The dark side had a very compelling means of attaining those of a certain view point, cause cookies are awesome quite honestly it was withing human nature to be compelled by what was in their own personal gains rather than that of those around them. People were cruel and no one was exempt from that facet, there came a point when people figured that out and for Gabriel it'd been a long time coming since his naive roots disappeared.
He wore relatively dark clothes, though the coat, boots, gauntlets, and blade remained at his leisure more often these days, perhaps they were his comfort tools, a means of ushering away the subtle fear of certain folks to not harass him. Stumbling as of sorts to find his way home but of course not in the same neighborhood this one drastically different from his own overly large estates and he knew that.... or did he?
He stumbled his was through the door not recalling whether he broke it down or merely opened it, whichever the homeowners kept it was probably the more likely and he sat down in a chair as though prepared for a certain meeting. A look about the house uncertain as to whether they were home but judging by the dark storm of night probably inferred they were sleeping. To which he'd simply lay there lax but on guard in a house that was not his own. But of course he knew this, there was a subtle line of ingenuity behind it that kept him confident. Surely he was mad.
His palm pressed against his face in an almost irritated gaze fingers strewn so they hung the shadows in an ominous thoughtful light. His body angled in the chair to his left stern and focused on the doorway to appeal towards whomever may accept his appearance. Thought the reaction of breaking into another's house couldn't be welcoming of all things.

A quick bang filled the house as Sara slept, the sudden noise just causing her to roll over, cuddling into Matrim's back and immediately going back to sleep. The noise did manage to wake Shayne though.
It started as a soft cry from the small monitor on the bedside table next to her. Now that DID wake her up. She pulled herself from her sleep, mumbling to the lump laying next to her that was Matrim, that she had it this time. She had it every time. She pulled herself out of bed and grabbed her house coat from the floor next to it and wrapped it around herself as she moved from this room to the one across the hall. She didn't mind doing this, in fact, she preferred tending to Shayne rather then Gale. It let them bond... Even though Sara spend pretty much every second of the day with Shayne to give them more then enough bonding.
She pushed open the door to see Shayne standing and peering over the edge of the crib at her, sucking on his fist. She smiled, cooing to him as she crossed the room and scooped him up into her arms. "Oh my sweet baby!" She danced with him around the room, getting laughter and giggling from him. Just from experience, she knew he was hungry so she danced him out of the room and down the hall to the top of the stairs. She continued to baby talk to her son as she stepped lightly down the staircase. "How about we get you something to eat baby? Hmm? Is Shayne hungry?"
The only response she received was a gurgling laughter. Sometimes she wondered if he could actually talk but just chose to laugh at her rather then answer her. She reached the bottom of the stairs, staring at his face as she pondered, him staring back with the same expression. Interesting....
She turned a corner and at the base of the landing for the stairs, she ran her hand over the wall to find the light. It probably wasn't the safest to try to navigate this room in the dark. Now had her talking and making noise not already alerted the intruder that she was indeed home and on her way to the kitchen and she wasn't attacked before she found the light, she would flick the switch, lighting the living room and part of the kitchen to see Gabriel sitting on her couch. She swore, pulling Shayne to her chest as she backed against the wall, couching just slightly to prepare herself.
She practically growled at him, a mother protecting her child. Her mind fought over whether to attack or run. To attack left Shayne at risk and there was no fighting allowed around the child anyways. Her only option was running. But not before she at least made some attempt. "What the HELL are you doing here?" She turned, shading Shayne from view as much as possible. "Get out, or I swear, tonight your life ends." She was hissing the words quietly. The last thing she wanted was for Matrim to wake up right now. If he woke up... Oh god, the house would probably be destroyed despite the fact that it was his no fighting in the house rules. She didn't want to imagine what he would do.

Matrim heard the babies cries through the monitor, but only rolled over as he felt Sara get out of bed. He drifted off slowly, his eyes slightly open as he stared at the wall and drifted back into sleep. Of course, that didn't last since she had been dancing around and playing with Shayne without turning the monitor off, which woke Matrim up enough to realize he had to piss like a racehorse. So he got up and went to the bathroom real quick, hearing Sara go downstairs he decided he'd just head back to bed after his bathroom visit.
But when he came out he heard her talking loudly, "What the HELL are you doing here?" Matrim made his way downstairs to see who she was talking about, his eyes trying to focus a bit as he did, he saw who it was that she was talking to, but he quickly assessed the situation, if Gabriel came her for violence, it would have been done already. Gabriel wouldn't attack Matrim's child because he knew Matrim wasn't above hunting down members of Gabriel's own family as well.
And Sara knew not to fight around Shayne, but he knew that she would if it meant saving Shayne. And with her hands on Shayne, she wouldn't be letting go. Which was good, because that was the last thing he wanted to happen, "I see someone's making use of my open door policy, but that really just applied to school hours," He said, making somewhat of a joke as he walked up beside Sara.
"So," He said, "Why are you here?"
Matrim was containing his anger. If he lost his anger, this house and everything in it was in danger. He did want Gale to wake up, but he wasn't sure if she would considering the box of wine she downed that night. He looked over to Sara, and nodded slowly trying to signal that they were okay, that she needn't worry.

A calm scowl on his face turned to something of amusement at Sara's reaction, to be quite honest he found this part of the break in to be somewhat of a perverse enjoyment. Quite the sick base of hysteria considering Shayne's life could have never mattered due to Gabriel's actions, though in another instance he was still alive because of what Gabriel did to save the boy. Of course Stu was but an underlying facet towards all things that'd occurred at Moral Crest. And that is of course what would set this meeting off as odd.
Eyes traced attentively finding their suit to avoid Sara in this instance due to her, honestly quite rational behavior considering it was her but in the same attempt threatening his life which Gabriel sought fit to ignore not truly caring at her attempt at threats. However what interested him was Matrim entering without burning a palm into his chest right off the bat. But then again their scenarios often started as a battle of wit rather than that of force, escalation turned things into that rather. A perked grin at the option to speak rather than fight, thats what he was here for to begin with any way.
"I'm here to offer a deal to you, to both of you...."
Gabriel started, the first intrigue of words seemingly odd considering their bloody pasts and mismatched opinions of one another not to mention an incredible hatred among other things.
"A good and wise prince, desirous of maintaining that character, and to avoid giving the opportunity to his sons to become oppressive, will never build fortresses, so that they may place their reliance upon the good will of their subjects, and not upon the strength of citadels."
Gabriel rehearsed a perfect notation of Niccolo Machiavelli as though it had some purpose, for it did in a grander scheme though it took a good observation of the law to better understand such a remark.

She heard the creak of the stairs, and her eyes narrowed in annoyance, never leaving Gabriel's face. He had done it now. She had tried to let him leave without having Matrim throw him out, but now he was awake. She turned slightly more, hiding Shayne further as he started to whine. She honestly didn't know what to expect of Matrim in this situation, especially considering she was holding Shayne, but what he did do, was something she hadn't even considered.
"I see someone's making use of my open door policy, but that really just applied to school hours."
She growled in frustration, debating just putting Shayne down and attacking Gabriel, grabbing him by the scruff and tossing him out the door. This was HIGHLY inappropriate. Her gaze flicked to Matrims face and yet he still seemed unperturbed. She knew he was likely holding it in, but seomwhere deep inside of her, she had hoped he would have come down the stairs in a flaming ball of anger and destruction.
"So... Why are you here?"
She hissed to Matrim under her breath. "It doesn't matter, get him out of here." She bounced Shayne to calm his whining. She caught his nod and only seemed to get angrier. How dare he?! This WAS Gabriel they were talking about. In their home. With their child in the house. If she hadn't been holding Shayne she would have attacked already.
"I'm here to offer a deal to you, to both of you...."
Sara sputtered out a cough. Oh, a deal. How could she EVER have thought differently? Oh, deary me, forgive the misinterpretation of SOMEONE BREAKING INTO THEIR HOME! He then quotes something or other, or made it up off the top of his head, she really didn't care, the problem lied in what it sounded like.
"Are you trying to offer us parenting advice? I'm not interested in any deals. Maybe if you had chosen to talk to me without breaking in here in the middle of the night? Get out." She turned her gaze to Matrim, gently gesturing with her head at Gabriel and giving him a look that said nothing but "get him out of here NOW".
Her mind was already running though different scenarios of how to get Shayne out of here and still be responsible for beating Gabriel into a bloody pulp. It was true though. She may have entertained his crap, had it not been in her own home while she was holding Shayne. Although she had to give him points for being brave.

"I'm here to offer a deal to you, to both of you...." Gabriel had said, and Matrim thought about what it possibly could have been that he would propose. Not much to offer on his part. He could say something like 'I promise I won't blow up the school if....' but either way he wasn't entirely sure what was going to be said from the boy.
"Are you trying to offer us parenting advice? I'm not interested in any deals. Maybe if you had chosen to talk to me without breaking in here in the middle of the night? Get out. Get him out of here NOW." Sara had said, she was definitely upset about this whole ordeal, Matrim wasn't quite sure what was going on, and while his instinct to kill was there, it was definitely dulled. He wasn't picking up much about any of this, what he was picking up was some sort of plot or something. But that he was going to make a deal was a lot better than dealing with not knowing.
"We should probably listen to what he has to say," Matrim said, "We should at least hear him out...." He looked to Sara as Gale made her way downstairs.
"What the hell is going on down here Ma--- Is that him?" Gale said, her voice suddenly worried, Matrim's hand extended back towards Gale, palm out to signal for her to stay where she was.
"Sara, let's go out back with him. You can take Shayne with us or leave him with Gale," He said, "Gabriel, if you don't mind we should take this to the back porch. I'm sure you can understand why, things around us tend to go boom, and I rather like knowing this foundation is safe for our son. But I'm more than glad to listen to this offer. Would you like anything to drink?"
Yeah, that would definitely shock the HELL out of anyone there who had even known Matrim for about five minutes. But the fact was he wanted to hear this offer, it might work out in his favor.

Parenting advice? Hell no, what position was he in to even suggest that? A cocked brow was his only reply with a smooth roll of his eyes once more ignoring Sara's reaction though yet again not entirely dismissing her as irrational seeing as he did in fact break in. Then of course the overtly cautious reaction by Matrim, though it lead the question of whether or not he'd caught on to Gabriel's words or rather he had another secret yet to be uncovered that he feared for. Of course Gabriel remembered their chess game, remembering full well the lax appearance of luring Gabriel into the trap of all things. But back then Gabriel had been young and naive, whereas Matrim was his superior, he know at the very least had caught up in some respects.
"Gabriel, if you don't mind we should take this to the back porch. I'm sure you can understand why, things around us tend to go boom, and I rather like knowing this foundation is safe for our son. But I'm more than glad to listen to this offer. Would you like anything to drink?"
Gabriel gave a stern nod of understanding rising slowly as to not incite said exploding.
"Of course, I'd want only the same."
Gabriel would then lead to the outside using his broken in entrance making way to leave first seeing as he wouldn't want his back turned for all too long. A small mental snort at the joke of back stabbers. That'd never get old despite the fact that he was trying to move on with things.
As he made his way outside he turned quickly, a notable lurking sense to his appearance more observing than anything else. Of course breaking into your arch-nemesis' household in the middle of the night the sanity of which being questionable.
"As I said before I have a proposition, there are things that I want to achieve though it seems I've reached the length of my arm and while you've known me to be a very plotting man I'd like to extend my offer of an alliance...."
Gabriel grinned, yup he'd gone nuts. But of course that was the reasoning behind it, who would suspect two enemies to join for a greater purpose? Even if that purpose was quite questionable.
"To meet an end of course I don't exactly intend on this being quite one sided, that'd be foolish of me. But I realize since you've become Captain and Sara had become a pillar your interactions have been mild, your acquaintances not exactly as you'd like for them to be. Perhaps we can assist one another."
Gabriel said quite confident of himself though the reaction he was completely unsure of, the confidence a mask in order to reach a goal and the sour taste of referring to his once harsh foes as new found alliances.
"If anything it'd get me out of your hair and off your lawn..."
He smiled patting his feet on the front lawn with a certain repose to his figure deciding against disrespecting the scene as he'd done upon his first brutal interaction with Matrim and the pillars.

"We should probably listen to what he has to say. We should at least hear him out...."
Had everyone lost their minds!? Her jaw dropped slightly as she searched his face. What the hell was Matrim thinking? She had expected him to drop from the ceiling in a flaming ball of fury, but instead he was actually suggesting they listen to Gabriel? Shayne was fidgeting now, eager to get to the kitchen and eat.
"What the hell is going on down here Ma--- Is that him?"
Oh goddammit! Her eyes turned to Gabriel with fury. He had managed to wake the whole house. She had a feeling he was the reason Shayne was awake right now. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Matrim signal to Gale. Sara wanted to back up, to give Shayne to Gale so that her hands would be free, but in some part of her mind, she wondered if that was Gabriels plan. Once Shayne was out of her arms, attack the baby and the person with no way to defend themselves. As much as she knew that probably wasn't his way of doing things, it wasn't something she could discount right now.
"Sara, let's go out back with him. You can take Shayne with us or leave him with Gale."
"Shayne will stay in." Without taking her eyes from Gabriel, she moved around Matrim and handed Shayne over to Gale as Matrim suggested they move to the porch. Sara got close to Gale and whispered to her that she should take Shayne upstairs until Gabriel was gone. With a nod, she turned and left, taking Shayne to the front of the house, opposite where they were going to be.
When Sara turned around, Gabriel was already leading the way to the backyard. She came up next to Matrim, her face stern. "If he starts anything, I want him taken down before he gets anywhere near this house." Her eyes flicked up to Matrims face, anger flaring in her gaze. "I hope you know what you're doing."
Then she moved ahead and followed Gabriel out. She remained standing despite the fact that there were chairs, and she remained in front of the door, her arms across her chest. Since they were now away from Shayne, she had relaxed a great deal. She chewed the inside of her cheek nervously, still not completely understanding what Gabriel wanted.
"As I said before I have a proposition..."
Sara listened patiently, sometimes shifting from foot to foot as he spoke, her eyes flickering from Matrim to Gabriel. His way of talking was just so... He was like a lawyer or something. Everything he said seemed foreign to her, and hidden, like everything had a deeper, hidden meaning. As he finished, Sara narrowed her eyes. "So wait... You want an alliance? Did I miss something, or did you not tell us what for yet? It's what time in the morning? Dumb it down and spit it out."
Ya, she could have put that a lot more eloquently, such as 'what will this alliance entail my dear chap?' or 'please expand on your vision for this alliance', but she wasn't up for playing games. Matrim might entertain his way of doing things, but he had upset the momma bear of the house and hadn't even apologized.

"Sounds good on paper," Matrim said, agreeing with Sara, "But you've yet to really say what it is you came here for. Stop equivocating and get to the straight nitty gritty. Because an alliance as you and I know doesn't always mean a partnership. As for my acquaintances, all I'm trying to do is survive school and make sure everyone else does. So what exactly do you think you can offer me?"
Matrim turned toward Sara, he knew that she would kill Gabriel in cold blood if he made a wrong move, or at least try, in any case Matrim was more ready to go than he would appear. He knew exactly the moves he could use on Gabriel to bring him down, and more importantly he knew the moves that would allow Sara to help him do it.
He's either got something coming up or he's going nuts and has some sort of fantasy in his head where we're all in a medieval war. Because I can't make heads or tails out of the situation yet. Not to mention it doesn't seem that we have any enemies to unite against, none that I can recall. Besides, it's not like a college kid has any interest in a high school title....
"Not to mention words are cheap," Matrim said, "Supposing I do help you with whatever it is you want, how do I know you're not going to turn your back on me the second I've served any of your purposes."
Matrim knew exactly how Gabriel operated in the past, and as soon as things didn't go his way he would often cut his losses. That's how it was with Chess, that's how it had been when the situation with 42 happened. In any case he hoped it wasn't the same now. But he was still curious as to what exactly he was offering, if he felt that he could help Matrim connect with the student body than fine, but that still left what Matrim was going to do in return.

Gabriel grinned darkly his initial purpose being here had changed in just a few moments his prior plan altered from what it'd been just moments ago and something of a decisive action changed into one of simply logistics. He needed to get away from here, the intoxicating stench of competition and violence had poisoned him as of late turning him into something he wasn't to begin with, instead of helping other's causes he'd become a one tracked mind warrior bent upon destruction and leaving the rest here to collect the mess he'd made. Yes it was decided he needed a new path, something that'd send him away from here. These two could still help him in his endeavors though he didn't know to what extent, morbid enemies helping one another? It still held the same meaning a mutually beneficial purpose. probably what was their greatest pain in the ass out of the way and Gabriel leaving sounded too good.
"I need you to kill me..."
Gabriel said simply as though the words and though of life meant nothing at all. Because to him it certainly hadn't not meant a single thing until the memories came back, all those wasted whiles he could have changed things. In the moment they seemed so right but looking back he'd made more mistakes than any one man could have managed.
He nodded slowly, "Sorry to disrupt you tonight, I'll send you the details in the mail..."
Once more the ever plotting Gabriel had a plan.

"I need you to kill me..."Shock... Excitement... !... More shock... WTFBBQ!? Sara's mouth opened in surprise. Of all the things she had been expecting, that wasn't it. Honestly, she had been expecting something more along the lines of 'hand over the titles' or 'let me destroy the school', but... Kill him? Sara mind reeled, two sides of her fighting for control. It had been so long since she had been overcome like this that she had to take a step back and turn away, rubbing her temples as she tried to calm down and fight off the need to do it right here and now. Happily...Not now, not here, we follow the rules."Sorry to disrupt you tonight, I'll send you the details in the mail..."She turned back, a sick smile on her face. ! "I'll be looking forward to it... Keeping my eyes peeled, you know? Whenever you're ready... Not really any rush." She stood, swaying gently on her feet as she waited for him to leave. Once he had, the smile faded, her expression turning back to shock, and then anger. She rounded on Matrim. "What the hell were you thinking?! Since when have you EVER let anyone get away with pulling crap like that!?" She hissed the words at him, keeping her voice low so that only Matrim could hear her. She stepped up to him, her hands going to push at his chest in anger. "Gabriel!? And you didn't throw him out?!"

"I'll be looking forward to it... Keeping my eyes peeled, you know? Whenever you're ready... Not really any rush."
"Gladly." Was all Matrim's response was. In fact it was said without malice, without hatred. Just a smile on his face, as if saying he'd let him borrow a toaster or something. In any case he turned to Sara when he was gone who seemed to be upset.
"What the hell were you thinking?! Since when have you EVER let anyone get away with pulling crap like that!? Gabriel!? And you didn't throw him out?!"
"His energy feels different," Matrim said, "It felt like it was wrong to get violent. If he had made a single solitary sign of causing physical harm he would have been dead before he hit the floor," Matrim said, looking at her, "Something tells me though it wouldn't have been so easy. Me and him got heated up once, it took down an entire warehouse. I wasn't about to risk Shayne. The no fighting rule apply's in all situations. I kicked him out, but I did so politely."
He was going to get her back for that shove though...... "Oh and...." A right punch would shoot out for her face, aiming to hit her along the jaw, a devilish grin appearing across his face, "Next time, when you're with Shayne. Just turn, and run. Activate your Qi against the ground, turn, and never look back. Kay?"
He'd roll up his sleeves and walk over to her, "But if you wanna get out the aggression, then let's do this, right here and right now."

"The no fighting rule apply's in all situations. I kicked him out, but I did so politely."
Sara huffed angrily, stepping back and running a hand irritatedly through her hair. It still bothered her that he hadn't come down fists blazing to protect his family. To her, it seemed completely out of character, and inexcusable. She tried to think of something to fight his logic but couldn't. He was right, no matter how much she hated to admit it. He had done the right thing, and probably saved them a lot of trouble with how he handled it.
"Oh and...."
Her eyes snapped up to his face, only to see the fist at the last second. It slammed into her jaw and sent her reeling back. She actually left her feet and landed feet away on her side, her hand cupping her jaw as she hissed in pain, pushing herself up into a sitting position. "You asshole... That hurt..." She cursed him under her breath, both hoping he heard her and praying he didn't.
"Next time, when you're with Shayne. Just turn, and run. Activate your Qi against the ground, turn, and never look back. Kay?"
Her cheeks reddened in anger and shame. Had she put Shayne at risk? At the time, her only thought was not to turn her back on Gabriel. Had she tried to run, or go back up the stairs, she would have presented him with an opening. She thought she had done well, but if he felt that she had screwed up, then she felt terrible, disgusted with herself.
"But if you wanna get out the aggression, then let's do this, right here and right now."
She bared her teeth at him, pushing up onto the balls of her feet so she was crouched low. "I wouldn't have to run from anything if someone stepped up." She pushed off the ground, planting her left foot and slammed her right leg around in a roundhouse kick. It was harsh yes, but she was still pissed that he hadn't fought like she would have.

"I wouldn't have to run from anything if someone stepped up." She came with a roundhouse kick, he quickly caught the kick with his left hand, and then brought his right fist to the back of her knee to cause her to bend it forward, and hopefully turn away from the knee bending to expose her back. He would then slam his shoulder into the square of her back.
"YES YOU WOULD," He barked out, "Don't you EVER think I can protect you all the time. Because I can't, I can't protect everyone, I've tried. So next time, run. Especially with Shayne, don't think twice, just high tail it. Scream my name if you have to but you get out of there so fast that he thought he saw a ghost."
He would let go of her foot had the attack been successful, and he would stand over her if she had fallen, his fists clenched, "Because I can't.... I can't lose you or Shayne.... I just can't." His voice trailed over from anger into something a little quieter. He slowly turned to walk away, "I have a knack for having friends come back from the dead.... but seeing them, later... it just made the memory of their 'deaths' feel that much more real. I will NOT bury my son, and I refuse to bury you. The both of you bury me. Got it?"
A tear streamed down his face. "I'll kill him if that's what he wants. If he's going for some grand fake death, if it gets him to leave, it's good enough for me. If people think I was the one to kill him, even better. It'd get rid of him, and that's one less enemy I have to worry about."

He caught her kick with his left hand, and she let out a growl of frustration, her momentum still going in her upper body. Already off balance, the fist that slammed into the back of her knee bent it easily, collapsing her leg and bringing her back around to face him. He dropped her easily by hitting her back. She landed hard on her front, her arms coming up to stop her. She landed on her forearms, a small cry of pain coming from her as her leg twisted. Immediately, she rolled onto her back side, staring up at him in anger.
"YES YOU WOULD..."
Her mouth opened and closed in shock, her anger completely gone, replaced by surprise and guilt. He practically threw her foot away and stood over her. Her eyes flicked to his clenched fist and knew that she had taken this to far. He didn't deserve this... "I..." He cut her off, continuing. She found herself crying about what he was saying. It was rare that he told her he loved her, rare that he gave much indication to how important she was to him. And here he was, practically pouring out his true feelings. And she hated that she had done this to him.
"It'd get rid of him, and that's one less enemy I have to worry about."
She pushed herself slowly to her feet, still crying. If he hadn't moved away from her, she would take his face in her hands, pulling him down so that she could press her forehead to his. "I'm sorry Matrim... I'm so sorry... I would never let anything happen to Shayne, or me. That's why I didn't attack, I wasn't going to risk losing either of you now that I have you both." She pushed herself into his arms, cuddling herself into his chest. "I love you and I'm sorry. You did what you thought was best, and it worked. Thank you."
She pulled away from him and tugged at his hand. "Let's go in ok? Let's go play with Shayne. I'm not sleeping anymore tonight."
