Name:  Motto:"The way to have power is to take it" Theme: Heart of Courage - Two Steps from Hell Mission Statement: As of its inception, Deorc Veritas shall become the vanguard of knowledge and power whilst empowering, developing and protecting its members in order to reach the goals set forth by its leaders. Etymology: Alignment:The alignment of DeorcVeritas is insubstantial. Its actions frequently fluctuating at the behest of its leaders and ideals. Constantly seeking to further its own priorities and develop its members, the gang shall act as it sees fit to pursue the ends that it desires. Leader(s): Primarily, the apparent leader of DeorcVeritas is Jack O’Connor , however, the title is mainly used as a figurehead as the official leader is Phoenix. Despite this deception, both individuals receive equal respect and command identical authority from each other whilst demanding complete obedience from the gang. Hierarchy:  In essence, the structure of DeorcVeritas is that of an oligarchic trias politica, simply designed and effective in manifestation. The separation of power into two main branches, Intelligence and Martial, grants the leaders significant degrees of freedom that allow them to act independently of the other so long as it is parallel with the ideology and interests of the gang. Containing the command within an elite few provides a stable base of power from which to act, however, though oligarchic the system is far from tyrannical with all input from members taken seriously.
The brute force and militaristic nature of DeorcVeritas is concentrated in the Martial division, also referred to as Invictus, whose duty revolves around the protection and expansion of territory and wealth as well as training new recruits and eliminating potential threats. Within itself, Invictus is divided into two squads, Sangius and Thanatos, for ease of command. These units, each led by their own officer, are free to act independently whilst respecting any prior order and not hindering the gang in any way.
Similarly, the intelligent and secretive nature of DeorcVeritas is concentrated in the Intelligence division, also referred to as Scáthach, whose duty revolves around the gathering and interception of information as well as formulating strategies and recruiting new members. Within itself, Scáthach is divided into two squads, Sceintia and Timoris, for ease of command. These units, each led by their own officer, are free to act independently whilst respecting any prior order and not hindering the gang in any way.
Ultimately, the power of the gang rests in the hands of its leaders and relies on those individuals, each controlling their branches to the best of their ability in order to synchronously achieve their goals. Rank Structure: The ranks of DeorcVeritas have little to do with the chain of command, which is directly assigned by dual consensus of the leaders, and instead acknowledge the accomplishments and development of the individual. Each division has its own unique ranking system with a promotion to the next successive rank requiring the recommendation of an officer and acceptance by a leader.

The ideology of DeorcVeritas consists of the need to be always present, yet never seen. To be able to adapt to any situation, act from the shadows and develop body and mind are abilities both highly sought after and rewarded. The true goals of the organisation are set by the current leaders, however, they may change quickly and without warning. On the other hand the ideals are set in stone. The need for secrecy is paramount to the gang's cause.

Notes 6th of March 2012 - Regards recruitment and Gang secrecy.Sub-Organizations Explained As Deorc Veritas is a secret organization known to only a select few within a guarded inner circle it operates under many false names and faces via smaller sub-organizations. One of them is the mercenary company run and administered by Jack O’Connor, which is made up of some Invictus soldiers as well as general volunteers and recruits from the territories.
This is done for many reasons, one reason is so a large number of members both PC's, PCNPC's and NPC's can join but never gather information which is not openly revealed to the public thus protecting the integrity of a secret organization such as Deorc Veritas. Secondly it allows Jack O'Connor to train prospective soldiers and interact with other key people without attracting unneeded them into an organization allowing for a much broader interaction between neutral parties.
In order to justify any violent or aggressive territory expansion which Jack O’Connor and his "company" partake in, it is required that a written contract is submitted into their logs as a guise for a legitimate job and paid in full by using the personal funds Jack O’Connor has acquired, via inheritance or by some other means that their accountants (Phoenix) has come up with. By doing so the organization of Deorc Veritas is protected from the public allowing them to operate in the shadows and is not seen as a large threat meaning expansion and recruitment can occur to be perceived as being fragmented.
While the Grey Mercenary Corps is by far the largest, stronger and wealthiest of any free company in active service within Deorc Veritas territories they are not the only mercenary company. There are several mercenary companies which serve as rivals to the Grey Mercenary corps. In addition there is a police force hired by the standard government to keep the peace within the territories. All public and secret police work is handled and administered by Phoenix despite being tailored to Jack O’Connor's direction.

As per arranged by the deal the Grey Mercenary Corps receives a large portion of land at the center of the norther Huntington park district.
UEI college has been taken as the headquarters of Deorc Veritas including the building complex just north of it. So the block from Randolph st, Pacific blvd, Belgrave ave and Rugby ave has been walled off and is now the official Grey Mercenary's head quarters.
Across the road (Pacific Blvd) has all been demolished from, Pacific Blvd, Belgrave Ave, Randolph st and Seville ave. There is only dirt and a little grass growing there. This has all been walled off (wire fencing) with outposts at every crossing. Members of public are allowed on the premises but must register through one of the outposts and will have an escort at all times.
Opposite the training field, crossing Belgrave Ave there is the Pacific Center Shopping Center. The car park has been cleared to allow stalls to allow the public to barter and trade goods. All vendors, stall owners and shop owners must pay a tax as well as a lot hiring fee to the trading society who are a sub-group of the Los Angeles Trading Company who is the company who hire Deorc Veritas.
Finally there is the local hospital which is run by the head Doctor of Deorc Veritas, Philippe Nixon. Phoenix's official public rank within the Grey Mercenary Corps (GMC) is head doctor and it is for this reason he was hired by the Los Angeles Trading Company to administer treatment and oversee the operation of the hospital which would be responsible for treating the public as well as GMC members.
The Merry Irishmen is a pub located on the outskirts of Dragon and Deorc Veritas territory. It is off to the side and out of the way. It is one of the many places of commerce where people from all over can come and have a drink. At any given time there are two Grey Mercenary Corps security guards and two undercover agents. The security guards don't alternate much but the undercover agents present will rotate randomly to limit detection.
There is someone from the administration department (intelligence division) present at the bar during certain hours to oversee new recruits signing up. At every major meeting place within Huntington Park there will be administration people looking for new recruits.
More information will soon be up on the ins and outs of how the pub operates. For now it's just a regular place where you can come and get some home brewed beer and other drinks.

Independent Organizations WIP In order to protect the integrity of it's organization, once Deorc Veritas takes a territory they put in place a puppet organization and create effectively a puppet state. A trusted member who understands the inner workings of the organization is trusted with control of each puppet organization. In the case of Huntington Park, Nick Archer is put in charge using his charisma to win the favor of the council.
While nothing at the moment is set in stone, any dealings with the territories in question should take this in mind.
Los Angeles trading company (LATC) - A group of very influential traders who seek to spread their trade network out across all of Los Angeles, with the voice of the people they've created a society nicknamed "Trader's Society". The people who live within this society elect leaders to run the community and ensure that their homes flourishes with trade and civility.
The elections however are rigged and only leaders who are selected by Deorc Veritas will ever gain enough support to lead. With several board members in the Los Angeles trading company as well as five out of twelve elected council members all agents of Deorc Veritas the hold on the territory has grown strong.
Trade provides a source of income for Deorc Veritas with a means to build up their coffers without relying on the money, goods or services that comes in from Jack O'Connor's, Grey Mercenary Corps. As well as this, the traffic of general citizens is a perfect way to learn about what is happening with the rest of the city and move larger quantities of goods without raising suspicion of other gangs who for the most part are oblivious to the fact that one of the largest armies in Los Angeles boarders their territories.
The Church - With no official name to this date the church is a very secretive religious order who are gaining influence in the out skirts of DV territory. What is not publicly known is the Jack O'Connor himself is a part of this church or more correctly this cult.It is on the orders of the religious leaders of his cult that he supply the church with the manpower to establish themselves in Los Angeles in return the Mercenary Corps are well paid for their time. Since the take of of Leimert Park the LATC have moved in and begun to bring trade to the region.
The Covenant - Not much is known of this order.

Grey Mercenary Corps Jake Puaka - Father of Peter Puaka, the sworn shield of Jack O'Connor, his role is to act as a drill sergeant for new recruits and teach them about military tactics as well as advice Jack in his decisions with regards to running the Corps. He himself served as a Mercenary after the gulf war. Peter Puaka was born in 1989 wile Jake Puaka was finishing his training to become a green beret. During the 1992 to 2001 period Jake spent some time working as a mercenary protecting sea trade routes from Somalian pirates. After 9/11 Jake resumed his service with the military for several years before retiring well into his thirties and no longer able to put up with the grueling routine of infantry life. For the last decade he had been a security consultant as well as a mentor to his son as he too pushed for a military career.Jake Puaka was introduced to Jack through his son Peter, while Peter was doing some work for Jack.
