APPEARANCE:
The girl is rather petite with a lean, athletic build. Lithe but muscular, like a big cat. Her ratty strawberry-blonde hair hangs in matted clumps all over her head and is so dirty that it appears brown. Her skin is similarly covered in various amounts of filth (a little ash here, a little moss there, lichen, mud, etc.,). One thing that stands out about her face is the bright yellow-ish green of her eyes as well as the tattoo of a vine of thorns that run from the corner of her right eye to her temple.
A few scars adorn her arms and torso, claw marks by the look of it. On her back is a sizable burn that stretches from the middle of her back and up to the right most part of her shoulder in a strip. Unkempt, filthy and foul smelling, she looks very much like what she is; a wildling.
STYLE OF DRESS: Whatever she can find. Scraps of cloth, animal skin. More often than not, she chooses not to wear clothing at all. Why should she need to? It is rare to encounter another one of her kind and she is far from accustomed to "social" norms. For example, she doesn't wear shoes.

PERSONALITY:
In almost every aspect of her nature, Thorn is very much like an animal. A predator of the solitary sort, she is patient, dignified, and undeniably fierce. Beholden to no one, she is outrageously independent and listens only to her instincts and what her surroundings tell her. That and her insatiable sense of curiosity. She has a fondness for shiny things, but she knows all to well of the dangers that lurk in this world and this has bred caution in her.
A survivalist first, Thorn looks out for herself. With little to no human interaction or 'friends' to speak of, she can come across as isolated and aloof. Fond of her privacy, she does NOT like being touched or having her space invaded. She likes it even less if you hurt her 'friends'. Some who have had the opportunity to be in her presence for more than an instant might describe her as "dangerous", "unfriendly", "wild" and "animalistic".
Given the right circumstances, though, she can be surprisingly gentle, even tender. It goes without saying that she has a huge soft spot for animals. And they seem to like her right back. When she is completely comfortable, she can also be very playful, even cuddly. But this is extremely rare and reserved only for those she trusts the most.

MENTALITY:

BELIEF:

ABILITIES:
[/size]- Hawk's eyes:
Able to see great distances with amazing attentiveness to detail. Finds it easier to see in the dark than most people normally would. This makes it easy for her to pick out things that others might not see or care to notice. - Animal Instinct:
Hyper aware of danger, usually before it occurs. This automatically triggers her fight or flight response. - Fleet of foot:
Though she is already quite fast, Thorn can almost double her speed when she runs on all fours. This allows for precision turning, a continuation of momentum when climbing or jumping from a dead run. But as the human body is not meant to run in such a manner, this can also tire her easily. - Mimic:
Once she hears a noise, she can imitate it perfectly. Her level of understanding, however, is limited to what she knows about the sound. She can imitate any animal call and seems to have a connection with animals, though this is because of her former life in the wild, where she came to understand what each call meant.STRENGTHS: - Trained Performer:
Out in the forests of the Rocky Mountains, Thorn had plenty of time to get figure out how to get over, under, through and around things with ease. What people of the modern world might call "parkour". Though she is adjusting to the urban jungle, she is slowly but surely getting the hang of it. - Fight or Flight:
Many situations in her past have lead Thorn to the point where the choice between fighting and fleeing were given to her. In most cases, such as being startled or ambushed, she is apt to flee. But if cornered or challenged for her territory or food, she will fight to the death. - Ambush Hunter:
She understands the methods of the hunt such as where to be and how long to be there. Etched in her heart are the various methods of stealth and ambush, how to break one away from the herd and take it down. She is also versed in how to skin, trap, snare and track prey.WEAKNESSES: - Lone wolf:
Her lack of communication with other people has severely hindered her emotional, psychological, intellectual and cognitive development. She is feral with very basic instincts: eat, sleep, hunt, run. As such, she is not what one would deem as "fit" for normal society on a mental level and thusly prefers to keep to herself. - Selectively mute (or, language incapable):
Thorn cannot speak a single word of English or any other human language. She can IMITATE the sounds, but to her, the words themselves have no meaning. This is one of the reasons she does not know (or recognize) that she has no name. It goes without saying that she is also illiterate.
- Naivety:
Says it all. Though she is wise to the ways of the ways of the wild, those same rules don't always apply in the human world. She can be quite gullible in the right situations and is easily led. Experience and time should cure her of this, though. - Poor hygiene:
Having rarely bathed, never brushed her hair (or teeth), or known how to properly take care of herself has greatly distanced herself from the humans she has encountered over the last year. The smell alone would knock you out.
LIKES:
- Shiny things
- Animals
- Water
- Quiet
- Forests
- Privacy
- FOOD
- Hunting
- Family (or the idea of it)
- Running
- Play
DISLIKES:
- People
- FIRE
- Loud noises
- Industrial areas
- Crowds
- Enclosed spaces
-
Being alone - Glass
- Soldiers
HOBBIES: Whittle. She is very basic in her needs and wants, but the one thing she does for fun (apart from finding and playing with animals) is whittling...weapons. Spears, knives, hatchets...

HISTORY:
The girl's life, oddly, began where it ought to have ended.
When the Great Rending took place --as the apocalypse is known in her disjointed mind--, she found herself lying face down in the forests of Nebraska while the area (and the shirt on her back) burned around her. She does not remember anything from before this point: not her name, where she was from, what she was doing, or even what language she knew. Whatever had happened to her had completely wiped the slate clean (although sometimes little things tend to jog her memory).
Apart from the burn and some less than severe gashes, the girl was unharmed. She staggered into the forest, where she treated her wounds as best she could and started for forage for food. For the first three days, she went hungry.
On the fourth day, she ate a few beetles she found climbing over a rotten log. On the fifth, some eggs out of a robin's nest. For a week after that, she subsisted on clover, moss and bugs. Then she found the cougar.
Near a rocky outcrop looking over a shallow valley, she spotted a large cat feasting on what looked to be a young fawn in a thicket. She watched for a while until the animal ate it's fill, then crept out of her hiding place when it left...and took a bite of the raw deer. Not finding it to her liking, she moved on. And became very, very sick from it. For two days she did nothing except hide herself away as her body tried to force the illness out of her system. For a month afterwards, she ate bugs and watched the herds of deer and the rabbits to find out which greens were good to eat. Eventually, she discovered fire and learned to make it.
Starting West and then South with the onset of winter, the girl traveled through the American wilderness, learning how to live from the life that surrounded her. How to hunt and skin an animal, how to tan it's hide and use it's bones as tools. What could kill you and what could heal you. The sounds of the land that surrounded her soon became her own. She learned to laugh with the gulls, to chatter with the squirrels, to sing with the birds and to bay with the wolves at the moon. She discovered how deer walk silently through the brush, how to ambush like a puma, fish like a heron. It wasn't long before she figured out how to snare, trap and butcher her kills. She thrived in this world of trees and moss and bugs, growing more accustomed to it each day.
Occasionally, she came across those of her kind. She usually watched them from a distance, noting how they walked on their back legs and spoke in a clipped, gibberish sound she had never heard before. She also observed that they were INCREDIBLY loud. And they were careless about where they laid their food and where they had set up camp (near a black bear's den, if the marked trees and scat were any indication). Thus, it was no surprise when the curious animal wandered out of it's home, drawn by the smells of cooking meat and the unfamiliar sounds. And it was no surprise that he disliked it when the humans accosted him, even less that he mauled the one nearest him out of fear. Disappointed in her kind, the girl turned her back on the scene and moved on.
Each time she came in contact with humans, they either feared her, wanted her for their own (for whatever reason), or found her a great curiosity. Always she went to them to discover who she was, why these strangers looked like her but didn't act like her. Always she wound up disappointed and, depending on the circumstance, either fled for her life or left quietly under the cover of night.
The thought that whatever it was they were lacking was because they were in her world, and not she in theirs. If she was going to learn anything about humans, it would have to be in their territory.
Now in Long Beach, California, the girl seeks not only a pack to call home...She seeks purpose.
INTRODUCTORY RP SAMPLE:
Upon a large chunk of thick rock that made up the human game trails that lined these lands was the girl, perched on a large jutting occurrence of this strange flat stone that stuck out of the ground like a tooth.
The sun was setting red against the skyline of strange, broken metal and stone trees looming in the distance. The girl bared her teeth, intimidated by the formidable structures. It scared her, the vast unknown that lay West. Already she missed the forests, her home. The journey through the desert hadn't been pleasant either; scorching hot in the day, freezing at night, with little cover and food.
She crawled backwards into the shelter of the overhang, feeling daunted. Perhaps leaving the comfort of the trees and land was a mistake. Part of her wanted to go home and forget about the humans: they were all the same, anyway.
she had already come this far. And she wanted to know more about who she was. She already knew everything she could about the deer, the wolves, the rabbits, birds, frogs, snakes...but she knew nothing about the humans.
For that reason alone, she was willing to brave the unfamiliar territory of her own kind. She wondered if they were the same as the ones she had encountered previously: stupid, unaware, LOUD...or if they would give her an insight into the pack she was supposed to belong to. If there was one that would even take her in.
She settled in the far back against the wall of her rather opportune shelter, curling up with feline familiarity in the dirt. The fur of the dead Great Horned male she found last winter was draped over her shoulders for warmth and tied loosely about her hips with a few braided strands of grass. It didn't completely cover her body, but that mattered little to her; the fur was practical in the night time for warmth. In the day, her own skin was much more comfortable. It made her wonder why the humans she met always wore furs...unless they were mating anyway.
Still glaring at the fading light of the sun, disconcerted but determined to achieve her goal, sleep gradually stole over the girl without a name, something she was sure she would need.
Tomorrow, she sought her purpose.

QI ABILITY:
This Qi allows Thorn to directly communicate with animals, resulting in a complete understanding of each other. This is a passive Qi and does not require activation.
Her activated ability (costs -15 Charisma each time) allows her to change shape into any animal she chooses, once per thread. Her stats remain the same, but her overall form changes to allow for whatever her needs are at the time.
QI STRENGTHS:
Passive : This unique ability allows Thorn to glean information of her animal friends, or even ask them to assist in combat. Animals she has had contact with and had made friends with are more likely to be of help to her if they are around.
Active : She can become any animal she chooses. That pretty much speaks for itself.
QI WEAKNESSES:
Passive : Her "talking" to an aggressive or protective animal may result in a backfire and cause the animal to attack.
Active : --She can only turn into an animal she has both seen and "spoken" to (requirements: one full post no less than 500 words in a character development thread to find and speak with said animal). Her stats also do not adjust to that of the animals, only her weight and size, thus limiting her capacity to change into multiple creatures. Her colouring also makes her stand out among the other animals as her hair (strawberry blonde) is reflected in her acquired fur, skin, or coat.

DESCRIPTION OF THE STYLE:
Currently, Thorn's fighting style consists of her fleeing at the first sign of danger or lashing out with surprising ferocity when cornered. This style lacks finesse and is based soley on her experiences within the wild.
