Silk was out, note book in hand. She had wandered around most of the destroyed area and had been asking people, for the better part of the day, about the destruction and what they could tell her. People were pretty tight lipped on the ordeal. They didn't like some stranger poking her nose in shit. No idea what attention she might draw.
"Excuse me! sir!"
Silk ran after a man who looked like he was looking for something. He was picking through debris like he was looking for something. She wore a long tanned skirt, and brown gladiator type sandals with a black t-shirt. Her hair was pulled back into a pony tail and she let it swish around behind her as she caught up to him.
"Sir, have you lived her a long time?"
She asked finally catching up to the haggard looking man. He turned to stare at her with a bit of annoyance in his eyes.
"Of course."
He spoke harshly to her. Almost like she should have known the answer. A smile quickly dawned her face. Her green eyes brightened up.
"That is wonderful! Okay, my name is Silk Velasquez, perhaps you have heard of me, and my book... it was called "The life of lies" and I'm actually writing a..."
The man walked away. Silk glared after him. Now she was getting pretty angry. This was ridiculous. Were people this rude here? What happened to people being nice... like Kaz. She smiled a bit more thinking a bout the young boy. A sigh left her lips and she would soldier on. Today, she had left Bandit and Aiko at home. It was hard to get notes when she had to watch those two idiots. Her eyes swept the area. Nothing. No one seemed to catch her eye. She was close to giving up. She blew a silver streak of hair from her face and sighed.
"Asshole city. Can't a poota just come here, get her freakin story and get out? Gah, but nooo everyone is all bessime coolo!"
After her grumbling, Silk would sit down on a piece of debris. Her legs crossed and her elbow resting on her knee with her head resting on her fist. It was almost like she was deep in thought about something. Knowing her, it could be anything from Kazuya, the young boy she had met, to Leon's heart condition, to getting her book written. In midst of her though, Silk heard the click of a camera. She blinked and sat up. Her green eyes looked around till she spotted someone with a camera. Well, this person obviously cared about the destruction, perhaps they would be willing to talk to her about the issue. Silk got to her feet.
"Excuse me!"
She called out and quickly moved towards the person with the camera.
"Excuse me, but would you have some time to talk about what happened here?"
She asked deciding on the direct approach being the best at the moment.

She was out and about taking pictures of the destruction. Why? Because even in these desolate times, there was a demand for the dark and twisted sides of life captured on film. People loved to hang that shit on their walls and pretend it wasn't right outside their front door.
Which was pretty pathetic if you thought about it. Which Kev did, and she relished it. She made a killing off their own delusions and denial. It was the perfect job to have she thought. Not to mention she loved doing it.
Dressed in a simple sweater dress with a pair of black leggings and her hair pulled back, glasses on her face, she looked slightly nerdy but in a very sexy way. As was usual for her,
Her camera strapped about her neck as she lifted it up to take a pic of some destroyed fountain or what appeared to have been a fountain at least. A few different angles as she debated on which was the best light to capture it in.
The sudden sound of somebody calling out grabbing her attention as she turned slightly to get a better glimpse of who it was, her brow raising slightly as she saw the other girl coming toward her.
The question making her pause for a moment, lowering the camera to hang about her neck as she fully turned her body toward the other female.
"What do you want to know?"
That southern accent thick as she spoke, even if her tone was soft and gentle. Completely opposite of the look held in her icy hues which appeared to hold something more determined and possibly dark. Such a contradiction but she pulled it off so well.

"What do you want to know?"
Oh my god! Someone actually responded. Someone actually was willing to answer her! Silk would have jumped for joy, if she hadn't thought it would be really stupid to have done such a thing. Right now, what she was doing was important. She could celebrate this later. She slowed as she got closer and soon stood in front of the woman. Silk had to admit, the woman looked good. The accent caught her off guard. Though... that was why Silk didn't speak spanish. She learned in high school, people were caught off guard easily.
"Well, I am writing a second biography and since I have just moved here, there is a lot I missed out on knowing."
She said as she made she she had her pencil already on the paper.
"I know that there was a man named Barker... who... if I heard right... experimented on students at this school, but..."
She would hmm and tap her pencil against her lip a moment. She was trying to figure out what questions to ask. She thought she had them already thought out but with so many people having turned her down before this, well it was a bit tough to narrow down what she wanted to know.
"But... I don't know if he was caught. I also don't know... who did all this."
She said turning her head towards the destruction. It wasn't like it was the first time she had seen something this destroyed but, it was strange when you arrive some place and this has happened with out your help.
" I mean... it is amazing and California has done a good job keeping outside places from hearing about it. There is only so much I can gleam from newspaper articles and online news reports."
The woman before her looked quite younger then Silk. That was when she got the perfect question.
"You... you wouldn't have happened to be a student here when all this happened, would you?"
She could have probably been asking Kazuya about all this, but he was so stoic, she needed something more to go off of. Silk wrote with emotion, passion... Kazuya... was a rock. He just stood and stared. Certainly someone else would provide her with the emotion she needed for this piece of her book puzzle.

She arched her brow slightly at the range of things coming out of this woman. Not that it bothered her to be spoken to, not in the slightest, but honestly she was probably not the best person to be asking.
She was, in almost every sense of the word, a lap dog for Gabriel. Though she preferred the term kitten...but whatever.....point was, she just did as she was told. No real desire to pay attention to the situation unless she had to.
She knew some though, which was what had her nodding in agreement with some of the things being said.
"No, I was not a student, but I did live here during the events in question. I graduated a few years ago."
She thought for a moment on what she had learned and then shrugged. Not sure what the best answer for this was.
"From my understanding, it was Barker and his forces that caused this. They went to war with others who wished to stop him from overtaking the city. This is a result of that war."
Her hand motioning to the apparent destruction around them.
"My friends and I are in the process of trying to stop this....or at least fight back. But that is not something really open to discussion at this point in time."
She was like that......mention it but not divulge too much. Never sure how much Gabriel wished others to know. And of course never mentioning his name...not unless she was told to.

Silk would listen to the girl. So, she wasn't as young as Silk first thought, well... females were harder to guess. By now, she was certain Kazuya was no high school student.
"I see, my mistake."
She'd smile a bit as the girl continued. Even though the girl didn't divulge too much, Silk still got what she needed. This Barker guy and his group caused the destruction...this young girl... was... Silk's mind trailed off. So, this girl and her friends were fighting back. Why did this all sound terribly familiar. Someone bad was doing something, then a bunch of students, or former students fight to stop it. It brought back some good memories.
"Well, I'd never ask you to tell me anything specific. This is just fine."
Silk would smile. She knew about keeping quiet about such things. She used to be a knightess. Nothing that was said at Tenchi's stupid round table ever got repeated. Some of those silver bangs of hers would drift into her face before she'd look at the girl after making sure she got her notes down.
"Now... would you say... what this Barker guy has done, has made people less friendly? Cause... I gotta tell you... I've only met you and maybe a few others who were remotely nice enough to talk."
She laughed lightly.
"Though... one doesn't talk as much as he just stares blankly, like you are of no amusement what so ever."
Even though the silver haired woman laughed at this. That boy really gave her trouble. She wasn't sure what went on in his mind, or even if he liked her. It could have all been pointless. All her flirting, and doing sexy things.
"You... ever meet a guy like that? Who acts more like a rock than a human being and you can't read his emotions or face? It's been driving me nuts."
She didn't honestly think the girl would have. I mean, how many guys walked around not showing even a smile? Silk was just rambling she supposed. Perhaps she was a little overly happy that the girl had actually agreed to speak with her.

She arched her brow slightly, her hand fidgeting lightly with her camera as she tilted her head.
Wow..this one can talk can't she?
Aye...that she can.....
Why is she asking us about men?
Maybe we look as slutty as we are?
I think we look nice today...
I have to agree with that one...
Her mind trailing off halfway through the conversation only to be drawn back to the topic of men once more. A little grin tugging at the corner of her lips.
"Ah yes, I have met one like that before. Such a hard book to read...even for me...and I can sense people's emotions usually."
She gave a short laugh, thinking back to Kazy pooh and how he was always such a tough nut to crack. A slight roll of her eyes as she shook her head.
"I judge his thoughts on me based on how he treats me instead of how he reacts to me. For years now I have made it a game to toy with him just to get a smirk or slightly amused look out of him....Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...but he does spoil me so...and therefore I know he cares.."
Spoiled? Definitely. She wasn't about to deny it. Though in all fairness, she was so right there all the time that it was hard to ignore her. Though she was certain that he could if he really wanted to.
"Honestly, turning it into a game with him was the only way I could maintain sanity around him I think. Now, its just oh so much fun."
A nod given before she turned and picked up her camera, her mind slowly ebbing back to the first part of the conversation.
"As for your first question....Yes it has made people less friendly. To be expected. One never knows who is with who or when somebody will be trying to kill you for your territory or whatever else they have up their ass as the time..."
Kevala honestly didn't care, hence why she was not being extremely closed off in this moment. Sure, she was paranoid, but at the same time, she knew that being cold toward people earned you less ground....And her skill set was making friends, allies and things of that nature...Being nice was all part of the job description.
A few snapshots taken of a couple nearby who seemed to be caught in the midst of some heated lovers quarrel. A little grin toying at her lips. Amused, as always, by the suffering of others....

Silk felt like that retarded person who just runs up to you and screams spaghettios at you, then walks off. It wasn't like her to speak about men to anyone, much less during a time she was trying to get information for her book, but Kazuya rested on her mind and so she had talked about it. The girl was polite enough to at least answer her. Though it almost sounded like the young girl was speaking about Kazuya. He had mentioned a friend of his lived with him and that she was almost like a little sister to him now.
She wouldn't read too much into it though. Reading into things usually meant she would make a fool of her self. When the girl answered her first question about how people had changed, Silk went back to writing down her notes and nodding. The girl's words were true. She had been shot and remembered how skittish she had been around people with guns after. Took her a while to feel normal again.
After her notes, Silk would look up catching the girl taking pictures of a couple fighting. What an odd hobby. First the girl was taking pictures of rubble, and now she was taking pictures of the couple arguing.
"I actually came from a place kinda like this one... I mean, it was New York so not as sunny but... there are still some similarities and... yea, after certain things happened... people closed them selves to others. So I can understand that."
She would slip her pencil behind her ear and look around at all the destruction.
"It's amazing almost... that one person could be capable of so much destruction. Kinda puts that whole 'we are killing our own planet' stuff into focus."
Silk would look back to the young woman before her. She'd pluck her pencil from behind her ear, a smile crossing her lips and she would look back down at her note pad.
"This might sound stupid to even ask, but... why do you take pictures of such disaster. Like... I mean... when I walked up, you were taking pictures of the rubble and just now you took a picture of a young couple possibly breaking up."
It wasn't like Silk to not comment on something she noticed. Besides, the girl's answer would be good for her book. Almost like 'a person who has this thought on the destruction answered these questions for me' type thing. It was the part of her brain that belonged to being a reporter that thought like this. When ever you are reporting or writing about something and you use a third party to gain knowledge, its always best to know a bit of the person's mentality.
Kind of makes the answers to her questions more real. Almost like putting a face to the voice.
