Description: Savate uses both the hands and feet as weapons and combines elements of western boxing with graceful kicking techniques. Only foot kicks are allowed. Savate is perhaps the only style of kick boxing in which the fighters habitually wear shoes. At some point la canne and le baton stick fighting were added, and some form of stick-fencing, such as la canne, is commonly part of savate training. The more famous and popular weapon incorporated by Savate is the La Canne. A 1/2 inch diameter flexible stick approximately 36 inches in length.
Savate combines traditional fencing motions along with kicking techniques when wielding this dowel shape stick at the opponent. This weapon is fast and flexible making it a fierce companion. In competitive savate, there are four allowed kinds of kicks, and five kinds of punches.[/ul]
History
His world however, would be turned upside down when Riley was young. When Riley was 13, his father picked him up from basketball practice one evening, which surprised him, because normally, his mother was the one that picked him up. When Riley asked him why, all his father said was his mother called him in the morning, and told him to pick Riley up, since she was busy. As they pulled up into the driveway, all the lights are off in the house. His father just shrugged it off when Riley asked him, but Riley had a feeling something was up. The two of them headed into the house, Riley behind, since he was carrying his shoulder bag and duffel bag with his basketball gear inside. After going into the kitchen, his father walked back out, and searched every room on the ground floor, while Riley was upstairs, putting his stuff away, only to find a note on his desk. It was from his mother, and the only thing she wrote was "I'm sorry RJ, I'm so sorry." As Riley stood there, confused, his father came rushing in, as Riley quickly stuffed the note inside his pocket. Riley could tell right away from the look on his father's face, that he was in a panic, his mother was nowhere to be found.
His father rushed back downstairs and started calling their friends, family everybody, and they all said the same thing, "No, she's not here." Now in a real panic, his father called the police, and moments later, sirens could be heard blaring, and police swarmed their house. Information was given, and all the police can do is file a missing person's report. After the police left, his father decided, over a few weeks, he didn't want to stay in the United States anymore, so they packed up everything and moved to France, and took over his father's company and buying a one level house. Riley was sent to high school, language not being a problem, since Riley knew how to speak French, having been taught it by his father and mother. But it seemed that fate had another twist in store for Riley. When he was 15, he was walking home from school, his headphones on, listening to his music, when suddenly, his entire world went black. Hours later, Riley woke up, and saw it was morning. It seemed normal, despite having blacked out for hours, until he saw he could see through his hand.
He then realized the truth. He was a ghost. No one could see or hear him, as he walked down the sidewalk, only to stop in front of a news stand, as he literally went cold, even though he was a ghost. On the front page of the newspaper, the headline said that his father, Jonathan Davis, was murdered in his office, and he, Riley, had gone missing. Not knowing how he died, or who killed his father, Riley made it his goal to find out what happened, and where his mother went, which led him to St. Paragon's Secondary, a prison school. He had heard some of his father's old friends had sent their kids there, so he decided it was a good a place as any to start.
Public High School #650
Going to St. Paragon's was actually a good thing for Riley. He met people here that he became friends with, (Sephora, Addie), and despite being a ghost, he met the one girl whom he cared deeply about and will protect forever (Reira). Everything was great, that is, until The Paladins, a group that hated those who have Qi abilities, arrived. They destroyed the entire school and left it in ruins. It was because of them he met the crimson spirit that tormented and possessed Reira. Because of The Paladin's, Reira ended up injured, and he couldn't do anything to help... Almost anything. After Reira was taken away to safety, him by her side, he decided it was time to end this conflict. The Paladins may be powerful, but they didn't have the powers to see ghosts, which was Riley's advantage. He walked out of the AI Core building, and headed towards the source of this battle, the Paladin's leader.
What he found was not what he expected. The leader of Paladin's, had his very own Qi, the power to control people's minds. The soldiers he commanded dispersed to kill everyone, and he was left alone. Riley ran full speed at the leader, and dove into his body, to take control of his body. The leader fought against Riley's control, but Riley held on long enough to bring his gun up to his head, and shoot himself. The gun shot rang through the forest, and Riley could feel the leader's resistance fading. He controlled him long enough to put his gun away, and make it look like a sniper had killed him. With no one controlling them anymore, many soldiers didn't know what to do. Many bailed, but not before the government arrived, and captured some of The Paladins. The battle was finally over, even though The Paladin's did win, since they killed off some who had Qi, but Riley was relieved, because Reira was alright.
A couple days before the government arrived, Riley was sitting beside Reira, who was asleep in her bed, when The Doctor came in, and motioned to him to follow him. Confused at how he was able to see him, Riley followed nonetheless. He brought him to a room he hadn't been to before, that housed a weird looking machine. He told him with the help of this machine, the TARDIS he called it, he could become a real teenager, but still have his ghost powers. Riley at first, couldn't speak for a few minutes, but he did manage to ask him why. He replied, because he had ended this conflict with The Paladins by killing their leader, and without them, the soldiers were lost, and unwilling to fight. His question answered, he thought about it for a while, and then decided. He would do it. The Doctor activated the TARDIS, and Riley was engulfed by a white light. That was all he remembered. When he woke up, he was in a plane headed for Alaska, as the girl sitting beside him on the plane told him. Riley was seperated from everyone, including Reira. He was worried if she was alright, if she was on one of the planes going to the school.
This school, is a new start for him, the boy, who was once a ghost...
Point Hope High
Arriving at Point Hope, Riley was reunited with Reira, reaffirming the promise he made to her back at St. Paragon's, that he would protect her forever. Riley was reunited with the friends he made back in St. Paragon's, since they now could see what he looked like. He and Reira even got together at one point, since Matrim had broken up with her, and died a second time, but came back through the power of his guardian angel, Van, who turned out to be his father, who merged with Riley, but their relationship didn't last very long. After that, Riley became part of a gang called Visions, comprised of Matrim Gallagher, and Aternity Awren, Riley's old roommate from back in St. Paragon's. During that time, he met Lina Sabir, the girl that Matrim had saved back at St. Paragon's while Riley had been trying to save Reira.
The two of them got together, though it was kept a secret, since Lina had obtained the School Captain title from Matrim, and made Riley a Pillar. But because Lina was now the School Captain, that made her the number one target of Visions. To make sure that Visions would never be found out, Riley had his memories of his time in Visions erased. After this, Lina disappeared, and Reira claimed the School Captain title for herself. No longer a Pillar, Riley for the most part, stayed under the radar, until he heard a rumor. His mother, Mila Dalton, had been seen in Long Beach. With nothing else to go on, Riley left Point Hope and traveled to Long Beach, to see if the rumors were true...
Public High School #259
Arriving in Long Beach, what he found was not what he expected. He found both Matrim and Reira in Long Beach, which surprised him. Matrim punched Riley on the head upon seeing him, since Riley had lost his powers as a ghost, since Van had left mysteriously, as Riley left right away. Reira then found him a couple days after, and the two of them managed to talk. But Riley never got a chance to find his mother, as an earthquake struck Long Beach. The damage severe, Riley headed to San Francisco after hearing his mother had been seen there...
Public High School #42
It seemed no matter where Riley went, he always saw the last person he wanted to see. Matrim was there once again, and Riley actually fought against him after Matrim had become the Varsity Captain of Public High School #42. During his brief stay in the school, he met Emily Delos Santos, whom, for reasons unknown, Riley became protective of. But his stay at 42 did not last long, as he departed from San Francisco, to search for his mother, but not before making Ryuu Hikari, in actuality, "Alexander" Kazuya Hikari, promise to watch over Emily for him. Riley then left and disappeared...
Inter-Years
Riley traveled around various cities in the United States, but still retained his personality even after all the fights he went through during his travels. During that time, he contacted his grandfather, his mother's father, whom he learned was still alive after all those years. Overwhelmed from learning his grandson was still alive, he promised his grandson he would help to find his daughter, Riley's mother. His searching led him back to Long Beach, the first place he heard the rumor from. This time, he hoped this would be his last stop...
Public High School #259
Returning to Public High School #259, Riley was reunited with a few of the friends he made at Point Hope High. After catching up, he enrolled into the high school, but just after the second school semester of his final year in high school started, his grandfather heard that his daughter had been spotted in the San Diego. Without a moment's hesitation, Riley left for San Diego to search for her, transferring into the high school while he was here.
Public High School #774
Arriving at Public High School #774, Riley was instantly greeted with the news that one of his close friends, Mischa, had been involved in a massacre that took place... and that she had been the instigator. Learning that she was currently in the hospital in a coma, he continually visited her everyday without fail, until the day she woke up. After helping her escape from the hospital undetected, he offered letting her stay with him until she was back on her feet. A few days later, Riley was reunited with Addie once more, and spent some time hanging out with her. However, his grandfather called him, having learned that his daughter had been spotted in where else, but Long Beach. Without a moment's hesitation, Riley left for Long Beach once more, to search for her.[/ul]
