Ok, let's just start class. Gettin' tired of waitin'.
Apparently, Anton's old English teacher quit---he was under too much stress, & the student body was overwhelming & emotionally taxing for him. At least, that's what he heard; thus, that class was divided among the rest of the English department, & Anton wound up in a new class. Hopefully, the department was on the same page as far as curriculum was concerned. After all, the story that the class was going over at the time was immersive, to say the least. It would be a shame if he had to move on just because this teacher had a separate agenda.
However, it was no biggie if they did, considering Anton's grade in English currently was a B+. The class came easy to him, somewhat---he may've used broken English in public, but he wasn't stupid about it, & he could very well comprehend. That in itself could connote proficiency in the course. However, as aforementioned, this new teacher may have had a separate agenda, possibly one more challenging.
Anton could only hope this Ms. Nanda would just have an okay personality---he'd hate having to deal with a teacher with a funky attitude.

Humming cheerfully, she entered the classroom and gave a giggle- not many people in here. She gave no judgmental looks, nor did she make a single notice of the students beyond the giggle. Setting a large text and her assistant, Mr Paddle, down. Oki simply moved to the board and wrote her name in clear and clean lettering. 'Professor Oki Watari Nanda'. This was her name. Any problems- too bad. She was Oki and Oki was Oki without any doubt that Oki could never be anything more than well Oki! Follow? Savvy? Wonderful!
Turning around the 5'1", busty instructor offered a grand smile, "Oki welcomes her ducklings- old and new to Advanced English. Oki is Oki as seen on the board, and Oki insists on being called Miss Nanda. No ifs, ands or buts. Understood? Wonderful!" she looked about, big brown eyes studying faces and learning them within moments. She knew roll without taking it officially. After all student files had photos and Oki had a photogenic memory.
"Oki's rules are the same as any other instructors. No fighting during her class- Oki does not like to cause harm to those she must turn right around and heal. Also! Hats, hoodies and sunglasses are not allowed. Oki wishes to see her goslings faces, especially during dictations and reports. Good eye contact is a way to build trust and in Oki's room, trust is vital. Ah. One more thing before we begin today. Street slang and foul language are to be left outside Oki's classroom. Oki will not tolerate it. She wants to hear the potential she sees in each and every one of her goslings." She giggled, stepping up to her little podium.
"All clear and understood?"

Those...
Go towards the board...
is some...
Write on it...
big...
Back away...
ass...
...And turn around to face the class again.
titties. And she got some CAKES wit 'em!? Deeeeeeeeeyummmn....
Ok, this teacher was nothing short of sex kitten material. Wait, sex kitten? Understatement of the year. This was a fucking LIONESS. Anton could only wonder how, even for God, how He could stack all that raw female essence on one frame. Mindblowing, really---well, until she started speaking.
Okay, the name wasn't an issue. Anton stayed in California, he was accustomed to names & pronunciations. However, Anton had to keep his eyebrow from cocking when this teacher started referring to herself in 3rd person. Okayyyyy...that was slightly disturbing. However, she got to dress code, & Anton couldn't help but laugh---stunner frames over his eyes, a bandana on his forehead, & diamond studs in his ears. He removed the first two, & took out the studs just in case this lady had problems with men having ear jewelry. But obviously, one major problem was being able to speak properly. As mentioned in the very first installment of this little segment, Anton knew correct English, for the most part. He could speak fluently. However, he didn't practice it regularly, & he'd have to adjust accordingly to not see how that paddle on Ms. Nanda's desk felt like.
Anton would nod his head with the class to show he understood the teacher's orders.

She cheered, "Wonderful! Now!" she walked around passing out books- Shakespeare, old disastrous copies provided by the school itself. She hummed and laughed, seeing the shuffling and pausing at one student or another giving small comments.
Pausing at Anton, Oki laughed, "Anton Lorenz, yes? Oki does not mind jewelry. She only wishes to see his face and eyes." She giggled, ruffling his hair, "very thoughtful of him however."
She walked back to the front of the class and announced, "Oki has descided for the sake of sanity, we shall be reading 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' written by William Shakespeare. However," she stepped up behind her podium, "there is more homework to come. Something Oki will explain later, towards the end of class."
"Now. Oki's Goslings- open the books to act 1, scene 1 and....." she pointed at a random student on the left of Anton, "begin reading aloud as THESEUS...and," she pointed to one girl, "you will be reading as HIPPOLYTA," pointing again, "you as EGEUS, and finally you as HERMIA."
As the parts came, Oki would point to a random student, to Anton, went the part of Lysander and Puck. Oki read aloud as the Faye Queen and as Fairy 1. Ah this is fun. Yes?

Oh, thank God---he could at least be himself SOMEWHAT. Anton smiled brightly, popping his studs back in his ear, then throwing hie head back afterwards. If she wanted him to keep his eyes visible, he'd have to take his dreadlocks out of his line of vision.
As the books began to spread across the class, it became evident that the story that he was going over in his old class would have to be completed on his own time---they were in a new book. Now, wasn't this the book where it was the best of times, it was the---wait, that was The Twin Cities. Yeah, that was the name of it for sure! But that still left him without a synopsis of this text; the title was familiar, but he had no clue what he was getting into.
However, his eyes would scan through the pages, familiarizing himself vaguely with the lines so he could keep on cue & run through this somewhat smoothly when his time came to read his part (What kinda person names they kid Puck? And I thought I had it bad bein' called Anton...). Simple enough, he thought.

Once the class reached Act 4 Scene 2, the tale of the love square and fae had reached it's climax, Oki stopped her readers, minutes before the bell had rung. She ran a hand through her bangs, making them flare and frame her face- she closed her eyes for a moment and hummed. Gathering her thoughts, memorizing the last bit of who spoke what and where. Then, walking around the podium, fully visible to the class.
She smiled, "Oki must say she is quite impressed. When Oki's Goslings leave, please leave the books on the desks. Those are the school's copy, and they are to stay here."
She stretched, sighed a happy note, "Ah! Homework! Oki almost forgot!" There was a loud groan through the class, the usual protesters. Oki picked up Paddle and all fell silent. She giggled, "As Oki was saying, everyone is to choose a book they have never read or even one they are currently reading. Tell Oki the title and this will become their homework- to read the book, to write a no more than 5 page report on the argumentative elements within the book."
The bell rang and Oki watched her Goslings begin to file out, "If there are any questions, or if anyone already knows their book- come talk to Oki!"

Anton listened to the homework assignment & already decided on what he was going to write on. Thus, he'd wait until the rest of the class left to talk to his new teacher about the assignment.
"Yeah, Ms. Nanda. I, uhh, yeah, I got a book. Catcher in the Rye." When Anton walked up to her before he spoke, he had place his left hand on his chin & wrapped his right arm around his torso to prop his left arm on. This was for a reason---this would block his lower peripheral vision, & in turn, block sight of Oki's goods. He couldn't afford to let his eyes drift, not with that blasted paddle.

Oki gave a small smile, this was a newer student to her class, he was amusing- and overly polite, said umm and yeah a bit- even in dictation. He would be a handful but Oki did not mind. She saw the potential within him- perhaps she should get him interested in theater- he had great dictation but he was still to in connection with the slang which festered in this school and several other places.
Giving a slight nod, "J. D. Salinger. First published in 1951. Oki approves, however with a book at such a low reading level, Oki wants him to make sure he feels challenged as opposed to thinking he can skim though her class without working hard. This is not the situation- correct, Gosling Anton Lorenz?"

"Oh, shit! I didn't think about---"
And as soon as he said it, Anton's eyes grew wide, hand immediately going over his mouth. He'd have liked to have slipped up & went into slang, rather than curse in front of the teacher. Smooth move, indeed.
"I am SO sorry." He didn't sound desperate about his apology, considering he couldn't help but laugh at himself; he could only blame his loss of focus on the woman in front of him. After all, he'd never been exposed really to a grownass female. No mother in the home, plus being accustomed to teenage girls wasn't exactly good room to see what they look like when puberty ran its course. Yeah, that was the reason.
Or maybe he just didn't try hard enough to keep composure.
"But in any case," that composure was regained, "I didn't consider it. I can try to find another book that'd work, & get back to ya---YOU on the matter. When's the deadline for the book I chose?"

Oki smiled, her big brown eyes narrowed as he swore. She didn't even like the most subtle of swears. It was simply how she was, and this was still her room- her territory. Her hand tightened around Paddle hard, the leather grip making a soft sound. But she pushed a smile through it- he was quick to apologize. Wouldn't save him next time.
Her tone was still friendly though held an edge to it, she was not happy with his language- no matter how forgiving she was. "Oki thinks it would be best if he had his book chosen by the next class. Oki is eager to see what he comes up with- she would suggest something along the lines of Tolstoy, Tolkien, or even H.G. Wells."
She gave a small nod, "But keep in mind these are only suggestions and he should find a book of his own, on his own- preferably something he can relate to. Biographies are also acceptable."
Giving a worn smile, "Anything else?"
