Basic Information
Name: Vincent Also Known As: Commander, Vin Birthday: July 6th, 1991 (unknown) Known Family: Vespyr Height: 5 feet 11.5 in Weight: ~147 lbs. Blood Type: ? Gender: male Sexuality: homosexual Eye Color: violet Hair: white
Defining Marks
Short, silver-blonde hair. Stern, dark violet eyes. Pale skin. Tall and muscular, but very slender build. Used to wear a black suit or other black ‘business casual’ attire, now wears a customized SS uniform or simply a tattered black tank top and ripped black jeans.
Hobbies/Talents/Skills
Weapon Collecting: Vincent takes interest in weapons of all sorts, but his favorite are firearms. It was a great disappointment when all the guns stopped working.
Homicidal Tendencies: Vince has a talent for taking lives; his methods are typically quick, clean, and efficient. While he doesn’t usually kill for pleasure, he doesn’t hesitate to dispatch anyone who gets in his way or pisses him off.
Puzzles: He enjoys Sudoku, cross-word puzzles, and the like—anything pertaining to patterns or mathematics gets his brain ticking. A critical thinker who likes to analyze things.
Reading: Vincent delved into his sister's extensive library right off the bat and enjoys reading medical texts as well as psychology.
Exercise: Vincent isn’t too concerned about being extremely buff, but he keeps himself in shape by routines of running and kick-boxing. Though his body appears lean and lithe, there is a well-toned, concentrated power in his muscles.
Personality
Having been mistreated and abandoned as a child, Vincent developed a deep mistrust of human beings. He was always a quiet child; either afraid to speak or comfortably silent in his twin sister’s arms. After being separated from her, he withdrew even further into himself and did not speak to anyone for several years. He rather passively allowed himself to be taken to an orphanage, where he lived as an outcast until the age of 13 when something in him snapped—
Hatred had been brewing in him for years, when finally it burst into life with a fierceness that transformed young Vincent into a cold-blooded killer. He hated his parents for their cruel deeds. He loathed the crowds of people who had walked carelessly by as he screamed for help when he was kidnapped at the train station. He resented the children at the orphanage who had made his life a living hell for years, and he hated the staff that sat idly by and let him be tormented to the point of near-suicide. He had tried to end his pitiful life, but failed, and his livelihood sprang back with a vengeance—it wasn’t his life that should end from the suffering; it was his oppressors who deserved to die.
Vincent had never been afraid of death as a child; he had experienced something close to it, become acquainted with it, and become comfortable dealing it where he felt it was justified. He killed mercilessly, without hesitation, but without passion or joy. In fact, none of Vincent’s actions seem to reflect as much; his usual demeanor is stern, stoic, unfeeling, and cold. He has expert control over his emotions and shows little—a small sigh of impatience or an irritated glare may be used to ward off unwanted attention, but a single shot from a pistol gets the point across just as well.
99% of the time, Vincent is rational, logical, calm, organized, and alert. The other 1% consists of completely irrational and turbulent rage. But everyone has their moments…
Likes: cigarettes, guns, puzzles, the smell of wet pavement, solitude, the way sunlight looks on a clear morning, black russian (drink), irish cream, noodles, rice, being organized, cleanliness, men, a good suit, cats, reading by the fire
Dislikes: people, dogs, bad hygeine, bad manners, loud talkers, excessive talking, men who speak with in a "gay" voice, people talking in general, humidity, beer, mexican food, making promises, breaking promises, when you have to shoot twice, bloodstains
Mentality/Ideal/Belief: Atheist
“Everyone has their moments…”
Fighting
Style: Simple kick-boxing technique
Years Practiced: 5
Description of style | Vincent knows basic punching and kicking technique. He tends to avoid hand-to-hand combat because he hates the feeling of losing control… and it gets blood on his clothes. When caught in a fight, though, he exerts as little energy as possible while using as much strength as he can. He makes quick and small (but powerful) movements and isn’t afraid to cause serious damage to his opponent. There is no such thing as a ‘fair fight’ to Vince.
When he can, he uses weaponry of all sorts; whatever he can get his hands on, he will use… as long as it’s not too messy. But if the situation is urgent enough, he’ll make do with what’s available—even if it means splitting open someone’s skull with a crowbar.
Overall Strengths | High pain tolerance, low body mass (for quicker movement), skill with weapons.
Overall Weaknesses | Not well-trained in combat skills and relies mainly on instinct, becomes completely irrational and reckless if temper is lost.

History
December 7th, 1999
[/i] | The door slams again as both children give each other nervous glances across the expanse of the backseat. A woman, tall and pale and smoking a cigarette, turns the key out of the ignition and steps out of the parked car, taking the boy child roughly in her arms and motioning for the other, a girl, to follow as she turns and walks away. The girl scrambles after her, mimicking her mother's footsteps as she tries to keep up. The woman stops at a kiosk, rummages through her purse and wallet, and slides some money beneath the plastic window and receives three slips from the attendant. The children follow her onto the train, their eyes wide and lost amongst the countless unfriendly faces. A loud whistle sounds. The siblings clamber up onto an empty seat and press their faces to the window as it begins to rain again. The young boy catches one last glimpse of their mother standing alone on the platform before she is lost forever in the fog. December 8th | The boy has been watching his sister as she dozes off; her head tilts limply toward the window and then rolls forward, and she is asleep. He is afraid, and he wants to sit by her, but does not want to wake her. He knows she did not sleep last night—the bruise on her temple speaks for itself. Instead, he reaches out a small hand and lays it on top of hers, gently. And then he feels a hand on his shoulder. The boy turns around with fright, instinctively blocking his face with his forearms. He sees a smiling man looking down at him, and does not know what to feel; no man has ever smiled at him before. But this man is not his father, and does not seem to be angry… “Relax, son,” the man chuckles. His voice is warm and inviting. The boy’s wide eyes nervously scan the face—it is a face untouched by malice and unwrinkled by rage or hate. “Don’t you trust me? I’m the captain of this train… You should trust me, son.”The boy trusts him. “Come with me, son…”December 15th | He had quickly learned his lesson. The man’s kind face had been but a mask—as soon as the mask was off, the boy had realized his grave mistake. He felt it on his lips for days; pain, fear, and confusion. He had to get away. At the first chance he saw, he slipped out of the man’s grasp and ran for his life. Days later, he was found wandering down a street in Salinas, wringing his hands and touching his swollen lips gingerly. His face was bruised and his body was covered in dirt, black beneath his fingernails, his hair sticky, and his eyes wide and vacant. They took him to the hospital at first, but seeing no real damage, and having no idea where he had come from, turned him over to a local orphanage. He wouldn’t speak to anyone for seven years. March 10th, 2006 | The boy is lying in a puddle of his own blood on the bathroom floor. Scenes of this last day of his life replay in his head as his vision fades. “…Nobody wants him. All he does is sit in the corner and cry and waste air! We should just throw him in the incinerator.”
“Then we wouldn’t have to see his stupid face anymore!”
“Good riddance!”He was in the corner, as usual. Surrounded, as usual. Between the legs of the other boys and through his tears he could see one of the orphanage staff members leaning impatiently in the doorway, smoking a cigarette. Someone kicked him in the ribs. "Guys, leave Vincent* alone," the young woman sighed indifferently, and then left the room. They did just the opposite. He had managed to crawl to the bathroom after the beating subsided. Locking himself in, he took a screwdriver from his pocket and began to unscrew an arbitrary part of the stall. The attained screw was long and sharp, and it cut through the flesh of his wrists with comforting ease. March 11th | Vincent awakes to the smell of wet pavement. He opens his eyes, vaguely disappointed—he was hoping that there wasn’t an afterlife. He’d been counting on it. But apparently… The sound of a car roaring past jolts him further into consciousness. He sits up, looks around, then looks down at himself; the wounds on his wrists have healed over, but his clothes are stained with dried blood. He checks his surroundings again, slowly coming to the realization that he’s still alive, somehow. He doesn’t remember how he got here. March 12th | The boy comes across an article in the newspaper that catches his interest: A mixture of fierce rage and satisfaction flare up within him, and already he is beginning to piece together the mysterious details surrounding his disappearance. Promptly, he leaves Salinas and travels north, stopping in every town along the foresaken train tracks. At age thirteen, the boy has redefined himself and locked his heart on a new set of goals: He will find his sister. He will make a better life for the both of them. And he will punish anyone who gets in the way. * - Vincent was the single name given to him at the orphanage. His real name and age are unknown.[/blockquote] [/size]

Qi
Qi Name | Blood Type X/ Resurrection
Qi Description | This defensive ability allows Vincent to, stated simply, come back to life if he has been mortally wounded. However, it is much more complicated than it sounds;
Upon receiving fatal injuries, Vincent will begin to die. As his body shuts down and brain activity becomes near null, the qi is activated due to a stored electrical current (Qi) that discharges from his dying brain, causing his damaged and dying cells to immediately begin a process of rapid regeneration. (Complete healing could vary from 24 hours to a week, depending on the severity and type of injury.) Also during this time, Vincent is completely conscious, but in a primitive, zombie-like state (INT and WIS are extremely low, but CON is extremely high to allow his body time to heal while avoiding further injury) Note: this ability can only be used upon death. With any other injuries or ailments, Vincent’s body must follow the normal healing process.
A Rather Long-Winded Scientific Analysis:
Stage 1: Death (electrical impulse arrest) and Regeneration (12-168 hours depending on severity of injury)a. Resurrection Hormone released into bloodstream
i. Hormone attaches itself to red blood cells alongside oxygen molecules
1. Mutant hemoglobin allows this to happen (also causes the red blood cells to appear black in colour)
[/i][/blockquote] ii. Hormone enters body cells, triggers the Resurrection gene in DNA iii. Activated gene causes cells to enter a hyperactive mode in which they rapidly repair themselves 1. Begins on a cellular level, expands to reconstruction of tissues and entire organs, bone, and muscular structures [/i][/blockquote] [/blockquote] b. All energy devoted to regeneration and production of R-hormone i. Only cerebral functions active are those necessary to keep the body running and keep producing R-hormone (there is no speech, memory, recognition, etc.) ii. Stomach digestion stops iii. Breathing becomes rapid in order to deliver oxygen-hormone molecules to cells more quickly
[/blockquote] Stage 2: Recuperation (1-2 hours depending on availability of new blood)a. Bloodlust
i. Brain produces a new hormone triggering thirst for blood ii. Once ingested, blood passes through the stomach (mostly) undigested iii. New red blood cells are absorbed into the bloodstream through the intestines iv. Lacking the ‘mutant hemoglobin’, these fresh blood cells can only carry oxygen
1. Breathing becomes less rapid as the hormone to oxygen ratio in the blood tips back to normal [/i][/blockquote][/blockquote] b. Final healing i. As the regeneration process begins to slow, the free energy becomes available for the lost cerebral and bodily functions; becoming ‘human’ again [/blockquote][/blockquote] Stage 3: Extended Restoration (1-3 weeks)a. Brain resupplies itself with R-hormone b. The foreign blood cells will eventually die and be replaced by the body
i. The new cells, having been produced by the body itself, will contain the mutant hemoglobin [/spoiler] However, this ability does not make Vincent invincible. Though the process is based on cell regeneration, his body cannot replace missing parts such as entire fingers, limbs, or a head. Bullets or shrapnel embedded in his body do not resurface as cell regeneration occurs; they stay in his body while the wound closes up and body tissues and blood vessels reform around the foreign object. He could survive being shot in a critical area such as the heart or lung, etc. as long as the bullet is quickly removed. With blood-clotting agents and other such poisons in his system, Vincent's chances of survival would be slim, since the qi takes its physical form not only as electrical currents, but as chemicals that must travel through his bloodstream. Aging occurs at an unnaturally slow rate due to the body's constant revitalization of its cells. Qi Strengths | Vincent can cheat death (but with exceptions, as explained above) and give his opponent a run for their money in a fight. Since, while under the qi’s effect, he cannot lose consciousness, Vincent is able to keep fighting until his STR has gone a certain increment* below the initial (pre-qi activation) level. Qi Weaknesses | Vincent loses all mental capacity for reasoning and holding inhibitions; he is stuck in a very animalistic state until he is completely healed, which takes a good amount of time. Also, the qi can only be activated once Vincent is dead. Vincent's EcheladderDeathcheater | Blood is an unnaturally dark shade of crimson. Hair and skin are very pale.
Upon death: +6 CON, +5 STR, INT=15, WIS=15; -5% STR and DEX** each post after 4 posts.Beginner Stat Requirements: Default. Qi initiates after the first death.
Blackblood Rogue | Blood is now black. Hair begins to lose pigment, becoming silvery white. Skin is unnaturally pale. Teeth grow slightly sharper and fingernails become longer, somewhat clawlike.
Upon death: +10 CON, +5 STR, INT=15, WIS=15; -5% STR and DEX** each post after 4 posts.Novice Stat Requirements: 30 STR, 30 DEX, 30 CON
Neophyte Incubus | Hair is now completely white. Skin continues to lose pigment and is deathly pale. Teeth are unnaturally sharp and claws grow longer and stronger. The pupil in its normal state is slightly enlarged, the colour of the iris becoming less apparent.
Upon death: +15 CON, +10 STR, INT=15, WIS=15; -10% STR and DEX** each post after 3 posts.Pro Stat Requirements: 40 STR, 40 DEX, 40 CON
Cadaverous Archfiend | Skin is nearly white. Most teeth now resemble small fangs, the canines and incisors being the most prominent. Claws continue to grow and pupils of the eye have now expanded so far that the colour of the iris is barely visible.
Upon death: +20 CON, +20 STR, INT=30, WIS=30; -10% STR and DEX** each post after 2 posts.Advanced Stat Requirements: 60 STR, 60 DEX, 60 CON
Death Incarnate | White hair and white flesh. Sharp fangs, long tongue, and long claws. Black blood and black eyes.
Upon death: +20 CON, +20 STR, x0.5 INT, x0.5 WIS; -10% STR and DEX*** each post after 2 posts.Master Stat Requirements: 80 STR, 80 DEX, 80 CON
*= specifically, this increment is equal to the amount of boost provided by the qi. Example: Beginner Level, initial STR : 30 + 5 (qi boost) = 35 --after 4 posts-- -5% = 33 5th post = 31 6th post =29 7th post =27 8th post =25 9th and final post.
**= % of initial qi-affected stat. This percentage decrease will be constant. Example:Beginner Level, initial STR : 30 + 5 (qi boost) = 35 --after 4 posts-- -5% of 35 = 33 5th post -5% of 35 = 31 6th post -5% of 35 =29 7th post, etc.
***= % of current stat. This percentage decrease will lessen slightly as the stat lowers. Example:Master Level, initial STR : 80 + 20 (qi boost) = 100 --after 2 posts-- -10% of 100 = 90 3rd post -10% of 90 = 81 4th post -10% of 81 =73 5th post -10% of 73 =66 6th post -10% of 66 =59 7th and final post.
