It was killing her inside to see him like this. She hadn't wanted any of this to happen, but she had sealed her own fate the moment she had consented to Karel's monstrous manipulation. It was her fault, end of story. And now she would have to deal with it. His arms had barely begun to wrap themselves around her when Chi pushed away frantically, her sketchbook now forgotten in the grass as well.
"Stop it! Just...stop it!" Tears were in her eyes now, a solitary line of wetness making its way down her cheek. As much as she wanted to make him happy by letting him be with her this once, she would simply be letting him down again once they took their separate ways. "Find someone better. Let her make you happy, and not betray you like I did." She turned away, disappearing into the crowd again as the fight across the way was finally broken up...they would soon be returning to the building.

Things could never be easy could they? No, they always had to be complicated and a pain in the ass. Already one thing was clear to Aureus: He would never be happy again until everything was dealt with. It was horrible thinking about it like that, but it was the truth. He would just have to endure it all the best he could without an escape. However, for that to even work he had to know one thing, and so he chased after her.
"Tell me one thing!" He yelled, pushing past people. "When this is all over, will you let yourself love me then?" He asked, desperate for the answer. There was a possibility that she would lie to him, just to make him forget about her, but if she really meant it...well he would kill Karel anyway for destroying the one love he had ever had. Things weren't looking good for the Pillar. Who knew if he could hold on to see it through.

Chi hesitated, turning her head slightly to the right as she caught his voice above the other noise of the crowd. "I..don't know." She replied, unsure, not raising her voice above the cacaphony of the crowd around them. She wasn't sure if he was able to hear her response, but she wasn't about to turn around again...for fear of falling into his arms again.
Without another word, she was gone. The sound of feedback from a megaphone echoed across the crowd, a metally sounding teachers voice ordering the student population to file calmly back into the building and thank you for your cooperation, that is all.

Straining his hearing Aureus was barely able to catch her answer. If only she had said yes. Maybe then he would have the strength to keep going no matter what the cost. But it was understandable, there really wasn't any way for her to know. He just wanted that added reassurance. Wishful thinking was a killer.
The crowd of students was just too thick and before he knew it Chi was gone. Stopping with a sigh, he was pushed back by a few Juniors. Being as frustrated as he was, the Pillar pushed back with fire. Walking off and away from everyone else, Aureus pulled back and launched his fist through the brick wall. Almost a second later, one of the teachers from before was grappling him.
"Not a very good example for the other students, eh Aureus?" The man asked in a taunting tone. "Get the fuck off me!" The boy yelled, twisting the faculty member's arms. He didn't get far before someone else sent a punch into his gut. The air shot from his lungs and consciousness became a fleeting concept. It was then that he remembered his guitar, books, and Chi's sketchbook were still laying on the grass. He'd have to go back for them later...
