Sweet friendship (Kyrie)

Rai had noticed that Kiyr had a thing for sweets and he realized that he hadn't actually spent a lot of time with her and decided that it was time to change that. So he decided with the knowledge of sweets he'd make a friendship offering. He didn't quite know what to get her but he figured he would find something.

He would go to every store he knew of trying to find the perfect peace offering, not just anything would do. He would ask every store owner for something special but none of them seemed to have what he was looking for...

Until it came down to the last store. This was his last chance to find the person with the right item, he walked into the store and looked around for a bit before a older woman approached him.

"Hello young sir, how may I help you today?"

Rai would look at her and think before speaking.

"I am looking for a particularly special treat. I'm looking for something for someone that I intend to make my friend but I don't know what to get her. I know she likes sweets but I don't know what kind I should get her, and I was wondering if you knew of something?"

The old lady smiled that mischievous smile old folks get when they have an idea in their head.

"Ah, so it is a girl's heart you seek?"

Rai's face turned red at this.

"Uh, no no ma'am thats not it no, I don't even really know her! I'm just trying to make sure we can have a friendship thats all..."

The old lady just chuckled and shuffled off. Rai began to follow her.

"Umm, miss?"

The lady continued walking but made a motion for Rai to follow her into the back of the store where it was strictly for employees. She fumbled around a few things before going to a back room and opening up a door and reached into it pulling out something Rai did not recognize.

"This is a strawberry parfait a treat that is a winner for anyone you should hand it too. Free of charge since its for a girl."

She winked at Rai and walked back into the store. Rai shook his head blushing again but just went back to Mathews house trying to see if he could locate Kiyr to give her his new found present.

Rai looked around the place but doubted he would have much success finding her if she was trying to stay hidden, she was good at those kinds of things. But a thought came to Rai's head and he would walk outside the house but stay in the yard so that he could be seen.

"Kiyr! If you are here I have something for you! An old lady told me it was a strawberry parfait and it looks like the sweets you like to eat. So, uh, if you would like it here I am."

Clever boy.

But it didn't work.

Perhaps she wasn't around?

Rai waited for a few minute's hoping that this would work but there was no response. He pondered for a moment before leaving Mathews house to look around Dragon territory in search of her.

Obviously Kyrie's writer likes to be a pain in the ass. She wasn't in the immediate area.

...but she could see him.

Rai had been searching for awhile now but still couldn't find her, but he could feel eyes on him, watching him, and unsettling feeling, but not one that would make him quiver in his boots, as they say.

"Kiyr?! Are you there? Hello?"

He knew better to expect an answer but he listened carefully, trying to hear something anything that might lead him to her.

Kiyr finally strode up behind him without a sound.

"Over here." She said, softly. Mildly curious.

Rai was caught off guard by her sudden speaking and went into an awkward defensive stance protecting not just himself but the Parfait he now held. But noticed it was Kiyr and felt like an idiot.

"Oh, uh, hi. I was looking for you because I got you something at the store today."

He would hold out the Parfait for Kiyr to inspect and take if she wished.

"The old woman I bought it from said it was a Strawberry Parfait and I knew you liked sweets so I figured that you might like it so I got it. Um, here you go."

A strawberry parfait..? Kyrie's eyes softened a little. She accepted the gift and looked down at it. The only unfortunate thing was...that parfaits were cold deserts.

...with Leon being taken out of the generator giving power to portions of the city...

It felt a little cool. Maybe she lucked out. so she dipped her finger in the center, gave a gentle swirl, and then poped her finger into her mouth, just the tip, as she hadn't taken much.

Oh dear. It was so sweet. Probably not the right temperature, but, the little bit she just had wouldn't kill her.

Her wide blue eyes went softer, still, and she gave her finger an innocent lick before shifting the parfait to that hand. Her shoulders relaxed, and she stepped forwards, one slow, swaying step, then another, and trailed her finger down the center of Rai's chest, in a light, skimming motion.

"Thank you, Rai. You are so...sweet. You have surprised me." A slight, but genuine smile was on her lips, and the one thing she thought about made her giggle softly.

Rai was glad that Kiyr had liked to gift and he didn't think that she was trying to play him this time so he relaxed and smiled as well.

"I know we haven't talked much but this was just my way of saying that, I know we are rivals trying to acheive the same goal under Mathew's teachers, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends as well. We've had a few rough patches and there have been times that I haven't been sure if you hated me or not so... Friends?"

He said offering a hand for Kiyr to shake should she accept.

Kyrie's hand dropped to her side, and she blinked owlishly at Rai.

'...so I was right. He is a virgin. What a sheltered little kid. He did not get any of that?'

After a few more slow blinks, she glanced down at the desert.

"You know...if you paid money for this, the desert is supposed to be cold. I would get sick if I ate more... But the gesture is admirable." She glanced to his hand. Friendship? With him? Unfortunately, he'd still be held farther than arms' length, because such a meager form of friendship that was going to be constantly overshadowed by their rivalry. She couldn't trust him as competition.

And her trust was harder to win than that.

But at least he meant well.

She finally smiled sweetly, shook his hand, and released it. "Friends."

'...well...'

"Well a nice old lady actually gave it to me and it was cold, but it probably got warm while I was looking for you, sorry about that."

Rai kinda shuffled his feet a little feeling as though he failed... But smiled when she agreed.

"I know you may not trust me but I swear on the honor of my family that I, in no way mean this as a way to manipulate you."

He would bow his head in respect.

The Honour of his Family...

When Rai bowed his head, he would receive a couple gentle pats on the back of his head.

"That will do."

Rai stood up straight again and smiled
"Well I guess you are busy so I will leave you to your business. If you ever want to talk, hang out, or if you need help with something I'm always around."

He'd smile and nod his head again and headed back towards Mathews house.
