Yes.
Aternity is a doctor.
But he's not a DOCTOR.
Just a doctor.
Of physics. And stuff. Not medicine.
He's good at it...but only when the condition isn't exactly chronic.
So, that said, he was made aware of the school nurse so to speak by one of his colleagues, who assured him that this was the best medical professional not only in town, but probably the regional area. Hell, add west coast if you're feeling lucky. That's right folks, the lady he was going to see was an actual doctor that poked people for a living with sharp objects to actually make them better INSTEAD of killing them. Cool huh? She may not be able to control time and space, but she could supposedly pull an epic neurosurgery better than anyone else.
And that was good enough for him.
Strolling, I mean...rolling into her office, he started his search for the lady of the room. Probably off munching down an apple or something. Furling his lip, he tipped back on the wheelie bar for his chair waiting for some kind of life appear. To be perfectly clear, he wasn't here for a checkup...but instead a consult.
You know, to see if he could get these bloody legs back and working.
Stupid neurological disorders.

Layla was more or less a particularly happy woman today. Why, one of her students had remembered her birthday. Yes, Layla Serigawa Clavering turns 30 in less than 24 hours, and that pleased her as much as the fact that Emily had baked a matcha-flavored cake for her. It wasn't a big cake, but it was something enough for a couple of people -- four at the very most. Hmm, Layla wouldn't dare eat the entire cake.
Well, she could give a piece to Zack Asiv, as the doctor had perceived that he lacked the common ability to fend for himself by matters of health. Oh well, hopefully a cake would give him a significant amount of energy. That's for later; for now, it was Layla and her cake.
She took a little piece onto her mouth, careful not to mess her white long coat. Yes, she was a consultant at the hospital's cardiothoracic surgery department now, and that alone was something she was rather proud of, considering that she was moderately young.
Even so, she set her fork down as an unfamiliar man came into the room in a wheelchair. How fascinating; is this a student? Probably not from his demeanor and his attire. Shinichi would float over to the space in front of the door as soon as it opened, saying: "What do you want, desu ka?" It flailed it's stubbed arms at the wheelchaired person, insisting that he stated his intentions.
"Let him in, Shinichi."
"Hai. Dozo." It said, floating towards it's master and landing on her short, blonde hair. Layla merely went and sipped a bit of bitter coffee, smiling.
"Would you like a cup of coffee?"

Aternity probably wasn't there for more than three minutes doing spins, wheelies and every other sort of stunt he could possibly do, at which point, only the bar saved him because of what decided to greet the boy. What in the world? Was that a plushie floating and speaking to him? And partly in Japanese? What was going on? Finally realizing he was going crazy, he opened his mouth to speak. And was promptly interrupted by an actual human.
Thank God.
This meant he could finally stop his bored antics and MAYBE get something done. Right? Right?! Okay fine, maybe it would help if he had something to drink first from the lady, after all, it was being nicely offered.
"Yes please, if only to shake the shock of seeing a floating plushie in front of my eyes..."
It was honestly difficult to think of what to say next...that he needed a consult? Who he was? Blarg, let's just say who he was.
"Since the plushie here wanted to know what I'm doing here, I'm Dr. Aternity Awren...I was hoping to get a consult actually."
Wow. That came out bluntly didn't it?

Layla nodded and leaned on her chair, crossing her legs as Shinichi would float around carrying a mug towards the coffee machine. Sincerely, Layla never exactly have seen another paraplegic teacher around here and this mildly made her somewhat relieved. It was either that or quite depressed for someone taking her place as the cripple around this parts.
She supposed though, that she was better off, all considering that despite having lost the ability to run and jump, she could still walk without limping.
Then the man decided to introduce himself, stating his purpose as well. A consult? "Ah, is that so?" She said, leaning forward with a smile on her face and her chin propped up by the back of her head. She was slightly interested as to what this consult was for. "What ails you, dear sir?"
