault with his staff, Matrim's strength seeming to be greater even if he might have to take a hit from a punch but his momentum wouldn't change and would still be forward, and as David tried to step back with his right foot, it would only add to Matrim's forward momentum, attempt (still attempting it appears) at a shoulder slam.
(OOC: I think you forgot this bit here, since that type of block wouldn't stop his staff from turning back behind David's right leg, since that part of the staff was already behind him, so him stepping back = him tripping and falling over staff.)
His move would not change from the punch's since his strength an weight had already gone into it, though the uppercut would most likely get caught at the staff due to the placement and distance between staff and Matrim, were it a jab (OOC: Not sure if you're going above staff or under, but either way would be rather awkward, so just let me know if I was off with that.) Assuming this all worked Matrim would, if David still happened to be holding the middle of the staff with his left hand, keep the motion going and pin down his left shoulder with the point of the staff.
(OOC: If you want to talk on msn about this, hit me up, I'd be willing to explain why I did this, what the justification for it is, you weren't on MSN otherwise I woulda talked to you a bit before posting.
and Con: 94)

(( -_- ))
David, upon releasing his staff, wouldn't strike as previously planned for several reasons.
1: Matrims shoulder placed him off balance, making a grip or punch impossible.
2: His legs were swept from under him, making such a grip rather redundant.
He fell to his back and upon landing, rolled his right shoulder up and to the left, pushing with his left hand to propell him to his feet, avoiding the all-too-likely follow up strike Matrim would probably try to deliver to his stomach while he was on the ground. His shoulder ached from the contact with the earth, but luckily enough for him his Qi was still activated. He placed the tip of his foot under the pipe he dropped and kicked it upward, toward Matrim. The pip would smack into Matrims back and bounce off, David already moving forward.
He would grip the pipe as it rebounded toward him, whipping it up and around his back, bringing it down left hand in front to smash it to the left of Matrims spine, once again the Kidneys, this time the other one. The boy would be lucky if he didn't piss blood later. He realized he had been making a lot of strikes from behind and rather than continue down this road, he would wait for matrim to turn around and face him before giving him a moment to collect himself. He cracked his neck again, then attacked, doing something similiar to Matrims attack but without the charge- just a lunge and thrust, straight for the abdomen, left hand forward, on top of the pipe, right hand back on the bottom for a quick defense.
'Your going to need to end this soon David- You guys can't keep this up forever...'
His thoughts twirled in his head as he struck, watching matrim for any sign of movement.

I can't keep going like this, he's too fast.....
Matrim decided to use a technique that would bring him to a point that would probably make him relatively easy to beat. So a lot was banking on this, but he had very little else to do, and this wasn't the technique he had saved for Leon so he would be safe in using it. As he stood after being hit in the other kidney he knew he was going to have some trouble, and would require medical attention, but he would be alright if he could just finish the fight as much as he was comfortable doing so.
Shit....
David came in for an attack, it was now or never as the flames would instantly go to Matrim's good foot, dodging David's thrust to the right Matrim would push off of his good foot, increasing his speed for a single burst (OOC: Str drops to 100, Dex rises to 800 for this short burst.) The unexpected speed would be shortlived, so Matrim would execute quickly, already being ready for it his staff would joust under David's left arm, Matrim's left hand letting go and would catch it on the other side, he would land slightly behind David, and by turning the staff in a counter clockwise motion behind David's back, he would hopefully with the help of that burn manage to cause his arm to be pulled into a twist around his back.
If successful Matrim's right hand would open once the arm was behind him, grabbing the arm against the quarterstaff, if he could maintain to keep it from twisting by doing this David would be in what was much like what police used to twist the arm of assailants behind there back. And while Matrim couldn't do much else, and all flame would extinguish from his body once this was over, Qi'less, he would at least have David in a hold. The only question being what now? Matrim's good foot had been scorched, burnt and useless. His Qi would no longer be available to him, and he was definitely injured to hell.
But if he could get this off for one bright shiny moment, then hey, why not get a moment in the dominant position?
(OOC: Once Qi Ends, Con: 90, all other stats: 96)

David found himself suddenly in a rather awkward position. See, With a sudden burst, Matrim had vanished and increased his speed drastically, and David got a taste of his own medicine. His arm was twisted up behind his back, and pain slamming into his brain from every corner of his body. He cried out from the shock of it, but knew it would only be the beginning. Judging by the labored breath behind him, he Knew Matrim was running on Empty, and though he didn't have much left in his tank, he knew that he had plenty more than his opponent- he had no damage to the skull, so his head was clear as Day, and his body went mostly undamaged. He would stand for just a second and speak to Matrim, who was apparently searching for what more he could do. "Well...it would look as though we are at an impasse- then again, not everything is always how it looks." An ace up his sleeve? Well, not exactly- just a talent he has had since he was young. He squeezed the muscles in his left shoulder, popping the joint clean from its socket. Now, David, being double jointed, wouldn't normally feel any pain from this. However, due to the burns and tension Matrim put there, The burn split and tore open, blood running down his body. He flipped around with all the speed his Qi invested in his body, slamming the heel of his hand right into the bridge of the nose, aiming to break it. His right foot would kick out, slamming into the front of the knee that was burning, aiming to completely break the joint, instead of the muscles. It would be like a broken leg, Except it would be deeper inside, and in need of surgery. After this, his left arm being useless, he would whip his right fist back and begin punching the likely-falling Captain over and over in the face, until his eyes glazed over. If Matrim brought his arms up for Defense, David would grab the shirt below the arms and slam his knee right into the solar plexus, which would bring the arms down in reaction. He would then slam his head forward to hit the already wounded nose, giving it the force and angle needed for a quick and debilitating KO. OOC(( I do have in his bio that he's double jointed, so i didn't just throw it in there Also, left arm now useless, everywhere else Dex 800))
