Mathew Amtrum sat alone in the park, his back pressed against the trunk of a tree that was already changing colors with the season change. The water of the small pond near by was still, and not so much as a duck swam in it. The park seemed to be lifeless, as far as animals were concerned. The only thing he had seen in the last hour was himself, and a couple of crows flying by earlier. Not that it mattered, he liked the peace and quiet, it gave him time to think, and to plan.
Bare feet clenched, feeling the ground under his skin as he scribbled some notes in to a small notepad. Possible assets to acquire, people to look up while he was back in the area, as well as likely locations of the real Leon. He had that narrowed down to three spots. Finally he wrote down a few possible ways to use the loyalty pledge of the God's that he had obtained. Along with a reminder to send the warrior he fought a basket of apples. He did well, he deserved a little something. And thankfully Mathew had a contact that had his apple orchard still intact after the bombings. It paid to have some connections for some of the simple things that people used to take for granted in life.
After all, when the world was in chaos would you rather have a stack of cash, or a roll of toilet paper?

Heavy boots pound on the dirt as a man approached, trenchcoat wavering in the smallest wind. Mathew had probably noticed but this man wasn't alone, three others lurked in the area though they stuck to shadows and hidden places to keep watch over the area. The man approaching halted a few feet away from Mathew, quietly staring for a moment.
"... why are you back here, Amtrum?"

"Looking for someone Kiyoshi."
He said casually. Making a few final notes in his notebook before sliding it in to an inner breast coat pocket and looking up at Kiyoshi.
"Why does it matter to you?"

Kiyoshi just stared at Mathew for awhile, debating what he thought of the answer.
"I've got enough loose threads to keep my eyes on without you stirring the pot."

He looked almost offended!
"What makes you think I would stir the pot?"

Kiyoshi just stared, hand resting on the hilt of his sword. He waited a long moment before speaking again.
"If you want a city, take another one."

Kiyoshi didn't flinch, in fact he sighed heavily.
"I'm not going to fight you... it's not worth it. The Crows and Dragons have had an understanding in the past due to Areon's position in both groups. If you insist on making this difficult, then we'll see which side the Dragons fall on when I bring my army to kill you."

Mathew laughed.
"That would be interesting indeed. But as I said, I'm here to look for someone. Personal business."
It would be interesting to see where the Dragons fell in. Probably on both sides depending on the Dragon. Such was life.
"But don't get me wrong. I like your spirit. Is there anything else you wanted to say? Or did you just want to say hello?"

"Just that. Don't go fucking up everything we've built because you miss Leon. I won't stand for it."
Kiyoshi turned to leave. The days of forging alliances were long gone. Frankly he didn't feel he could trust Mathew to follow in his attempts to retake the city and rebuild, as helpful and strong as the man might be.

"And if I do then you will throw an army at me?" He smirked. "Good to know."
He watched as Kiyoshi turned to leave.
"A little advice, coming up to me just to threaten me with an army gives off the impression you are scared. Threatening me makes me want to extend my visit on principle. Just a heads up for future encounters."
