Vague (Mekiel/Open)

It was a day. You know......that thing with the sun...and the sparse clouds and the whole global warming stuff.

Yeah.......

Anyway....Mia was back at school, having just gotten back from a trip out of town with the family for her cousin's wedding. Luckily, it didn't seem that she had missed all too much in her absence. Or at least she hoped that she hadn't. Especially since she was still getting used to the place before she left.

Honestly she wasn't sure that she could handle another massive change right now. Just so much stuff going on in her life that right now all she craved was a little stability.

But that was neither here nor there...What mattered now, was that she was here, and it was time to get back into the swing of things.

Stepping out into the bright sunlight and the mid-day heat, she slid her sunglasses down off the top of her head and over her eyes, letting out a soft sigh as she pushed back her hair from her face and set out to find a spot to sit down and read over her biology lesson.

There was going to be a test next period and she wanted to make sure she was ready for it.

Brushing her tongue over her lips, she spotted a place underneath one of the large shade trees that lined the school grounds.

It didnt take her long to get there and find a spot on the cool earth beneath it. And no sooner had she done it than she heard that familiar cry of Sylar....Looking up, she easily spotted him on the branch above her head....A smile creeping onto her lips.

With a little click of her tongue, she held out her arm for him flutter down and perch upon...an affectionate stroke of her fingers to the area just under his beak given.....

"And how are you this afternoon? Hope you haven't gotten too bored without me."

A small chuckle given before she took her free hand and reached into her bag to pull out her biology book and spread it open on her lap.

Time to get cracking......even though she really didnt want to....To be quite honest.

"That. Is. Awesome!"

Eyes would widen as Mekiel watched the interaction between the pretty girl and the bird, clearly intrigued. Subconsciously he would approach, though given he didn't recognize her that much was inevitable.

"That's really something.." a grin as he parked his ass on the ground next to her. She's short

Sylar noted the approaching male before Mia did, but it didnt take long for him to bring it to her attention.

Lifting her eyes to the guy that soon enough was seated beside her, she offered up a friendly smile and a half hearted shrug.

"I have had him for......well for a long time. He is undoubtedly my best friend."

She paused there for a moment to allow Sylar to hop down from her arm and onto her knee which was propped up slightly so that she could support her book in a slightly upward position.

Now with her arm free, she moved to offer her hand up in a friendly and all to common gesture to shake hands.

"Hi....I'm Mia.. This is Sylar. And you are?"

Maybe she should have been thinking about getting back to her studies, but this was truly a much welcomed distraction.

Sure....she was all about getting the grade and passing and all that good stuff. But she wasn't so much of a book worm that she wanted to devote her every waking moment to studying.

She was a teenager after all.

But regardless. If he shook her hand, or if he didnt, either way...once done her hand would end up back on the edge of her book, holding it in place...Though her eyes, hidden behind her sunglasses would remain focused on him......For now.

"That's really cool. Wish I got myself an awesome bird." He'd grin, attention focused on the avian for a while. Though when she made the motion for that ol' fashioned greeting, he'd take her hand with a cheery smile on his face.

"The name's Mekiel Echigo. Weird name, I know. Nice to meetcha, Mia. Sylar." Big ol' grin =D

"So I've never seen you here before. Figured I would have since I've been here for.. I don't remember how long. Hehe." He was being quite cheery, like his usual self. Only to be expected though, right? "How long you been going here?"

Once the introductions were over, Mia gave up on her studies and closed the book in her lap. Leaning her head back against the tree and keeping her attention focused on the big guy beside her.

"Nice to meet you. Well I have been going here a couple weeks now...but took a short vacation to see family. Just got back today."

It was pretty much the sum of her high school career here. Not much had happened to her since arriving here and honestly she hadn't met many people. And what few she had, really couldnt be counted as friends......at least not yet.

So, to say she wasn't happy to meet somebody and have a conversation would have been a lie.

"Hasn't exactly made it easy to make friends. But hopefully that will change now that I am back......But yeah...anyways....What are you doing out here this time of day?"

"Well, just trying to make a friend of a complete stranger. Seems to be my hobby." He'd smile, lookin' over to her book. She was studying? He couldn't really help too much there. He wasn't the most intelligent guy around or anything.

"So!" He'd chirp happily. "Care to uh, tell me 'bout yourself?" Totally straightforward. He was like that. At least it got things done though, right? "You seem pretty interesting so far, so I just.. yeah. Wanted to know a bit about you." Wide grin is wide.

He seemed like a pretty okay guy so far. Granted the size of him set both her and Sylar on edge, but she knew better than to judge somebody based on just one aspect of their appearance or personality.

"Well hate to disappoint but I am not all that interesting. I am originally from New York....moved to North Carolina for awhile and then here. Live with my parents and my little brother...Like reading, old movies and music......And I am currently in between boyfriends."

She gave a soft laugh following her brief bio. That was her pretty much summed up, and honestly....that was sad. But hey...what could she do?

"What about you?"

As she re-positioned herself into a more comfortable and relaxed spot against the tree, her hand went out to softly stroke over Sylar's back.

Honestly it was something she did without even realizing that she was doing it.....At least until she got that strange sensation of somebody touching her...running their fingers down her back. Perhaps it was because of the fact that he was literally a part of her that she always felt compelled to touch him? Probably....That or it was because he was the only real friend she had.

But that was something to be contemplated another day. For now, her full attention was given to Mekiel.......He was after all giving her his full attention.

"Well, if could be more interesting than you give yourself credit for."

He'd smile and shrug, leaning back a little, hands resting in the grass behind him.

"Well.. I'm a big guy. Needless to say I like to brawl, a hell of a lot. I like the feel of getting into a fight, but it's just kind of an escape for a dude like me." A nod. "I'm from New York City, went to school there. Lost contact with my family and headed on over to San Diego for reasons I can't remember. Went to school there for a few months.. met this girl there and fell in love. And, yeah, I know, as a teenager love seems like a word you just kinda throw around to use it, but I think I know what I'm talkin' about. Speakin' of which, I gotta call her sometime.." He'd blink before returning his attention to her.

"I guess you could say I'm odd..? I dunno." Another shrug. "Got any outdoor-sy hobbies?"
