Ok Ive seen some stuff lately, and heard a lot of things from a lot of people. The way things are going the board even though its got a nice active member base right now I give it 2 months, tops. I can not stress right now how much this post of mine is not to offend anyone but to just help things get back to a healthy way. Honestly I do not want this turning into a flame thread or if one of my points feels like its aimed at you there is no need for you to defend yourself. We are all big boys and girls here and I am not calling you out even if it feels like I might be.

1. Xin is dead. This board like most others is at best loosely based off of a flash that ended and in the end their pillar system and school system was reformed. Xin didnt have items and qi wasnt as relevant. Point Im making here is this does not have to be strictly limited to XIN laws and physics cause well it already isnt. Stop being a purist and realize just how different this board is from Xin the flash. Just the fact that you joined and stayed means you can adapt. So ya know adapt.

1a. Stop trying to bring it back to the pillar system. In my expierience when people become pillars or school captains they tend not to be very active or stop posting for fear of losing their title. If you want to be the good guys and give yourself titles be original and make your own gang that clearly states what they want to do. Seriously if someone is a school captain and tells you to do something, are you going to do it... probably not.

1b. Stop trying to make it seem like the teachers are beating the crap out of students. We have plenty of active teachers on the board. They arent going around kicking the shit out of students. That part of the plot from Xin is dead, try to evolve past that and focus on developing new storylines. Some people on here have ideas to get things moving that awesome. There is always going to be someone who opposes your ideas, keep it IC thats how we get rivalries and meaningful fights going.

2. This is a stats board. Awesome lets keep it real though. If your stats are triple digit no one wants to fight you. Chances are you are guilty of one of two things.

2a. You have a god item that you wont give up or alter because you put in so much work or money to get it. Im sorry but anything giving you more than +5 in 2 stats is a touch much. Only hard earned quest items should give you some great multiplier but nothing ridiculous.

2b.So your either doing that or you are playing your stats like you are a super hero. Even with Xin physics you shouldnt be lifting cars or leaping buildings in a single bound. The way I see & use stats is always as such, I have 60 dex you have 120, you move 2x faster than me. This doesnt make you the flash this just means you move double my relative speed. Am I guilty of whoring my stats? Yes. Do I use them heavy, sometimes I do. Do people who are relatively weaker than me ever cause me damage..... yes they do.

2c. Statless threads. This is a stats board so if you fight statless well this isnt Burgerking you cant always have it your way. Sometimes youll have to fight using stats even if you prefer not to. BUT if you are making the thread and it says statless anyone who joins needs to understand that. Statless is rp skill. Its a completely different type of fight. You should try to learn how to do it cause it really does help you become a better writer but if you cant do it, dont join and if you still join expect to lose. If someone wants a thread to be statless they know what they are doing 99% of the time. Its all about manners give and take. Stat people will have to go statless from time to time. Statless people will have to use the stats they never boosted from the start from time to time.

3. Manners. God this is a big one. I have rped with a very large portion of the board thus far as one character or another. There is no one on the board who is a newb unless well they just started out. Maybe you think you are better then others, hell maybe you are, dont talk down to people about how they rp. If you are writing a epic long post for every reply and getting short ones in turn, its acceptable. Short posts keep things interesting. Chanes are your being skimmed if you write mroe than 3 paragraphs so your just wasting your time or satisfying your own self.

3a. Mods and Admins are the bosses. Unless it is a huge unfair thing to you do what they say. If it is unfair to you dont make it public to the whole board, talk to another staff. If they said somethign to you as opposed to posting it for the board to see well then they didnt want the whole board to see. Common sense would suggest you dont make it public yourself.

3b. The Vetis god modding resolution plan. Sadly I constantly feel like I am godding people. Sometimes I think others are godding me. This is how I go about it. If I feel either myself or my opponent are godding I ask a friend to skim the thread and give me there honest opinion. If they say neither one is godding I drop it. If I am godding I try to adjust. If they see the other person is godding I calmly talk to them over MSN. We work it out ourselves and the rp staff is left without a issue. If I cant talk to them over msn we go to staff. What they say goes whether you like it or not. So try to work it out yourself.


4. Staff is busy but the board is growing. Get some more staff and divey up the work. Thats just a suggestion cause your all overworked. Other than that your doing what you need to do and are far more democratic then I would be.

5. I have a life but I want to rp. Thats fine and hey man we are glad to have you when you have the time. But if you cant be on to help important threads move along please dont join. I speak of classes and quests but also major threads. Its one thing if life hit you by surprise but if you know you cant be to active dont make peolpe wait on you. Open threads buyer beware, they should be able to post at their leisure, they made the thread.

6. This one happens a lot of the time in the Xiniverse. Things dont go your way or you think you can run a better board. Hey thats cool man and if thats what you need to do to have fun more power to you. A few things to consider though when you make your own xin board. What are the chances of you coming back here? What are the chances of you splitting the member base and one or both boards going under? Am I doing it cause Im angry about something little or do I really have a fresh new idea that is going to work?


If you feel anyone of these was an attack on you, well it wasnt. Honestly I am hoping the board can just get over its own individual egos and have fun again. Hate to be the one to point it out but most Xin boards are dead. Either adapt and keep this/your board going or this/your board will probably be a memory. Honestly I dont want this thread to be locked so if you have something angry to say to me my MSN is [e-mail] flame me there. If theres anything you dont agree on, same thing MSN me.

If you have something constructive and I mean actually constructive to help this board back on the right track by all means post.

Great post man. I think you really said what was needed to be said. I think a lot of us here, including myself, have a lot to learn and think about from this post. I see exactly what you're saying and back it 100% even though I've been on the opposite side of a few of those regulations.

I love RPing and in my opinion I love this type here the most. Everything else is directly based off of an Anime, video game, or Twilight. This board is inspired by Xin, but is no longer a major part of the story. In truth every part of this board is made by the people for the people. This board is everyones own story though they're own unique character with a splash of crack physics and super powers. It's amazingly original compared to a lot of other boards I've tried to RP on since the fall of Chula Vista.

I've only been here for 3 weeks and have made friends and people I have disagreed with but would like to become friends. I'd be sad to see it go and just hope we can all keep this great thing going.

I'm going to interject on the whole idea of this not being a XIN-related anymore. I'm currently busy with other threads, making my point quick.

If we got rid of the idea of pillars and what not then you destroy the core of what is every PHS ALL of you have ever RPed on. Not only is it a necessary, but constant rule of thumb... What kind of RPB would you have at that point? Either another pointless school brawler or, EVEN WORSE, a boring teen high school drama. Which I can tell all of you right now, wouldn't have weathered the 6-7 years this RPing concept has.

Anyways. That's my penny for the moment.

But its not so much based on the Pillar system. Lets see over the past 2-3 months there have been next to no word on the pillars whatsoever. And we've had an extreme boom in activity. In the past week a claim for a title and apparent ooc criticism about and it seems to have brought things to a careening stop. This is were I'd like to commend Jame's comments.

For 1 Xin is dead. The flash series was a short one at that and quickly grew as characters generally do, it became a focus from the pillars to a grander scheme which many seem to pass up which has been a focus of a great many rpers I've taken a notice to. An evolution of sorts. You look at RPers like Leon who remodeled the Pillar system to encorperate Armies, Corey for setting up an NPC system ideal to better personalize things. Even IC like Mikey and Unfettered who'd stirred the cauldron a great many times with plot devices. Jayr who's made it a point to press for further evolution of the school itself. Its not so much about flat out Xin anymore its about building, that creative spark we all seem to harbor and pursue.

2. Granted we all harbor our sins on that account. Thats why those of us who realize this evolve our characters, that seems to be the word in this post. Evolve. I myself as has Leon no doubt have seen our characters as behemoths and move them up to teachers. Kinda balances the playing field for conflict to revolve on a much more even basis on the student level. Petty conflict such as titles and others can be pursued more generously.

3. Cant tell you how much I agree with that; Personal input I've been on all too many Xin boards where things blow up over small things like words. Things get heated its alright we're all human but think before you speak, this is the Internet after all things get fuzzy. If you feel you're getting angry or something is misinterpreted just step away, take a breath and probably take ten. It does miracles.

4. *shrug*
I have my own input on this I'll keep to myself but I just power through things as staff. Everyone's different it can't be helped. If things get too hard as staff pertaining towards workload by all means do it, but it is a privilege not a right. If you're staff put the effort in to fill the shoes you were made to.

5. I'm a fan of the skip rule. If a thread is being held up by one person for an extended period of time. (Mine is generally 2 weeks) Send them a msg telling them why you skipped them in a respectable manner then do so. Theres generally a good explanation, if they're lurking its generally they cant gather the muse or whatnot if they've poofed they're either gone or technical issues. It cant be helped sometimes.

6. I'm a big offender of this, not ashamed of that I just feel that I have a lot to contribute and not enough people listening or willing to try it out. So none taken James its a very valid point but also like you said the chances of coming back here are rather high considering 259 never dies. ^_^
I'd say let it happen, co-board efficiency works amazingly well in pushing new systems. Look at 552/259, in their primes transfers popped in here and there was amazing conflict and growth brought about through an exchange of ideals. Its similar to what I'm doing with 774 atm, gathering ideals from what I've seen.


I'd say the biggest thing to take from this is Conflict. I don't condone it OOC, but it brings about powerful growth. Through conflict we can establish what works and what doesn't and grow from that.
