Talking the talk (Levi)

Rai had been pondering over the Dragon language ever since his run in with the 3 head Dragons. He needed someone to teach him how to speak it but Leon wasn't going to help and Mathew was too busy... Maybe one of the other Apprentices had learned it? It was Rai's only hope, he decided to start with Levi he seemed to be on top of things in their training exercises so maybe his training with Leon had opened him up to the Dragon Language. Or maybe not, but either way it was his best bet. He sent out a messenger in the same fashion that Levi always asked for them. He would have the meeting out in the same park where they had their first training session. Hopefully he did know the language, and if he did, hopefully he would be willing to teach Rai.

"You may go."

Levi dismissed the messenger as he stood up from the piano bench he had been sitting on and made his way outside. As he walked towards the park, he wondered why Rai was summoning him. More Training? Or something else? He gave a samll wave as he stepped through the fence, his hands in his pockets and a pleasant expression on his face. He stopped a few feet away from Rai before speaking softly.

"I got your message....what's up?"

Rai waved back at Levi as he was entering.

"Hey, I had a question for you. I've heard my uncle and master use the Dragon language before and I know it will be needed someday when my trails are complete to be a Dragon. So I was wondering if you happened to know how to speak the Dragon Language, and if so would you have any problems teaching me? It would be greatly appreciated, and I'll repay you for your time in any way you see fit."

Levi nodded with a small smile and put his hands in his pockets as he spoke.

"Certainly, traing one's mind is just as important as training the body. Especially given our situation, having Dragons that don't know our language could become a liability."

Levi sat down on the grass, his arms behind him to support his torso as he leaned back, making a gesture for Rai to sit down as well. He then began by introducing Rai to the alphabet and its relation to the english alphabet, after that he explained further.

"Understanding that is the key. After that, it's just a matter of transposing the letters and pronoucing the resulting word......it's just a matter of practice. I found it harder to understand Dragon spoken to me rather than speaking it myself.

Levi grinned.

"Ready to give it a shot?"

Rai nodded and made the hesitant statement.

"Oac? E drehg. Ruf ec drec?"

Rai made a face still trying to get use to the syllables. He looked at Levi try to see if he got it ok.

Levi smiled a nodded in approval.

"Kuut. Ed'c hud duu lusbmelydat uv y myhkiyka, pid fedruid ihtancdyhtehk dra luunacbuhtehk ymbrypad, E ryja y rynt desa pameajehk yhouha luimt talebran ed fedruid y mud uv ramb."

Levi paused to let Rai digest and translate the words before continuing.

"Luhdehia"

Rai was thankful for the pause but he thought he was getting a pretty good hold of it now. He just needed to focus on the pronunciation now.

"Ed ec y cdnyhka fyo du cbayg, E ys hud ica du draca cuihtc. Cbaygehk ed ec kuehk du pa ryntan dryh maynhehk ed, drydc vun cina."

Levi nodded in agreement, rai certainly had the basics down, the rest would come from practice. He stood up, feeling like the lesson was mostly over unless Rai required more instruction.

"Cu, tu oui vaam oui ryja y kuut knycb uh drec? Un fuimt oui mega du gaab bnyldelehk?"

Rai mouthed a few more syllables before speaking aloud.

"E drehg E'ja kud y ryhk uh ed huf. Dryhg oui ykyeh vun ouin ramb vneaht. E ys yd ouin canjela cruimt oui ajan ryja haat uv sa."

Rai bowed his head slightly in respect to the man who had helped him.
