Matrim was in the basement of the house, where he had put up a punching bag and had some training weights around as well as a soft padded floor for wrestling on comfortably. It was his own little training area that he left open for Sara to use as well. He needed it to get his fist in working condition, being somewhat fed up with this pitiful state.
He grabbed fist wraps, wrapping them over his bandages carefully. Making sure to do it snugly but not so tight that it messed with his skin. He was tough enough to handle the pain, but it still sucked not to have pain killers available to help him with it all. His breathing was somewhat erratic as he worked through the pain.
He had a radio playing music to workout to. It was just what was always being played on the local stations, not necessarily songs he liked but they provided a beat to work out to which was very helpful. In fact, it was probably one of the most important components to working out was developing a rhythm of some sort, and the music definitely established one for him to work to.
When the wraps were complete he stood in front of the punching bag, taking in a few deep breaths in this nose, and exhaled out the mouth. He drew back his right fist and threw the punch straight into the center of the bag. He immediately took in a breath, biting down his teeth as he winced at the pain before drawing the fist back again and striking the bag. This time actually letting out a stifled scream, as he brought the fist to his chest and bent over.
"Shit...." He said, and kept going one punch at a time. Damned and determined to pretend as if it hadn't happened.

Sara was just getting back from taking Shayne for a walk in his stroller. He had been restless all morning, so she had strapped in his stroller and walked him through the park, stopping for a short time to rest him with on the grass. Shayne had a thing for grass. Not like eating it or anything, just a general fascination with anything to do with nature and she had enjoyed the fresh air. To say the morning had been rough would be an understatement.
Did she want to talk about it? No. Suffice to say she had spent the morning in the washroom. She only prayed Matrim was as oblivious to the problem as he appeared to be. She vowed she would make time to get to a doctor... If it wasn't better by next week >_>"
She unstrapped Shayne at the front door, carrying him into the house and laying him down in his crib. He was already asleep as she tucked him under the small blankets, surrounded by his favorite toys. Then she went out fold up the stroller and put it away. By this point, she was ready for a nap herself. Odd. Which led her to the next question. Where was Matrim?
o___O
She called upstairs to him and got no answer. Gale called down a moment later to say he wasn't up there. She caught the sound of quiet music and followed it to the door to the basement. When she opened it, the music got louder, but she caught the sound of grunting and hitting. The two together either meant... He was cheating on her... Or he was...
=___=" That ASSHOLE.
She practically flew down the stairs, turning quickly at the bottom to face. "What the HELL do you think you're doing!? Didn't I tell you NOT to train with your hand like that!?" She stalked forward, stepping in front of the bag. He was going slow enough that there was no chance he'd hit her if he had chosen to ignore her. "Get upstairs... NOW." The look she sent would have chilled most men to the bone. How dare he do this? She could see the pain he was in, and it killed her to know that this was her fault.

"What the HELL do you think you're doing!? Didn't I tell you NOT to train with your hand like that!? Get upstairs... NOW." She had said, stepping between him and the bag. He didn't pay any attention, instead he drew back his right fist, she could take the hit and honestly he wasn't really all that up to climbing stairs. He had already started so he was going to finish his training... even if it turned Spar. His ribs were starting to heal, a bit bruised and a bit beat up and burnt. If he used his extra arms they'd be damaged but they might be functional... at least one of them might be. His right side was nowhere near as bad as his left side.
"I'm not a child," He said and threw his right fist toward the bag, or Sara's sternum as the case may have been. A lot of the strength out of the fist but the force of the punch would still be there from his arm altogether. If she dodged he'd still follow through to hit the punching bag. But he wasn't about to just give up because she said so. If he was going to do that he probably wouldn't have started doing it to begin with.
Sure he was a stubborn ass, but he was going to do this...
"I need to do this, and if you don't let me I'll just have to make you let me," He would say after throwing the punch.
Just try and stop me...

At the sign of movement, her eyes dropped to his fist. Oh he wasn't going to actually hit her... He should know he had no chance injured. If he was healed she would never dream of stepping in front of him (not that there would be a reason to), but injured? No way. She would kill him. And she was--... No. Don't go there. She wasn't.
"I'm not a child."
She didn't bother standing her ground as he threw the first at her. At the last second, she sidestepped to her left, her right hand grabbing at him as she moved. She tried to grab his right wrist with her right hand as stepped to the side and at the same time, she planted her left foot hard on the mat and threw her right knee up into his stomach, trying to throw him off and make him double over.
If it worked, and she had his wrist, she would bring her leg back down and quickly step around him, twisting his right arm behind his back. "I never said you were a child. I don't care how much you think you need to do this, you can't honestly be thinking of fighting me right now, and in the house of all places. You're hurt, and for my own peace of mind I asked you not to train!"
Had it all gone to plan, she would roughly push at his back, pushing him away from the punching bag and towards the stairs. "Now I said get upstairs. NOW."

You're hurt, and for my own peace of mind I asked you not to train!" She said. His arm was hurting from her twisting the burnt wrist behind his back, which made him wonder if she really was worried about him training with it or if she was more or less mad since it was in the house.
"Now I said get upstairs. NOW." She said and he looked up the stairs and to her and then back up the stairs and to her.
I could beat her to the front door... I just have to skip steps on my way up, shut the door behind me, make a break for it, and shut that door behind me. Now if I can get to the van before her... I'm clear to go to the gym in the city.....
...
Hehehehe....
Matrim stuck his tongue out at Sara and then took a big leap up the stairs to get as far as he could, making it to the door on his second step already he shut the door behind him, grabbing the keys off of the table near the exit he opened the front door and shut it behind him.
Make it to the van.... make it to the van... make it to the van....
He headed toward the Van, and when he did he dropped the keys.
SHHIEET!
He struggled to get the keys and fumble them around to get to the van keys.
Come on, come on, come on!

Her jaw dropped, her eyes narrowing in anger as she watched him glance between the steps and her. Almost like he was actually considering disobeying her. Sara clenched her fists at her sides, shaking her head slowly, the same chant echoing through her mind over and over. Don't you dare... Don't even think about it... Don't you DARE!He stuck his tongue out at her. ... O____O Oh he DARED?! Her shock and anger held her in place for a moment. Long enough for him to get his head start up the stairs. Her mind suddenly cleared and she took off after him, throwing herself up the stairs and running into the closed door. She fumbled with the handle, as you always seem to do when you're in a rush, and then nearly fell through the doorway when it opened. She would have been cursing and swearing, but Shayne was still asleep in his pen. She turned towards the front door just as it closed and took off towards it. She had no idea what he was planning, but there was no way in HELL, he was leaving this house after that. He was GROUNDED. She didn't give to shits if he thought she had that ability or not. If she had to tie him to the bed, she would do it. Reaching the front door, the threw it open and stepped out onto the front steps, letting close quietly behind her. She gave him only a single moment to fumble with the keys some more before... "I said NO!" She flicked her hand, activating her qi and directing it at his back, hoping he would be hit with the burst and plastered against the car as she took a step down onto the path after him.

"I said NO!"
"Ahh shi-" *thud* Matrim had been bursted into the car itself, his forehead smacking hard against it as he took a step back. He had been caught and it wasn't pleasant. In those few short moments of disorientation he decided a counter offer was his best option. That's right, counter offer. Because he had been hit in the head so hard he couldn't properly remember the phrase counter attack.
His head would fly back toward her nose, aiming to hit it with the a thicker part of the skull which was near the back by the lambda. He would stumble as a result and fall back all of his weight pressing against her. So she could either catch him, dodge, or whatever she wanted but if she didn't catch him he'd probably fall and get a good look at the sky.
"Whoa... who turned on the lights..." He'd say. That's right, being hit on the head like that? It definitely was fun. The plus side was it released some natural body pain killers. Endorphins and such. A smile would come to his face, though he wasn't sure how long it'd be there had he done anything major to Sara's nose.
The sky's really pretty here.... not like Alaska... but Alaska at night was prettier...

Sara had taken a few steps off the porch, coming up behind Matrim as he slammed face first into the side of the van. She flinched, able to see from her position that it had been a nice smack directly with his forehead. At least now he was down for the count right? And things could quiet down in the house and she could relax, watch some tv...
Matrim started to fall back, his head coming right for her. His head slammed right into her face. The area just above her nose took the worst of it, but she felt the small pop and then the warm gush of blood that started to flow from her nose. She still managed to catch him and at least drop him onto the ground easier then he would have landed before she stepped back, her hands going to her nose.
Her eyes teared up, both from the hit and from something else. She just felt... So worthless. So useless. She had tried, and it didn't help. She had tried to help him, but he didn't want it. Why the hell did she bother with any of it!? She took care of his kid all morning and now he was going to start this crap!? Was he so much of an asshole that he honestly didn't realize she was sick and just wanted to rest?! "Whatever Matrim... Do whatever you want." The words were a little garbled and slurred from the hit to the face and the nose injury, but the meaning was clear.
She turned away from him and walked into the house, closing the door behind her and stalking up the stairs to their room where she slammed the door and locked it before moving into the washroom. She swore and cursed and grumbled as she leaned over the sink and started trying to stop the blood and clean herself up.

"Whatever Matrim... Do whatever you want." She had said and then just went inside. She had caught him which was a good thing though, letting him down easier than what would have happened. So that was always good. But the bad part was that she simply got pissed and left which was not like her at all. What she normally did was beat the snot out of him, so why was it that she all of a sudden walked off like that.
Even if she was tired or exhausted she would always find the energy to kick his ass just to prove a point. Not to mention he wasn't exactly making this out to be as serious as she was. The fact was he needed to train, and he wasn't going to deglove from his injuries, he would be good to punch a punching bag. After all, he had to start somewhere.
He got up and headed into the house, making his way slowly upstairs till he got to the room. He tried to open the door only to find it locked. Considering breaking through it he paused for a second and thought about how much Gale would kill him if he did that. She would go off on one of those 'this is why we can't have nice things' rant. So instead he knocked and called out.
"Hey Sara, open up, I want to talk." He said. He was really curious as to what was up with her.

Sara started by washing her face. The blood from her nose had already started to dry and cake on her upper lip and chin, even while new blood continued to flow from her nose. It hurt to touch it and she started to cry harder. She was scared and angry and GOD he could be such an idiot sometimes!
She finally got fed up and grabbed a small wash towel, dropping to sit on the toilet with her head resting back as she held the towel to her face. The flow of blood started to ebb, but it still hurt like a bitch and she was still angry. Outside in the room came the sound of the knob turning and her eyes closed and she took a deep breath.
"Hey Sara, open up, I want to talk."
"GO AWAY!" Childish, but she really didn't want to deal with him right now. He needed to back off and let her work through her anger on her own or it would be a lot worse for both of them. With a sigh though, she pushed off the toilet and moved into the main room, her head still dropped back with the towel to her face. She leaned against the wall next to the door and spoke to him through the piece of wood. "What do you want to talk about?"

"GO AWAY!"
"..." He was tempted to yell 'no!' but decided he would wait at the door. After all, if he waited long enough she'd have to come out eventually. There wasn't food in there and if she broke that window again Gale would kill her. So he sat down next to the door leaning against the hallway. And then she poke through the door.
"What do you want to talk about?" She said, and he decided to speak up.
"You're upset about something, and it's not that I was training. So spill it," He said, "What is it? Seeing me hurt? Guilt that I'm hurt? What is it that you're upset with me about because it's clearly not training. I know deep down if it were you, you'd be doing the exact same thing. In fact if I was just lying in bed until I was better you'd probably call me lazy...."
So what's on your mind....
"So spill." He said, stretching out a leg as he rested his head back against the wall. It was throbbing in pain, he'd need to get advil or aspirin or something for the headache. He would have to go easy on it though, probably just one capsule.

"So spill."
Her heart was beating out of her chest. She thought she had been hiding it pretty well, but maybe she had been sort of smothering him in her attempt to pretend that things were normal. But what was she supposed to say? For some reason, the idea of telling him that she was scared that... She couldn't do it. She couldn't imagine telling him that and didn't want to imagine what his reaction might be.
So now she was left with what to tell him in the truths place. "Guilt..." Well that was true all around. "I feel guilty that I hurt you, and I feel guilty that I know you want to be training and everything..." She started to cry, but it was pretty easy to hide under the way she was talking already because of her nose. She wanted to tell him she felt guilty for considering some of the things she was considering.
"I just... Feel... a lot of things that I can't explain right now. Just... I need some space to calm down. I'll be fine, I promise. I just haven't been feeling the greatest the past few days and then with stress..." She hung her head sadly, feeling the flow of blood start again and her nose spasmed with pain. "Do what you need to do. If you need to train, do it. Because you're right. I'd do it to. I'd go insane if I didn't. I'll be fine in a little bit..."

"Guilt... I feel guilty that I hurt you, and I feel guilty that I know you want to be training and everything..." She said, and he was going to reply, but it seemed she wasn't done yet, "I just... Feel... a lot of things that I can't explain right now. Just... I need some space to calm down. I'll be fine, I promise. I just haven't been feeling the greatest the past few days and then with stress... Do what you need to do. If you need to train, do it. Because you're right. I'd do it to. I'd go insane if I didn't. I'll be fine in a little bit..."
"Okay, but you have to come out of this room if only to put ice on your nose, I'll be downstairs... I won't be down too long okay? Just another five or so minutes max... But just so you know, you don't have to feel guilty. Every time you do just take a good look at one of your scars. Besides, you didn't do this to me, I did this to me. It was my Qi that scorched my hand, and my strength that brought down the building," He said getting up, "I love you, Sara." He would wait for her to say it back before heading downstairs to the basement.
How much you want to bet she thought I was insulting her with that whole my qi and my strength thing.....
He called up, "You kicked my ass fair and square honey! Just trying to make you feel better about what you did to me!" There that should keep her from thinking that insanity. Matrim then would finish heading down into the basement. Once down there he'd see Gale.
"No."
"But Sara said I co-"
"No."
"I was just going to for five min-"
"No."
"UGHHHH.... fine!" He said and walked back upstairs, "Didn't want to train anyway... I'm going to go play some left for dead...."
Matrim wasn't much into video games, in fact he never really got around to playing them until california. But he found they were fun, and they were a good way to train his hand. It was quick rapid movements, helped him practice finger dexterity, and it was a good way to see if he had healed up enough. A lot safer than punching a punching bag.

"It was my Qi that scorched my hand, and my strength that brought down the building."
That asshole... her eyes narrowed as she considered going out there and showing him whose strength could take down a building. Then she'd realize she would get blood on the carpet and Gale would show both of them that she had more strength then either. She rubbed a hand over her forehead and took a deep breath trying to calm down. The worst part was that she knew he wasn't trying to offend her.
"I love you, Sara."
"*mumbleIgrumblelovemumbleyoumumblebut only a little* NOW GO AWAY!" She pushed roughly off the wall she had been leaning against with annoyance and headed back to the washroom. Thankfully, the blood seemed to have slowed enough that after she washed her face she was able to get away with just shoving balls of toilet paper up her nose worked wonders.
"You kicked my ass fair and square honey! Just trying to make you feel better about what you did to me!"
A vein throbbed in her forehead with annoyance as she glared into the mirror in front of her. That asshole... If there was one thing she wanted to do, it was bring another building down on his head and then leave him there this time. She hiccuped from crying so hard and her stomach churned. Not now... She leaned over the toilet...
Five minutes later, after another couple deep breaths and changing the toilet paper she had stuffed up her nose she moved back into the room and changed her shirt, pulling on one of her huge t-shirts and then pulled on pajama pants then moved downstairs, pale and shaking. At the bottom she noticed Matrim on the couch starting up a game. Slowly, she moved over to the couch and sat down next to him just as Gale came up the stairs. She took one look at Sara and shuffled towards the kitchen. "I'll make you something to eat Sara." Before she could protest, "It's no trouble." Sara had the sneaking suspicion that Gale knew what was up, but she preferred to pretended there was nothing wrong. She turned to Matrim. "Let me play to."

"I'll make you something to eat Sara. It's no trouble."
"Make me something too!" Matrim called back.
"Make it yourself!"
"I have a burnt up hand!"
"If you can punch a bag you can make a sandwich!"
Fucking Gale....
"I heard that."
O_______O
....
...
..
.
"Let me play to." Sara said and Matrim let out a 'Huh?' as he turned toward her and then looked up at the television.
"Oh yeah," He said, "Sure, but I get to be coach," Matrim said as he started up the game, loading his profile and such as he waited for Sara to join in with the second control. Once she had done that he would start playing, setting it to the level with the clowns and the rock and roll concert. He liked that one, "I want to save the gnome, I need that achievement..."
Oh yeah, he was an achievement whore....
And then he would start the game, "And a here we go!"
"Ammo here."
"Health packs here."
Matrim got the shotgun and a health pack, waiting for Sara to be ready and lead the way. Since she was probably going to... until something scary was about to happen anyway....
"Ready when you are, babe."
