Darkness without Light (Levi)

[Mr. Kaar]

Once again Leon was at his little makeshift training grounds, the maze having been reformed into a simple room with no roof. Leon would be waiting for Levi having sent Watari to bring him here.

Levi followed his new aquiantence, Watari, to where he had been told Leon was waiting for him. He had no idea what was in store for him, but if his previous encounters were any indication, He or someone else was going to wind up getting hurt.

Another test perhaps?

Levi's thoughs were interrupted as he approached Leon. He gave a respecful nod as he spoke.

"Master, what brings me here?"

[Mr. Kaar]

Leon would return the nod.

"Today we start the hard stuff."

Leon would say with a grin as he put his helmet on. He'd pull walk over to Levi with a headband.

"Put it on and cover your eyes, we... Well I am going to have some fun, you are going to survive."

Levi's eyebrow raised as he took the headband and put it on over his eyes. The only thing he could see now was his Master's Qi, perhaps it was a test of his senses? He was anxious to find out as he swallowed hard at his master's words, taking a ready position and keeping his senses sharp. Survival was relative with Leon, Levi was not looking forward to this.

"okay....ready when you are..."

Leon would stay still for a brief moment, before charging his Qi and spreading the lightning about the room, expanding his Qi to see if it would confuse Levi.

The only way to test that? Attack.

Leon would continue the discharge before throwing a right hail merry, right for Levi's face. Cause it was a face, it needed punching.

Levi sensed the spread of the lightning and his brow furrowed as he struggled to keep track of Leon's Qi signature. Leon was still the strongest Qi signature around, so Levi could tell where he was, but his ability to see him was impaired. As he adjusted his "sight" as he felt Leon approaching. Still unable to make out Leon's Qi, he leaped backwards as the punch came in hot, tossing his head to the side and sending him sliding several feet. He quickly picked himself up, his left cheekbone throbbing and Levi grateful he had been able to react at all. He could taste copper in his mouth as he spat blood onto the floor. Forming a shield of hardened light around himself, Levi coninued to focus on his "sight", as he became able to see Leon, but only as a brighter area of Qi.

Not good enough....I still can't tell what he's doing.

Leon stopped the electrical storm, waiting a few seconds before shooting a full power bolt of lighting to Levi's left, while bursting to his right. Both going past Levi close by, while using his free arm to elbow smash Levi in the side.

Levi's sight cleared up as Leon's figure came into view. Levi leaned to the right as the bolt passed his left side. His eye's widened as he felt Leon's approach.

"A distraction....nice"

Levi managed to tuck his right arm to his side, absorbing the brunt of the blow along with his shield, which shattered where Leon struck it. Again, he was sent several feet, though this time through the air. A wall stopped his flight as he crashed through it, the rest of his shield breaking away like glass. He rubbed his right arm as he stood up again, it wasn't broken, but he would be able to stop many more of those. He was sure that if it hadn't been for his shield, this fight would be going a lot like the first bout he and Leon had. He took a offensive stance and turned his face to Leon.

I will not just be a punching bag this time!

The Light Apprentice rushed his master at full speed as he reapplied his shield, a semi-translucent, white field covering his body once again. A bright flash of light burst from Levi's body in an attempt to blind Leon as he leaped through the air and silently came down with a hammer blow towards Leon's collarbone.

Leon's helmet's HUD lit up like an explosion went off in his face, causing satic to cross the field blindign him, using his own senses he felt Levi right on top of him, so he crossed his arms infront of him as the hammerfist came down, catching the blow on his forearm instead.

With Levi's momentum and weight though it turned him, as he sank into the earth slightly cratering it as Leon dropped his guard both arms low, before raising them both up and adding a small jump with a double uppercut, aimed for Levi's chest/head area.

Levi followed his hammerblow through, right into Leon's uppercut. His shield shattered as he was sent flying into the air as he blacked out. He reawoke on the ground. His body ached from the impact and he popped his jaw back into place as blood flowed freely from his mouth. As his consciousness stabilized, he stood up slowly. He spat out a mouthful of blood as he prepared to attack again.

"I think I've got one more go in me."

Levi's bright flash of light seemed to do the trick beofr,e and he needed every advantage he could get. He took a horse stance and began focusing his qi, the area around him turning darker as be manipulated the light around him, using what stamina he had left to make one last assault.

One clean hit...come on....

"Huuraaaagh!"

Levi shield took on a different form this time, it was three layers deep, each one about an inch apart and glowing brightly. He then released a second blinding flash as he dashed towards Leon at full speed, this was going to be an all out attack. He created small spheres of solid light and launched them at his target as he approached, hoping to distract Leon long enough to create some kind of opening. As he got within range, he sent his left out with a backhand aimed at Leon's face. As he turned with the backfist, he brought his right around for a vicious hook that also targeted the head. Continuing his rotation, he then threw a right round house to Leon's ribs and as he came around, a left hook kick to Leon's head.

Leon would remove the helmet this time, tossing it to the side, his smile wide with anticipation. He almost shuddered with the goose bumps working their magic on his shoulders and neck. He even powered down his Qi as he watched.

~Thats it! Thats the look, the one I enjoy so much!~

Leon almost laughed, but hid it away in his mind so as to not throw off Levi. Leon knew the next move would be everything Levi could muster. Leon wanted to watch every bit of it. Closing his eyes until the flash, his eyes would shoot open as the orbs slammed into him, his Qi had grown stronger since last time. Even blind Levi was aiming home as the backhand hit first, Leon's head turning a bit, usually he'd turn with it, but no, this was to see how far Levi had grown. Even the small stuff. The hook also caught him, as Levi continued his spin, the rotation increasing his momentum and damage output.

Leon caught the roundhouse to the midsection with his gut, not even flexing his stomach to lessen the blow, until finally the last kick hit him in the head hard enough to turn him completely around. Going to a knee Leon could taste the coppor in his mouth. The gloriouse pulsing of a forming bruise, oh yes that was a good hit. Leon would immediately go to full power, spinning around and standing into Levi, Leon's left hand going to latch onto his throat to force Levi to react where his right clawed hand would slam into Levi's stomach the fingers sliding between the prominent ab muscles within the abdominal wall, the palm hitting the solar plexus, as he gripped harder onto those ab muscles Leon would twist violantly, but not hard enough to rip them, but enough to let Levi know, the damage could of been much worse.

If all that worked Leon would let go of Levi's throat if he had hold of him and slam a final punch to Levi's forehead to render him unconcious.

Levi knew Leon had let his attack succeed, but that was fine, he had shown his master something he felt was worth taking. Levi was evaluated again, and he passed, again. His smile didn't even fade as his shields around his throat and stomach shattered as he was lifted into the air, and his abs began to scream in pain. Leon was proving how strong he was now, telling Levi that there was still a great deal of growth to do. He reinforced his shields with the last of his stamina as gravity took hold and Leon's punch came in, he wanted to stay awake this time.

*CRACK!*

Levi flew back into the wall he had collided with before, his body drained and his vision blurry. His consciousness faded for a moment and then returned. There was blood running down his forehead, but he was pretty sure he had escaped with no broken bones...that was certainly progress, but he would not stay awake this time....a goal for another time. He laughed as he passed out, finding it funny that he had come so far, but still had so farter to go.

"Next.....time...."

Leon would walk over a smile on his face as he hefted the boy onto his shoulder and take him to Lightning Tower.

"Indeed... Next time."

Leon liked the progress he was making, and the possability of him being even stronger next time. Leon was grinning ear to ear. Though he knew soon he'd have to retire and save his fighting for when its really needed, he knew things would be fine with all this strong individuals running around.

Once Levi woke he'd find himself at Lightning Tower's basement where Leon and Sam where working on something, ingraving a breast plate with words.

Levi woke up slowly, his body having recovered a good deal of its' stamina from the bright light he was under. He sat up slowly and hung his feet over the bench they had laid him on. He looked at Leon and and an old man he didn't recognize. He eyed the breastplate as he spoke, rubbing his forehead and tolerating a slight headache.

"Where am I and what is that?"

[Mr. Kaar]

Sam would nudge Leon who'd look to Levi.

"This is my new base of operations, I'm going to call it Lightning Tower. This is your final test under my training, the rest you will learn in time and experience."

Sam would nod and hand the Titan Breast Plate over to him.

"This was once called Titan, I now name it Truth. I give it to you as my final test."

If inspected inscribed on the chest would be: 'Sanwi Lupsoi Renoli'

"When you find the words and understand the meaning, you are free of my training."
