He laughed in a loud obnoxious manner, not a care in the world. Jack would continue to laugh as he heard the cries for mercy from his captives. Looking straight ahead at the several men he was contracted to kill, "How much are your lives worth?" Jack mused "Do you want to know how much I was paid to kill you?" he enjoyed playing with his food, he wanted to try it his new weapon the one Phoenix had made for him. He could picture it now their brains scattered all over the floor.
One man had given up he dropped to his knees and begged Jack, sliding along the floor, his hands bound but his feet left. "Please... I'll give you anything! I'll double, no triple what they're paying you just name it and I'll give it to you!" a grin broke across his face as he stared at the fat merchant. "You, Stefan Calzoni" the man looked up "You have a daughter no?" Jack took enjoyment out of watching the man's expression as it changed. "I'll tell you what, pay me three times as much as I was paid to kill you today and I will spare two of you today one will be picked at random to die."
Snapping his fingers Conrad came forward a pen and paper in hand. The men wrote down their pledge of money for an undisclosed sum and then moved on off. Laughing jack ordered them to be bound up and then exited the room to an adjacent building.
The captives were hardly kept inside a medieval dungeon or even a police grade cell but it was a cellar with one way in and one way out. An abandoned home that no one would ever both to look for him in.
Finally several people back back with large sums of money, laughing Jack ordered one bag to be dived among his helpers then and there. After the men counted their fortunes Jack grinned and stood to his feet "Right lets get going" he moved down into the cell accompanied by three men, with one more at the bottom with a key.
When they were not being interrogated they were chained up and this is how Jack found them. "Bag them and make sure your cuffs are secure!" black bags were pulled over their heads and secured at the bottom.
They walked for fifteen minutes until they were on the outskirts of the neutral territory. A few more minutes they would be in gang territory somewhere Jack did not want to be.
By the time they arrived at their location the sun was already beginning to set, oh how quickly time moves Jack mused as he ordered them to stop. "Take a knee lads" simultaneously his men kicked the back of their knees so they fell to the concrete floor and removed their hoods. "One of you will die, two of you will survive for today. Maybe you'll escape me a second time but the price to live to see a third day will be more than it was to see the second." He unhooked his flail and pressed a button, the silver colored metal chain oozed out of the handle and ball before it slammed into the ground, growing in size. The black metal was sinister, filled with pure evil and contempt for this world.
"Now, which one dies I wonder..." he looked at them all and one by one he pointed the handle of his flail at them, before settling on Stefan Calzoni. "Maybe you should have included your daughter after all... but it's okay I understand it must be hard to leave your daughter in my care. Don't be afraid she won't be with me for long I'll send her to join you soon".
The man cried out begging Jack for mercy, the other two looked at each other they were actually happy, happy to live. As Jack brought his flail up he yelled "See the darkness!" and swung it down with his full weight only he wasn't swinging for Stefan the man next to him the one that was smiling. The loud, wet sound of metal meeting bone and brains filling onto the pavement echoed around them. The familiar chuckle erupted from him as he observed his handiwork. "Gentlemen I'll be seeing you all very soon". The chain snaked it's way back to him, folding in on itself as if it were a real snake.
