It had been a long time. Quite awhile actually since Quan had seriously fought anyone or at least fought them to the end. Yeah, most of the time he didn't fight and even when he did fight it was mainly to the point where he could make an opening and then get away. Now however he was was fighting until the bitter end. Well, no that was kind of misleading. No he was not fighting to the death but rather he was fighting to the usual school end. To the knockout mainly, or uncle. Whatever really. Quan was just looking for a good fight. A fight to learn and a fight to grow. He was trying to get stronger. A lot stronger. He needed to, had to. His rival wasn't going to wait around. He was already strong no doubt, he had to be. And Quan was certain he was getting stronger every day. Quan knew that he was behind. He knew that playing catch up had to happen. Serious catchup.
This was fight number seven right here. Fight number seven this week actually. To tell the truth it was only tuesday. Yeah, Quan had skipped the vast majority of his classes on monday and today was looking to be more of the same. He fought vigorously with somewhat of a subtle desperation. If he was supposed to be here then Quan honestly had no idea when he would be seeing him. He could show up after this fight for all Quan knew and he needed to be ready. As it stood he was no where near that.
But Quan shook the thought from his mind. He knew that he had to have his mind clear for these things. A clouded mind meant that he would loose. He needed to give the fight his full concentration. He ducked under the kid's hook, spotting it relatively easily.
He had noticed that over the course of the past few fights that he had a few natural talents. He could spot moves from his opponent;'s fairly easily. That was good, it meant that he could get out of the way. If he never got hit then there was no way that he could lose right? Second he had noticed that he was fairly good with countering and fairly "technical" stuff. He rose up from the hook dodge with a rising uppercut, having no particular form, to the kid's nose.
Things to work on.
A little blood came from the kid's nose, he was starting to get hurt it would seem. Power seemed to be lacking. Quan could usually connect his attacks if he countered but he didn't seem to be able to give them the "umph" required. That could be a problem. He knew that if he wanted to have any chance of beating him then he had to fix that. He didn't know how though. Lifting weights seemed like a step in the right direction but he didn't feel he was that weak. No he wasn't saying he was super buff or anything he just felt like there was a way to get more bang for his buck. A "straightish" punch cam Quan's way. He saw it and his arms made it up to intecept, just in time.
Two, speed.
His arms tinged with a slight pain. He had been blocking with his forearms a lot lately. He knew that there were ways to get around these attacks. He had seen them coming but many times he was too slow to move fully. He grinned at his block thinking, 'it doesn't matter that I can see it if I can't move.' Though at the same time he admitted that there was probably some other way to counter the shot if he had more experience. The kid was on the attack again.
Right as if it were clockwork that massive right came again. This time Quan tried something new. As the kid came forward Quan had punched for his chin, predicting that the kid would in fact show that punch and that his forward movement would make his weight work against him. Quan's face registered with some surprise as the kid toppled over. That had worked. Quan had felt it too. Unknowingly he had stumbled across the "counter-punch", great find. Quan chuckled too. That brought him to number three on his to do list, Stamina. He gave a few quick pants. He had worked up a sweat. Another "accidental" bumping into a bully fight complete. That made seven and o. Not bad but these guys had been chumps and Quan knew it.
'Have to find others...' the thought registered as he took the money out of the kids wallet, pocketing it...
OOC: maybe its a fight thread, maybe its not, whatevs.
