Orion Smith - Merchant.
I can just see him being everywhere at once, providing resources to the people who pay... it just seems like him.

I disagree with the post limit only for this reason 1 post 1400 words long is the same as 14 posts 100 words long. That being said you can just make up interactions with NPC's but this limits PC interaction.
Jack O'Connor - Professional Services. Specialty - Combative Scenarios
You need a job done but don't know who to go to? Ask and it shall be done a middle man of sorts. While a merchant buys and sells goods a prof service provider buys and sells services through contracting. Think KPMG or Deloitte.
Example - A customer wants to build a new building but does not know how go go about it they contact Jack who in turn makes all the arrangements needed. He makes arrangements with builders, security, bribes etc and delegates` duties of his own staff to oversee the project. There is a project manager who is in charge, security manager who ensures the security hired do their job.
Jack's role: Jack specializes in combat scenario's what does this mean? It means his set of skills acquired over years of intensive combat are perfect for any high risk scenario that needs to be overseen either from a safe zone or on the ground in the high risk red area.
Ultimately Jack's role is limited in what he does leaving the logistics to those better suited but he is one link in a much larger chain. To say he was just a security officer would be too little ... simply put he is a man who provides any service required of him if he can not accommodate that service he makes the arrangements so it can.

Fluff? Define fluff please. I assume these jobs are an excellent method of fleshing out your characterization. So like... would thought process and such be considered fluff?
Odd Jobs- Anything you need as long as the pay is adequate. Specialist in none but experienced in all (or so he claims)

I moddified my initial post to try and explain my own interpritation of fluff, other mods might have a different opinion, but I dont see thought process to be fluff as thats more character development. We dont need to know about the random flower that grows outside your work station because of the way the world ended up, we just want to know what your doing, how it works for you and such. Also jackThen make 14 posts in the same amount of time it takes you to make one 1400 word post?

Also jackThen make 14 posts in the same amount of time it takes you to make one 1400 word post? Yes Leon I understand that however limiting people to only a post a day isn't really needed now is it? Also why I don't think this is intended if I was a merchant I need customers I'm assuming that they're NPC's but what if I wanted to interact with a PC. Although again I think this is a good thing in that it will limit "fluff".

I will say you can enteract with a PC, but you will only get credit for a single post for that day.
And yes one post a day is needed. As a single post can potentially be worth alot of money. Esspecially for particular members who write alot and good. I also doubt Jack would be a merchant, it just wouldn't work out. Also we have attempted said style of jobs before and it fail'd. We tried a system where people could just role play and turn the thread in for extra cash. We tried a system where teams of players build actual items that can be put into the store for player purchase, but it failed, we tried a system where people go on a mission to accomplish a job, it failed.
This is the simplest form of any system I can come up with. Players do their own thing, for a simple benefit with limits so it wont be amazingly abused like many of the past things we have seen here. If I didn't limit people to one post a day and you made 14 posts in a single day with someone else and you just post whored fore two weeks your walking away with a retarded amount of money along with the other person.

Yes I agree with the other systems failing I just felt that this limited us to only doing our own thang which was intended . Very excited about this and yes Jack isn't a merchant he's a "Professional Service Provider"
