But although she may be open when it comes to her thoughts, she will keep her private problems exactly that: Private. She does not like to trouble others with her own problems only because she figures that she can deal with them herself. It's not like she finds others confiding in her to be troublesome - no, it's nothing like that - but she's a stubborn girl who won't talk and just keep on smiling. Of course, this doesn't mean that she never complains. She complains all the time (not all the time), but it's usually about things that most people would complain about. Sure, there are times when Aurin things that she shouldn't be complaining and will stop, because a complaining heart isn't an appreciative one.
Thing about Aurin is that she likes to pick playful fights with her friends. Playful, as in insults that they know are jokes. 'Your face' or 'your mom' jokes are often the kinds of jokes Aurin says the most, especially with her guy friends. But of course, she's careful so that she doesn't actually end up insulting said person. And it's not like she doesn't pick actual fights either. She knows how to hold her own ground and, if she's bored enough, she'll get into a playful scuffle with someone she knows. She doesn't fight just because she wants to win - she fights because of the excitement![/ul]

History[/u]
They spent ten years saving money to get a big house with nice furniture. They ended up renting rather than actually buying, because then they wouldn't have to sell the house if they wanted to move. They lived in the house for two years before they found a location where they could build their own house. Her father, being an architect, designed the house for the family. Although it was a long process, it turned out to be very successful in the end. They were building a new neighborhood up in Oceanside Heights and gave her father the permission to design the house because he bought the property. After six months of building and furnishing, the family finally moved in and settled down. Her father's main occupation was being a chiropractor, while her mother worked as a nail technician.
Her older brother was into martial arts at the time, and Aurin, just having turned four, wanted to follow right into her big brother's footsteps! First came Sin Moo Hapkido, which she studied with her brother for 11 years; she started attending lessons since she was four. When she turned six, she started learning the piano, and when she turned seven, enrolled into a ballet class. Gradually, her passion for ballet started to disappear, and her passion for hip hop soon took over. But without ballet, Aurin would not have the flexibility she has now. She started getting into hip hop when she was around thirteen years old, and quit ballet around that time. Aurin still continued playing the piano, and when she was in the fifth grade - which is when band and orchestra start - she got into playing the percussion instruments and the cello.
However, she was told that she could not do both band and orchestra, and so she chose to stick with band by playing the snare drums and xylophones. The cello, however, she learned outside of school after much begging to her parents. When she turned fifteen, she quit Sin Moo Hapkido (actually, she only goes on sparring days), and started attending Ketsugo Jujutsu because of her brother. Now, her brother, being eight years older than her, was a teacher's assistant at the dojo, but only during the summer because of the university he goes to: John Hopkins. Kind of far, so...yeah. But the reason she so wanted to be in martial arts was to make her father proud. He had so much pride in his first son and so he had high expectations for his daughter. Much to her disappointed, whatever she achieved, it was always second best. Her brother was always first.
With such high standards in the academic area and in martial arts, Aurin works hard to make her father proud. Although her mother thinks Aurin should be more feminine-like, her father shrugs her off with little to no interest, to the point where if Aurin did not see her birth certificate, she would think that the two were not blood related at all. Her older brother, Aesir (but everyone calls him Eric), noticed this and gives constant words of encouragement, usually telling Aurin to follow what she wants rather than going with what she thinks their dad wants. But Aurin thinks otherwise.
Also, Aurin's real name is Valkyrie, chosen by her father, and her Korean name, MiRae, by her mother. Her father had been into mythology ever since he was a child, and so named her and her brother after Norse gods and goddesses. Aurin, not exactly liking her name, started introducing herself as Aurin to others, but at home, she is called 'Valkyrie' or 'Val'/'Kyrie' for short. But no one goes over to her house anyway, so...it's all good. Anyway, she attended Ryker High, and has been attending the school ever since she was a freshman. She was a fighter because it was necessary due to her violent school, but she is now something almost like a pacifist, avoiding fights and focusing on her studies now that she is a college freshman in the bio-medical engineering program.[/ul]

- Her family may appear to be wealthy, but is actually just a little above average when it comes to income.
- She does not like people coming over to her house because she does not want them thinking that she is showing off.
- She is closer to her grandparents than she is with her actual parents.
- Her brother is her best friend forever. If he were a girl, she'd ask him to be her Maid Of Honor when and if she gets married.
- Her parents - father, specifically - are strangely strict, even though they are rarely ever home.
- Aurin has a habit of lying to her parents about the smallest of things. White lies, but still lies none the less.
