In the near future, a law was passed. That law prohibited creatures known commonly as "abnormals" from living amongst everday human beings.
The law was passed by a group of men and women, the Humanis Coalition, made from representatives from all over the world- the Illuminati types, pulling the strings from the Shadows, who feared that one day the world would be overrun by these creatures, the vampires and the werewolves. There was of course another form of creature - the witch. These creatures however were seen to have a more human side, therefore being allowed to rejoin society, kept compliant through a mixture of physical coercian and mind-altering drugs.
The same could not be said for the vampires and the werewolves, they were gathered in large quantities and taken to what they were told would be a "New Utopia", a place where they would lead safe and happy lives, amongst their own kind, with no worries or concerns about their futures.
The truth however was far from that...
In each major city around the world there was a new city built. One that was blocked off from the rest of the world, guarded by armed security personnel and run by scientists. The Utopia they had been promised was actually a prison.
The vampires managed to rebuild their lives in the safety of their own private city, opening nightclubs, shops and blood-serving restaurants. Allowed to go about their day under the protection of a synthetic night sky. But after their 10pm curfew they are in more danger than they can ever comprehend, any creature found outside after curfew is taken away to The Sanctuary - a prison-like building in the centre of New Utopia.
The werewolves coped much more differently with this captivity, they grew more wild and unruly than they had previously been. Their district being turned into slums, where no outsider can hope to survive for long.
Ten years have passed and the creatures still wait, still kept in captivity as members of their clans or packs are taken away to the mysterious Sanctuary, never to be seen again.
