(ooc: This takes place after "Hunting The Clan" and I am giving Arthur the benefit of the doubt as far as damage goes. Cause I know how he likes to fuck up my characters. XDD )
She had been taken to the nurses office at school after that guy, who she still had no clue who it was, had finished with her. She had been minding her own business when all of a sudden she was being attacked. From what she could gather it was for no other reason than the guy had something against her family.
Not that Astrid could remember. No, she had pretty much blacked out at some point and all memories of the event were clouded over in her mind. Not to mention the pain she felt running through her body.
She had suffered several broken ribs, a fractured jaw, broken nose, internal damage as well from the shockwave he had thrown at her. Yes, she had fucked her up, not to mention she currently had a hand print burned into her stomach.
The girl was small enough as it were. Very petite in frame, and now, laying there in that hospital bed, she looked even more so than ever before.
Normally Astrid was not one to let her fear show, not one to let things get to her the way most people would. But this was different. She had NEVER been hurt, with the exception of the night her parents had died. Up until then she had been sheltered and kept away from fighting in general.
Now however, she was thrown into a world where it happened all the time, alone...completely and utterly alone and now had been hurt more than anytime in her life by some guy she did not even know. Landing her in the hospital, ALONE.
Yeah, the tears slowly falling from her brown eyes at this moment were more than justified. A soft whimper escaping her as she looked about the empty room and tried to lift her arms to hug herself. BUT...one of those was broken to and instantly she was reminded of that as pain shot through her.
Sure, they had her on pain medications, but they could only do so much. She was still young and small, so they kept the dosage low. She would have killed to have her mom here. It was always her mother who had taken care of her. Who had sheltered her and kept her safe when her Father was away. Or at least if she had her Dad, he would have made sure that this type of thing never happened.
She missed them so much, it tore away at her on a daily basis, but right now, it hit home more than ever. The emptiness of this room only forcing the reality of her situation upon her. She had nothing.
Sure she had Uncle Leon and Spike, but they were both always so busy. Then there was her Aunt Eury, but she was out of town still. Leaving Astrid here, again, alone.
Trembling softly, she would turn her head away from the door, eyes looking out the window that rested at the other side of the room. She did not know what to do anymore. She was so close to losing her home from lack of money to pay the bills, she was unable to really fend for herself at this time, and now this. It was all just too much for a sheltered 15 year old girl. Way too much.

Eurydice laid on her bed staring up at the ceiling, her mind wandering through her thoughts. She didn't expect any of this at all. She was three weeks pregnant and of course experiencing some mood swings. Then again pregnant women are much more sensitive than usual. She was dressed in a pair of beige loose cargo pants and a black tank top, her legs were dangling off the bed, occasionally swinging to and fro. Until something struck her mind. ~Wait a minute... They didn't invite Astrid to stay with us?!.. Urgh! Men!.. How could they do something like that? Poor girl has no family other than us, and probably no place to live and they just, urgh!..I swear I--~*Phone rings* "Hmm?"
Answering the phone, Eury's eyes widened at the news she was receiving. More bad news. Astrid was in the hospital, apparently she had been severely beaten. Without any thought or even saying 'thank you' to the doctor that called, she dropped the phone and ran for the door forgetting her car keys momentarily before going back for them. Wasting no time Eury started up the car and headed as quickly as possible to the hospital where her niece was currently. As she drove she could only imagine how Astrid could be feeling at this moment. Her intuition told her that Astrid must be so scared and feel so alone. Sudeki or not, she was human. She was not immune to such feelings. Finally arriving, she parked the car kind of crookedly; she didn't care anyways and ran inside. Demanding the room that her niece was in she did not wait for confirmation to go in. With her sneakers on, the best for running mind you, she ran down the hall skidding to a stop in front of Astrid door. She almost skidded right past it at first. She was a little out of breath as she opened the door, seeing the small girl on the bed. Instantly Eury's eyes softened watching Astrid tremble; her heart went out to her. Her voice was soft and welcoming as she came closer to her from behind, sitting on the bed next to the girl's frame. One hand would come to touch her head, the other upon her arm.
"Astrid.. It's ok.. I'm here, ok?.. You're going to be fine.. You're safe now..."[/ul]

Astrid was looking out the window when she heard somebody enter. Not sure who it was and figuring it was a doctor when all of a sudden she felt the gentle touch upon her arm and one on her head. That familiar voice being spoken...
She almost lost it right there. Those brown eyes turning back to see Aunt Eury there. She thought she was gone!!!
"Aunt....Aunt Eury??"
That was it....she could not keep this up any longer. Instead she would break down, tears flowing from her eyes as she shifted her body as best she could toward her Aunt.
"Th..They are gone! They killed them! I..I am all alone!"
Barely able to speak as she trembled softly and tried to reach for her Aunt.
"They left me here alone......I want my Mom......."
She tried to continue but she could not...thoughts of her Mother filling her mind as she struggled to catch her breath. The pain of her ribs hitting her with each sobbed breath she took in.
Tears continuing to flow down her cheeks as she hid her face against her pillow the best she could....She had been trying to be strong for so long that it was not even funny. But then she would do so again soon enough. But right now, she just could not keep it back anymore.
Somebody had beaten her to the point of hospitalization just because he did not like Uncle Leon. What was that supposed to make her feel like?
Heh.......
Her small hand, the one she still had use of, going out to touch on her Aunt. Still not sure the woman was real. Hell for all she knew she was imagining this.
It would not surprise her really. Going crazy after all this. Not a big leap.

Watching her bury her face, and reach out for Eury her eyes started to water as well. She hated seeing her family in pain. Yes though Astrid was more so related to Leon than herself, she was still family to Eury. Leon's family was technically Eury's. Eury didn't have any family of her own. No brother's no sister's; none that she knew of or even remembered anyways. She didn't know or even remember what it was like to have parents. According to Kilik she was his sister that he took in. Odd, would think daughter when one would say it that way. But again all Eury really knew was her life with Leon and her family. Astrid was always more than her niece in her eyes, she was like another daughter. Eury allowed a tear to fall from her cheek as she laid down next to Astrid on her side and brought her closer to her form. Embracing her gently but still firm. A hand would rub gently on her back in attempt to calm her down as she would speak softly to her once more. "Sshh, they didn't mean to leave.. I know you want your mom.. I'm so sorry sweetheart.. But I need you to calm down a little, you're hurting yourself... I know I'm not your mother but I'm here for you, I love you and I'm not going anywhere.. I promise you...But I need to know who did this to you?"[/ul]

She felt her Aunt move to lay beside her, those arms wrapping about her and holding her as she tried to comfort her.
It was hard to think of anything but her Mother and Father. She needed them so badly but she would never see them again. They had been her entire world and in an instant the Katashi's had taken them away from her.
Trembling still she sniffled heavily as she struggled to regain some form of control.
"I..I do not know who it was....It was some...thing! He...He was burned...everywhere...an..and he kept speaking of....of how w...we hurt him..."
Yes, we as in the Sudekis. They had done something to him apparently and because of it...he had done this.
"H..He said it wa...was a message to...to Uncle Leon.."
She cried a bit more, burying her face against her Aunt as she continued to sob lightly.
She was so glad to have somebody finally, but inside she was terrified of losing it all again. She did not sleep much at night. And when she did, she woke up screaming every night. Nightmares of the night her parents were killed eating away at her. The little thing was a wreck. To say the very least.

Eury held her closer. Still rubbing the small girls back gently. There really wasn't much she or anyone could do right now, other than be there for her. Reassure her that things were going to be ok. But when someone goes through the things she has, it's hard to believe that they would never lose anything again. They live in the fear of losing. The fear of not being able to be control, not being able to save the ones they love. It can mess with a persons mind to the point of no return. Push them into a darkness that can begin to suffocate them. Eury did not want that to happen to Astrid, to any of her children. Her brows frowned with her own anger building for the situation. One thing that was for certain was Eury was not going to leave Astrid here, even if the doctor was to say she needed to stay. Eury could provide her with a doctor to take care of her at home. "I don't care what he's damn reasoning was... He had no right to do this to you.. But we'll deal with that in due time... Right now, I'm going to take you home.. Before I do I want you to remember something... No matter what no one and nothing can take away who are you..They might be able to break you physically but they can never break your soul - your spirit... Never let them get that kind of satisfaction you hear me?"
Eury leaned and placed a kiss on top of the girls head and smiled, looking down at her."We're going home, ok?"[/ul]

She listened to her Aunt speak and would whimper softly. Home? Really? She was not sure whether to be happy or not. It was just so much to take in.
Slowly she would lift her head to look up at her Aunt as she ran her tongue over her lips. A sigh passing her lips then as those tears started to slow slightly.
"H..Home?"
Surely Aunt Eury was not going to make her go back to that small cramped apartment that she had rented with what was left of her family money? She really did not want to go back there by herself.
But at the same time, she did not want to think to much into the woman's words. She hoped she meant home with her, but honestly she did not think she would.
Part of her thought that Uncle Leon did not want her there. He had not asked himself and she had taken that as a sign of her not being welcome there.
Which would be understandable...cause yeah....she was not direct family. They had their kids to raise and take care of. She was just an added burden.

Eury gave the girl a soft closed eyed smile, whilst she still stroked her back seeing as she was finally calming down. Eury shifted slightly still keeping a hold of Astrid as she reached for two tissues from the tissue box that was on the nearby stand with the other. With one of the tissues she would wipe away Astrid's tears, before gently lifting her up into a upright position with herself - handing her the other tissue so she could blow her nose. Gently she let her go, and sliding off the bed but still standing near. Stretching out her hand towards Astrid's hair would push some of her locs behind her ear, still holding a warming smile. She seemed a little surprised at Eury's mention of home; and Eury somewhat had an inkling as to why."I'm taking you home with me... Heh, what? Did you think I wouldn't? I think you should know me a little better than that Astrid... Leon can be a little absent minded; he's a man remember that. Men are not all there upstairs, most of the time... Haha that's why they need us females to fill in those gaps.. You're family and always welcomed at our home.. We have plenty of room, literary... You can pick any room you want. We can even change the decor to fit your fancy... Ok? Unless you want to go back to that apartment, just know I won't let you anyways."
Eury flashed that million dollar smile. Of course she was trying to lighten the mood just a little for both of their sake truthfully. It wasn't a funny situation but she wasn't going to let Astrid be sad the entire time. Keeping that smile Eury headed to the door, stopped and looked over her shoulder momentarily, speaking before she left to get a doctor."Besides I'm sure you're hungry and don't want hospital food... We can eat before we get home... Pizza? My treat."[/ul]

She would let those eyes get as big around as they possibly could...An actual home again? Her own room? Gods she was so happy right now!
A smile slowly curling on her lips as she took that tissue and blew her nose. Ugh! She hated crying but yeah, she did her fair share of it as of late. Though usually she was alone.
She would then laugh at Aunt Eury's statement about men. Yes, it was true.
"Yes, the boy I met seems to be a bit absent minded at times."
She would blush lightly and then shrug, a bit shy about the talk of boys, which was funny cause around Cody she was anything but shy.
But then the mention of the holy grail of food was brought up and again her eyes widened...mouth watered......she actually whimpered....loudly.
"P..Pizza??"
OH GODS YES!!!!!!
She would have been bouncing if she did not hurt so bad. Oh! She could get pepperoni..no no no....supreme....no no no.....sausage...GAH! So many to choose from.....ALL OF THEM!! She was so hungry. She could eat like 3 larges by herself. Yeah she may have been a small female but this was PIZZA we are talking about.
It was the blood of life in this little girls eyes. No doubt about that.

Eury was no different than with her own daughters. It was certainly a good thing too that she did have a teenage daughter, and 21 year old ; whom was her adoptive daughter. It made it so much easier to deal with teenage girls. Eury didn't exactly recall her teenage years, so yea. Eury chuckled as she saw Astrid's reaction to her food suggestion. Eury knew that pizza was the magic word to a Sudeki. It wasn't to Eury, well she wasn't a blood Sudeki anyways. She loved pizza but it wasn't her obsession as it was theirs. Sweets were the thing that made her act like a child. And Leon was such a tease when it came to her sweets. He was so evil sometimes. "Haha.. I thought that would cheer you up.. I'll be right back ok." With one more quick smile she left the room to converse with Astrid's doctor. Of course he argued against taking Astrid so soon, but Auntie Eury argued back harder for her niece's release. No was not the answer that she was going to accept. Eury could get Astrid the best doctor to keep an eye on her at home. Eury knew that Astrid needed to be home with her family; with people that loved her. The doctor couldn't really argue with Eury; aside from the fact that Eury was a hard woman to win against in a argument. Leon knew that all too well. She had been gone, probably no more than ten minutes. And when she came back she was rolling herself in the wheelchair that was meant for Astrid into her room. She had her big kid moments too; but it was more so to make Astrid smile and laugh. Eury giggled as she entered the room rolling herself close to the bed."Weeeeeee! Hehehe, I really couldn't resist.. You should try rolling it down the hall SOOOO much fun!...Heh well come come missy, let's get you in this chair and out this depressing place... Your chariot and pizza await." Eury stood up from the wheelchair with a smile, holding her hands out presenting the wheelchair like Vanna White would on the Wheel of Fortune.[/ul]

She was listening. She really was, and she was happier than she had been since she had finally found Uncle Leon. BUT, she kept having images of pizza in her mind now. Her tummy growling at her as Eury would leave the room.
She of course would wait there. Not like she had whole bunch of places to be going any time soon. Sighing softly as she looked up at the ceiling. Only to hear her Aunt coming back...in a wheelchair.
Unable to help herself, she would laugh softly. Her hand shooting to her ribs as she did this, in turn touching upon that burn mark. FUCK. That hurt!
But in the end she would simply smile and nod, pushing herself up to sit and then slowly sliding from the bed.
She would somehow manage to get into the chair and whimper as she sat down. Gods it hurt to move.
Biting back the pain as she settled there and then cast a look up to her Aunt.
"Thank you Aunt Eury.."
Her tone soft and broken as she fought back more tears. Nope, not happening again. Sooo that was all she would say for now.

Eury kept that warm smile on her face to mask her own pain and anger for the situation. Pissed off wasn't even the phrase to describe what was building inside of her. In truth her blood was boiling; smoldering hot. A member of her family had been greatly hurt. Her family had been threatened, there was certainly hell to pay. Blood was in the water now. But on the outside she maintained her composure. Gently she spun Astrid around and giggled as she pushed her through the door and into the hallway. Crouching down a little behind her getting in a ready position. "You ready?" A playful devilish grin formed on her face as she eyed the hallway. Good thing it really wasn't so busy for what Eury was planning on doing. All in the name of making someone laugh. As soon as Eury got some kind of confirmation, even if it was 'ready for what?', she would quickly start pushing and running with the wheelchair and Astrid down the hall. She wasn't kidding when she said Astrid should've tried it. She pushed it all the way to the front door, everyone staring at them like they were crazy. Slowing down, Eury eased out the door laughing at what they had just done. Before she realized how poorly parked her car was in front of the hospital. Truthfully it wasn't suppose to be there either, but whatever it was an emergency. But the awkward angle of the way it was parked is what caused Eury to cock her head to the side after addressing Astrid.
"Hahaha.. I told you it was fun right?....Well let's get--- Wow, I knew I just whipped into the spot but damn did I really park it that crooked? Heh, oh wells. Thank god I didn't get a ticket... Matter fact let's go before I do!"Eury chuckled nervously as she wheeled Astrid closer, unlocking the door then coming over to give her a hand. She knew it probably hurt like hell to move especially so soon. But she knew Astrid was a fighter, she'd push through it. But Eury refused to let her stay here relatively alone. She felt she would be safer at home with family. Once Astrid was in the car, Eury would come over to the driver side and get in, starting the car up. "Sooooo... to the best pizza in town other than my homemade pizza?"[/ul]

She was unable to help laughing as her Aunt pushed her down the hallway and to the door. She always did love this woman. She had always been so much fun.
Shaking her head she would brush her tongue over her lips as they made their way outside to the car. Nice car....>.>
She would then struggle to get herself up. The pain being fought back now as she drew in a deep breath and tried to stifle a whimper as she managed to get herself into the car.
As her Aunt went around and climbed into the drivers seat she would turn to her and smile. A warm and happy little smile. Something she did not offer up much these days.
"Yes...I would like that."
She would lay her head back against the seat, those eyes closing lightly as she let her mind run over the things that had happened in the past couple months.
So much had gone wrong. She only hoped that this was the time for things to start going right. It had to be. Right? What more could possibly go wrong in her life?
Yeah, best not to answer that question. In this place nothing ever seemed to really go right.
But for now, she would sit back and enjoy what happiness she could get with her family. Besides..no matter what, she always had them...and to her that was all she ever needed.
