The roof, a long time prowling ground of Daniel's. It was a good place to think and drink. To just stare off into the distance and wonder at what was, what had been, and what could have been. Daniel wondered about the future of this school. In the days since his release from prison he had started going back to school. The riot had done a lot more damage then he had thought it would in the short time it had had to rumble. It had also ended a lot sooner then he had figured as well. The cops came, which had been a first and unlike a lot of other students the amount of heat that Daniel had brought down on himself from starting the riot had kept him from getting away. Fortunately the cops hadn't charged him for inciting a riot which would have landed him in lock up for the rest of his miserable life. And since he had not been charged he had been cut loose. Since the riot it had appeared that the SLF had dropped off of the radar. Interesting and convenient as Daniel figured that he would be more of a target for some sort of retaliation, or to be made an example of. Though he did figure that there would be some sort of consequences for his actions at some point. That however faded from his mind for the moment as he took in the day. Daniel wore a pair of old blue jeans with a shirt was a grey t shirt that read "Whiskey Militia" with the logo plastered at his chest level. His hair was a medium length black that was just barely long enough in front to wave with the slight breeze that came out of the school. His eyes were a deep blue that seemed to flow with the natural climate of this place, the natural hope. The only other marks of significance were the few scars on his left forearm and the one scar that ran down from his right eyebrow down past his nose. Daniel was a bit bored but hey, bored was a good thing. He wasn't in any life or death struggles at the moment so that had to be a plus. The only thing that he had to worry about was finishing his bottle of whiskey which he held in hand. It had been awhile since he had been in a good fight though. That was both a good and a bad thing he figured. Well maybe not a bad thing seeing as a fight wasn't intrinsically bad in of itself. It was just a past time of his that he had not indulged in in quite awhile. Little did he knew that was about to change... OOC: shameless rip? yes but it was my work and I'm just as uninspired as you

"Ya realize how bad drinking is for you? When your not me, anyways."
Quite calmly sitting up from hanging upside from the roof by his legs was, you guessed it, our resident glowing boy. He had heard the person walk in, and as he was sitting up he saw the bottle. Now, Orion drank a lot of alcoholic beverages, despite being oh so many years underage. The difference being that he could probably drink 10 fucking barrels of alcohol and not feel a thing.
That's experimental chemicals for you.
Putting himself into a full standing position, Orion studied the person before recognition came.
"You... your the one who started that damn riot, aren't you? Daaaamn... While I was expecting some violent disapproval, I wasn't expecting a full out riot. You realized how long it took us to bring everything to order after the police left? That was a huge waste of time..."

"Ya realize how bad drinking is for you? When your not me, anyways."
Daniel had heard that voice before, back at 552. It was that Orion kid. To be honest he wasn't a big fan of him. The kid was naive and seemingly self important. That last part may have been a stretch but the kid did see it as his duty to punish "wrongdoers" with no regard for the present circumstance. It was exactly that mentality that drove Daniel to have a mild dislike for the kid. It also hadn't helped that Orion seemed to have a natural inclination that was a pet peeve of Daniel's, he interrupted the duels of others. Particularly his. Sure, protecting life was valuable but there was a sort of honor in duels that was meant to be kept one on one. Duels were an exemplification of ultimate virtue. Virtues that had to be protected, at all costs. In a true duel both fighters forfeited their right to life to defend what they stood for. They didn't have to end in death but the two involved understood that it was a very real possibility and respected the other enough to allow the other to fight on without restraint.
The warrior's code. It was something that Orion seemed to have a lack of respect for and that was one of the biggest reasons why Daniel disliked the kid. Even if there wasn't a set of universal morals there was the code, and the code was to be respected by all true warriors, good or evil. But anyways that was beside the point. That was Patrick O'Connor's reason for not being too fond of the kid, not Daniel Heart's. Hell Daniel didn't even know the kid. So Daniel sighed at his entrance replying in an accent that was the norm for the area, and not irish so the kid wouldn't recognize him, "Depends, most beers are super low in alcohol content, takes a long time for you to get anything out of 'em."
"You... your the one who started that damn riot, aren't you? Daaaamn... While I was expecting some violent disapproval, I wasn't expecting a full out riot. You realized how long it took us to bring everything to order after the police left? That was a huge waste of time..."
"Yes, yes I was light bright," Daniel said with a chuckle and a grin, looking at the glowing kid for the first time thinking that in reality a glowing boy really was absurd. But then Daniel went to being somewhat serious, "But seriously, your disapproval of the "waste of time" don't bother me none. It's not my priority, nor should you guys believe that your time is so valuable. Did you guys think it would be that simple to just win over and topple a system that has been in place for years? And do you really think that you're method of going about it was the best? And possibly most importantly did you ever consider that the system as it is is what we as students want? Or even need?"
Daniel took another sip of whiskey and grinned at the kid. It was a good day and Daniel didn't really want to ruin it. Likely though that was beyond his control, as usual...

Orion calmly ignored the insult. He had gotten enough. He plopped to the ground in a cross-legged position as he thought about it.
"Let's see... let's start with the first one. No, we didn't think it would be that simple. We did not, however, expect a full-blown riot from every god-damn student in the school. Secondly, I do not believe there is a best method to anything, but that was the best method presented and available to us. And as for the system... I can't speak for the others. As for myself, however, I sincerely doubt that some of the more powerful students even care.
For those in between the weakest and strongest, I would think that they wouldn't want a change. It's a way for them to grow stronger, I would suppose. I, myself, don't see it that way, but there you go. As for the weakest... I think they would welcome a change, as it would make them at the very least feel safer.
As for if they need it.... Well, the world's going to hell. What we do here, fighting and not caring about what happens outside, not caring about our future, isn't helping. I think that if for any who don't need it, which should be a slim a few unless they all plan on joining the military, that they should think the world does need it."
