The best place to be, curled up on a chair reading a novel. The quiet place hidden among the chaos at the school. It was first period, and Aurora had finished her class work early...as normal. She had no social life... not really at least, and the only thing that really got laughs out of her was a good book.
The pale girl had asked permission to go to the library, and gotten it. Here she was, picking out a few books she had yet to read by her favorite authors. Carefully walking with the stack of books she went to the check out desk.
Pulling out her id card, Aurora quickly made sure all five books would be hers for the next two weeks. She'd be back before then, returning them and getting new ones... but for now, this was wonderful. Four of the five was simple novels, tales of knights and princesses. The fifth was actually a cook book. She wanted to try out new things at home.
She turned, carrying the books again when her foot caught on the edge of a table. Down she went with a gasp. All her books scattered across the floor, and the now red faced girl plastered on the floor. Oh...she hated moments like these.

The sound of the unoiled brakes of a bicycle screeched loudly through the seemingly calm morning air, a slightly large figure riding a small, worn-out bicycle accompanying the irritating sound. Removing himself from the bike, the figure revealed itself to be a young man, his face, save the lower portion, was veiled by the shade of his hooded tracksuit. The black and white theme of his outfit made his appearance bland, though the abstract design of black flames helped with this somewhat. Walking his cruddy bike to what he assumed to be the school fence, he knelt down and chained the bicycle to the fence with an equally shitty chain, which he could probably break off just by placing his foot on the fence and pulling on it. The young man rose from his crouching position only to freeze, staring ahead in amazement.
"Wha... what is this?"
Jin continued to gaze ahead, amazed by the sight before him: four large, four story buildings stood sturdily adjacent to each other, and in the centre of the buildings was a massive courtyard complete with a giant clock that towered over everything else and then some, as if trying to pierce through the clouds and into the heavens. He remained motionless, staring at the spectacle, "This school dwarfs the one I attended back home for freshman year. So, this is America, eh?"[/b] Jin stepped through the gates of the school, feeling very anxious and alienated, as he had just landed in the U.S. but a few hours ago, and he was already applying for an education. He held his upper arms and began rubbing them for he felt a subtle tingling sensation go through his body, as if signaling a bad omen of some sort. Confused about where to go on his first day of school, he decided to head for the building closest to him rather than wander around aimlessly in the courtyard; hopefully someone of authority within the school would notice him acting very perplexed and guide him to where he needed to be.

Outside. She needed to get outside. Already her pale face was bright red, the other students around her were whispering behind her books and hands, giggling at the freshman. Quickly, she picked up the books, and shoved them into her backpack resting on the chair she had tripped over.
Then she slung the light green backpack onto her shoulders and quickly headed for the door. Oh how she hated this! She had been wearing a skirt too!! Some of them had probably seen her underware... and the fact made Aurora ready to cry. The dark brown skirt swirled around her knees as she ran for it. The lacy white button up shirt would have down the same if the girl hadn't been hugging herself. No...she wouldn't cry here...she needed to go outside to do that.
The red head launched herself out into the courtyard, ready to crawl up in some corner and cry, when she ran head first into someone. She fell again, landing on her butt.
"I-I-I'm so sorry!!!"
She stuttered it out, still on the edge of tears. Her head was down, hazel eyes staring at the ground as her face grew a brighter red. Could she just stop messing up for once?!? And Aurora was shy, she didn't like speaking loudly, or drawing attention to herself... the past five minutes had been hell to her. Why was life like this?

He went from perplexed, to very perplexed.
Jin hadn't even gotten inside the building yet and something had happened to him. Maybe this was what that tingling feeling was about? Some bad omen. It was like a red blur -- whatever hit him felt small and delicate, and when that red blur met his sturdy frame it felt as if he had shattered the fragile thing. He usually wouldn't be knocked over by such force, but he was caught by surprise, even though he should've been more aware as he was in foreign territory. Jin stumbled backwards a bit before retaining his balance. His hood had flown off when that thing hit him, revealing his fiery red hair and deep, insightful eyes; he paid his hood no mind as he was more concerned with looking for what hit him. The young man's head flew back and forth, looking more confused than he had initially looked. "I-I-I'm so sorry!!!" he heard a voice yell, and looked down to see a girl sitting on the ground, head hung shamefully and small frame quivering slightly. "Was she the one that bumped into me? No need to be so upset about it; accidents happen,"[/b] he thought to himself, kneeling down as the girl was much smaller in stature compared to him, and extended his hand towards her, offering to help her up. Jin opened his mouth, attempting to say something, but stopped; "What if I sound like a retard with my broken english? I'll have to think of another way."[/b] He thought about another method of communication as he waited for the girl to notice his offer

She took several deep breaths, trying to be calmer than this mess. She was stronger than this...wasn't she? Aurora couldn't remember the last time she wanted to cry like this. Everyone had been laughing at her. Snickering... it was just...too much. Where was Zade now?
The pale girl made herself not cry, the bright red tint on her cheeks didn't leave, but she didn't cry. No, Aurora had more will than that, though it quivered like her body for a moment.
"I really am sorry."
Her voice was soft again, normal despite the emotions running through her. Slowly standing up on her own, she didn't even look up at the person before her. Instead she dusted off her skirt, where the ground had dirtied it.
But she had to look at who it was. They hadn't spoken anything, not a word. What if they were upset?!? Her large hazel eyes peeked up as her chin lifted slightly. She didn't even know whoever it was, but she looked, still embarrassed with herself.

"I really am sorry." the girl said softly, Jin nearly missing it as her voice was almost inaudible. He felt somewhat insulted when she rose by herself, totally disregarding his help; as she stood up Jin follow suit, finding himself practically overshadowing the petite girl. The girl began brushing the dirt off of her skirt, the fall she took soiling it. She hadn't even glanced at him yet, as if she was concerned only for herself, despite the fact she had already apologized; twice, as a matter of fact.
Jin continued to ponder a way to communicate without having to speak. Just as he began to brainstorm, two hazel orbs caught his attention; the girl had perked her head up to look at him. For some reason he felt naked, and realized what it was as he reached up to scratch his head, "Shit![/b] he mentally cursed, his hand shooting instantly back to pull his hood up, the shadows once again consuming his features. Still pulling blanks with what he should do, he decided to use hand gestures; hopefully in America they didn't find any of them offensive. Seeing as the girl looked quite flustered, he opted for a positive signal: a half-hearted thumbs up, because Jin wasn't really the enthusiastic type.
