Once he was out of earshot, Matrim would go toward his van, unlocking the doors as he approached it. Those new buttons on keys were awesome, "Get in." He would say in an almost cold fashion, not even caring whether or not she listened. Once he opened the door he would get in and wait for her, once she was in he'd say, "Shut the door."

Doors locked. He'd turn to her, "As of this moment you are School Captain. The reason for this is very simple. I don't know if I can beat him tomorrow, and I'd rather not lose the title to the devil that I don't know. This way, I can test his strength. In that time you won't be able to lose your title, the moment you can I'll beat you up for it if I feel that's necessary, otherwise the title is yours to keep."
He thought about it. It was nothing personal against her, it just would look bad if she gave it back, so it was best she kept it unless they really needed to protect it, "Besides, I was thinking of getting out of this gig anyway. Spend more time with Shayne, focus on grades to graduate on time, and spend some more time with my wife without constantly doing stuff for the School. I'll still be around to help when I'm needed of course..."
He thought about it some more, "And if things get too bad I may just have to resume where I left off. But the fact is simple. I don't want someone I don't know anything about having complete control over everything."
