History Information
History: Alex was born into a family that was rather well off. Her father a lucrative business man and her mother a very popular real estate agent. She was the youngest of five children, preceded by her four older brothers who, much like her Father, were very overprotective of her from the start.
All her life, Alexandra was sheltered and hidden away from the world. Only able to venture out when in the company of one of her parents or with her brothers. And even then, she was only allowed to go to certain places, never really allowed to explore the world.
Not that she ever questioned it. In fact, it was the only life she had ever known, and therefore assumed that was the way the world worked. But this is not to say she did not have friends. In fact, when she was 12 her parents finally decided that she was ready to be enrolled into one of the more prestigious private schools in Long Beach. Never had she been so nervous or so happy. She was finally going to be able to get out and explore the world a bit. To meet other kids her age. It was what she had dreamed of all her life.
She flourished in school there. Able to make friends quickly enough and always the teachers pet due to her polite manners, her soft, easy going attitude and her ability to pick up on the lessons with great ease.
She remained in school for three years, until the age of 15, when she met a boy. His name was Daniel, and he was by far the most handsome boy she had ever seen in her life. His smile gave her butterflies and his eyes made her heart race. Night after night she dreamed of him. And as they grew closer, the dream of perhaps one day becoming his girlfriend started to flourish within her mind. Her happiest memory still, being the day that he held her hand in an effort to guide her to a secluded spot behind the school. She had been so sure that he was going to ask her finally, that that day was the day he would ask her to be his.
But out of nowhere, her brother Mark showed up. The moment he saw Daniel holding her hand, he lost it and grabbed her arm, jerking her away and into his car. She cried the whole way home as he continued to yell at her, telling her that boys were no good, that they would only use her and leave her for something new once they were done.
When she got home, she ran up to her room and locked the door, throwing herself on the bed and crying for hours, until she finally fell asleep. The next day, she learned that Daniel had transferred out of the school, and though the connection was there between her family and his leaving, she did not see it. She simply assumed he had left because of her. And it was in that moment she realized that Mark had been right. Boys would indeed use you and leave you. Her devotion to her family growing with this new realization.
Three days later, she was withdrawn from school by her Father and resumed her in home lessons once more. From then on out, they made sure to keep a closer eye on her and her outings grew less and less.
Then, the day came when the war broke out in the city. Death and destruction everywhere. The day that her Father was killed. He had gone to town to gather her present for her birthday and gotten caught in the midst of all the fighting. New of his death reached them late that night, and of all of them, Alexandra took it the hardest.
She blamed herself, for it was her present he was going to get.
Now, she is struggling to make it in a world that is so different. She barely understood the way it used to be, however will she learn to adapt to this one? Especially when her brother's refuse to let her out of the house anymore without one of them and only every once in a blue moon.
But the problem is, she is growing restless. Something has got to give.
