(OOC: Gonna go with this thread taking place before Tremors of Night......Only cause I have NO clue what was going on in that one. Lol )
So it was day one in a new school....Not exactly the type of school that she was used to, but like all things in her life....Mia was determined to make the best of it. From what she had seen so far, and heard by way of the local gossip mill.....this place had its fair share of strange people and violence.
Strange she could deal with......She did come from New York after all and strange seemed to be a way of life there. The violence....well that was something she would have to learn to adapt to.
Pushing past a group of students who seemed to be congregating in the middle of the hallway, Mia tried to keep a watchful eye out for the door that marked the main office. She had to get her schedule and figure out where exactly she needed to be. It was going to be a long day......first days of school always were. There was the getting lost, the meeting new people and figuring out which ones just weren't gonna like you because of the simple fact you were new.
Pushing back her long brown locks from her face, she bit her bottom lip slightly before letting out a frustrated sigh. This place was like a damn maze...hallway after hallway with no end in sight. If ever she looked like the new kid who was lost and out of place.......it was now.
"Umm....excuse me..."
A feeble attempt at asking directions from a student who instead of stopping just pushed past her with an annoyed look.
"Yeah, well screw you to.......asshole...."
Mumbled, of course, under her breath. Cause ya know a fight on the first day would be JUST how to start off her new life here. Heh.

Eight o clock in the morning, not even. Eight o clock in the morning and Patrick O'Connor, or Daniel Heart as he was known around here was already well on his way to being drunk. You wouldn't be able to tell by looks but you could smell it. At the very least from the night before's escapade, who the hell knows really. The point was that the big day was coming up and the mick was having a lot of conversations with his ghosts lately. Sometimes the best way to shut them up was to get so drunk you couldn't see. He didn't know, so he took a draw of his irish whiskey to put down two pills of Vicodin.
He wandered through the halls of 259 thinking of going to class. Would the teacher find out? Yeah, probably. Would it matter? No. If the teacher cared they might hit him. Daniel wasn't so sure how he'd react. Maybe he'd take it, may be he wouldn't. Start a fight. Probably not a good idea for a last chance student but he was feeling on edge. Or quite possibly the teacher wouldn't care and go about their merry business. Who cared really? Patrick might not even go to class. All he cared about now was the fact that in these halls he was walking past the ghost of his past. In the past few days they were all coming back. His lover, parents, all the dead friends, the people he killed, the people he failed to save, everyone. That was really all his mind was on. He was looking for something to do, anything really.
A girl was shoved into him bringing him back to reality and slightly to anger.
"Yeah, well screw you to.......asshole...."
"What did you say to me?"
The kid that shoved her decided to get rough apparently. Something told him that the girl was new here. Sure he hadn't seen her before but he hadn't seen a lot of people. Maybe somehow he had heard the previous portion of the conversation, where she seemed lost. Whatever. Patrick stepped in front of her taking this opportunity to get into the action. In a gruff irish accent, forgetting that Daniel didn't have the accent he spoke up, "Look I'm sure no one here wants the trouble. Or at the very least ye don't want to get hurt. So why don't ye apologize to the girl or be on yer way? Or maybe just leave whatever sui-"
The guy tried to punch Patrick mid sentence. How rude. Did no one have any decency anymore? You at least waited for the person to finish. Anyway Patrick sidestepped the punch, with one step forward as to plant his forehead into the guy's nose, breaking it and sending the dude to the ground. Patrick sighed, that almost wasn't even fun.
After that he turned to the girl looking at her for the first time. She would have seen his black hair, with the black tanktop, fingerless gloves and the khaki cargo shorts. Now though, she would see his blue eyes, that were only blue from the contacts but that was another story, but most importantly she would see his scar, the one that ran down from his right eyebrow down past his nose. The one that everyone had always known him for, Daniel or Patrick. Of course she would have seen the tips of the scars on his shoulders that were part of a more intricate design on his back but no one noticed those. Anyways facing her now he would ask, dropping the irish accent out of habit of first introductions and a hazy mind, "You okay? Were you looking for someplace? Or did I hear you wrong?"
OOC: sorry for the lateness and the time paradoxing? lol

Leave it to Mia to start trouble. Not that she had intentionally been looking to do so, but apparently the asshole who had pushed past her had issues with being called an asshole so early in the morning. Go figure.
But next thing she knew some other guy was stepping in and pretty much solving the issue for her. In the back of her mind some Scarlet O'Hera thing popped in her mind 'Oh my hero!' complete with the mock southern accent.
It was enough to make her smile and fight back a little laugh. Oh the things we do to entertain ourselves.
But when all was said and done and the guy who had stepped in front of her turned around toward her, she wiped the smile off her face. Last thing she needed was for him to think she was laughing at what he had just done....which was sooo not the case.
Clearing her throat she gave a sheepish little grin at his question and nodded.
"Yeah...I was uh....looking for the main office actually. This place is kinda like a maze......I feel like I should be looking for the cheese or something."]
You know...rat in a maze thing......It made sense to her.
Dont judge!
Reaching up, she pushed her hair back off her face and then looked upward once more toward his face....It was like she was forgetting something......
Oh yeah!
"Thanks by the way....I probably would have gotten my ass handed to me over that one.....I'm Mia by the way...."
Her hand extending outward. Friendly gesture and all that good jazz.
