--Day 3.
They say that for one to repossess their memories, one must find a trigger. For Mitsuki, the trigger was nothing tangible - it was something one could not perceive through the five senses. Or perhaps Mitsuki never really repressed her memories to begin with? Maybe it was how she coped with the stress, by pretending the stressors did not exist. Regardless, Mitsuki awoke in the middle of a night, scream caught in her throat, sweat glistening on her skin. She stumbled out of her bed, tripping over her belongings until she successfully managed to get out of her room and into Reita's. They weren't siblings by blood, but they looked so similar to one another, and their personalities, at times, were identical. He had been her caretaker even before coming to California, and she was, oddly enough, comfortable to sleep in the same bed as him, and he silently made more room for her. No protesting? Well, the two had a symbiotic relationship, both interdependent on one another. With them being at an age where separation is almost imminent, would this be considered to be unhealthy? Possibly.
"Another night terror?" Reita asked, but received no verbal reply from the female. Instead, he felt her head bob up and down against his chest. With a quiet sigh, he pulled the covers over the both of them, and fell back asleep.
This is only the beginning of her final farewell.
OOC: It's 9:00pm, and I told myself I'd only post up what I write until that time limit. I plan on finishing Mitsuki's goodbye hopefully before the end of December. :)

--Day 21.
It bothered her.
She flipped the lights on and off frequently throughout the night, always in search of something, but what? She received worried looks from Andrew and Reita on several occasions, but what she found peculiar is that they never asked what she was doing and/or why. Then again, she had to remind herself that they never really asked anything about what she did unless they found interest, and Mitsuki simply ravaging through the house was, apparently, not enough to spark something within them. She was becoming more and more frustrated by the hour, and being sleep deprived was also of no help. The night terrors were to thank for making Mitsuki want to fall into a vegetative state. She would have felt much better if she knew what she was dreaming about, but that's just what night terrors are: Nightmares you don't remember.
Sleeping next to Reita only kept the night terrors away for a brief period of time. After Reita, Mitsuki drove to Andy's apartment and slept next to him, and if that didn't work, she wouldn't sleep at all - or at least, try her best not to.
The only thing positive that turned out in her life was that she had graduated high school early and got accepted into multiple universities. And, with all her AP credits, could get her undergraduate degree within 2-3 years. Her plan was to become a pediatric doctor, but when she overheard some students talking about the Marine Corps... Reita and Andy both were not fond of the idea of Mitsuki enlisting into the Marines, but they both never told her why.
"I'd at least like an explanation-" "Tsuki, I'd like to have easy access to where you are in case of trouble. Unfortunately, joining the Marines hinders-" "Reita, you can't protect me forever-" "You're right, but I'm still going to try." "You got accepted into UIC's GPPA program, and you're going to reject them for the Marines?"
Mitsuki remained silent for a moment...
"Let me know when you're ready to tell me the real reason."

--Day 23.
"Mitsuki... We need to talk."
Absentmindedly, she nodded her head, feet trailing behind Reita, looking more dead than alive. Andrew was in the living room, his foot tapping impatiently against the carpeted floor. If Mitsuki weren't so tired, maybe she would have noticed, but it seemed as if Mitsuki was missing a lot of details. Sleep deprivation can do that to a person, y'know? And apparently, Reita was saying some pretty important things, but unfortunately for him, his words were going in one ear and out the other. They caught wind of this...
"Mitsuki... It's imperative that you listen carefully to the words I'm about to say."
The gravity of his voice snapped Mitsuki out of her little trance, and she stared at him, brows raising in confusion. Her eyes darted over to Andy, wondering if he would give her any sign of what this conversation might be about, but his head was turned to the side, his eyes gazing out the window, as if he wanted nothing to do with this talk. She turned back to Reita and nodded her head, as if telling him to continue.
"I'm going to be blunt, Mitsuki. Andrew and I didn't tell you at first because we thought it would be in your best interest. However, we now see that this is effecting your mental/emotional health in a negative way, and-"
"Cut to the chase," she cut in. She had a migraine starting to form, and his long, unnecessary explanation was only speeding up the process.
Reita remained silent, and spoke up. His words, at first, had no meaning to her. Her eye brow raised again momentarily before dropping, showing signs of confusion, then anger, then more confusion. As his words settled into her, she looked over at Andrew, still somewhat confused. She didn't understand.
"Mitsuki, did you hear me? You have a daughter."

--Day 31.
Mitsuki was at the airport with Reita and Andy. She was not on the best terms with the two, and so the entire ride to the airport was absolutely silent. She had not forgiven the two yet for keeping such an important part of her life away from her, but holding a grudge was also tiresome, especially when Andy and Reita being so apologetic. Still, she waited in front of the Gate A, her hands patiently folded in front of her.
The day Reita dropped the bomb did not end too well. When Mitsuki gets angry, she keeps it in. She went straight into her room with Skye and locked it; she pushed her dresser and her drawers in front of the door, along with her bed and everything else that was in her room. She barricaded herself inside her own room for hours, until they somehow managed to push their way in by taking apart the door. Little words were exchanged between herself and the two, but they apologized, and continued to show their apology through actions. They explained to her, slowly, on what she was missing, including the ripped pages of her journal. They told her what they knew of Andrew Black, and that they believed he was dead. They informed her that she still thought he was alive, or used to.
During the information debriefing, however, all she could think about is her baby girl. What did she look like? What foods did she like eating? What makes her happy? Would she be happy with Skye?
This eventually led to Reita contacting their parents to have them send the baby over to the States. They step-parents were visiting their biological parents over in Japan, which is where the baby was at the time being. So, their step-parents agreed to fly over with the baby girl...which is who she was waiting for at this moment.
Sierre Misaki Park.
Her birth certificate states the father as Andrew Black, but with Mitsuki not being married to Andrew, and with Andrew being dead, she adopted Mitsuki's last name.
Skye followed faithfully behind her when Mitsuki ran towards her parents, her eyes locked onto the small human in their arms.

--Day 42.
It was decided.
Mitsuki, Andy and Reita all packed their bags. Andrew didn't have to, but he did anyway; Reita and Mitsuki had no objections since he was already like family. Her step-parents agreed to move in with them into their new home so that there would be someone reliable to look over little Sierre. They sent their bags to the house ahead of time, and her step-father and Reita was in the moving truck with their furniture all somehow squished inside. Most of their belongings were donated. Andrew and Reita both sold their cars for a lot of cash, and planned on getting better ones at the new home. Mitsuki's car, however, would be driven by Andrew. She did not want to buy a new car.
Sierre, herself and her step-mother would remain in California for a couple extra days, mostly because Mitsuki said that she would like some closure with few people. If given the chance, she would visit the lovely sunny state, but she figured she would be simply too busy. Regardless... She wanted to first formally say goodbye to the few people she considered friends. If not face to face, then at least through a letter.
Then, she and Sierre would hop on a plane for Chicago.
Were you expecting some sort of dramatic ending? Some death, maybe? Nah. Mitsuki's going to live a normal life. Or at least, the best she can. A lot of details were missed because I'm too lazy to type it all out.
And this is her final farewell.

"Mitsuki?" David entered, dressed rather fashionably. his dress pants topping off the rather snazzy outfit. He came forward, waiting for the girl to catch his eye before he gave her a hug. Woah- hold the phone. David, giving someone a hug? Yeah, he did it. For several reasons. One, his damn Dragon told him to. Two, he felt something in him rather...anxious at her arrival. David was a part of Regalia now, and he personally felt the current School Captain was nothing compared to her. He...rather missed the girl, and knew thier last interaction had hurt their relationship. He would pull away and stare down at her, his wall momentarily down as he let more words he would regret saying later seep through. "Before i find out why we're called here, i need you to know that i'm sorry for how i acted when we last spoke. Things have rather...changed for me." He would clear his throat, throwing up the wall of his emotions before she could speak again, this time asking her rather simply as he took his seat. "So, what is this about?" He assumed she would probably tell him to wait for the others, in which case he would, eyes looking over her facial features, her body posture, her overall demeanor. Something seemed different about her, important. He would wait, and watch, giving her clear headaway to make what statement she would.

Post by "Unfettered" on Dec 12, 2009 19:59:29 GMT -8
"Hello" How do you begin a day that changes the rest of your life?
For "Unfettered," his day started normally. Fights. More scars. School. Laughter. Smiles. Hanging around. Cooking. Managing. Homework. Text message from Mitsuki Park.
..."Hm," the German noted, raising his brow, as he looked at his cellphone. Raising up his head, he looked up at Tai, who was busy managing the schedules for their group as well as his own."Tai, I'm going to need to borrow you for a moment. Something to add to the schedule."Chewing on the eraser of a pencil, Tai looked up, uninterested, his spiky hair threatening to cut the air around it."Yeah? Alright, sup?""...Meeting with Mitsuki Park at 5 o' clock at a coffee shop," the German replied nonchalantly, completely normal with no signs of anything wrong as he looked straight at Tai in his eyes.
The pencil dropped from Tai's mouth, as his eyes widened and his brow raised."Fuck. You mean that chick?"...Smile."Yes. Tai. That. Chick."Smile.
Smile.
Smi-* * * * * * In "Unfettered's" Room * * * * * * "FUCK."
"FUCK."
"FUUUCK." The room was unlit, as Tai kept his lead pipe on the door to bar it from the inside. More screaming, more yelling. The German's cellphone was on the wooden ground, in pieces, as the German proceeded to swipe his side table completely clear of its lamp, clock, and other miscellaneous possessions off, breaking several of them."THAT BITCH."Punching the wall with his right hand, "Unfettered" ran over to his bed, suddenly tugging it up from its side to have it flip over with a loud crash."THAT FUCKING... FUCK, BITCH."
"ERRRRRAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!" Tai just stood by the door, watching without batting an eye as the German's hands bled, and were quickly frozen only to be driven through the wall before tearing through them in a horrible zig-zag."MAKE UP YOUR FUCKING MIND, YOU FUCK-BITCH!" Oh yes. The whole restaurant and all the tenants of the upstairs and current floor could most definetely hear what's going on. The music downstairs, however, began playing Death Metal so as to seemingly go along with it to the displeasure of the customers' stomachs."ALIVE?"
"DEAD!?"
"MISSING!?"
"ALIVE AGAIN!?"
"SCHOOL CAPTAIN AGAIN!?" Pounding. Pounding. Pounding.
...His right knee.
For a moment, there was a flashback to when he barely helped Mitsuki Park take down the "God," Hades. He was just a distraction at the time. For a long time. Declaring war and never doing anything about it. Telling her to never lose and hearing of how she forsook it. Twice. Hearing about her being killed. Hearing about her missing. Hearing that she was still... somewhere... from Victor. From fucking Victor, who didn't even go to Public High School #259 originally. To see that David Blaze take over for her. To see their Emily take over for him. To see the Student Hierarchy completely disgraced, here, now, in its present form.
...To suddenly get a text from her from out of the blue.
From her.
Ever since they met.
What was the meaning of this?
Why couldn't...?
How come...?
W-
...
"Unfettered's" room was a mess. Destroyed. Walls torn up. His knee thoroughly destroyed.
...The bones being kept frozen by hardened blood as even then he continued to hurt himself for anything, everything, nothing was the only time that Tai went over to stop him.
Was that a wolf's howl? Was that a thrush death knell?
...
Were those tears?
..."DAAAAAAAAAAAMN!" * * * * * * 4:45 P.M. * * * * * * The temptation to not come just to spite her weighed heavily as a strong option of his, but with Tai's assurances and his logic working again, the German went on in spite of self-inflicted injuries. None of his usual gear. Just an ironed, buttoned-up, long-sleeved white shirt with some dress pants, since this was apparently going to be quite the meeting. Wearing a normal eye-patch, he stood just a couple of stores down, watching for any of the others who were invited to come. No smiles, but he had a serene, quiet look on his face.
That's when David Blaze appeared.
Curious, that of all of them, they were all seemingly people who got along with just fine while in the process of mutual disagreements of varying levels of violence occured. Hehe, Emily. Silly Saint. Mr. Blaze. And Thrush.
"Thrush."
...
Another snap went on in his face, he knew what he was going to do.
For old time's sake.
It was only a moment. The suit still fit on surprisingly well. The only thing that took away from it was the crutch he had to use, as well as the pain killers he was abusing to put up with the current self-inflicted situation in a calm manner.
Walking in with the familiar old hat hugging at his head, hiding his eye, the German hobbled quietly in after David Blaze, ordering a coffee. Saying nothing as he got to the table, looking at nothing, the German only raised his head.
Happiness and anger went hand in hand right now. And even in hand with an unnerving calmness that decided to seal his mouth shut.

Emily had been staring out the window of an extended period of time earlier that afternoon. Lots of things had happened recently, several of which included things that Emily partially regretted. In the end, she was merely human; a mere bunch of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen pulled together with several other minerals. That was not to say that human life could be compared to these things but--- 4:48pm. The white haired girl was in distress, at least, her mind was. Her face feigned some level of uneasiness as she peeked inside from a corner of the store. Emily had arrived around the same time as "Unfettered", only that she had seen him, or what looked like him enter the cafe first. This made Emily slightly hesitate. ... No, that was not the time for that. Pulling herself together, Emily popped a pill into her mouth and swallowed as she entered the cafe. Besides still being dressed for work (at a maid cafe not so far from this one), her hair was left white for personal reasons. Maybe to keep in characfter with the character she was cosplaying as for the day, but-- She decided to infiltrate from the sides. "Good Afternoon, 'Tsuki. David." She said, greeting as soon as her eyes fell on them. She stopped however at the last one, her stoic grin disappearing for a second before it appeared again. "... Winters." She said, pulling back a chair before sitting down. She didn't exactly expect him to be here, considering what Em knew--- But that was mostly why Emily kept quiet, and why she sat closer to Mitsuki than "Unfettered". That didn't explain why, despite all this, she had a grin on her face that didn't exactly demonstrate her discomfort well.

It was five minutes to five when Zachariah finally found a parking spot and made his way into the café for this meeting. Having come directly from work he was wearing a simple black suit with a white collared shirt underneath and a blue tie. The former long-standing pillar to the longest standing captain in 259’s history made his way into the building and quickly located the group for which this meeting was designed. Mitsuki, Emily, Jonathan, and a person with whom Zachariah was unfamiliar, were all already gathered. Slowly he made his way over to the table and spoke politely with a smile and a nod.
“Hello all.”
Zachariah made his way around to an open seat, which happened to be next to Jonathan. There might be something to say about that and the fact that these two didn’t get along all that well, especially since Zachariah seemed to get along with everyone. However any of that was pretty much irrelevant as they were here to hear whatever Mitsuki had called them here for. Zachariah merely folded his hands in his lap and waited. He could contemplate, conjecture, and guess at the meaning but it would probably guess undo stress and concern.

The first to arrive was Mr. David Blaze.
She was taken back by the sudden twist in his attitude, and unfortunately, she was beginning to get the idea that he was a little emotionally unstable. The sudden sincere apology only made her nod silently, feeling a little suspicious but, in the end, relieved to know that he was no longer an angry man. If his apology was true – which she believed it to be – then Mitsuki had no reason to hold a grudge against him, no matter how unforgivable she believed his little stunt to be. And besides, holding a grudge is a lot of hard work.
David was right when he assumed what her reply would be, but unfortunately wouldn’t get the chance to hear it, because her attention had been taken away to a certain male who had just entered into the café. Skye had been sitting faithfully next to her, and he, too, seemed to have recognized the white haired boy who walked with a limp. Mitsuki wasn’t sure if she should smile because Thrush had actually shown up (actually… she should probably call him Unfettered now, shouldn’t she?), or if she should frown, because he was hobbling his way over to the table. But, once she came to realize what his attire consisted of, she could not help but crack a grin, especially when she caught many eyes staring at him in disbelief. Swastika, anyone?
Skye approached Unfettered once he sat down, and Mitsuki had no qualms. Actually, her attention was once again diverted when a female walked into the room, wearing a rather cute outfit that caught the stares of a good number of people, just like Unfettered, but for different reasons. It was as if Emily was unintentionally provoking the males in the room. Oh-ho-ho… Of course, Emily’s outfit only made Mitsuki’s grin grow, not because she thought it to be funny in any way, but because she found the situation now actually very amusing. On one side of the table, there is a Nazi. On the other, a cute cosplayer. You know, they might as well have been polar opposites in terms of costume.
And after Emily, there was Saint, dressed in formal attire. It seemed as if everyone today were dressed specially for one reason or another, making Mitsuki feel a bit out of place in her black jeans, white v-neck tee and gray sneakers. Still, Saint’s arrival made the group feel more complete, and, once everyone was in a seat, she would start explaining why she asked everyone to gather.
"Thanks for coming, guys," she started off, and then continued, "Of all the people I’ve become acquainted with during my high school career, I consider you four to be, more or less, my friends, so it means a lot that you came."
Wait, so why was she talking as if high school was in the past?
"I graduated from 259 several weeks ago, which is probably why you haven’t seen me around school much. I’m moving to Chicago with my family in two days, and I wanted to formally say goodbye rather than perform the disappearing act that I am notoriously known for," she grinned.
"I also gathered you guys today because I need to speak with you each, one on one. I’m sorry, but I figured meeting individually would take up time, which isn’t something I have much of at the moment. The decision to move to Chicago was very sudden; if I had known, I would have asked to meet in private on separate days. Regardless… I have some explaining to do, some things I want to get off my chest – in a good way, of course."
"I plan on making this as short as possible, since it is a Saturday night, and I’m sure you guys already have plans to tend to, considering how last minute I asked you guys. If you find that you can’t wait, I’d like a mailing or e-mail address, since… What I want to say is not necessarily important to you, but, it is to me."
She had a lot to say to Thrush – a lot to explain why she did what she did, and to possibly answer any questions he had concerning her whereabouts. She had little to say to Saint, but Mitsuki seemed to communicate well enough with him without much need of words – she simply wanted to express how thankful she was, since he had actually made a bigger impact on her than one would expect. With Emily being a female companion, Mitsuki felt that she should know what had happened during her disappearance – a question that was left unanswered the last time they met. And David Blaze was here because he had been one of the first to call her friend.
"I’m sorry this meeting is incredibly flawed; I don’t like to keep people waiting, so you are more than welcomed to leave. I am, however, bribing you to stay until we talk with free food and beverages, so…" she smiled, and left her words hanging.
"I’m sorry if this feels oddly formal. It seems as if I lack the expertise in the area of ‘social gatherings’…"
Nevertheless, whoever she spoke to first, they would be at a booth. Relatively close to the table everyone else sat at, but far enough to make the conversation inaudible.
To DAVID, Mitsuki would say: "You know, I still can’t believe you used such a horrid method of trying to get me to open my eyes. I’m not going to lie – it worked, but I sincerely think you need to apologize to that girl for involving her into business that she was never a part of. But, I’m not here to lecture you – I’m actually here to thank you for the training, and that I will teach my daughter accordingly so that, if we are ever to meet in the future, she WILL kick your ass." Laugh.
"Yeah, I have a daughter. It’s a complicated story, and not a story for your ears. But, that’s also partially the reason why I’m moving away from California. I didn’t graduate early so I could move to Chicago with my daughter – no, I actually graduated before I even knew I had a daughter… I just wanted to get a head start into my career, and with all the college courses I’ve taken, it seems as if I can get my undergraduate within two and a half years." Pause.
"I got accepted into a prestige program at one of the schools over in the Chicagoland area, and my step-parents graciously offered to help raise Sierre. My friend Andrew told me I’d be a fool to reject the position…"
"But! Enough about why I’m moving. I just wanted to wish you luck at 259, and I’m sorry about breaking a promise. But, because I am now a graduate, I can no longer fight for the title. I just wanted you to know that, after our last fight, it made me seriously think about the current pillar system, and that I would have continued training with you – but grudgingly if you hadn’t apologized." Short pause.
"Knowing I have a daughter changed a lot. I’m rambling now because I can’t remember everything I wanted to say. Maybe I should have written it down…?" Head shake. Smile. "Nevermind. Give me your E-mail and I’ll tell you if ever I remember."
To EMILY, Mitsuki would say: "Well, would you look at you?" Laugh. "You caught a lot of eyes in this room!" Pause. Deep breath.
"Emily, you are one of the only females that I’ve become friends with. I grew up around boys and, naturally, felt more comfortable around boys because a lot of the females are very…emotional." Awkward smile.
"I wasn’t always apathetic; I was actually quite the happy young girl, but I’ve been taught to suppress emotions because they get in the way – and most of the time, they do. I never understood until recently what it meant to follow your heart instead of following your head – logic always seemed to prevail. I know of gut instincts, but…heart?" Deep breath again.
"Emily, I have a daughter. When I disappeared, I was already a month into my pregnancy. Sierre was born a month and a half early and I was told she was a still born child. To make a long story short, because we were on the run, my brother knew that having Sierre would hinder us, and more importantly, place the child in immediate, unnecessary danger. My brother managed to somehow bribe the hospital staff and the fact that Sierre was born without crying helped his situation."
"I was emotionally unstable, but two months after I gave birth, we returned to California where I then found out her father died." Smile.
"But recently, I was told that Sierre is alive. She’s actually at home with my step-mom right now. Cutest little doll I’ve ever seen, but that’s probably a biased opinion.” Laugh. “Wow, it feels good to tell someone outside my family!"
"I’m going to miss you. We’ll keep in touch through E-mail. Give me updates and stuff on your love life, yeah?" Wink.
To SAINT, Mitsuki would say: "I know this might be a little…how should I put it? Surprising? Awkward?... But I remember very clearly every time we met. I won’t list them unless you ask me to, but each meeting, to me, was very unique and memorable. Not only that but… Something about you just seems to have a calming effect on others that I don’t quite understand. I don’t think anyone can pull that off…but regardless, being around you calmed me down some."
"It’s odd because I think I trusted you from the get go. I usually don’t fall asleep around anyone unless I’m in my own comfort zone (like home), but when you’re around – and please, don’t take this offensively – but sleep feels like it’d be a nice idea. Not because I think you’re boring – which I don’t – but because I feel oddly secure."
"I also always thought you to be a really mysterious guy. Not that I don’t understand you, but…" Pause. Grin.
"Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I admire you, and, sometimes looked up to you. I’m glad I chose you as my pillar, and there isn’t anything to regret except that I didn’t get to know you better. Good luck with 259, stay out of trouble, buckle your seatbelt when in a vehicle… And let’s keep in touch, yeah? We’ll exchange E-mails!"
To UNFETTERED, Mitsuki would start: "Ha… It seems as if I have a lot to explain to you, don’t I?" Pause.
"I don’t know where to begin, but I suppose the best place to start would be at the beginning. I never expected you to actually fulfill the bet of being a slave when we first fought, but you did. I thought long and hard before I decided to let you go, only because I liked you, romantically, and I was scared."
"I wasn’t scared that you would reject me. I was actually scared that you wouldn’t, because if we were to date, then you’d be a potential target and a visible weakness of mine. It’s not that I thought you couldn’t hold your own ground either – I was simply taught that emotions are a weakness, which is the reason why I often suppress them and is seen to be apathetic on most occasions."
"So I did what any girl would do – I let you go. I never anticipated, however, that you would eventually turn on me. That we would become, more or less, rivals, despite the fact that we never really run into each other – ever. I didn’t think that you would declare war on me, only because I guess, in a way, I wasn’t over you at that time. I don’t think you realized how confused I was when you bought me Skye, and why you acted the way you did."
"Regardless… The first time I disappeared was because I was on the run. I won’t go into detail, but we put up my death because it would give my brother and I time to create some distance between us and California. When I came back, I reclaimed the Captain title, but ended up giving it to David when he beat me in a fight. Knowing that I wasn’t physically capable of performing such feats like David really made me realize I had a lot to work on."
"But I graduated early…and I got accepted into a college far from here. And that is basically the entire story dramatically shortened. I’m sorry, I truly am." Looks at Skye.
"He was trained, you know. He’s an intelligent dog… He follows commands based on the pitch of a whistle." Smile. Smile fade. "But… His home is in California, and I don’t think he wants to go to Chicago with me. I won’t be able to provide Skye with the care that he wants and needs when we move; he’s still a puppy, only around two years old, you know?"
"I didn’t know what to do for the longest time, but I thought maybe you might want to take care of Skye in my place- if not, I’ll take him to Chicago with me. I just didn’t want to put Skye in the hands of someone who doesn’t know him." Pause.
"I know I’m asking a lot of you – you’re probably extremely busy as well, which is why it’s only an option if you’re willing to take Skye under your wing."
OOC: I got lazy towards the end. Lo siento. Thread is almost over. :)

So that was the reason, Mitsuki was leaving not only 259 but Long Beach and California behind to move to Chicago. Sure it was unexpected and shocking. There never really seemed to be even the smallest inkling of this coming departure and yet, Zachariah did not show shock or dismay. Strange that he seemed to show no real emotion for this announcement. Did he not care? Did he not believe her? No… he had a strange feeling inside of relief, sadness, and hope. This odd concoction of emotion was, in part, what kept them from showing as their confliction made it physically daunting for such feelings to show outward and that they forced him to be conscious of their presence and allow their suppression. But where did they come from? Well the hope was simply that it wasn’t really a goodbye, as though she was dead… they could, no… would, see each other again. The relief was that she was moving on with her life and that she had found something for herself. The sadness was simple… Zachariah was going to be losing his only friend in all of Long Beach, someone he cared for deeply. That was never easy.
So as Mitsuki spoke to each of them separate, Zachariah waited patiently and silently until it would be his turn to speak with her. What would she say? What would he say? What did they really have to say? It was a small dilemma.
When it was his turn, Zachariah strode over very calmly and took the seat opposite Mitsuki, his usual gentle smile gracing his face though perhaps slightly faded in comparison to other times. He listened politely to what she had to say, a small blush coming to his tan cheeks at the compliments, or at least that was how he saw them. He spoke only when she paused after mentioning his mysterious nature and only to say a simple two words.
“… I know.”
Sure, Zachariah could fix that and tell her of his past but this was neither the time or place for such a discussion. That beast was better bottled for a time later in life perhaps… but for now it was best to part with their memories as they were and let her leave without the heavy knowledge of what he’d gone through. He nodded as she continued and mentioned that they should exchanged e-mails to stay in touch.
“Sure… and you be careful out there in Chicago, alright?”
