"You can't run forever."
The body belonging to voice rose, shrugging off his tattered cloak as though it were a weight he didn't wish to carry, or couldn't carry. Yet at the same time, he seemed light as a feather, impossible to burden. His flowing beard, white with age, blew gently in the breeze. Around the mans feet was the bodies of those he loved- Emily, Bastille...his friends- Mitsuki, Olesya, even Gabriel and Alex and Drea...Leon was bleeding, draining away to nothing, bodies of those he knew nothing of were scattered about- Matrim and Sara, Jason and Arthur. Before him was a man who just broke those he cared about most, and he could do nothing to stop it. He was, in essence, totally powerless. He coughed blood, coming to his feet for what he thought and knew would be a final battle.
To his mouth he brought his fruit, his last resort, and Activated his Qi. (Dex, 6400)
The old man just stared as the sky lit, striking David with its power and rebounding off. The old man sighed, giving a heavy grumble to go along with the fireworks display.
"You will die, David Blaze, and your secret will be mine."
The shirt on the man burned away, and fire leapt around him. His body was burning, and from his side he drew his blade, pointing the tip skyward as a torrent of heat and flame torched the sky. David could do nothing but watch in awe. The mans body was massive, chisled to the core, and crisscrossed with more scars then both him and Leon Combined. His eyes glowed a fire red, and as the burning earth below him began to torch his clothes, he fell simply to his knees in sheer admiration. Strength. Such as he had never seen before.
A Vision of sheer power in all its glory.
David watched, helpless and dumbstruck, as the arm came down, ending his life with a single swipe of his flaming blade.
David awoke, sweat beading his brow as he sat bolt upright. The school was empty, twilight having begun to set in. His arm hurt and ached. He didn't remember the dream, he never did. But it always left him feeling so hot...He looked around. School must have been out for hours, David having fallen asleep around noon, and here it must be close to six. He frowned. He didn't sleep that long normally, it must have been some sort of unconscious action. He cracked his neck, standing and yawning, stretching his body before gasping once again in pain. He clutched his shoulder, and upon examination noticed a large burn, long but thin, and definitely apt to leave a scar. He stared at it. 'What the fuck?'If only he remembered his dream, he would realize and know that that exact spot was where the blade of Isamu Chiyoko, Leader and Elder of Dishini Toshuna had connected. The hunter of men.

(OOC: Hope you don't mind, I thought this would be funny as shit, if you want I can edit though, so please if you do have a problem with this, tell me but I thought this would be priceless...)
"Schools out man," Matrim would say, sitting next to David's unconscious body, with his hands aflame looking down on him and smiling, "What are you doing sleeping in so late at school? Gotta be smart and set your watch alarm like I do."
Of course I'd be scared to see what would happen if I put a watch on one of my spare arms and then returned it to my body....
Matrim would extinguish the flame and then say, "Haven't seen you in awhile, you alright?" He'd ask, with actual sentiment in his voice which would probably be something David hasn't heard in awhile. He wanted to talk to David about something important, but he wanted to make sure they were on talking terms before he did. It was actually a stroke of luck that he had found him here. Matrim having decided to check the school for any break ins or anything... while breaking into his locker to grab a book he forgot.

OOC((Lol, its cool, no worries xD))
David glanced over at the approaching Captain, tenderly touching his shoulder to try and feel for any internal damage. Some nerve scorching, but that was to be expected with fire. As Matrim sat, David stared at the hand that extinguished, wondering if Matrim would be the type to burn him while he slept. It would take one of three things- stealth, cowardice, or stupidity. Perhaps two of those combined would work, hell maybe all three. Still, he doubted Matrim to be the type, not to mention the wound had happened before Matrim even emerged from the school, and it would have taken some serious drugs to keep David asleep while he slowly burnt something into him that look like a blade. He smelled it. Scorched hair and metal. Strange.
He said nothing as Matrim spoke about setting his alarm clock. He said little to people whose company he actually enjoyed, let alone to people he had slight disdain for. Not to say he hated Matrim- he just didn't like his methods of work, didn't like how he spoke or did things, and seemed rather contradictory. David pinned nothing on someone until there was proof- but he had ideas of what Matrim might do to get his way. Likely similiar to Linda, who David had plenty of dealings with. Speaking of which, whatever happened to that girl? She appeared and disappeared more often then Mathew Amtru-...wait. Now he was curious- how many other people were vanishing like magic acts?
He brought his attention back to the matter at hand, but he would mention it to Emily later.
"Mmm. I'm fine." He held no animosity, he had just a different outlook and need in life. He felt no urge to gain the approval of others, nor was he one to converse much anyway. He liked action. Of course, it made things difficult when someone actually just wanted to talk and not act anything out, but still, it mattered little.
'Why is he talking to me? Last we spoke, he seemed rather aggravated with me. Who cares- perhaps i'll get lucky and he'll wanna fight.'
Of course, if the stupid ex-Captain thought it through, he would realize that using his right arm would be rather...painful, and therefore a fight would probably not be profitable to him. Then again, since when did he care about such things?
He turned his head, staring at Matrim without worry, waiting for the reason of his approach.

"Mmm. I'm fine." He said, and Matrim nodded, smiling that he was fine. Matrim knew Gabriel was back, he didn't know if he was Nova, but if he was, he would probably talk to Leon about that one. Gabriel didn't respect his title, so Matrim didn't respect it either. As for David, Matrim didn't know. All he knew was of the name Cascade that was used by that creepy kids telling. Either way he had to talk to him about another very disturbing matter.
"Do you know a kid named Arthur D?" Matrim asked turning toward David, "He came to me and asked me to help him with something. I told him yes but, I don't intend to keep my promise. Mostly I intend on figuring out what he has planned before he can go through with it. But I don't know how powerful he is, I didn't exactly get any run for the hills vibes from him but I figured you might know more about him."
Well that solves the first thing I wanted to talk to him about....
Matrim would wait for a response. There were a few things he wanted to discuss and come clean about, one thing would be telling David that he was there that day, the day that he nearly killed a man, and the day that he took David and saved him. He didn't care anymore about that so much as he did that he could at least be on even ground with David. Maybe not friends, probably not exactly comrades. But he certainly didn't want David being his enemy. Not out of fear, he just... he was sick of having enemies.

David paused for only a moment before continuing to rub the spot on his shoulder.
Arthur. He was a dead man walking. Literally- but that was beside the point. He was also, metaphorically, a dead man. Several weeks ago, he had molested the woman David now served, and in so doing had earned himself a hospital visit on a silver stretcher. David would break the man to pieces, and nobody would stand in his way. He let none of his anger or emotion show, instead he just continued to stare at the Captain as he spoke.
"Arthur, and whoever sides with him, will soon be under my fist. He's nothing to worry about."
His last sentence was taken from his own anger at the man- he didn't know enough about the boy to state whether he was a threat or not. He wore a mask, was burned badly during a battle a time ago (the same battle Matrim saved David) and has stayed out of the Cascade Dragons way since then. He ticked off yet another little mental note to tell Emily that arthur was planning something as he wated for Matrim to continue on with what he needed. Surely the guy didn't come out to check up on him, or talk about some petty child who felt the need to beat on women cause there wasn't a man here whom he could do it to.
So, once again, he waited patiently.

"Arthur, and whoever sides with him, will soon be under my fist. He's nothing to worry about."
"Good to have you on the team," Matrim said laughing. David was nothing if not straightforward about where he stood. That was a good quality to have, and Matrim needed to take from that, "Arthur plans on killing Leon. I told him I'd help but I just did it so I could find out his plan. I don't know if he's anywhere near strong enough to pull some crap like that, but on the off chance that he has friends in mighty places I figured I'd ask you."
He'd get to his next point, "I was there, that day when you guys were attacked by those creeps, the one where you got knocked out by that larger man. I was wearing a mask, you stopped me from killing a guy. I saved you once you were knocked out. Figured I'd let you know that. It was my way of saying thanks for helping me battle Gabriel that day, having you on my side instead of his is probably one of the reasons Shayne is..."
He trailed off and decided to switch the subject, "So, we never did have that fight...." He'd say and grin, hopefully David would take his offer. That is if he recognized it, Matrim would let out his fighters spirit, an intent to fight climbing within him. The injury meant nothing, he wanted to test his abilities against David, "What do you say to having us a little throw down right now? Nobody's here to get hurt and I have the resources to fix anything we break."
If David accepted this would definitely change the mood of the conversation. At least they stood in the same place when it came to Arthur.

'Tch.'His first thought came without honest reaction- mostly because he knew, just by looking at Matrim, that he was an item user. Of course, David thought of him as a weakling because of it, and therefore felt the Captain unworthy to fight him. Of course, being that it was Matrim's idea, he had no intention of turning him down. However, it left a slight distaste to his mouth, like vinegar. You take a sip, and no amount of drink deludes the taste. He stared at the male, his outward expression unchanging, though he withdrew his hand from his shoulder. He sighed inwardly, trying to think a way out of traditional methods of the pillar system, when suddenly an easy healing found its way to that festering wound. "Follow." He stood, walking without turning back. If Matrim refused, or decided he honestly didn't feel like following anyone, David would simply continue walking, and when he figured out no footsteps were behind him, he would go check at the hospital for a certain female that seemed to live there. However, likely was it that Matrim would follow him, and so he would walk onward, toward a small, five acre field just over the train tracks. as he entered it, he unzipped the gray hoody he wore, revealing a white tank that clung tightly to the corded muscle on his frame. He tossed it onto the post that signaled the entrance to this field, and Matrim upon entering would likely notice the ground had been newly re-soiled, and that burn marks were everywhere. Gifts, from David's last two battles with the lightning Dragon. He cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders as he turned around to face the Infernal Dragon. "Alright, now we fight." It was obvious why he led the boy here. This place had no claim. This place recognized no titles. David had no interest in taking Matrims Captainship when he beat him, and therefore wouldn't risk a battle on campus. If even one student strolled by and saw them fighting, the entire place would be alive with people, swarming to the battle like bees to honey. He would wait for Matrim to prepare himself in whatever way he wished, before he brought up a hand, waving his opponent forward. "Alright Captain, lets see what you got." Cascade vs Infernal? As said previously to other individuals, bring it ON!

"Follow." David had said, and Matrim got up, following him. It seemed he had a better idea about where this should take place, Matrim wondered about the guy as he walked, and he wanted to fight him but... lately he hadn't been getting much out of fights, maybe he'd make it more difficult on him, make things interesting. Not to mention he didn't notice anything about David that suggested he was wearing equipment to improve him, "Alright, now we fight."
Matrim would slowly take equipment, tossing it to the side, every last one in a small pile as he smiled over at David, "Good."
"Alright Captain, lets see what you got." David said, and Matrim grinned.
Matrim pulled a hair tie from his pocket, pulling his hair back in a ponytail to keep it from obscuring his view at all, wearing nothing more than a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt. He walked a bit before thinking about how he should start this, but it didn't matter to him. Just so long as he enjoyed the fight, "Heh."
He would take off toward David off of his left foot, his left hand in a claw like shape would come forward aiming for David's neck as his right foot planted in front of David, his aim would to be to grab David by the throat to pull him forward, as Matrim's left leg would catch up to his right, aiming to swing it's own momentum up towards David's abdomen, attempting to either wind him or get a decent bladder shot on him.
The grab on the neck would only be meant to be temporary, and the foot would slam down hit or miss at the end of it's swing.

David watched him move warily, and a he came in close he...did nothing. The grip to his neck didn't make him wince, instead he stared blankly into the mans eyes, the sudden knee to his stomach winding him, and as the grip on his neck released, he took two steps backward, catching his breath before letting it out in a very merry laugh. So, the Captain did have some muscle under all that armor. Congrats to him. Unfortunately, it meant David had to actually try, and therefore things wouldn't likely go well for the man. He straighten out, letting his laugh die to a chuckle. It gave him an air of anticipation, and his eyes would flash.
"Well well, stronger then i thought. You must have been training hard, because there was no way you were this strong when last i saw you. At least, not without those." He nodded with his head at the pile of toys laying quite a ways behind his opponent. He tore the tank from his back, revealing his heavily scarred torso, bare against the wind. He wanted nothing in the way of contact when the guy hit him again. He pivoted with his right foot, placing it behind him. His left arm came up in a 90 degree angle, his hand opening in a claw and bending backward at the wrist so his palm was skyward. His right hand came to about mid-naval, opening flat and bending back at the wrist so his palm face toward his adversary.
He squared his legs and shoulders before going loose, the only rigid part of him being his left arm.
"Now, try again."
His hair blew softly in the wind, and he wanted once more for the man to move. Several things he had noticed just from the first attack- he was fast, strong, and brutal. David decided to fight fire with fire- not in a literal sense, but metaphorically speaking. His stance was from a brutal martial art, one he used to practice frequently but, due to the lack of competition, had stored away. It was time to bring it out again and test the power of the Infernal Dragon for keeps.

"Well well, stronger then i thought. You must have been training hard, because there was no way you were this strong when last i saw you. At least, not without those." David said after backing away, Matrim remained silent, studying his opponent's scarred body, not aiming to utilize any weakness he may have, but definitely studying how his hits effected him. It was true, Matrim utilized equipment to strengthen him, stuff he had earned or come across to aid his skill, but underneath all that he was still quite strong.
He studied his opponents stance, being no strange to different styles of martial arts, the stance itself could belong to many, but instead of focusing on trying to remember if he knew it, he studied where the limbs were, claws which suggested grabs and palm thrusts, open fisted boxing, and he'd need to watch that back leg going in as well, but his eyes couldn't be drawn in by the limbs....
Focus....
His eyes locked with his opponents, trying to absorb the peripheral vision, "Now, try again."
Utilize his bodies position, think of any leverage you can get....
David's right foot was behind him, but with a single crescent kick or even an axe kick he could change that as Matrim approached, which discouraged Matrim from trying to form an attack plan, but he'd go in expecting failure, taking off with his right hand and left hand in claws, moving as he did, swinging as they should, his right hand would extend as if trying to grab David's left, a distraction and a feint to his left foot going to David's left, aiming to step beside him on his backside, his left palm would aim to strike his chest along the sternum, bending his left leg at the knee he aimed to knock David back and cause him to fall over Matrim's knee, hopefully causing him to land on his back where Matrim would attempt a palm strike at David's nose while he was (hopefully) on his back.
If all this was successful he would attempt to quickly step away from him and go into a defensive stance with his hands open fisted in front of him, fingers hanging somewhat loose, bouncing back and forth on the balls of his feet.

'Cute.'David smiled as the male grew closer. As the boy reached with that arm, David bent his arm more, catching the wrist of the extended hand harshly with his forearm. Now, the next part would be quick, and tricky, but David had done it more times then he could count. His right hand would, at the exact moment his skin made contact with the wrist, shoot up and grab his adversarys forearm, just ABOVE his wrist. His left hand would then extend as the right hand pulled, giving a violent chop to the neck. At this point, he released the grip and steped inward, using his right hands close position and ability to deliver power through distance to slam a heavy punch to Matrim sternum. But it didn't stop there. His left hand and right hand would cock like cannons, all of this flowing in tune without pause or thought, and being to pummel the Captains chest, delvering what was known in the Kung Fu world as the Wing Chun Punch. Adding to that was the sudden increase in Davids speed- for As Matrim attacked, David would Activate the highest level of his Qi, giving himself wiggle room should he need to step it up. However, he doubted this. His blows would come so quickly Matrim wouldn't know what hit him before David was done. Thirty in the five seconds, Blaze rained those blows- all with the full cocking back power, delivering it straight to the core. He would, upon finishing, Vanish with a backflip just in case: should Matrim activate his Qi he wouldnt risk his arms getting burned. He would land with eyes on his opponent about fifteen feet away, before he cooled down his energy to make him appear at lower levels, even though in reality he had the ability to now move at what he just performed. Now, this next part would be tricky, for upon landing he knew two things. 1: His arm hurt like hell, and it was difficult to move- when he did, it felt like flames were crawling under his skin. 2: His attack either heavily bruised or even broke the chest bone on his opponent. It would make things easier if it were the latter- however, either way would still cause difficulty in both breath intake, and in moving. 'Now lets see where this goes...'His thoughts swirled as his burn flared. OOC(( Qi activated. Upon Matrims reaching for David up to backflip and landing Dex = 800. Speed with left arm from here on out: 700 due to burn damage. -100 on that arm per post that has left arm attacking, will stop lowering at 100 Dex. + 80 con. Skin is utterly imprenetrable.))

Matrim's attack was stopped, grabbed and he felt a rush of energy from David as he was quickly assaulted, thrown off by an initial attack and bending of his arm he was left exposed, and saw as strikes came in, Matrim realized before the thirty full hits to block however, and after about punch 7 or 8, his arms would be on guard in front of his chest taking the damage of the attacks, stinging the forearms with each blow as he was pushed back until David retreated finally. Matrim dropped a bit down onto one knee, catching his breath as a hand clutched at his chest.....
Blood coming from his mouth... one of the only exploitable weaknesses Matrim had was being used, and he decided it was time to think more seriously, igniting in flames throughout his entire body, not to help with the attacks already made, but to the fact that no matter how fast David was, he would burn himself touching Matrim. He may be fast and ordinary flames wouldn't do the trick, but the aggressive and strong nature of his Qi would prove to be something you didn't want contact with.
"Pretty good," Matrim would say, standing up and wiping the blood from his mouth, letting out a small cough, "But lets skip the easy stuff yeah?" He said, knowing full well he wasn't as fast as David, he could at least speed himself up enough that he could prevent an onslaught of attacks, he would run at David, keeping his fists relatively close to his chest, paying note to the more vital areas of the body and preparing for a counter he would aim to punch David's left side with his right fist, and aim to throw a heavy blow of his own at Davids sternum with his left fist, bringing the fist down like a hammer to connect the front with the sternum.
Assuming these attacks missed he would immediately bring his arms inward to protect himself, knowing that his best chance was to try and minimize his damage while attempting to get a hit in on his opponent. He would be able to move a lot quicker having activated his Qi, and though his chest had been bruised up by the strikes, his arms had taken most of the punishment, and for that they would sting with each strike that might hit.

As he thought, Matrim immediately ignited his Qi, knowing now that David had in fact activated him. Whether the Captain knew it or not, this was a very high honor. David didn't activate it for anyone- however, his own chances of fighting on terms with Matrim had diminished with the burn on his left shoulder and chest. He wouldn't risk more then he had to, and with the blood, he knew that what he had done had hurt the man. Now David was no fool- fight fist to fist with Matrim? That he could do with the energy boosts both recieved from the Qi. And though his skin was rough and hard, it was only to the point of repelling penetrable attacks. He would still feel heat, and getting burned was not on his list of priorities today.
Instead, as soon as Matrim moved, David would vanish from his spot, and Matrim would seem to be standing alone. Where had he gone?
A shadow would be on the ground five feet in front of Matrim, the boy likely looking up.
David would be mid air, and in his hand? A board, large and weighted, grasped in his hands, having been pulled from the near-new fence around thm. It had to have been remade since Leon and David destroyed it last time they fought.
He would swing down as soon as the Captain looked, the board aimed for his skull. Whether it connected or was grabbed or even dodged so it hit the ground, the board would break, snapping in half. If it was grabbed or broken on the males skull, David would whip the half he held around with a violent speed, torquing his body with the intent to smash the boy in the side of the skull. If this hit or missed David would Vanish again, and this time break another board over the Back of Matrims skull, his face set in determination. He would backhandspring twice before landing and waiting for the repercussions.
Plus, he needed a breather. Moving at that speed was...well...tough.

A board came down, and the only downfall to this was that when objects fell they fell at the same speed, leaving Matrim capable of bringing his hands up, as the board came down to catch it, the board snapped in half as Matrim pulled causing him to have to step back to keep his balance only to have that section of board come whipping around, not getting the larger part of skull, but definitely the face, and with the break that took place there was a cut across his cheek, the gash bleeding as his head turned away.
Only to be hit forward by the back of the head, and while the weapons hurt the wood broke easily thankfully, Matrim took a few steps forward and turned slowly, his vision had blurred and danced around a bit before slowly returning to normal. Luckily his skull was pretty thick, metaphorically anyway, because he wasn't going to let that stop him. A devilish grin would emerge beneath the flames, as he stared at David, "Good," He said, "I would have hated for this to be easy."
Matrim started walking toward David, he knew by now he would never catch him, running or walking, so might as well walk, wait for the next attack, and then try his best to counter it this time. He was faster but it was still hard to perceive the movements. He knew David would aim for vital areas though, head, heart, ribs, and possibly even go low to knock him off of his feet. So Matrim would try his best to react to touch as he walked forward.
If by some miracle David hadn't acted by the time Matrim had gotten there he would reach to try and grab David around his entire face with his right hand. Then again, that's only if by some miracle he waited for him that long.

SOmehow the sound of shattering destruction could be heard for some ways off at least to those whose senses had simply been magnified over the past month give or take. Gabriel was a bit late on the scene enough for him to feel guilty for jumping in and taking advantage of their weakened conditions. He didn't want to have an unfair advantage when fighting these two powerhouses rather he'd fight them honorably at the same level when next the time alotted. Though it was tempting to go in against them. He grinned devilishly from his perch watching enviously.
"Whose going to win I wonder..." He didn't honestly know he had an incling feeling last he met with MAtrim he was holding bak something, but in the same sense he hadn't fought David in quite some time, at least things looked even at this point.
Still Gabriel remained at a distance watching curiously, hitting himself for not getting there sooner to cross blades against the two men. His rivals in a way.
