He breathed in that little groan of hers with the faintly sweet taste of decay on her breath. Oh, she was shaking. Cain closed his eyes and grinned onto her lips, then pulled away slightly at the sultry vibration of her voice so close. After she spoke his eyes would open again, bringing the embers of his lustful glare back to life for a moment, wordless.
Cain slowly leaned away from the girl without a word and let go of her hand to jam the key in the ignition; the still-warm blood from his kill would stain her hand and the seat, the steering wheel, the brakes, getting everywhere. He didn't seem to mind the mess at all. The blood-and-brains-soaked sole of his boot thrust down on the gas pedal and the car dashed forward, made a sharp U-turn, and rumbled audaciously back the way they had come…
…And promptly back to the place where it all started.
Cain left the car hidden in darkness and sauntered toward the door of the pawn shop, and turned his head a little just to give Delilah a coy sidelong glance from the corner of his eyes.

She sat back into the seat as they drove, staring forward most of the time...though occasionally, her eyes flickered to the side of his face in the dark, studying him. A quiet leer formed on her lips. Her teeth nipped at where his had found her lips. A tingle crawled up her thighs and she crossed them in anticipation.
She didn't mind the mess. If anything it made it a little more exciting in a morbid sort of way. An odd sensation, but not an unpleasant one. It just...suited him. Them. The blood was beginning to dry on her hands as well, dusting off her hands in their crumbly wake.
It wasn't a long wait before they arrived...at the pawnshop. She almost laughed at the ironically sentimental air of it, sliding her eyes towards Cain's to match his looked with an amused one of her own. She would walk to the door, pulling a little paper clip out of her pocket, unbending it and reaching it under the lip of the door. It would only take her a second to find the bottom latch that rooted the door in place before it popped open with a hiss.
Standing again, she would turn to face him with an ardent look in her eyes. Slowly, she would walk backwards into the dark of the room, sultry grin beckoning up at him.
Waiting~

Cain lifted his brow in amusement at this girl's antics, and lifted his hand, offering it to her so she could pull him along after her into the dark. He pushed the door closed behind them with the heel of his boot and followed her with slow, measured steps as if he were in no hurry at all… although they both knew otherwise. Eyes red and hot as fresh blood flickered faintly in the shadows. The man would follow after her as far as she lead him through the room and, if she'd taken his hand, slowly pull hers back toward him and bring it around his waist and to the small of his back. That way she'd have no choice but to stand chest-to-chest with him, no matter that she didn't seem eager to protest.

Delilah would take his hand, hooking the tips of his long fingers with hers, drawing him in and not at all minding the blood on his fingertips. The door closed with a loud click and she drew him back, deeper into the shop of forgotten things. Stepping around a clawfoot lamp. Over an automan,. Past the chair they had slept in weeks and weeks ago. She couldn't see it as her eyes were connected to his flickering red gaze, but there ought to be an uncomfortable looking couch in there somewhere.
Ah well. They might find it, they might not.
As she stopped, she let herself be drawn in by Cain, arm looping around his waist to his lower back. Bodies pressed together now (Mmm, so warm...) rose up on her tip toes, her other hand trailing up his chest with feather light touches to his collarbone. Tugging the collar of his shirt down a little, Delilah lightly kissed his collarbone, travelling up to his neck. Kiss. kiss. Kiss.
BITE.
Teeth sinking into the meaty flesh between his neck and shoulder, clinging for a moment before pulling back a little, smiling as she looked up at him for his reaction before returning to the task at hand. Kiss. Kiss. BITE..
"I have a proposition for you," she murmured softly against his throat.

Cain pressed his other hand against the small of Delilah's back as she nuzzled her lips to his neck, his eyes closing with a pleased smile haunting the corners of his mouth. He turned his face toward the top of her head and breathed deeply as her teeth sank into his neck. Oh, that was nice.
"Oh yeah?" he breathed into the warmth of her hair as his hand slipped away from hers and moved over to her hip to give it an ambitious squeeze. The tips of his fingers crept under the hem of her shirt and traced curiously against the warm skin beneath.

"Mmm," she breathed, grinning into his neck as his hands teased her. She bit down again, rose up a little higher and trailed kisses up to his ear, continuing her ministrations there. Her hand at the small of his back slipped under his shirt and down a bit, the tips of her fingers just barely slipping past the waistband of his jeans. The other would be tracing the lines of his toned chest over his shirt. Hot breath pressed against his ear.
"You can do whatever you like to me--," pointed emphasis. Kiss. "--Or whatever you want me to do you--," Bite, on the rim of his ear; just a graze, given his height. "...OR whatever I want to do to you," a hint of mischief there, "For as long as you like. Whenever you like~...
...If you stop 'hurting' people,"
Hurting in the sense of what he did to those men and boys that wandered through his apartment, of course. She couldn't change his nature or that innate cruelty she was becoming fond of. She didn't want to control him, or to stop him from having consensual relations from other people. All she wanted to do, or offer at the very least, was to redirect the storm-cloud of hellfire and blood that was Cain Perrish.
Offering herself in the place of his victims.
Bite.A gratified sigh and a small...almost hopeful smile. She was too intoxicated with him to almost be thinking of anything else. And he could refuse if he wanted. It didn't change her feelings.
"How does that sound?"

Quiet amusement rumbled in the man's chest, barely audible, but she'd feel it with her hand on his chest. For a few moments he didn't respond and just kept his hand sliding up along her waist beneath her shirt… Considering?
"Sure, doll," he lied, easily, just telling her what she wanted to hear. His eyes opened narrowly to give her a conceding look and a small smile that could have been sincere. Beneath it, though, something inside of him continued to laugh at the fate of promises made to be broken.
The hand that had pressed into the small of her back trailed up to lift the girl's chin on the crook of his finger. He stared hard into those wanting blue eyes and could hardly resist shaking his head at such a silly, silly request. But he didn't. He urged her chin up to meet her lips with his instead, a kiss rather than a bite this time, sealing the deal.~

Honestly, she was very surprised to hear him agree so quickly. She forced her eyebrow not to lift questioningly; the look in his eyes was answer enough...almost. Something about the careful way he smiled and how he gazed at her through half-lidded eyes struck her as off...but for now, as he lifted her chin, she simply made a note of it and pushed it to the back of her mind.
And it was a good thing she did, because she might have forgotten in the wake of that kiss.
She pressed her body closer to his as the kiss deepened, almost insistent. The piercing on the indent of his lip jabbed at her pleasantly. One hand trailed down a little further, the other sliding up under his shirt to his pecs. Tugging lightly on that nipple ring again.
The lie didn't matter at the moment. She knew enough about him now to fully understand he was not a good person.
But, perhaps, he could be persuaded~.
She dropped her heels, pulling him away from the kiss, guiding him with her where her hands touched him to the couch behind her, feeling for it with her foot. Smiling devilishly up into the blood-red eyes.

Not even a retort? Cain mirrored her skeptical look with a hardly convincing smile. She had either believed him or she just didn't care, and Cain found himself almost hoping that the latter was true even though he couldn't think of a reason why it should have made any difference.
…BUT THAT WAS ALL IRRELEVANT, because this girl was sliding her hands up his shirt and giving him bedroom eyes and this was definitely finally happening. Oh yeah, he hadn't forgotten about the last time they were here, though normally he'd have forgotten all about her by now; something just wouldn't let up.
It was the intense internal conflict that bristled from her, the so-wrong-but-so-right sort of sigh that she breathed as she took the first step toward him back at the sunset alleyway, that valiant little effort she made to keep him from hurting people, as if any amount of good she could do would keep her from being as bad as she was in the sultry way she looked at him. It was the feeling of her succumbing and desiring, not just him, but maybe something else… something they seemed to have in common. Cain had no way of knowing why she was doing what she did, whether she sought some sort of strange comfort or redemption or punishment, or if she was just like him and wanted to have a good time and then some; he didn't care. He didn't care why she kissed him as long as she kissed him. He didn't care where she pulled him as long as she pulled him after her, onto her, onto that couch. He didn't care if her wings were turning black, smoldering and burning away, leaving only scars of the girl that perhaps at one time would have known better than to let something so dark creep into her.
The front of Cain's shin brushed against the front of the couch and he bent his knee smoothly onto the cushion and he leaned his body toward Delilah's down onto the couch, growling a little as he reached for her lip with his hungry teeth.

Some undetermined time later, though to Delilah, the deep dark of the night seemed to her like the witching hour, the sweat slicked pair would lay together on the couch. Her face nuzzled into the crook of his neck, her leg twined through his, she would lay with him, thinking...and thinking. And thinking.
Part of her hated herself. A lot and for too many reasons. Far too many to justify fully what she had just done. The attempt to redirect Cain's...vices was a foolish one at best. But she had to try. Why, though? Why would she put herself at such risk? Undoubtedly, part of it was wanting to replace his victims with herself...which was arrogant. Another part, as she realized it, was selfishness. She couldn't let go of that need to justify herself and her actions. She knew she was wrong. She knew it was bad, awful, horrid.
So, why did that matter so little to her?
Why was it so DAMN good?
It occurred to her almost immediately; there was no judgement from Cain. Not an ounce. He couldn't care less about what she thought or did (so to speak~), who she was in regards to Crows, as a person in general. His reasons might be selfish for that, but she couldn't really expect anything less. Her desire hadn't been to change his nature; only redirect it. But now, she felt ensnared. Had been since she had laid eyes on him again and he refused to fight her (which was still very confusing). He was a bad person, the worst sort. The kind she usually killed. He had...tainted her somehow. No, that wasn't right; she had made her own choices. She had allowed herself to become tainted by him.
As she lay there, breathing in his warm, heady scent, she found herself sighing in contentment in spite of these thoughts. Partially dismayed by this, a thought came unbidden to her mind;
"Because he is totally honest with himself at all levels of introspection, the ninja can venture into the realm of falsehood and untruth without defiling himself or his spirit. He can willingly plunge into cold darkness, knowing full well that he has the power to create his own light from the brightness he carries in his heart."
She grimaced inwardly to herself. This she must do. She must endure. Maybe she could retain her light while submerged in the darkness. Maybe not. But whatever happened whatever became of her, of them, this would be, perhaps, the greatest test of her character.
Delilah would tilt her head up too look at his angular features in the dark, smiling with a weird combination of dreaminess and wickedness.
"Not bad~."

Nothing wrong
In tranquil contrast to the earlier events of the evening that had begot such a situation as this, an almost unprecedented calm was borne in the darkness surrounding the boy and the girl lying on the couch. Cain's index finger traced slow, deliberate spirals into the soft skin just below the left bit of Delilah's collar bone. He said nothing, comfortable in the silence with his eyelids shut lightly over smoking embers of crimson eyes, perhaps even a little distant if not for the literal proximity of their bodies; so close that one could feel the other's breath gently fading in and out of the lungs within their bare chests.
As she lifted her head, Cain's eyes slowly opened to look at Delilah with a calmly narrowed ruby gaze. The corners of his mouth crept into a languid sort of half-grin at her remark.
"I'm the best.~" he prided, perfectly aware of his own dauntless, shameless ego. He could have retorted with something along the lines of 'not bad yourself' but he had a feeling she already knew that as well as he did. Besides, there had already been plenty of ego stroking for the both of them…
A deep breath pressed Cain's chest upward and he stretched out a little with his eyes closed again, before relaxing into a contented sigh. His gaze meandered down to her body and his with not much of an expression to betray whatever thoughts might have occurred to him in that moment.
"We should hang out more often." he said, straightforward yet vague as usual.

She floated upwards a bit as he inhaled, long black hair drifting across his bare chest. Her eyes slipped down to his tattoo. Trailing her fingers slowly up his torso, she began tracing out the letters sketched just beneath his collarbone. Her lips twisted in a wry smirk at his suggestion.
"That's the idea."
Not letting her little 'suggestion' go so easily. But not outright bringing it up either. Why ruin such a good moment...
Delilah cocked her head slightly to the side, tracing the letters of the tattoo back the other way. It was interesting how relatively scar free he was. she was almost jealous.
Almost.
"Why'd you get this one, hmmm? Apart from the obvious~," grinning at the not so subtle implications.

"Nothin' apart from the obvious, doll." Cain smirked, throwing the same suggestive look right back at her. His hand slid from her chest to his, over her hand, almost completely eclipsing it. He gave it a squeeze, not quite tender but almost greedy. Then he let go and slid his palm up to swipe the dampened shock of black hair away from his forehead.
The man yawned nonchalantly, flicked his gaze into the more distant darkness of the room, and peered past the caged windows. It must have been pretty late, as the moonlight had waned and sunk behind the cityscape somewhere out of sight, leaving the street outside in deeper darkness than Cain recalled; he hadn't really been paying attention to the time at all. The actual time didn't matter anyhow, but the man still hadn't decided whether he preferred to spend the night here or in his actual bed. Whatever.
His thoughts had already drifted back, and he found himself grinning with just a smidge of coy mischief as he turned his gaze back to Delilah-- just remembering how the day had begun, after all.
"So ya don't hate me, I gather." he teased, raising his brow a little at the woman who, just hours prior, seemed caught between wanting to kill him versus wanting to kiss him.

The timing of him clutching at her hand and how his gaze matched hers sent a burst of chilly warmth radiating from the area. It felt...possessive, insistent, demanding. Again, against her better judgment, Delilah found herself liking it. Looking into the red coals smouldering just beneath his brows, she let a wry grin pull at her lips.
Damn. Either he was very good at manipulating her or she was a little to alright with being pulled along. She wanted to hate herself...but again, that part of her, the part that liked it, liked him made her think twice. That what she was doing was for the better.
On what terms though, she had yet to decide.
He returned his gaze to hers, and, as if echoing her own thoughts, asked his question. The smile trickled away as she addressed the question in her mind, eyes drifting away from his and to the side.
"...No," she said after a moment of contemplation. "--and yes."
Still deliciously conflicted, she discovered. Blue eyes, cold in contrast with the warm crimson of his own, moved back to his face with a studious air.
"I can't make heads nor tails of you. I know 'what' you are; that bit I'm not rather fond of, as you may have guessed," eyes drifted down to his upper lip that she had coated in his blood in the late afternoon of yesterday. Her teeth found her bottom lip and then her eyes returned to his. The fingers that had been tracing his tattoo looped back around, trailing up his collarbone, along the path of his jugular vein, and along his jaw."But who you are..." she laughed quietly, with poignancy given her current position in relation to his, using the tip of her finger to pull the end of his chin gently forward as she pushed her face a little closer to his.
"I very much like the 'who'...which is amplified by certain skill sets, I might add."
Her hand moved away from his chin, trailing back up his jaw along the other side to the healing cut on the shaven side of his head. With her thumb, she lifted part of the scab. Bringing her head alongside his, she licked the minor wound with the tip of her tongue, tasting the clear, metallic flavour of his blood.
Why did he have to be so intoxicating?
"So, we're similar...and opposite," she would speak softly into his ear, almost hissing. "I don't mind a few drops of ink on a white cloth. Adds character.
"But you might wind up smeared with a bit of white yourself."
Bite~.

Cain listened with one brow raised in a curious manner, and as Delilah returned her gaze to him it would be obvious that he still enjoyed the little personal conflict that quietly raged in her. He didn't speak a word until she'd finished but she'd find his hands sliding gently along her shoulders and the back of her neck as she moved closer. The corner of his lip twisted upward when her teeth nipped at his ear.
"Huh, impossible…" Cain chuckled into her hair with a slight grin, with true faith that she nor anyone could ever change him; there were only the disease and the infected, one corrupting the other, parasitic… like a leech.
He wanted to tell her something cliché, that if she really knew him, she would hate him even more. But unspoken and unknown even to the man himself, it may have been that if she really knew him she might hate him less. Only silence followed and Cain curled his long fingers into the dark hair at the base of Delilah's skull, his warm palm cupping her neck. A calm smile lingered on his face and his eyes were closed. He'd easily decided where he would rather sleep for the night. There was something irresistible about her still hating him, even just a little bit; a delightful sort of dissonance.
"You liiike me," he teased with a very, very quiet whisper.
