The smell of excitement and adrenaline filled the air. All around the courtyard of PHS 259 were students ready to see one hell of a spectacle. The sun shown bright in the sky warming everything it touched. It was after school hours, but there were still plenty of people around to watch. Teachers and students alike gathered in masses around a boxing/wrestling style ring. The Student Liberation Front’s Tag Team Tournament was about to begin.
Rows of steel chairs surrounded the ring on all 4 sides. The courtyard was packed with people waiting for this controlled carnage. The SFL’s Tag Team Tournament was their first event. From here they would pick enforcers of its Student Guard wing. They would also announce to the audience that they were looking for people to become senators to join the SLF and enforce student run government.
A sound system was set up with 8 speakers all attached to a wireless microphone held by a tall lean black man in the center of the ring. He was part of the school, but Roth’s personal friend Marcus. He had bribed his black friend to due this since he had such charisma when speaking and announcing. The event was about to get under way. This would be one hell of a night.
“Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Student Liberation Front’s Tag Team Tournament! We have twelve of the school best fighters lined up for this event, so let me inform you all how it’ll all go down. There are 6 teams each comprised of 2 fighters. We will have 3 Tag Team matches. The 3 winning teams will move onto a singles competition.
This is all in the spirit of school pride and competition. So I want ya’ll to do me a favor. I want you all to scream, I want ya’ll to beg, I want ya’ll to plead for all of these fine young men and woman you are about to beat the living hell out of each other. I want you to scream for them when they walk into this ring! I want you to beg for those guys to fight their heart out! And I want you to plead for when one guy goes down, to get back up so you can see something the likes of which you ain’t never seen before!”
Marcus always handled a crowd perfectly. The students and even some teachers were roaring in excitement. They were pumped up to see the violence. But this was different, this was controlled violence. This was giving the students what they wanted in a way they could control it without total anarchy. This was the Student Liberation Front. And this was only the beginning. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Here came the last match. The canvas of the ring was now blood smeared all over. The crowd of students and teachers were in shock by the level of violence induced so far. Marcus hoped back into the ring as the 4 contestants were cleared out.
"259! We ready for more!?"
The bar of standards was set extremely high now. This was the final Tag Team bout before the singles tournament. If nobody knew about the Student Liberation Front, they did now.
"Alright, this is our last Tag Team match before we get into singles action. Black Team v Purple Team.
Coming up first is a nice young man coming in at 5'8 and 152lbs. His name: ORION SMITH!
And his partner on the Black team. A good deal of you know his name. A height of 6'1 and weighing in at 195lbs. MATHEW ATRUM!
Against them is the Purple Team: First for them, standing at 5 foot 9 inches and weighing in at 157lbs. KIYOSHI AKECHI!
And his partner, a legend in his own right. Height: 6'3. Weight: 200lbs. DAVID BLAZE!
Even with all the violence they had already seen, the crowd still cheered for more. This was the last four man match of the night. The crowd wanted to see the Tag Team portion go out with a bang. It was up tho the fighters now. Marcus slipped back into his seat as the bell rang and the match was under way.

Orion let out a soft chuckle as they all were announced. Nice young man? Roth evidently hadn't dealt with Orion that much, let alone met Shadow. Oh well. Orion cast a look at his partner.
"I guess we may as well skip the introductions at this point, except pleased to meet you. You have a plan that would sound really useful at this point?"
Orion had heard of Mathew. Apparently, he was insanely strong. He had also heard of David Blaze, and had fought Kiyoshi himself. The outcome of this match was fairly balanced.

"It's Amtrum you dumbfuck!" He called out to the moron that mispronounced his last name.
Other than his distaste directed toward the announcer Mathew stood ready, basking in the admiration and praise that was being heaped his way. This was more he liked it, people cheering for him, those that knew who he was and what he could do were putting bets on him. Those that didn't were likely going to lose their money. There just was nothing quite like the sound of your name being called out to screaming fans, or people screaming in fear. Really just screaming was nice.
He had no clue who his partner was, never seen him before in his life. That kind of annoyed him because he didn't know if he was going to be worthless and a hindrance or if he was actually worth something in this partnership.
Mathew quirked an eyebrow at his partner's words telling him they should skip the introductions but he was pleased to meet Mathew. Well it certainly was a rarity for someone to be pleased to meet him. He was lucky that Mathew was on his team or else he would be very displeased to meet Mathew.
"Plan? Don't get your ass knocked out. If you need to just tap me in and I will take care of it." He said with a cocky grin as he pushed his hair to the side looking at the ring he leaned against the ropes. From what he understood since he was called second this kid would be going first, though Mathew was sure that he would get tapped in soon enough.

These people wanted a show… Kiyoshi would give them one they’d never forget. He’d had a few of the more technologically inclined students set up his own little stereo system in one of the buildings. So when the young Japanese student started the stroll out toward the little ring set up that had been laid out for this event, those same students kicked up the volume to an almost deafening level. Blasting a song that vocalized what he was feeling at this moment…
War is the Answer
It didn’t matter whether or not his supposed teammate showed up or not, Kiyoshi had all the rage he needed to win this single handedly given the recent developments of just a day or so earlier. This was no longer some simple tournament but a mission of destruction. He had planned to get out his target at a later date but given the fact that the person was a combatant then there was no reason to delay it. With each step toward the ring his blood continued to boil in his veins, especially with the reminder of the one who’d informed him already present… not that he needed it. Just to enforce his mood, even entering with his own music Kiyoshi did not smile or gesture to the crowd in any manner. Instead his eyes were intently focused on the other two combatants that had already arrived, a great malevolence within his eyes.
Kiyoshi climbed into the ring without dropping eye contact from the two. He’d wrapped his hands, worn a tight sleeveless shirt, jeans, and heavy boots. Nothing out of the ordinary but it was all business. Waiting for the official beginning of this match, Kiyoshi stood at the center of the ring awaiting the one that would oppose him. One thing was certain…
… this was the answer.

'What does it mean to be...me?'Thoughts like this weren't uncommon for the young Blaze, who sat in the locker wrapping his wrists, hands, and knuckles. A man, large and rather vicious looking, came back and patted him on the shoulder. " Their announcing names." David looked over his shoulder a moment, before he continued wrapping. "Who are they?" He didn't care, really. This tournament was nothing but a scam, a way to find the best and rope them into the SLF. David was already a part of that group, for now. He had his...doubts about Jayr as a leader. as a person. She was strong willed, definitely, but she seemed to have a judgmental attitude about her. She assumed that what was said by rumor was automatically truth. He was not...self righteous. It wasn't concieted, godly, or egotistical to do and be what he was. He fought to protect, or for fun. Always when the other person knew it, wanted it, or accepted their fate. He didn't try and flaunt himself, he just- " --nd Amtrum." He paused. "Mathew Amtrum?" The guy nodded, leaning against the locker. David kept wrapping. Good. He might get a fight out of this yet. Music started playing, and he knew his time was up. He grabbed his coat, throwing it over his torso and zipping it up, the black flame lettering along the shoulder-blades flashing in the semi-darkness. He exited the locker, patting the big guy on the shoulder. "Thanks max." He pulled up his hood. He walked out into the crowd, keeping his eyes on the ring as he made his way toward the fight that would likely hold the champion of the SLF tag team tournament. He got into the ring, ignoring the touching hands and pats on his shoulders from the crowd. As he got in, he looked at both fighters whom he would be competing against. He didn't know the other boy- perhaps a great fighter in his own right. Amtrum, as far as he knew, was the serious threat. He looked to his partner. Something...familiar about him. He looked at the one who would start, and gave a confirming nod, small and short. "Things will get hectic, be ready." And he would get out, allowing Kiyoshi to compete first. OOC((sorry this took so long.))

"It's Amtrum you dumbfuck!"
Orion let out a chuckle as his partner yelled at the announcer for messing up his name. He was going to like this guy.
"Plan? Don't get your ass knocked out. If you need to just tap me in and I will take care of it."
Orion gave a quick nod.
"Thanks... I guess. Hmm, I wonder if I can.... excuse me. Looks like I'm up first. However..."
Orion reached under his seat and pulled out two bottles of everclear and stuffed them in his jacket quickly. He wouldn't even blink if he got a weird stare from Mathew. He would only comment one thing:
"There's more under there if you need it."
Orion clambered onto the ring, not ever removing his eyes from his opponent. Orion stood up straight and called out to Kiyoshi.
"HEY KIYOSHI! I BET I CAN OUTDRINK YOU LIKE THE STUPID JAP YOU ARE! I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DRINKING CONTEST! WINNER GETS TO BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF THE DRUNKEN LOSER!"
If that didn't piss Kiyoshi off, it would at least have Orion challenge him to a drinking contest. And if the outcome of the fight depended on a drinking contest.... well, Orion was just gonna win.

Kiyoshi ignored the comment from whoever is partner was, given the fact that he did not take the effort to adjust his gaze from the opponents to look. It was rare that he was this focused on something, not since he’d left his old life. This meant there was no physical response from the Japanese junior when the Glowstick entered the ring or when he issued the challenge. It was all met simply with the steely gaze of indifference and given the information the Glowstick’s own partner had given to Kiyoshi earilier there was little that could be done to agitate him further. Not to mention he was planning on destroying one person already… forcing your way onto that list wasn’t a great strategy.
Without a word, Kiyoshi started to walked across the arena at a casual pace. There was no hurry in him due to that same focus, any unnecessary haste might cause a mistake. His blood ran cold, an usual feeling for the often hot-tempered and aggressive fighter but when given a goal it was necessary to remove polluting emotions from the equation to ensure success. Kiyoshi halted two steps away from the Glowstick without a change in any manner to his demeanor, the only noise coming from him was the crackling of knuckles as he clenched the fists at his sides. He cracked a small sneer before speaking in a venomous manner.
“Fine.”
A short simple response from the Akechi man as he extended his hand out to receive the drink that this contest was to be conducted with, his eyes never faltering from the boy. There was little trust to be had for the noisy upstart and even less respect. Frankly, Kiyoshi had no idea who the kid was and figured the only reason his name had been used was because it was announced. However after this the boy would remember for the rest of his life.

Mathew just shook his head and laughed silently to himself when the other team had it's fighters announced. First there was Kiyoshi who was going to take over the school, and then there was David Blaze the self proclaimed hero of 259. He didn't expect to fight him in the first round, it was a little disappointing to him truth be told. He had hoped that if they did fight it would be some awesome fight at the finals or something, now no matter what one of the best fighters was getting knocked out in the first round. Hell the winner of this round would probably win the tournament.
As if things were not sad enough, his partner pulled out two bottles of booze and challenged his opponent to a drinking contest. Mathew couldn't help but facepalm at that. He was fucked, he was so fucked it wasn't even funny. This was a fighting tournament and there his partner was going to start drinking. Mathew just kept shaking his head as he left his spot and moved to the other side of the ring where Blaze would be, it was tag in, he didn't care what side of the ring he was on, besides he wanted to ask Blaze something.
"You know this is a scam right?" He asked Blaze as he took up a spot leaning against the ring, his eyes watching whatever fight might break out. The question however was directed to Blaze and he hoped Blaze would get that he was the only person near enough that would be worth talking to. Otherwise Mathew would just be talking to himself it would seem.

David paused, looking at Mathew before sighing and shaking his head.
"Obviously. This isn't a tournament. It's a joke. People come to watch a fight, not a drinking contest, or a mockery of fighting."
He stepped down off the ring side.
"I'm outta here."
And with that, he'd proceed through the crowd, abandoning Kiyoshi to the powers that be.
