MONDAY! oh wait fuck, its monday... mixed feelings abound inside of Samantha's head as she walked past the gate that was the perimiter of the school. she wasn't new to the public school system by any means, she knew of the violence the inconsolable egotistical assholes striving for some sort of "power" in a high school, ready to lead the kids to whatever their bidding was without any thought of a greater good, or in other words: a bunch of spoiled brats. still every new oppurtinity should be treated like one, there was a good chance that things may be differe- *thud* Samantha's thoughts where interrupted by a freshman laying at her feet now, inches from unconciousness. he looked up at her, he had a nice face but it was bruised to the point where even his mother wouldn't want to look at him. she examined him whole for a moment before turning her eyes to the assailant, a burly looking junior, long black hair that had been slicked back and a goatee. her emerald eyes focused into his brown ones for a moment. she was about to look away back to the boy on the ground but the junior called her attention. "you like my handy work huh?" he said, followed by a soft chuckle, he really thought something of himself. Samantha on the other hand was distracted, watching other students taking in everything that was new, she turned her attention back to the booy in front of her. a little taller than she was, dressed rather darkly and in absolutely no way would he be counted as a small man. everything came together in a moment and she spoke. "I suppose... I mean, he is half your size" she said with a hint of mischevious challenge, acting as if she was utterly unimpressed with the man's feat. the junior looked at her scrupulously. "What, do you want me to-" he began a threat but was cut off by samantha's sharp voice "Him" she said pointing at a random kid who looked rather tough. the junior looked perplexed for a moment, clearly not the sharp knife samantha decided to lay it out for him. "if you beat him, that would be impressive, he looks like a good match for you" she said semi-sweetly, like she believed in him that he could go do it. he looked excited by the challenge, by the thought of getting a girls attention by using his muscles he had been honing for so long, today was this kids lucky day. a beautiful day it was, and as the boy walked off to go needlessly fight that bigger boy Samantha returned to her own occupations. Learning the layout of a school so large was no simple task, though it had a way of coming together very well that seemed like it would stick with her, remembering advantageous spots, places where any number of things could commence. the unlimited possibility sent a warm wave of content through samantha, she was now officially excited for the rest of her day.

[teal] [/i][/beige][/center] - Takehiro directed his words to the girl, now, hands back in his pockets. He was going to delegate authority. That was his job.[/ul][/teal]

Samantha, looking around the school trying to understand its layout was not much paying attention to the "fight" behind her. however as luck would have it she turned around just in time to see a very peculiar occurence. the boy who had been trying to impress her ran right up to a teacher and attempted attack. apperantly he was misguided on where she had been pointing for she had clearly pointed at a kid, still the results where equal parts sad and hillarious, she wasn't sure which better to respond with so her mouth simply went agape for a moment and her eyes widened, then went back to her usual cheery smile. the teacher on the other hand, well dressed and cool mannered walked up to her, seeming to be quite upset.
"What was that all about? And what happened here?"
Samantha paused for a moment, authority, this was a blessing, and a curiosity indeed. best to proceed with caution. "That boy beat up that boy" she said, indicating with her fingers the respective boy. her eyes then met with the teachers "he approached me and started picking up on me... he creeped me out and I panicked so I told him I'd be impressed if he beat up that boy over there" she indicated to a larger boy who was now turning a corner out of sight "he must have thought I was pointing at you, my apologies, I was intending to run off while he was busy" she said, looking honestly very upset about the whole thing, and really she was, she didn't want to get in trouble

[teal] [/i][/beige][/center] - He wasn't going to take no for an answer. He was one of the few bases of authority here. So he'd begin moving while keeping her in his sights. But where were they going? Simply to drop the students off to the nurse, who luckily hadn't been too far away. [beige]"Why is it you didn't just walk away? You put another student at risk."[/beige] [/ul][/teal]

the man took up the two boys, "Come with me" he said, a demand, not a request. Samantha followed, she had an uneasy feeling in her stomache, but she also had a feeling of trust of this man, he hid his anger at her well, he didn't attack first and ask questions later as many other teachers of the public high school system would do, he was... well he was who she would want to be teaching if she was in charge of the school. she began following compliantly. she followed him to the nurses office, and handed over the two boys, then asking "why didn't you just walk away? you put another student at risk" this was very true, but it was trivial, the public school system was flawed, if the boy wasn't going to get beat up one day he would be beat up another. still this was the cynics point of view and she certainly wasn't doing anything to help, still, she also didn't want to be in trouble, and that worry was much more in the moment, she could wrestle morality later.
"Fear" she said softly I've been a member of this public school system for a long time now, I know behind almost every smile there is a violent history of one sort or another. I watched that boy clean the clock of another boy, whose to say i wasn't next if I denied his advances, or if i 'walked away'. I don't turn my back on people, its not good policy" she explained, she didn't trust easily that was for certain. "you know that, you didn't try to talk to the boy, or calm him down, you did the most logical thing and eliminated the threat, though I believe you to be strong enough to have done it in a more peaceful way if you desired" she added with a look that said 'let's be serious with each other, shall we?' there was something about this situation that begged straightforwardness and honesty, this was her first chance to talk to an authority figure about what was on her mind, most of the ones she had met up to this point where just as corrupt as the rest of the system, and enjoyed it. she was looking to see if there was a spark of something else in this one.

[teal] [/i][/beige][/center] - His story was being made up on the spot, but he was doing so to teach a lesson. He had caught a glimpse of the boy, however, and stories were among Takehiro's fortes. [beige] "While he is big, he's not a fighter."[/beige] He would take in a rather deep, slow breath before exhaling even more slowly. He was silent for a moment, but it was clear he did not want her reply just yet. [beige]"I can understand, however, your troubles in such a situation and therefore I cannot say I will punish you unjustly. Although.."[/beige] - He'd tap his chin for a moment. Punishment would be unfavorable given the circumstances. He did, however, have to discipline as needed. [beige] "Nurse? Can you write those boys detention slips, please? Under my supervision for the next week. And you."[/beige] He'd point to the girl. [beige] "You will be given detention as well, and will be serving it for the next three days. Understood?"[/beige][/teal][/ul]

the teacher took a seat in the nurses office, it wasn't too crowded considering the circumstances and time of day, samantha took a seat across from the teacher as he began to explain about the large man she had pinned her assailant against, it was a selfish move, absolutely so, and it was wrong of her to put that onto someone, especially someone who was so spotless. of course, she had a feeling that boy wasn't SO spotless, but still if he did well in school and paid attention during class he was still better than half the other students here. at the end of the teacher's story Samantha finally accepted defeat, gracefully as possible. there was a pause but his eyes told her not to talk though she wanted to badly, she always had something smart to say back, but she also knew it was more intelligent to pick your battles, and this was a battle that could not be won.
""I can understand, however, your troubles in such a situation and therefore I cannot say I will punish you unjustly. Although.."
the man had an admirable thinking face as he tapped his chin before deciding on detention. Samantha took in a deep breath through her nose, holding it for a moment before releasing it all out of her mouth, an effort to truly calm herself down.
she also paused for a moment, her emerald eyes locked to his blue ones. "Sir..." she began, and stopped, now apprehensive on whether it was a good idea to continue, her thoughts could provoke something, but it couldn't get much worse. she already had a three day detention. "I have been thinking. I obviously accept my punishment, and I understand the lesson, but I must ask, what would you have me do next time?" she looked at him with a slight desperation "honestly sir, I've been looking for a bigger answer, a better way to handle things, and I have yet to find one! the system is beyond flawed and hardly holds control, even amongst teachers. you are by far the most even headed teacher I have met, other teachers will fight with students just as merrily as the other students, and there are students who can't even be stopped by teachers." she realized she was rambling and stopped, as if this was going to help, she hadn't even stated a point. she would simply let him answer her rambling however he saw fit, accept her punishment, and then hope to god thatsomeone didn't kick the crap out of her before school was over. "sorry, I didn't mean to ramble, I just wish there was a way to stop the violence... for good"

[teal] [/i][/beige][/center] - He would stand to his feet and exit the nurse's office, though he would wait for the girl before he'd continue, walking down the hall at a relatively slow speed. The bell would ring for class, and students would begin to scramble into their first period. At least, all the students in this hall. [beige]"I stated it as detention, but you should think of it more as protection. That isn't the best word of choice, but it seems to fit just a little. You know what, I'm rushing this. How about an introduction before I let you know everything I'm planning? I'm Amakusa Takehiro, or Mr. A. Feel free to call me what you wish."[/beige] - Any feeling of hostility that may have been there would vanish. The teacher would smile.[/teal][/ul]

she looked on as he considered her, his answer was listened to word for word, and his response seemed... unhelpful to her current situation, however there was a subtext, something samantha could feel but could not grasp, could hear, but could not discern. the detention was to not be thought of specifically as punishment. this was a new piece of information, it furthered that... feeling, whatever it may be.
"could you come with me a moment?" this time it was a question, not an order. Samantha of course complied, standing and following him as he left. her curiosity alone was enough to keep her closeby, she had a feeling he knew that, but even so she enjoyed playing along, seeing where the rabbit hole would take her. not to mention this was possibly the most productive she had ever felt about the violence of the public school system, having just one teacher who knew, who could see a bigger picture, it was quite a relief.
the bell rang. children ran in every direction trying to get to class, pushing shoving, she could see the weak, defenseless, the strong, merciless, and everyone in between. it was a nice illustration of an underlying problem. Samantha assumed being with a teacher she could get a late slip to her first class or something of that nature, or this teacher would tell her she needed to get to class, either way it wasn't a concern to her.
"I stated it as detention, but you should think of it more as protection. That isn't the best word of choice, but it seems to fit just a little. You know what, I'm rushing this. How about an introduction before I let you know everything I'm planning? I'm Amakusa Takehiro, or Mr. A. Feel free to call me what you wish." he smiled at her, the demeanor had changed, he knew his lesson had been imbued, now he was showing who he really was. calling it protection did irk samantha a little, but after what had happened she wasn't going to complain, a little protection might be exactly what she needed. she smiled back, her emerald hues beaming as she said "Well Mr. A. its nice to formally meet you, I'm Samantha Giacomarra, just don't call me sam and I think we'll be alright". she said with a small chuckle adding "oh... and sorry for making some kid attack your A student, my bad" sticking her tounge out playfully.
then she realized something... planning? planning... well, she'd let that slide for now, something told her it would come up in its own time soon

[/i][/beige][/center] [teal] - He'd stop at an office, opening the door with his key and holding it for the girl to enter before he'd let it shut. This was his free period anyway, and he could always call in a substitute really late. He would motion for her to take a seat in front of his desk - in a really comfortable chair, mind you - before he would seat himself, placing both elbows on the desk and looping his fingers through one another. He looked quite like a businessman. [beige]"It goes without saying, Ms. Giacomarra, that you are one of the few students at this school who has a logical stance on things. You are, however, more new to our environment, and have likely yet to realize the capacity of strength several students on our grounds hold. They are capable of things I have only seen back in my days in New York."[/beige] - #552.. He wasn't about to get back into that. The simple thought of the effect Valor had had on him as a person made him angry. He felt that they drained him of his humanity and turned him into the giant shell he was today. However, despite his lack of honest feeling, he believed that he could still play out the role he was meant to. [beige] "My personal goal would be to utilize certain students' capabilities into taming the masses. While a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflicts was my initial desired goal, I have realized that some degree of violence is necessary in order to prevent harm to those I have entrusted with the safety of the student body and our community as a whole. These students all have a degree of understanding for our current situation, and moreso that one would initially believe. You are, without a doubt, one of the few students I believe could help do this school better. Unfortunately, and I intend no offense to you, you lack the physical capabilities to take on what this school can dish out. And so, in exchange for your assistance in calming the students, I will ensure you are never done harm." [/beige][/teal][/ul][/center]

Samantha followed, the calm of a previously so chaotic hallway was an interesting touchstone. she felt the moment was right, something was begining to flower, calm after chaos, the rising of the tides, the everchanging tao of life, this new chapter was still just begining to unfold
"Ms. Giacomarra, I would like to apologize for the brashness I'd delivered at the beginning of our encounter. I'd felt it necessary at the time, though now I realize 'tis not the case. Of course, your own apology is unnecessary, but will be gratefully accepted."
interesting how the tone had changed, Mr. Amakusa's speech was formal, it suited him, and it suited her. her own dialect, a known free fall between formal and not giving a fuck, a hallmark of the suburban generation taught by their middle class parents how to be polite to adults. Samantha had always preffered this though, politeness was a cue to good company, people who could be held in trust and respect.
and he even held the door open, now thats just thoughtful.
Samantha sat down in the plush seat, now more at ease, she crossed her legs, and her fingers laced lightly as she watched Mr. Amakusa sit down.
"It goes without saying, Ms. Giacomarra, that you are one of the few students at this school who has a logical stance on things. You are, however, more new to our environment, and have likely yet to realize the capacity of strength several students on our grounds hold. They are capable of things I have only seen back in my days in New York."
New York. he made it sound like such a charming place
"My personal goal would be to utilize certain students' capabilities into taming the masses. While a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflicts was my initial desired goal, I have realized that some degree of violence is necessary in order to prevent harm to those I have entrusted with the safety of the student body and our community as a whole. Unfortunately, and I intend no offense to you, you lack the physical capabilities to take on what this school can dish out. And so, in exchange for your assistance in calming the students, I will ensure you are never done harm."
Samantha listened, nodded, considered and sat on that paragraph for a moment.
this must be what he meant by planning. the silence was comfortable, she held his gaze and finally her words poured out.
"The sun tzu says that the one who takes whole an army is superior, destroying it is inferior to this" She said softly, then let out a sigh before continuing. "it also however says that if conflict is absolutely necessary for total victory it is important to be absolutely prepared, to know yourself and your enemy, to know the layout the battle will take place on, your supplies and resources, your spies and how they all work together. i detest violence, but if there is to be peace you are correct, it is a necessity, and if there is to be conflict I will be apart of it" she stated, matter of factly, an end to conflict was a just goal to seek. "you are correct, and i take no offense; I am not of a suitable power to take on anyone who I have met at this school so far, but i do have things I can bring to the table" she continued fluidly, and though her body trembled softly it was with anticipation not nervousness.
"I am at heart, a strategist, and by nature a diplomat, you may test me in whatever way you see fit to prove my worth, those are my strengths" she stated flatly, an offer for a strategic mind and a strong public presence. she thought about adding a few words about her strengths and why they where her strengths but stopped herself. if her skill was to be proved it would be proved through action and not word "i also have one other use... I'm new to this school, no one knows me yet" she said, leaning in with a glint in her emerald eyes "and unlike your hard hitters, no one in the school knows me, or which way I am aligned..." a mischevious smile played on her lips, the game was begining, and she loved the game

[/i][/beige][/center] [teal] - Clearly the fact that she was a fresh face left many openings for what she could do. Without her allegiances being known, she could cripple many of the students' organizations from the inside. This would take work, but it could happen. There was potential here, all that was needed was trust and patience, both in themselves and each other. [beige]"If you do so choose to comply, I will place you under the surveillance of Mekiel Echigo, a boy known as the Iron Dragon. His prowess in combat is exceptional, yet he still keeps a level head and has gained a degree of respect from students around campus. With him taking care of you, many will think twice before making a move on you."[/beige] - After all, she was frail and Mekiel was a giant.[/ul][/teal]

"If you would do me the honor, I would like to utilize what skills you have. You know my goals, and I've hid nothing from you. I do not ask you to share with me any of your own personal goals at #259, all I ask is your cooperation. The student body is wild, yet even the most wild of beasts can be tamed."
The student body, in her former schools their level of corruption had varied as she had seen the rise and fall of 2 school captains. this brought up a question.
"If you do so choose to comply, I will place you under the surveillance of Mekiel Echigo, a boy known as the Iron Dragon. His prowess in combat is exceptional, yet he still keeps a level head and has gained a degree of respect from students around campus. With him taking care of you, many will think twice before making a move on you."
she considered everything she had heard. this chair was so comfortable, the atmosphere so pleasent, the aura so different from the hall outside. "I see, but the honor is mine, like I said, if there will be conflict I will be involved in its solution." she said plainly and bit her lip a moment. "you said the student body where like beasts... tamable of course, I would like numbers, how many we have. I would like to know the details of our relationship with the pillars as well. if I am to be able to do what I need to do the more information I have the better." she stated. then she thought about it. "of course, I respect that I probably need clearence for certain things, I mean I did just join and all" she said with a little chuckle. "and mekeil... will this be like a shadow bodyguard character, or will he be someone who I may simply call upon if I am in need?" she asked. "I'd hate to take a good man from being at your employ for more useful tasks then protection, and if I were to be useful as a spy then having someone with a known connection to you being around me may not be practical" she said lightheartedly "of course thats just speculation, hence why I ask" she added, the last thing she wanted to do in this situation was cross boundaries. "i would like to meet him sometime" she added with a little smile.

[teal] [/center][/beige][/i] - His hands remained folded before him. With absent Pillars as far as his knowledge permitted, he was going to see about giving Mekiel a position of power, or otherwise completely abolishing the system due to it's many flaws and corruption that befell the students in it's place. This is certainly something that should be considered by the faculty. [beige]"As for Mekiel, he will be both an open guardian and one who only acts when you call upon him. It all really depends upon the situation. Both having him around you for the majority of the time and him being around you when you call are enough to consider ties to me. Though the only way I can insure your safety in a place like this is to have my best fighter at your disposal. And mind you, while he may be assigned as your bodyguard I will have other tasks for him occasionally."[/beige] [/teal][/ul][/i]

She listened intently, bent on being honest Mr. A could not produce useful information, this would have to be something she would need to look into on her own, perhaps begin organizing and formalizing the system. she'd need a rally. but that could all wait till later.
The pillar situation was similar, no one had been appointed-wait.
did he say that he had not appointed anyone yet?
she continued to listen, Mekiel sounded like an all around threat detterent, best to use him for the first time in a most useful situation if she intended on spy work. she kept that useful nugget to herself before asking "so... are you the headmaster?". "you said something about appointing pillars, and I may be mistaken but at my last school that was the headmasters job"
