Inhabitants and associations with the Public High-school System seemed to breed a generation of people that just disappeared from the face of the world, seemingly at random intervals. Some returned, others did not. The large behemoth walking among the rubble was not foreign to the disappearing disease that had infected many before him and would continue its plague in the future.
This was why he was here, in the ruins of an old school, having heard the rumors about the chaos, how Barker had taken a good portion of what once had been a free city, and how what Barker did not own was owned by various gangs.
He had changed, just as he always did when he disappeared for a prolonged period of time.. but it was not as drastic as it had been in the past. The large man no longer seemed frail, as if he were on the verge of death. He seemed healthy. Time apart had done wonders for helping him kick the habit permanently.. especially given the last he had been around this place he was nearly broken, a husk of his old-self.
He filled out that suit well, thick black fabric, smooth to the touch, seemed to refuse any form of dirt refuge on its pristine shell, an overcoat fit for a king. The same could be said for those pressed and straight pants, the same thick fabric as his jacket. That fresh from the dry cleaner look did not stop with the outer layer of clothing, with a well-maintained blue button up, locked all the way up to the top, with a black tie snug underneath buttoned down collar, kept dead center.
Only two things seemed to stand out on the man. Odd enough that a man in such a nice suit should have thought twice, but he did not. He had ditched the wing-tips, too uncomfortable, instead a set of larger then life lo-tops knotted up nice and tight on those size eighteen feet, Bozo the Clown seemed to have lost a pair of gym shoes. Then there were those white strings of plastic hanging down from the back of his neck and disappearing into the shoulders of that suit jacket, stopping at a right-side stash pocket where the perpetrator of rather loud music was hidden.
A rather sizable boulder, easily the size of a large dog was kicked off into a bigger pile by the giant, listening to the sound as smaller rocks shifted and jostled about for position thanks to the imposing intruder.
"Heh. Guess rumors were not just rumors then.. Hm."
There were a large list of questions already formulating in the big mans head, mostly because he had known Asiv, and he had known a large number of staff and students who would not have just sat idly by while Barker had his way. Why was this place still a wreckage zone? Why had he seen armed goons in several places in town on the way over here?
"Occupation.. that's what this is, wonder if I should bother?"
What was he mumbling to himself? Considerations for this place. He had at one point planned on becoming a full time instructor, given he was a year off from his doctorates, now he had a few other ideas in mind.

Ah, the beauty of a school in ruins. She had to admit, despite the whole...everything being in complete and utter chaos, she liked the school being this way...hell she liked the city being this way. She enjoyed the fear and panic it presented in others, she thrived off of that kind of shit.
Still, when she had come to the school today, she had not been planning on running into anyone. Hell, the place was pretty much abandoned. Well save for when Gabriel decided to make his presence known or one of the many lackies he had running about. Okay, so perhaps she had thought that she might run into somebody, but yeah, she had hoped not to.
The usual jeans, tank top and combat boots attire was what she wore, though today she had opted to wear a jacket. Not common for her, at least not anymore, but she had figured, "what the hell?"...Yet already she felt restricted, confined....felt the urge to take it off, to breath. But she fought through it.
This was her last ditch effort at trying to be more normal. Though honestly, who was she kidding? She was never normal, and she never would be normal. She just had this delusion that she could somehow pull it off stuck in her head, but in reality, she knew the truth, she knew that she would always be this mess that she was right now.
Hell, she didn't even know why she was here. Some attempt at capturing the memories of her past? The good ones? She honestly could not say. She had been so lost to the world for weeks now that nothing she did made any sense, least of all to herself.
Still, here she was, her dark locks falling around her shoulders, those icy hues glancing up from the ground as she moved, just to survey the area for a moment before dropping back down. A heavy breath.
She was distracted. Her mind everywhere else BUT here....which was probably not the best thing, but then, there was some dark, hidden part of her that wished somebody could just come along and finish her off. Save her the trouble of doing it herself.
A little growl at the thought before she would kick a few bit of debris out of her way. Hands balling into fists inside the pockets of her jacket as she turned the corner and headed in a new direction, eyes not bothering to glance up just yet...not noticing the figure that stood in front of her a little ways....Though she probably should have...

The figure she rounded the corner so close by had just taken a step back to turn when he felt the solidity of another person crashing into him. This got him to turn fully around and glance down, brow up nice and high.. last person in the world he had expected to see. Sister. Well. Not quite as close as Hiroko in terms of being a sibling, but still a sister none the less.
"Kevala?"
The big mans voice practically oozed 'what the hell?' for very good reasons as well. Destiny had decided to grab him by the gonads it seemed, not that it would change the rest of the mans demeanor. No. That was as solid as ever, and she'd have felt that from colliding with the behemoth.
The questions over the school, Barker, lack of students in a place of... well, students, were washed away, almost instantaneously. Instead, replaced with questions of what she had been up to, why she seemed... different, where was she staying, what about the child? Just like that his focus snapped back and what had been a glazed over look was now focused back on her.
He peeled one of those buds from his ear, then the other, just letting them hang down over his shoulders. A readjust of his suit and a smirk on his lips was what she'd have found when she looked up. She should have known that smirk well...even if it had been a long... long... long while.

And just like that she seemed to run smack dab into a fucking wall, a little huff of air escaping her as she stumbled back and shook her head, eyes turning upward to see what the hell she had run into, not thinking that she had misjudged her path that badly.
Though the smirk that met her gaze and the sound of her names leaving his lips caused her to narrow her eyes slightly....not at all confused as to who it was. Another step back as she pulled her hands from her pocket, and forced herself to take a deep breath in order to better steady her nerves.
"Brother..."
She spoke the word somewhat evenly. Not overly excited but not fully in distaste, though inside her stomach was turning and her panic was rising. Not so much from the sight of him as the idea that "family" was back in town. Memories flashing through her mind as she shook her head to try and clear them.
"Didn't expect to see you here Katsuri..."
That is an understatement.
Shut up right now....
No, I think this falls into my territory...
Not right now...
You are going to get us killed. You know that?
Just...leave me alone for now..
Fine..
Not much resistance put up, mostly because the voice knew all too well where Kev's mind had been...Death was not that scary anymore....Though she knew that would not come of this run in....

The moving wall just looked over her, from that constrictive jacket, to her rather.. calm appearance at him being here. It. Well. It amused the big man, greatly actually. How long had it been since he had seen his dear sister? The last thing he could remember was their rather.. unseemly trist and of course that child that came about because of it.
"I could say the same of you dear sister."
Death? No. Death would not come about because he was here, at least not her own.. more death would come surely, but her life was not his to take.
He would have slipped a hand up from the pockets of those dress pants and lock it on the side of her face, still so firm, rigid and unyielding, yet at the same time it conformed to the curve of her cheek, holding it gently.
Brazen? You could say that.. it also stemmed from the lack of restriction the man so often had, and since this was his first instinct. To cradle a loved one as if things had never changed.. well. That is what he did. Thumb trailed up over the upper curve of her cheek, stopping at her jaw before coming back in the same manner to pause at her chin. He did this several times as he stood there in silence, looking down at her, before he disturbed it.
"Mm... we've a lot to catch up on."

She knew well of the past they shared, and as a result of such she remained calm. Gabriel had taught her to do as much when faced with something like this. Still, inside she felt her panic bubbling up, felt her breath wanting to hitch in her throat and felt her heart rate starting to quicken.
Yet it wasn't until he touched her that she truly began to lose it. It was then that she did cease to breath and that her entire body seemed to tense up. Memories of a time not that long ago, flooded her mind. They were not memories related to him directly, but they were still there...and they were still enough to make her hesitant for anyone to touch her.
But she did not pull away, she was not going to allow that kind of weakness to show through. She was too stubborn for that. Instead, those icy hues remained locked up on his as she slid her tongue against her lips briefly before she would shrug just a bit.
"I suppose we do. It has been awhile..."
She would remain stationary, even though the urge to move away was there. She felt the familiarity in his touch and at the same time she felt the need to escape it. Always conflicted. It was in her nature it seemed.
"How have you been?"
A curious little quirk of her brow as she tilted her head just a bit. Not enough to remove herself from his touch, but enough to force him to readjust it if he so chose to maintain contact.

Katsuri had not changed in mindset since Kevala saw him last, he was the same loving, if slightly distant from the situation brother he had always been/ It was a habit of his to act like this, and well, as we know habitual actions were something of a fan favorite with him. He moved down, gripping her chin softly, holding it in place for just a moment, catching her right near the end of her first sentence.
He leaned in, or rather, leaned down given his stature compared to her own, and she'd have felt his lips against her own. It was wrong, but by the same standards, Katsuri had never been one to care what others thought of him. Eyes slipped shut and he held it for a moment before pulling back, that same grin on his lips.
He then let go of her, as it was only right given he had gotten what he desired.. so that tensing of hers? Only right she got her own. Arms slipped up across the large mans chest as he listened to her continuing.
"Mm.. well.. it started off quite shitty but has since turned quite good. Finally kicked the habit for good, no more root extract running in my veins, no need of a flask, so I feel rather... mmm. Energetic?"
He asked almost looking for the proper word to describe what he felt like. It had been part of the reason he disappeared for so long, the lack of root extract in his body had wrecked havoc and he had basically looked as if he had undergone some years of malnutrition and starvation.
"And yourself dear sister?"
He asked that grin turning to a smile as he continued,
"How have you been?"

As he gripped her chin, she felt her breath catch in her throat, though it might not have been for reasons that he could have possibly thought. Even as he leaned in, she couldn't think to move or even breath or think right....everything was just.....clouded.
The firm press of his lips against her own, lasting for but a moment before she finally snapped out of it and pressed both hands against his chest to push herself back away from him, a glare in her fiery blue eyes as she took a more defensive stance and shook her head.
"Don't..."
Her tone still rather flat and even, though there was a bit of venom lacing the edges of what she spoke. Letting him finish his explanation of how he was before she would dare to utter another word.
"Oh you know me....The usual. Making enemies...getting beaten, tortured and raped...Fucking up every relationship I have had....Lots of blood, death, misery and a fair amount of alcohol and drug abuse...."
A bit snippy..but honestly she didn't care...not anymore.
"So yeah, I have been just peachy. Good to hear that you have been doing so well."
In a manner of speaking it was true, though perhaps not made clear by her tone. Still, she didn't turn to leave, so that had to stand for something...or at least she thought that it did.

There was no resistance at first, clouded, gone it seemed until he began to pull back just a little then he felt those hands solid on her chest, pushing him away with that grin still on his lips as present as ever, it was his nature after all.
"Mm.. sounds like a typical adventure for someone of our family."
That is, their family bred and attracted drama, there was no choice in it really, it just seemed to come out of the woodwork. Still, considering beatings, rape, torture typical? It was a little off, but Katsuri had gone through his fair share of such things... hell for a good portion of his life he had been trapped in a mine forced to work nearly twenty hours a day, being beat, eating slop, then there was the issue of that nasty addiction from his childhood.. but we were not comparing laundry lists were we?
No. Suffice to say he understood. He looked down over her, from head to toe taking in every inch of her.
"Thats half the fun though.. and despite what you say.. the Kevala I knew would have enjoyed a good lot of that... question is, is that Kevala still in front of me or is it something twisted?"

She grinned just slightly. She had to admit that some of it had been fun, up until a certain point none the less. But it wasn't until later, when that shit started taking a toll on her personal life, that she had truly become bothered.
"I am who I am Katsuri. To deny that I enjoyed some of it would be a lie, but to say that everything was a huge fucking turn on would be just as brazen. Besides, I have always much preferred the suffering of others over my own."
She shifted to lean against the wall, her shoulder pressing into it slightly as she folded her arms over her chest and let out a soft sigh.
"Screams of agony and desperate pleas for death are always so much more enjoyable when coming from somebody other than myself..."
She practically purred the words, though she would quickly snap herself out of it. She had stuff in her life now that sort of put a damper on such acts, not to mention she was trying to do the whole...."somewhat good person" thing. Not that it was working out for her, but the point was she tried and that was all that mattered to her in the end.
"So why are you back here?"
She arched her brow slightly. She wasn't shy in asking. She had thought when he packed up and left that would be the end of it, but alas it was not apparently. Now, she wanted to know. Of course, she had always been a bit curious when it came to all things that were really none of her business.

The answer he got was exactly the one he had been expecting, mostly because he was the same way.. there was something about tugging on the strings of someones body to make them sing and fill the air full of delicious screams that just... made him feel great.
"There is no denying that. I can't say I am any different in that regard.."
When she continued though, he had to pause, think. Why was he back? The large mans eyes slipped shut and he shifted to one foot, then the other, almost as if he were trying to will the answer out when it did not want to come. Curiosity? Rumors? Mixture of both? Or was there another underlying reason that he had not yet seen.
"Well... saying it was just to come see you dear sister would be a lie.. but I suppose that factors into it."
Said with that grin returning before he shrugged his shoulders and opened arms out, spreading them, turning in a circle nice and slow as if to say 'look around'.
"This is the reason I came back. I've heard the rumors, seen the news about this place.. no.. a lot of the country becoming a war zone, so I obviously felt the need to come investigate. Then there is the matter of our unfinished business.."
He figured she would understand what he meant.. their child. That was an interesting thing to bring up in a family circle, trust him on that one. Still. The war zone? He was not sure what side he was fighting on yet.. or if he was going to take his own side. Undecided could be interesting.

She knew that would be his response to her words, she knew that the twisted side of her came from her family, no matter how much she wished she could deny it. A little grin once more applied to her lips as she slowly slid her tongue across the lower of such.
"And if you had said it was to see me I would have called you just that...A liar."
Her tone was level enough, nothing close to malice in the way she spoke, though she shrugged and just gave a slight glance around the area.
"I was clearly not enough to make you stay so why would I believe for a second that I was the reason for your return?"
As he motioned to the destruction around them, she gave a knowing little nod. She should have figured that was the reason for his return, knowing that he was as drawn to this stuff as she seemed to be, probably for the same reasons. Only difference was, she knew where she stood on the matter....She doubted that he did.
Though as he mentioned their "unfinished" business she arched her brow, a tilt of her head as she pushed herself away from the wall and stood more upright, a bit more defensive.
"Why whatever do you mean?"
She knew damn well what he meant, but she was playing "dumb" so to speak in order to pretend that she didn't. Though her tone suggested otherwise. She wasn't a good liar, she never had been, despite the life she chose to live and the things she had done with it.

"You know what I mean, do not play coy dear sister, you've always been horrible at it."
There was an amused grin on his face as she tried to play it off as if he had not been talking about that child.. their child. A glance away, just a split second, the behemoth would have seemed in contempt for his actions.. but that second did not last long. Eyes focused back on hers unwavering, almost devoted to the cause as it were.
"It almost hurts you feigning ignorance... "
He said with a sharp intake of air, a faked look of heartfelt pain, clutching his chest, and even drawing in a bit of a sniff as if on the verge of tears. Then he paused and looked back up, watching her, knowing the act would do nothing for her.. but doing it anyways.
"Our spawn dear sister. Since you seem to have forgotten."
Continued that previous sentence and then stuffed his hands down into his pockets, the faint sound of song shifting to a new from those dangling buds of plastic, a minor annoyance to most.. but he doubted Kevala would mind it in the least.

She watched him, a mild show of irritation flickering within her eyes as she slowly brushed her tongue against her lower lip and then tilted her head just slightly.
"Oh please....Do not pretend that you would be hurt by anything I say or do. It does not suit you and honestly it simply proves to piss me off."
She rolled her eyes a bit and then let out a heavy sigh, about to speak before he once more opened his mouth, mention of their "spawn" causing a slight flicker of crimson within her eyes, though it was quickly stamped down. She was not about to let this rile her, not now. She had too much going on in her life, though she had to admit, that his timing was impeccable.
"Why do you wish to know Katsuri?"
She was suspicious..No doubt. Her fingers moved to her hand, idly turning her wedding ring about as she looked down at them. Not a gesture of being nervous, not by any means, but more so she could adjust the rings into their proper alignment. She would have to get the fused together, but for now she had been too busy.
"I have not heard anything from you, not even a letter to ask how things were. So why is it that now you seem to care?"
She raised her eyes once more, her brow arching just slightly. She was protective, it was just natural for her really and not to mention she knew that Mischa would have a fit when she told her of her run in with Katsuri and that he had asked about their "spawn". She was being cautious....it was all she could really think to do.

That irritation. Oh, so fun. He merely shook his head and shrugged for her, as if to give in to those words. They were true.. at least to some degree, there was very very little Kevala was capable of doing to him that would be considered torture in his eyes.
Still, with her calling him out on it his grin was back, and there was almost a little fire in his eyes. Dear sister had always been quite good at detecting bullshit.. he liked that.
"I care because I am a father of course! A good father should care about his spawn..."
He paused brow raised, even doing a bit of a mock voice during all that before he continued once more,
"Wait.. thats not right. Hmm.. Curiosity dear sister. That sound more plausible?"
The second was far more likely with the ape of a man, and he would have stepped towards her once more, as if pushing at boundaries. Those hands did not leave the sight of the inside of suit pants pockets, however, so there was no worry there. He did catch the wedding band as well, not to say he was surprised given the length of his... absence.
It was only right she moved on with her life, Katsuri had never been the type to have any rhyme or reason for what he was doing in the first place. Kevala tended to be more focused.. if not chaotic in her actions.
