It was a tragedy, it really was. I couldn't help but scowl as I started to lay out the lemon bars and brownies on the table. The brownies would be sold for two dollars a piece and the lemon bars would be a dollar fifty each. I just couldn't get over what a shame this all was, so many people hurt over something so stupid. Both the Student Liberation Front and the New School Captain were major problems for this school and the people that inhabit it.
The new School Captain was a recent addition to the scene. At least he wasn't anyone important in the school until recently. He kind of just showed up out of nowhere. As for the Student Liberation Front, I saw it as one of two ways. Either they didn't expect a riot or any kind of dissent and were thus stupid and unfit to lead. Or they did see it and used it as a trap to get those that opposed them out in the open. If that was the case they were sadistic for setting a trap that would get so many innocent students hurt. Either way I felt that neither party has a right to lead. I have doubts that either are really for the people.
It didn't take long for me to finish setting up, the table was fairly plain with only some painted construction paper informing people that there was a bake sale and the prices were laid out on index cards. I wished I could do more, that we could do more. However unlike what seems to be a large majority of the school my family is not rich, but in the wake of the riot there were a lot of injured students.
And like me some of them didn't have a lot of money or health insurance. This bake sale is to help those that can not help themselves. To aid the students that had been caught in the cross fire. I just hope we can make a difference.
"Come one come all ladies and gentlemen! We have brownies, we have lemon bars! We have all kinds of goods for you to buy and best of all, all proceeds go to paying the medical bills of those injured during the riot!" I called out to the crowd trying to draw them over to our humble sale.

My heart was torn, I knew I could help the people that were hurt myself, but it would take a really long time. And what if I did it wrong? What if I just caused more pain? What if the people I were healing were just going to go out and hurt others again? It really sucked having to decide for myself when or when not to make use of that power. But something I did know for certain was that people who paid for food at bake sales were good people, or at least they were doing something good. The money would be used to help those injured.
Along with baking an assortment of cupcakes and different styles of muffins, I brought a large tray of pamphlets on different health coverages and local free clinics that would serve people who had been badly beaten. Among those was one that my dad was constantly moonlighting at in his free time, and where I liked to volunteer every now and then. Having set up the pamphlets nicely I walked over by Tony, he was always good with talking to people. He should be a politician or something when he graduates.
"Don't be shy," I added in a less announced voice, "Buy two muffins and the third one is free, same goes for the cupcakes!" I said with a smile, hoping that I would attract more customers this way. I had spent a lot of time and allowance on the food I had made, I'm sure Tony didn't come by his contribution very easily either, it wasn't like we were made of money or anything. But we were moral human beings who cared. The rest of the world may have been desensitized to human suffering, but I haven't. And I don't think Tony has in the least either.

I was thankful that I was not the only one that saw the problems in the world. Andre seemed to see things the same way I did. Everyone was to busy fighting and hurting each other to do any real good. Everyone was just selfishly pushing along their own goals and agendas no matter who it hurt. I know it scares me to think that I might someday cause more harm then good. That is the trouble with the future, you never know what is in store.
I turned to face Andre, a warm grin on my face to see my best friend here at my side supporting those that were injured. He was smart to bring in the pamphlets. I hadn't thought of that, but it was an excellent way to get more people the help they needed. I spread my arms wide as I leaned in to give my large friend a huge hug. His contribution was sure to help this sale become a rousing success, and he was a good counter for me as I could get a little intense sometimes and that did scare some people.
"I'm so glad you could make it Chocolate Bear." I said as I embrace him. The hug would last around a good solid seven seconds, the length of a good hug before letting go and turning back to the booth to fiddle with one of the trays of brownies that was crooked. It was still early in the morning and the buses would be getting here soon, I hoped that with the buses would come business.

(ooc: Food you say? =D)
It had only been a few days or so since the SLF Riot. At least thats what everyone kept calling it. Truly the SLF hadn't started the riot, they only subdued the masses and worked against the anarchists. Roth was one of them. A hand of the force of the SLF. Hell he was a founding member. Him and Jayr had met once before and talk about it over lunch. What had started as a simple notebook had turned into the new student government.
Of course there were a few bumps to take care of along the way. The aftermath of the SLF Riot wasn't too great, but had an effect. Many people were hurt, and Roth had help take care of a great many of them. Much of the opposition had gotten away free. He had asked the injured students about the opposition. Mathew Amtrum, the man who could take bullets. Daniel Blaze, off the boat Irishman. And of course, Emil. The new 'School Captain'. The SLF would take care of all of those matters in due time.
For now he'd try his best to keep down any further opposition. Every now and then there'd be a few groups and gatherings of students feeding off the riot to make their own presence known. One by one Roth would take care of those groups. It wasn't too hard, the majority of those minor uprisings were just weaklings feeding off the aftershock of the strong. Pitiful.
It wasn't long before Roth had caught wind of the newest sensation of the day. Brownies, cupcakes, and muffins. Awesome. Roth was definitely tired after taking out the scum trying to start a second riot. The price was pretty fair as well, not to mention all of this went to the medical bills of those casualties of the SLF Riot. He approached the stand with wallet in hand looking to the two good men doing their part.
"Damn that smells good. I'll take 3 brownies, 2 muffins, and a cupcake. All chocolate if ya got it."
A smile would flash across his face as he approached them both. Good fellas for doing something like this. It was good to know that even among extreme violence there were good folks like this. Roth would look back to them with his same friendly smile after handing over a 100 dollar bill from his wallet.
"Consider the rest a gift from the SLF."

"Yes. Lets all praise the SLF."
Jeremiah stood suddenly, beside the man holding out the hundred dollar bill. Roth O'Roak. One didn't have to know the man to know his name. One of the pigs standing beside a group of individuals who liked to dub themselves owners over school matters. They didn't know shit. Jeremiah knew even less shit, but what little he did know whats that the SLF? Bad news. No fucken way he was gonna sit and listen to some pompous prick hand over a hundred dollar bill on behalf of some student let group. Pathetic. A dog of someone elses system, and he played like he mattered. None of them mattered. True- Jeremiah was a dog too, but hell, at least he knew it. He was born and bred for battle, for pulling people apart. No delusions of grandeur.
He held a brownie in his hand, putting a couple bucks into the hand of a student who was helping with the bake sale. He turned, looked down at Roth, and started to move away.
"Excuse me, i hate listening to senseless bullshit."
And he would walk away, obviously referring to the SLF in general. Jeremiah wasn't one to get involved in such matters. In truth, he didn't give two shit licks and a boar fuck what the man said or did. He was there for class, nothing else. He ran more outside the school. As he munched on his food, he thought back to the day of the riot, to his arrest. Many interesting things happened that day. He came to a stop, leaning against a large cement post while he ate, looking around for anyone of actual interest to him.
