Chasing the Dragon (Dragons/Open)

Leon would nod, contemplating for a few minutes. Spike would run up to him however and climb up to his ear to whisper. Leon;s face would light up rather liking the idea.

"Very well, if you fight Spike and can make him bleed, then you will join my group and the Dragon Corps. I'll even give you something of a treat."

"Alright then. Let's do this Spike."

Stepping back, putting some distance between himself and Spike, Daniel would pull his overcoat off and set it off to the side, his backpack placed on top, and would take up a simple stance, his hands held loosely and flat in front of his face and torso. No overcoat, Daniel was going to fight Spike with only his wits and guile, nothing else.

Spike would unwrap his right arm of bandages revealing a slightly burned looking arm, putting the wraps down in a heap Spike would remove his jacket as well.

"Kay!"

Spike's face would light up in anticipation before launching himself forward at full speed getting to right in front of Daniel before doing a backflip aiming a trailed right foot for his chin, following completely through with the backflip he'd slam to the ground on his butt shooting both feet out in a kick for Daniels legs before lifting his knees up where Daniels face would be landing.

Daniel had to admit, for a ten year old, Spike was a fast muthaf**ka. As the right foot came for him during the backflip, Daniel would take a step back, the tip of Spike's foot brushing the very end of his chin. The moment he landed on his butt and both feet shot out for a kick, Daniel had taken off and would try to vault over him using the bottom of his feet as a springboard.

If Daniel managed to successfully vault over Spike, he'd quickly launch a vicious downward elbow strike for Spike's head the moment he landed, to try and slam the pointed edge of his elbow straight into the top of Spike's head.

Spike watched the guy jump up, and come down with the elbow, Spike would do a sit up pushing with his hands from the ground to headbutt the now downward coming elbow, a huge grin still on his face at this.

Seeing the grin on Spike's face, Daniel couldn't help but have a big 'ol grin on his face too. Instead of trying to adjust his trajectory at the last minute, which he couldn't do anyways, placing his other hand on top of his hand of the elbow he was striking with, would push against the fist, to place a bit more speed and power behind the strike as it collided with the top of Spike's head.

Well that was going to hurt in the morning... or evening. But hopefully Spike was hurting and disoriented to boot too. Ignoring the pain in his elbow, Daniel would snap his left leg out and try to kick Spike upside the head.

Spike would indeed, but he knew when to curl from training, and he curled an arm up into a blocking mass next to his head as he spun and was thrown to the side, rolling and pushing up on his front he would be on his hands and left hand as he stood, rubbing the cut on his forehead.

Spike would salute with a fist over his heart and a small bow as he walked off to collect his gear.

Leon would look up with a smile.

"Good show. Well then, lets see what you can do in the corps. Welcome to Lightning country."

Seeing Spike thrown to the side from the kick after blocking with his arm, Daniel would take up a defensive stance, facing the young Sudeki as he rolled and pushed himself up to stand, a cut on his forehead. Slowly relaxing at the salute and small bow, Daniel would return the gesture with a salute back, his fist over his heart and a small bow, turning to Leon soon after.

"Thank you, I'll do my best to not let you down."

As Daniel collected his equipment and pulled his overcoat on, he remembered Leon had said he would give him something of a treat, and would turn to the Blind King.

"You said you would give me something of a treat if I made Spike bleed. What is this treat you spoke of?"

Leon had wondered if he would remember or not. Turning to his side and holding out a hand a small orange fruit would be dropped into his hand, and soon after tossed to Daniel.

"This I give you, the choice to eat is yours. We call it Gamble Fruit. It will help you in many ways, but."

Leon pointed at his eyes.

"It can damage in others. Its all a gamble."

Catching the small orange fruit that was thrown to him with one hand, Daniel would look it over before looking up at Leon, a small frown crossing his face, not from the warning that both good and bad effects could happen, but from what the Gamble Fruit took away from The Lightning Dragon, his sight.

"Life in itself is a gamble. Very few made it by playing safe. Whatever happens, happens... That's all."

With no hesitation, no regrets, Daniel would take a bite of the fruit.

Daniel finishes the fruit faster than he ever expected, and before he knew it, the fruit was gone and he was looking at his empty hand. It was amazingly delicious indeed!

Immediately the effects from the fruit kick in, he could detect those in the Lightning Tower, immediately understanding some were stronger than him, but others weaker, but he could not sense Leon, even though he was sitting right in front of Daniel.

"Incredible... I can sense those that are stronger or weaker than me... But I cannot sense you Master Leon."
