Ryu was up on the roof. Today was an unusually warm day of fifty or so, so there he was. Though, as always, he wasn't in plain sight. He was up above the roof access, laying back in the sunlight. As much as he might like to be, he wasn't asleep. Things to think about, things to do. There was dried blood on his face, and a sealed up cut over his brow. His body ached, but he was relatively alright. It was this coat that was doing him in... He'd never noticed it in the past, but this thing really fuckin' hindered him. Maybe it's powers were starting to kick in. Maybe it was starting to test him.
Such was only one thought among many. Another was the students he was beginning to glean. He'd just spoken to Gilgamesh, Devon was already out of the hospital. That only left one. That crazy Addie girl. Crazy for the simple fact that she seemed to be a glutton for punishment. She tracked Ryu down and asked him to help her get stronger. Offering to cook for him to do so, no less. She had to have known that he would just kick her ass again. Hell, she had tracked him to the roof where there was no separating her from a forty foot drop.
Yeah. She was crazy.
Breathing in, Ryu shifted slightly in his laying position up on top of the roof access, trying to sleep.

She had been recovering, from the first run in with Ryu, as well as a few scuffles with various other people, as well as a fight with Gabriel Seran. She was sore, especially her face, although it was expected. Especially after some of the attacks dealt. Her face was bruised still, although it was nothing more than a annoying stinging when she spoke or smiled too much. Lessons learned, Gabriel was effing speedy. Her gloved hands were in the pockets of her black short shorts, there was the a scar on her leg before they met with the white fabric of her thigh high stockings. Clack met with white, that met with the black of her knee high heeled boots. Her shoulders showed through the shirt with thick red ribbon straps. The shirt was black with white buttons and frills along the top and the bottom of the puffy shirt sleeves. In the middle there was a red ribbon, perhaps influenced by sailor moon or school uniforms back home. There was a smile on her face as she moved, with her swayed the blue suspenders that hung down from her shorts. Her hair was loosely pulled into pigtails that day, just like old times. Regardless of the warmth, she wore her black and white toque, on top sat her goggles; just normal for her.
The days had passed slowly, a blur of fights, fun, and the odd accident. She couldn't help but feel a little accomplished with things and the way they happened. Even if she never held a victory in her hands, there was one thing that she could be sure of; she was getting a stronger, a little bit at a time. As days passed, things lingered in mind, she wished for an answer. Even knowing she had probably asked the wrong person.
Why would he say yes?...he'll probably clobber me.... if I go ask. Although, I'm going to ask anyways. I mean, it's been a while, right? He should have an answer.
Making her way down the almost barren halls, the brunette looked at all the classes as she passed. They were full of students and the teacher was busy, it was so nice to have a little time out of school every now and then. One gets restless with too much sitting in class.
The stairwell to the roof.
He was there, he had been the day she questioned him. There was no doubt about it, Ryu had to be there. A wild guess or not, she'd make her way up to the roof. Walking slowly as she mentally prepared herself for whatever was to follow. There was only one thing she could keep in mind: STAY THE FRUCK AWAY FROM THE LEDGE. When asking a great deal out of a scary person, be on guard. There was a part of her that trusted the young man enough to believe he wouldn't throw her off the building, but there was also the fearful voice that had slowly grown quiet over time; becoming nothing more than background noise.
The door creaked open as she took a step outside, the sun looking down upon her. It was so warm. Tilting her head up to the sun, she'd smile, the warmth upon her face. Addie would stand there for a moment before looking around. Where was Ryu? Scanning the visible areas, the girl would come up with nothing. Of course, he wasn't there. Damn it...
Making her way to the wall, she'd lean against it for a moment before taking up space on the ground. At least she'd get to enjoy the day a little. "I guess he's not here... I thought for sure he'd be here..." Addie mumbled to herself as she closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth of the day and the silence. No loud students... it was lovely.

As much as Ryu would like to have, he still had yet to fall asleep. Eyes closed, his lids shone red from the light of the sun bearing down on them. He was all too aware of the door below him opening, as well as the footsteps taking caution walking out onto the roof. Why they were so careful, he didn't know. He also didn't realize who it was. Not until after her back hit the wall, and she slid down to the rooftop. As soon as her voice hit the air, Ryu's eyes snapped open. Well speak of the crazybitch. Shit was just all too convenient for him today. He couldn't help but wonder what was up. Oh he was enjoying the fact that the main hall of building one would have yet been cleared of the bodies after Ryu had spoken to Gilgamesh than little miss Balfour had popped up, but he just couldn't help but wonder what the fuck was going on that shit was aligning for him like this.
Standing up silently, Ryu leaned over the side of the roof access and his bright blue eyes spotted the girl in all her insane-outfit glory. She was a strange one alright. Sure, not every one dressed in all black and called it a fuckin' day, but what she was wearing was plain nuts. Scooping up his backpack, he carefully put the thing over his shoulder and peered over the side of the roof access once more. A small grin reached his face as he decided to have himself a little fun at the girls expense. Though, to be honest, he didn't know how surprised she would be. From what he'd seen so far, Addie had a very strange way about her. Logic said she'd be scared shitless if he just poofed into existence right next to her, but logic wasn't something that applied to this world, so it seemed.
Regardless of such speculations, Ryu silently padded his way to the edge of the roof access. With a small, soundless jump, he dropped relatively in front of the girl. About a foot and a half to her left and facing her, Ryu crouched low to absorb the impact and reduce the noise of his landing to that of a light footstep. Staying in the crouch, his right elbow would lean on his right knee, and his left arm still had his backpack thrown over his shoulder. The second her eyes would open to see him, "Hello." In a relatively friendly tone.

It was peaceful, she had almost forgotten why she was up there. It was just so comfy and warm, there was no way she was going to class. A cat nap didn't hurt anyone, right? She sat there for a while, her eyes closed and her head resting against the wall. So nice....but I need to go look for him... Straightening up, she'd hear someone greet her... How odd, there wasn't anyone up there before. Smiling with her eyes closed for a moment more, the brunette would say: "Why h-" She opened her eyes, to see him."HELLO THERE! I didn't see you there."
The brunette's voice rose from normal, to high, to normal again. Seeing Ryu there was a shock, but his tone of voice wasn't too scary... He had just startled her... Looking at him with wide eyes for a moment, she tried to gather the facts. They were on the roof and Ryu was there... HE WAS A FRUCKIN NINJA. She smiled at him.
"I was hoping I'd see you." Addie spoke calmly, even though she was a little bit frightened....a little bit...just a little. Although, she didn't wish to act too weird, in fear of making Ryu unhappy. Act cool...act calm... be chill, you'll be okay.....maybe.

She really didn't know how right she was. The entire first sixteen years of his life he was a ninja he even, for the last six of that, wore a mask. That was two years ago, though. Now-a-days, he rarely used his ninja prowess, although now more than several long months ago. Now he periodically snuck up on people, and walked silently, case in point here. He didn't even use that fighting style any more. Still knew it, you couldn't get rid of fifteen some years of knowledge without a major fuckin shot to the head. But he had more of a blended style now. Even and extremely well balanced that played across all styles, using everything he knew to fight. That was the way it ought to be.
Staying in that crouch, Ryu looked the girl in the eyes, his own husky blue piercing eyes displaying much seriousness and even more wizened experience. With all the shit he'd been through, he was quite a bit of an old soul, like many people here. She, however, had most if not all of a look of innocence about her. Ryu and any other minds present in that jet black covered head could tell that she was a good person. It was an odd thing to be dealing with 'good people' again. He had some of it in dealing with Mitsukai, but even she had her issues and violent side. "That's because I wasn't there." He said in the same tone, his voice still as deep as it ever was.
Shifting his elbow on his knee, he stayed crouched in front of her, cocking his head slightly. "I was looking for you, you know." He let that sink in a bit. Mess with her head. Despite the face she put on, you could tell she was intimidated by Ryu at least somewhat. How much was yet to be seen, but you really couldn't blame her. The first time they'd met, he was in the middle of a rampage. Blood covering his brow much like it was now, only it was fresh and his covered eye was glowing red. She had tried to stop him, and he asked her how bad of a beating she wanted, then proceeded to smash her through a solid wood door. Yeah, pretty obvious.
Standing up now, his knees cracked audibly, and he faltered. Damn this jacket sometimes. A gust of wind blew past them of the jackets own volition in reaction to the thought, dropping the temperature from fifty to thirty-five for about three seconds. Looking down at the girl, Ryu extended his right hand to her, looking to help her up. "I talked to my roommate, she agreed to you coming to the house."

It was weird, had he really gone looking for her? She smiled at him regardless, happy that she'd finally get the answer. although if she was ready for it or not, that was another story all together. She couldn't help but feel a little uneasy, regardless the girl tried to fight against such feelings... CONFIDENCEEE!!!!!
"I'm sorry about that. I was looking for you."
There was a bit of a temperature drop as she sat there, which wasn't very nice. It had been warm early, which lead her to dress for warm weather.... Regardless, it wasn't bad enough to warrant a coat from her. Nothing like Alaska. Ryu stood up and offered her a hand, accepting it; she'd get up.
"Really!? That's awesome!" Addie smiled as she looked up at Ryu.
At least something was going the right way...FINALLY!
In the house? There was a moment where Addie was confused, she was going to live with him? Silent for a few moment's, she tried to recall their last meeting. dot dot dot....WHAT!?..confusion.
Tilting her head to the side,"I'll be living...with you?"

Ryu tilted his head slightly. That answer was very multi-faceted. "You did say that you'd be doing the cooking and living in the house would make that work out easiest. Not to mention make training easier, since you'd be right there." He'd relinquish the gentle grip over her hand and slide his right hand into his pocket. "There is a training area in my house, after all." He let that stand for a few moments before saying, "But I suppose all of this depends on your current residential situation. If there's something keeping you where you are now.. If you live with your parents or a roommate, then that's fine. But if not... Well, let me put it this way. Each guest room has two beds. There's three guest rooms. That's six people. More if there are siblings or some such who wouldn't mind sharing a bed. And currently, there's only me and my room mate, neither of which take up a guest room. I have more than enough room to accommodate you."
He'd then back up slightly, dropping his backpack to the roof. "It's up to you." With a slight shrug, his hand sliding out of the jacket pocket, and his arms raising, his right foot sliding back. Aye, they were going to fight now. Did you think that Ryu would just say hi, tell her the news, and leave? If you did, you're an idiot. She may have been bruised and tired, but she was in better condition than those few days ago when she tracked him to the roof the first time. To make things more even, Ryu was tired, sore, and had the jacket on his back restricting his striking force and sapping his endurance.
Bottom line was, right now they stood on relatively even ground and they were going to be training soon enough any way, so why the hell not?

So accommodating, it was a little odd. Sure, it was nice, but why was he so willing to help her? There was a moment of uneasiness as she stood there, smiling trying her best to think of a logical response. There wasn't much that she could say, after all... She had lived there over her lease and way paying month by month. A new home? What about Dist. Tilting her head to the side,"What about my snake? You don't have a no pets rule, do you?"
She had so many questions to ask, after all living with someone who put her through a door....Yeah, that sounded like fun. Although he wasn't as bad as he seemed, after all he was willing to give her a new home...For some cooking, which was nice. nice... nice...
No sooner had she said that, Ryu was in position for a fight. Of course, it was only to be expected; it was Ryu after all. ....expected... Smirking a little, the girl would run in and strike. Pulling back her arm, she'd get in close and go for the face. Obviously,s he always did that for lack of a better idea. A little hopeless, she knew, but she wasn't sure. In the past, they'd make the first move.

Ryu tilted his head slightly in thought and his bright blue eyes stayed locked on the girl. "Not sure. I couldn't particularly care, but my roommate might." He said in a normal tone, giving a slight shrug as she moved in. Good girl, she was getting the picture. He wasn't going to go hard on her. Perhaps not even take off the jacket. Watching her speed, he realized that his eyes weren't working properly. That wasn't good. He could still react to her moves well enough, but he couldn't predict where they were going. Not. Cool.
Shuffling to the outside of the arm, his critically superior speed whipped him aside, using very limited movements to cope with his jacked stamina. With a flick of the wrist, the arm closer to her smashed the back of his fist into the base of her elbow, looking to push her arm well beyond where she intended to aim as well as numb it by hitting that nerve. He had to play it smart here. He could already feel that she was stronger than he was at the moment. A sad state of affairs, but nothing that could be done...
"What kind of house do you have now?" He'd ask as that other hand of Ryu's would use a burst of the huge man's full measure of speed to back his lacking power in an open handed palm strike to the side of her stomach, looking to launch her back and away from him a bit. Perhaps even opening her up for follow up strikes. Keeping his breathing even and in rhythm with the combative interaction thus far, Ryu paced his stamina to cope with his vastly superior speed. Right now, he was four times as fast as his endurance would allow. He could take a lot of shit, but that was getting hazardous.

"He's really lazy and'll probably just stay in the room."
As she moved in, he'd hit her elbow, sending pain up her arm and down it. Why ever someone caleld it the funny bone had a sick sense of humour...BECAUSE IT HURT. She couldn't land a punch because she started to lose feeling in her arm. Always the best time to lack her right arm. Biting her lip, Addie tried to inore the weird feelings from a numb arm. Something she hated... errggg.....It feels sooo wwiieeeeerdddd She didn't really want to fight that time, especially since they were on the roof..
"An apartment.."
Before she could do anything, he attacked! Far to fast for her to even try to defend, Addie was forced by the attack to the stomach. Almost losing her balance, the girl would move in close once again, Running forward and jumping off to the side, only to go for the back of his legs with her foot. Trying to bring him down...
Nummbbb arrrrrrmmmm.......
She could deal with a lot of pain, always able to get up and keep fighting... But when it came to things being numb, she was too easily distracted by the weird feelings that surrounded the arm.

Ryu nodded at the comment of the snake. Whether it was taken out or not, people who had problems with them had problems with them. It wasn't like Ryu wasn't strong enough to deal with the thing should it get out, but even still, is someone hated snakes then they wouldn't be able to live with it. Then as she commented on her residence. An apartment was good. As long as she dealt with it by herself, she had no ties to the place. ...Unless she had a lease, that would suck. "You live by yourself?" He asked. The next question would be that lease bit, but he had other things to worry about for the moment.
Observing her speed again, he measured just how fast she was. Compared to Ryu right now, she was impossibly slow. She moved slightly faster than his eyes, but his body was way too fast for her. As she moved in, he kept to his stamina preservation and simply watched. His torso turned along with his head and he kept an eye on where she was going. As she moved around him, he had a feeling he knew what she was going to do. The girl may have been a little dumb-- you had to be to go after Ryu like she did that first day-- but she wasn't stupid enough to think she could get behind him entirely. No, she had to be attacking from the side.
Seeing her legs move in the manner that they did, he realized what she was doing at the last second and did the only thing he particularly could in that situation. He jumped. Under other circumstances, he would have made the vertical leap short, and drop down directly on the persons leg. This would quite obviously shatter it. But no, she was not an enemy. Not even an adversary. Not even someone standing in his way. She was not yet a friend, but there was reason not to harm her.
Soaring several feet into the air, he seemed to hover there for a second, legs pulled up under him. Dropping back down abruptly, he curled his arms up and whipped them down, using gravity and a taste of his speed to add to his power. As his body dropped behind her, his right hand dropped for the side of neck. A decently powered chop right for the artery. It would do less actual damage than stunning, but it would leave her very open as his other hand came in at the same time.
Another open handed strike, Ryu's left would smash down for her stomach again and with the drop of his body, this would serve to effectively throw her all the way off her feet, and knock her down to the ground in front of him. In this way, Ryu would effectively have the girl pinned as he'd be crouched to the ground with a hand pressing down on her stomach, and a hand near her throat.

"I live alone..." Her voice was a little cold as she went for the legs of Ryu.
it was a shame he had jumped, avoiding he attack. She had really wished to kick him, just a wish to land a few attack; right? That was she wouldn't feel one hundred percent pathetic. Making his way down, he's hit the brunette on the back of the neck. Frozen, standing still, whatever it may be called; she was a sitting duck. Her opponent went in once more for an attack!
POW! RIGHT IN THE STOMACH!
......good thing she didn't eat lunch before hand, right?
She was thrown to the ground rather roughly, which by the way HURT! Followed by uncomfortableness whilst being pinned to the ground whereat she was thrown...
BASTARD D<
Looking up at the young man who's hand grasped near her throat, she stared up at him with a serious look. He had won the battle, as to be expected; it was Ryu after all. Grabbing his wrist with her left arm, Addie would try to push Ryu back. Who wouldn't, the battle wasn't over until the fat lady sung.....or until she fell off...NO! NOT THAT! ANYTHING BUT THAT. Trying her best to avoid thinking about such gruesome things, Addie focused on mainly kickin just a little more. AFTER ALL! Giving up just was not her cup of tea!
I think I can! I think I can! I think I can! I think I can!

Ryu nodded slightly as she answered, the look on his face so plain, it was as if this fight held no effort behind it. Under normal circumstances, he might have a large grin or a look of anger reached across it, but here it was straight forward... No anger, no particular joy, just accepting of the situation such as it was. For what it was worth, her power was decent. If one took nothing but the lower tiered fighters, her strength could be called 'good'. Her ability was another thing. Definitively below average. She knew a little bit, but she didn't know how to use it. Against the schleps of the school, she could most likely hold her own well enough, but against the actual fighters, she'd be in just as dangerous a situation as she potentially was in right now.
To say she had potential would simply be retarded. Everyone had potential. Their skills could sky rocket given the right motivation. The issue was how to get that motivation. That motivation, though, was what Ryu saw in her. Or was beginning to, at least. She had guts, but did she have the will to go up against the upper tier of this school? Did she have the drive to become more powerful than any normal human ought to?
Ryu was already beyond the realm of human beings. Of 'Normal' people. There was an old saying, 'He who fights monsters should take care that he himself does not become a monster'. If the people standing out on the street were normal human beings, than Ryu was already a monster. At his strongest, he could smash down an oak tree with his fist and hurl it across a field. And he still had a long...long way to go.
"That's good. What about a lease?" He asked as she went for his wrist. Tightening his fist, he prepared to use what strength he did have to avoid what she was trying to do, but it was a simple matter of getting him off of her. That was something he was likely going to do in a moment any way. Standing up he backed away rather quickly, letting her shove off give him a bit of a boost. "Do you have a month to month, or a yearly?" Setting up in a right facing stance, his arms rose up again, keeping a loose boxing stance. No need to hurry and waste his own energy. If she wanted to keep going, then she'd come for him, and prove that she did have that drive. At least a little.

He squeezed a little tighter before letting go and getting up. Addie would look up at Ryu and smirk a little, she was having a little fun...Regardless of everything. "It's a month to month lease." With that she'd get up and look to Ryu. Still ready for a fight, as it always seemed like he was. Although, she was getting a little tired. but that wouldn't stop her!!!! NOT THIS TIME! Moving forward, Addie would once again try a tired old trick of a head on assault, going for the face! She wished for once to be able to do something! ANYTHING! D< TO BECOME STRONG! To become fearless, to be able to rush head first into battle without thinking about the things to follow. She threw the punch, in hopes it would land...IN HOPES SHE'D HURT HIM....All for fun of course. POW RIGHT IN THE KISSER!? ? A girl can hope, right!? RIGHT!? RRRIIIGHHHT!? There was one thing to be said, she had no idea what she was doing! Hopefully, that would change.....Eventually! Hopefully! I can do this....Probably not! its worth a shot though! Confident in failing, but knowing she'd try. .__.;; That was Addie.

That wasn't what strength was about, though. Fearlessness, running head long into battle. No, those were weaknesses. She would learn that in time. Hopefully before it was too late. Before running in without thinking got someone killed. Before fearlessness put her up against a God. Someone above the upper tier of the school. Before she got herself killed like she almost had against Ryu.... Though in contradiction, her fearlessness is exactly what saved her. Her brash assault of someone so clearly superior was what had him give her enough respect to not continue to bash her to pieces after he threw her through that door. Ryu grinned slightly "That's good." His eyes back hard at work and his grin slid off his face. "I'll take you to the house after we're done here. You don't have anything else going on today, do you?" He was talking, naively, only of school. Considering that he himself was a school-home-and-back sort of person with few extra curricular things involved-- with the exception of the odd black market trip, of course-- and that he was in the middle of a fight, and thus reduced to a more simplistic social way of thinking, it was no surprise that anything she might be doing after school didn't even click into his head. No, he was only thinking whether or not she had any qualms about skipping the rest of the school day. There was only an hour or two left any way, but that wasn't the point. Now then, back with the eyes and the grinless focus and the ass-whoop cans. Ryu reached for that can-opener as he watched her dash in. Again, her low speed was evident, but he paid it no particular mind. The speed hadn't changed, and that meant that he had to account for nothing new. That was what he paid attention to in regards to her physical ability. How was he going to have to adjust? How did his opponent change from one second to the next? It happened periodically. Especially in these schools. Someone would be holding back, or someone would get tired or injured. Someone would, for example, take off their jacket and suddenly be twice as strong as they just had been. Once it was determined that they were the same, as the case here, that part of the thinking process was removed from the current moment, and the mind focused on the rest. The mind focused on where each part of the body was headed. In a situation such as this, when Ryu wasn't superior to his opponent in every manner, he had to place concern on every little detail of the adversaries body. The way her clothing shifted, the way her muscles moved, the way even her hair moved in the breeze of her short run. Problem was, he didn't have a whole lot of time to do these things. So what did he do? Gave himself more time. With two small steps and a sharp kick off of the ground, Ryu sailed back a couple of yards, and gave himself the room to see what she was doing. At first glance, it looked like she had learned something. Her tricky move hadn't worked, so she was going linear. That was good. Adjusting to a new situation, bred from the opponents reaction, and trying something new. Thing was, she should know from both their last encounter and the speed he was displaying now, that straight forward attacks weren't going to do much. Ah well. Maybe next time. Ryu whipped back and shifted his body so that he was leaning to the inside of her attack and away. The hand to mirror hers whipped up in a semi circle outward, looking to crash his knuckles to the inside of her wrist in a block that was extremely indicative of his first Martial Art style. It was a basic crescent block that struck for the tendons of the wrist in a short, fierce movement. Bashing the things that held the fist together, it not only pushed the arm aside, but stunned the fist, and stopped the hand-- at least for a second-- from wanting to maintain its grip. Following up on his Ninjutsu moment, Ryu would slide from the block, to turning his fist into a Boshi Ken position. Looking to stab in quick, his thumb would jab into the space between her ribs just below, and just aside of her bust, digging in viciously before whipping back out. Superficial damage that was mostly focused on causing temporary pain. Surface pain.
