Flames of Hell

[Kazuya Hikari]

Inside an abandoned, half-destroyed dojo, the sounds of martial art cries could be heard, followed by orange-yellow glows visible from the various holes in the walls from the occasional streams of fire. Kazuya was training, as usual. Dressed in just his black karate gi, his red headband, and white bandages wrapped around his hands, he was working on integrating and using his Qi more in conjunction with his attacks.

A thin layer of sweat visible on his upper body, he would fire two more streams of fire from his hands, the glow from the flames even more intense and visible for anyone that happened to pass by.

"Watthefuu--?!"

Aryn ducked beneath a stream of fire that shot out just in front of herself. She must have been in her own little world to not hear the sounds of training from the building she was skirting along.

What the freaking hell was fire doing there?!

She marched around to a place that she could easily see into, and was just about to yell, when--

"Holy shit he's literally playing with fire." Aryn stared.

Maybe this dude just became a Hero to her.

"Do want."

...the fire or him, Aryn? Seriously.

Firing another stream of flames from his hands, Kazuya would set the wooden dummy in front of him on fire, lighting up the dojo with natural lighting, casting shadows everywhere, including...

"...?"

Turning his head slightly to look behind him, he would engulf both his arms and legs in flames, not out of annoyance that he had been disturbed, but merely as a precaution. These days, with Barker still running the world and gang wars everywhere, you never could be too careful.

"You know I can see your shadow, you can come in."

He'd even point up at her shadow cast on the roof above him, which he had taken to repairing using the wood he managed to salvage from the dojo itself.

As Aryn wasn't in the least bit hiding, and bold as she was, she hopped straight into the gym, tilting her head this way...and that.

Of course, the grin might have made her look a bit crazy, but.

"I like the fire show. Mind doing a nice three-sixty for me, handsome?" She twirled her finger in the air to emphasize her point, her other arm crossed to support her elbow before she leaned her chin on the tips of her previously spinning digits.

Turning around fully to face the girl that hopped straight into the dojo, he was not in the least bit fazed by her tilting her head one way, then the other, all with a grin on her face, and would watch her twirl her finger in the air, before wordlessly moving a bit away from her.

The flames surrounding his arms and legs dying down, with a slight smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth, he'd quickly whirl around, doing a 360, while streams of fire issued from his outstretched hands, though he was far away enough that the flames would not hit her.

"Glad you like the show. What brings you out here, besides the impromptu fire display?"

Niiiiiiiiifty. Aryn let out an appreciative whistle.

"Yep. Do want." The question didn't surprise her. She shrugged, keeping her chin leaning on her fingers. "Doing a supply run before heading home. Meeting someone not too far away so I don't have to make an extra trip."

A smile curled her lips upwards, invitingly.

"You'd make things go even more quickly..." She flashed a grin. "I'd make it worth it. You could get a meal out of the deal...and maybe a bit more~"

"..."

Regarding her with a calm expression, less to do with her wanting something of his and more with coming to a decision, the slight smirk would return and tug at the corners of his mouth, before giving a casual shrug of his shoulders. It wasn't a hard decision, seriously.

"... Why not. I've got nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Lead the way. Kazuya Hikari."

'That was easy~'

Aryn's grin widened. Kazuya didn't know what he was in for. Already Aryn was scheming.

"Aryn Valcoph. Nice to nearly get singed by you. Awesome first meeting."

There didn't seem to be any sarcasm to her tone. She was laughing instead.

Easy perhaps, but that was only because Kazuya honestly had nothing to lose by going with her, not to mention he honestly didn't think he'd be sticking around long anyways. All he did in his free time was train and meditate. Seriously, who in their right mind would take over a half-destroyed, abandoned dojo that barely looked liveable?

"Nice to nearly singe you. I have to say that was the most interesting meeting I've ever had."

Moving over to a bench he had repaired, he would pick up his duffel bag, which had his spare clothes, as well as the rest of his gear, and pulling on his sleeveless karate jacket, overcoat, fingerless gloves, and shoes, he'd pick up his katana, which he had leaned up against the wall, and sling it onto his back, and would follow Aryn out of the dojo.

"I didn't think supplies were still around, not after the world got blown to kingdom come."

[Aryn Valcoph]

"Gotta know where to look and who to find~"

And Aryn could do that. It had been a painful process, sometimes, but she'd done it. And they were better off for it.

"Otherwise, it's up to good ol' scavenging."

She watched him grab his things, amused with her own little 'show', and casually hopped back out again. Who needed doors when you could just jump out through a hole in the wall?

[Kazuya Hikari]

"You don't say. I've spent most of my time wandering by myself, I've done nothing but scavenging the entire time."

Climbing out through the hole Aryn had hopped out through after grabbing all his belongings, he'd walk beside her, his duffel bag held over his left shoulder, the edges of his overcoat fluttering from a gentle breeze, exposing more of his already exposed upper torso.

"Aside from beating down the occasional gang member trying to take the supplies I need, the place I found not too far from the dojo has kept me going for the most part. I think a change of scenery isn't a bad idea."

[Aryn Valcoph]

...yum~

Aryn smirked.

"Well, you don't have the assets I do."

Point for Aryn. She jogged for about a block to make up for lost time. Well...what she could only assume to be half a block.

"What can I say? I use what I've got."

Holding his free hand up and shrugging his shoulders while shaking his head in mock exasperation, he'd smirk slightly back at Aryn. Point for Aryn indeed. He would simply take long strides, easily keeping up as she jogged for about a block, letting her lead the way to her supplier.

"I haven't run into any trouble ever since, not that I'm complaining."

...did you ever get the feeling you were being...watched?

Aryn stopped dead in her tracks and looked around with a glare.

"I wouldn't, either. Trouble's more hassle than it's worth."

All the time. It's why Kazuya was always on guard. Stopping beside Aryn, he would sling his duffel bag over his shoulder, leaving both his hands free.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?"
