The large man was currently wandering about the city, that suit of his covering up his body from prying eyes, and how they were prying. The stares he got on a daily basis were a common thing, and he was used to it.. unfortunately, a city that had several people like him at one time or another still was not used to seeing the behemoth walking about as if his existence should have been expected by everyone that ever existed, and yet, it did none the less.
a lick of his lips, would have had that wettened flesh locking about the filter of a cigarette, the rest of it looking surprisingly like a hand rolled piece of paper.. he bought filters, and made his own. Not like he had a choice, given that a drag from him was like five or six from a normal person. A long draw of breath had him quickly exhaling that smoke back into the quickly approaching evening air. Dusk was such a beautiful time.. as there was still enough light that the street lamps did not kick on, but the sun had gone down enough that world was no longer a bright cheery ball of people that annoyed the living fuck out of the giant.
He stopped off to lean against a building, staring right at a street vendor, whom was given a few bucks in order to give him what looked to be some kind of wrapped up piece of mexican delight, chicken, peppers, spices, and some manner of red goop that would surely burn the roof of his mouth and his throat on the way down. "Mm." Cigarette killed he would have flicked it off, the cherry snuffing itself against the filter as it rolled away and he took a bite of that hot hot goodness.

With the dying light of dusk came the long shadows.
The silhouettes of dormant street lamps stretched across the intersection, looming over the cars that glinted faintly with the amber light of sunset. Everything was cut in sharp contrast; things touched by rosy light set apart from those bathed in black shadow. The bustling movements of passersby detached from their static environment. The motionless, crumpled form of a body, half-exposed to the light, half hidden in the shadow that seemed to seep from an alleyway. A dark crimson trickle stood in stark contrast to the pale flesh between the eyes. The eyes were open, but emotionless; dead. Above them, the source of the leakage; a small, bloodstained stone embedded within the folds of the brow.
At least three people had passed, wordless, without so much as a glance at the body that slumped unobtrusively at the entrance of the alleyway. To the passersby, he appeared to be nothing more than the average homeless man. The homeless were dead to begin with, in their minds. Without hope, without future, without life; dead.
A rather tall man was approaching down the sidewalk. His shadow came before him, long before him. He ordered something from a street vendor and then rested against the side of a brick building. Moments later, the airy sound of a small projectile could be heard. Briefly. The street vendor slumped over at his stand, almost gracefully, in silence. Blood pooled slowly and inconspicuously around his head. The soft sound of sticky liquid dripping onto the pavement could be detected.
High above and unseen on the roof of the brick building, Vespyr was perched comfortably on the balls of her feet, her bare toes clutching the edge of the rooftop with adroit balance. Her arms were outstretched below her chest. In her left hand was a slingshot. Her right hand was poised, fingers curled delicately around the pouch, arm cocked, ready to fire. Her eye was closed, its violet twin squinting, glinting, taking aim at the man directly below her. Her arms did not do as much as waver under the deadly tension of the sling.
…Four, three, two…
Wait.
Both eyes opened, still fixed on the man who was leaning against the wall below her. She shifted ever-so-slightly to the left and let the pouch slip away from her curled fingers. Down below and directly beside the tall man, a small pebble shattered. Mechanically, Vespyr released the tension in her muscles, letting her arms go limp, the slingshot dangling uselessly from her hand.
She recognized him...

He did not seem to notice the disappearance of the street vendor, what with the fact he was currently wrapped up in the rather greasy treat in his mitts. Those teeth gnawing and gnashing at chicken and tortilla. Om nom nom. Of course, the pebble did get a glance to the side before he looked up towards the roof of the building above him. "Eh?" You generally did not pick fights with an eight foot demon. He stared at her.. for what seemed to be two or three minutes before he smiled up at her.. he knew who she was now.
He stepped away from the building, as if he were getting ready to walk away, and promptly turned on a heel facing back towards it. The demon looked up, winked at her and then took off as full speed towards the building like he was about to kool-aid man up the place.. and yet, as he reached it, those custom fit Kenneth-Coles met the concrete, embedded just a bit and propelled him upwards, the second bringing him to what was essentially a blur, with his body low and towards the wall.
It would have seemed like a mere split-second before he was launched up over the edge and standing there against the thick concrete railing on the side of the building to keep people on the 'right' side of things. "Oi. Watch where you're aimin' that thing eh Vespyr."

Eyes of violet were fixed on the figure below, glinting like glass. As Katsuri stepped away from the wall, another pebble appeared between Vespyr’s fingers and found itself nestled in the sling’s leather pouch. Not until the beast whirled and sprinted toward the building did her arms stance themselves, fingers curled stiff around the pouch, elbow cocked far behind her head, the hand in control warm with her breath as it was poised against her cheek, unwavering. One eye closed, taking aim at the narrow space between the demon’s eyes as he hurtled toward her.
A simple release of pressure in the fingers of her right hand, and he would drop to the ground like a swatted fly. One moment of searing pressure between his eyes and then nothingness. The ground would tremor slightly as he collided with it, slain. Katsuri the giant would be no more. Katsuri, neither friend nor foe in the eyes of the girl wielding the weapon. Katsuri, who was still alive because of that fact, and was, at the moment, staring past the dangerously poised slingshot and into the cold eyes of Vespyr.
Yes; she had hesitated. He had entered her killing grounds but he was not an enemy. She had no reason to kill him, but neither did she have any reason to release the tension in her arms, ready to strike like a cobra should he give her reason to. Her upper body was swiveled to face him, her toes still clinging to the edge of the rooftop. She rose to her feet swiftly, keeping the giant’s forehead within her aim. She made no further movements for several long moments. The coldness in her eyes was unfathomable.
Finally, she let her right arm relax and move away from her face, though there was a definite hesitation in the action. Disarmed, Vespyr tilted her head and regarded the man with indifference. Her eyes were no longer barren and cold, but neutral, holding no hostility but lacking anything better than it. She crossed her arms.
“Long time, no see.”

The large man stooped down, those knees coming into a nice bend as he crouched in front of her on that railing, looking her in the face rather then down on her. She was poised, ready to shoot him, he did wonder though, rather it could penetrate, what, with the fact that he literally was a walking talking tank.. that and he used his skull as a battering ram quite often.
When he arm fell, albeit with hesitation he just winked at her again and smiled. "Mm. You could say that, but I honestly wouldn't know the difference.. out cold most of that time." A shrug of his shoulders. "What of you? Still not attending 259?" Last he remembered, the girl essentially did what she pleased, which was part of the reason he had been interested in her. The other being.. she... was not nicey nice. If you knew what that meant.
Also, no question of what she was doing up here taking pot-shots at people? The bodies below? Of course not. The big man was no stranger to danger.. or for that matter dead people, and with what he had gathered from her in all the meetings they had in the past she was not the type to care either.

Vespyr tilted her head in the other direction as he spoke, fine strands of fuchsia unveiling her eyes more clearly. Now that she faced westward, the cold violets were now saturated with the sunset’s sanguine hues and glinted with the colour of murder. Unreadable for the most part, but understanding; though her prevailing attitude was rather apathetic, she wasn’t completely unresponsive and through her focused gaze she conveyed to the tall man that she was listening to him. She even found herself nodding slightly. Her eyelids slipped closed for a moment, and she seemed to sigh inwardly.
“I know the feeling.”
Her eyes opened, glancing down at the empty street below for a moment, then back to Katsuri.
“And no, actually; I find myself… operating under different circumstances nowadays. I attend from time to time, but for purely non-academic reasons.”
The corners of her black cherry lips lifted slightly and parted, and while her teeth were sharp and white as pearls, there was something about the grin that was conspicuously putrid. Outright fiendish. Her gaze slid to her right, to the horizon, where the distant cityscapes seemed to be engulfed by a choked blazing light. The grin had faded, her pale visage contemplative. Briefly she appeared as though trying to remember something with difficulty. A moment later, her brow relaxed and the corners of her lips were straight and unmoved.
“Whatever agreement we had—if there was one, for my memory fails me—it’s all off now. Null and void. I can’t have any more commitments weighing me down.”
Vespyr turned back to Katsuri, whose figure from this angle was dark, lit from behind by the glowing twilight. The world seemed to have changed colour again, and was now bathed in soft tones of rose and violet.

Legs bent, awkward at first, but soon, the beast had risen back up to his full height at the edge of that building. Those ears were open, and he listened to every word she said, and yet, at the same time his eyes seemed to have drifted shut. Change. The scenery was changing, the light slowly fading, disappearing into the distance and leaving those red tendrils out over the landscape. The warmth was just barely from his face as he opened those eyes back up and looked at her, smiling.
That head of his shook. It just shook. As if, telling her no, which was its purpose of course..It would not be so easy to negate a 'contract' with Katsuri. Particularly since she had made herself known as a variable in this city.. and in the school, even if it was not to learn, but for other.. more.. sinister needs.
A lick of his lips and he stepped down off the railing onto the roof of the building. Those massive feet carrying him towards her, gradually, inch by inch, slowly, as a beast should have been.. but he was also ready to move. Thumbs hooked in the curves of the pockets of his tailored suit, and the balls of those feet lingering just a little too long for his typical gait. He was ready to bound at her at a seconds notice. "Mm. I made a promise.. a pact.. and I do plan on keeping it. Irregardless of your indecision or lack of commitment." The way he was speaking was as if she was not longer even a part of the ultimate plan.. which was true in some respect, but in others, not so much. It was honestly just the way that head of his was screwed on that caused to come out in such a manner.

Her eyes narrowed.
She should have known he would be stubborn… after all; he was a man, one of those that could and would throw his weight around, regardless of what she had said. He simply would not accept it, it seemed.
As he came toward her, Vespyr’s hand tightened around the slingshot and her shoulders stiffened slightly. She remembered, as if long ago but still poignant, his large paw enclosing her neck, suffocating her. She remembered not liking it, not liking him, not liking being forced. She recalled another; not as tall and not as strong, but infinitely stubborn and eager to force her. He wanted to control her, turn her into something useful, and wield her upon the world as a weapon. From him she had learned how not to be forced. She would rather die.
Her eyes had darkened noticeably. Swiftly, but not hastily, she had drawn the slingshot and was aiming it at Katsuri with full intent to use it defensively. She had taken three steps backward as he approached, and felt the edge of the rooftop with her bare heel.
“Not… another… step…”
Her voice was low and rumbling like an animal’s growl, her eyes grave and piercing.
“What promise?” she growled disdainfully through gritted teeth.

Like an animal, when cornered she rose to instinct, that slingshot of hers coming up almost instantly.. and with it she'd have seen a toothy grin before a blur was in her face. That large hand of his clamping down over the hand holding the length of the slingshot, easily encompassing the entirety of it as he looked to her.. it was obvious, that if he'd seemed a monster before, he was no something.. worse.
"Don't threaten others unless you know two things.. their potential.. and that you'll fire the minute you draw." Cold, lifeless, the words were far from joking, and they came with his body lurching uncomfortably close to her own, all semblances of a grin, or even any sense of relaxed composure was replaced by tension, ready to strike.. in the blink of an eye to snuff out any resistance put up by her. "Your little games up here are far from how a true killer operates.. and I suggest you reevaluate them before you even think of pointing that thing at me again."
Did he tell her never to point? That was just it.. it was not the pointing in and of itself that had him in such a mood, it was how she was pointing it. The grip on her hand did not fade, even after he shifted on to other things. "This is part of the reason why I do not care for your dismissal of our agreement." Said with a shrug of his shoulders, smile back again, that tension seeming to release itself from the atmosphere even if he did not let her go. "As for what the agreement is? Simple. I train you. I grind you into dust. You come out stronger, and so do I in some regards. Mutually beneficial.. no?"

With the giant’s hand trapping her own, she knew a quick and easy escape was no longer an option. Her heel tested the edge of the rooftop as she glared bitterly at Katsuri, and instead of struggling away from him, she remained tense and motionless as he spoke.
"As for what the agreement is? Simple. I train you. I grind you into dust. You come out stronger, and so do I in some regards. Mutually beneficial.. no?"
“No.” [/b][/blockquote]Vespyr promptly released the pouch from her right hand, which had not been seized and had still been ready to strike. At such close proximity and with such force, the pebble would most likely embed itself deep between the giant’s knuckles. She let her right hand drop to her side, her shoulders relaxed; a perplexing display of calmness for one so opposed to being bossed around, it seemed. Her eyes had a sudden emptiness to them as she stared hard at Katsuri, not even bothering to look at the damage she may have caused to his hand. Deep within it, hers had gone limp and she sighed heavily, almost as if to say she lacked the patience to bother fighting with him. Had she given in?[/blockquote] ooc: Sorry for shortness/lateness D: I've really been struggling with my muse lately, and added to that i've been busy... [/excuses][/size]

She'd have found it did not penetrate nearly as much as her first assumption had been. It met rough flesh firstly, then a broken down skeletal structure which had been rebuilt into what was akin to folded steel. The pebble fell to the ground, leaving a little red spot where it had impacted, and just a little bit of blood from the friction generated when said impact happened.
It got nothing more then a glance to his hand then back to her, shaking his head. " Too late for release now." With a smile on his lips, as he stepped forwards, that girl, so close to the edge would have found the big man hopping up on the railing with her, dangling her there, watching her close, those eyes not wavering, and yet, somehow, not to the point he was trying to drill into her soul.
That smile did not waver, even as he held her by her arm, just over the edge of the roof. "Your concern, or answer, is really not a part of this conversation. I can find you. I can train you.. regardless of rather you want it or not, unless of course, you end your own life.." A shrug of his shoulders. "And if thats the case, I can end your life right here for you."
The fall? Nah. That would not kill her, but four-hundred-fifty-seven pounds falling after and landing on her from this height? That would kill her..hell, it would probably make her funeral a closed casket or cremation just out of respect to the living. "So.. why don't you reconsider that attitude.. it may not matter.. but it makes life a lot easier."

Vespyr felt her heels slip into the open air, her body weightless for a harsh moment as she dropped, and then she was dangling several feet from the building with a somewhat cross expression on her face. Her eyes were closed and her brow was furrowed, and yet she appeared somewhat calm still. She tried to, at least. She had taken a deep breath and opened her eyes, peering down at the dark windows of the brick building and the sidewalk below them. The fall wouldn’t kill her, but she didn’t expect to get up and walk away from it. Walking away was far from what she intended.
She looked up again, her face grave.
“Drop me.” This was probably going to hurt.

"Oh? Got a set in there somewhere now do ya?"
He just laughed slightly and shook his head. "Tsk tsk.." Release. The big man dropped her, thats right, straight up dropped her. Of course, he went a few moments after, following her down, that smile on his lips the entire time.
At least until she impacted with the blacktop, no, what followed that was a disappointed look with his own feet coming down to land nice and hard. One foot on either side of her head.. a mere inch away from cracking her skull open like an egg. He dropped. Fully, bent to the point his face was nearly into her own. Staring at her.
"You're just prolonging the inevitable... you know this don't you?" Said as he looked down at her.. she was not as weak as she had been, so it was doubtful she'd sustain even long-term injuries from the drop, the building was just not that high up. No. If he had landed on her, from that height, however, that would have been another story.

As soon as she felt her hand being released, Vespyr’s eyes sprung alive. She hadn’t a moment to lose; already she felt herself plummeting.
The first thing she did was curl her upper body forward in midair, simultaneously lashing out one leg toward one of the small windows. As she was only several feet from the building, she was able to successfully shatter it, ignoring the sting of the glass as she withdrew the leg swiftly, getting it out of the way. A mere half-second later, her outstretched arms met harshly with the ledge below the window, and with all her strength she was able to heave herself up and through, and came tumbling into a pile of glass, grinning madly as Katsuri would be passing her by at that exact moment.
It had been a risky move, yes, but one that she had accomplished several times before, having had years of narrow escapes for practice. She rose promptly to her feet, ignoring the blood that was pooling on the floor, and glanced at the window through which she had come. Couldn’t be more than three feet wide and four feet tall; there was no way the giant could follow her through as swiftly as she had flown in. Contented with this, she picked up the slingshot from a puddle of her own warm blood and ran.
Down a hallway, leaving a trail of blood. Down stairs. She nearly slipped several times, a combination of speed and slippery surface wherever her crimson feet touched, but eventually made it to a door on the complete other side of the building. It led to a dark alleyway. Vespyr was grinning, her eyes ablaze with adrenaline. Her body felt as if it were on fire. She would most certainly be more than sore later, but there was no time to lose.
She kept running, into the darkness of the alleyway where she all but disappeared into the shadows. The alleyways of the city were a labyrinth, and if pursued into them, Vespyr could vanish easily, for the dark ways through the city were inscribed on her brain.

As he began to fall, he watched her.. she were no more capable of twisted and turns then he were, and it came with him rolling himself forwards, clamping down hard, backwards, against that edge and slamming his feet into the side of the building. A nice tight tug and she'd see him come back up if she were looking, slamming those massive dress shoe clad feet into the side of the building, practically forcing half of it back in on itself.
He followed suit, jamming himself into the hole and then looking right at her. "Tut tut..where do you think you're going?" He looked to his hand, picked a hunk of glass free of it, and tossed it to the side before smiling at her, shifting his head first left, then right.. he was rather annoyed at this point.
Letting loose a soft little sigh before he began walking towards her rather quickly. She was trying to escape, and he was not having any of it, not after she was so cocky in being dropped. "What happened to falling and splatting hmm?" He asked as he continued on, those hands of his at his side, blood practically willed to stay within his body, that cut not so much as oozing on his suit.
