Pain.
She inhaled sharply as Mathew's stone spike embedded itself in her shoulder. It seared her with cold fire...and only made her anger burn that much brighter.
Snarling, she lifted a hand to grip the spike on her shoulder and lashed out with the other, her Qi concentrating along the entire arm. The tips of her fingers would grow long, hard needle like protrusions of metal as she made to slash at his face.

As her hand grabbed the spike it would split in the middle to try and dig through the metal and in to her flesh where it would start to spiderweb in to her nerves and up her arm. More stone being pulled from the ground at his feet as needed. At the same time the spike embedded in her shoulder would also start to spiderweb.
Digging and drilling their way through her body, heedless of where they tore through. Mathew himself just stood there, not so much as blinking as he worked his stone to it's cruel task. Should she manage to work through the stone and still slash at his face he would do nothing to avoid it. He was making a point.

Delilah screamed.
Wrenching her hand away from the spike (with another ragged scream tearing through her throat as the stone ground against her metal hand), Delilah would attempt to force herself back and away from Mathew as the stone worked it's way through her metal arm, bringing unimaginable levels of pain that would almost make madness seem like bliss. She barely noticed the fact that her claws had cut into the side of his face.

And it stung. He was keenly aware of the tearing of flesh and the warm trickle of blood already oozing out of his fresh wounds. He let out a snarl as the stone in her shoulder hooked itself to become barbed as she ripped her other palm free.
"Tell me again how strong you are."
His right foot kicked at the ground to send a spike flying right for her left thigh. Should it hit that too would twist and barb itself.

Another wordless cry of pain as the stone ripped through her shoulder, tearing through muscle and skin as it left her body. The stone would drop from shaking hands with a loud thud as it hit the ground. Instinctively, some of her Qi moved to the injured area to recreate muscle and the precious flow of blood between newly torn arteries.
More screaming as another shard of barbed stone shot into her thigh, collapsing her leg. She glared hatefully up at Mathew, hissing through clenched teeth as she fought to control her agony. With a small whimper, Delilah reached up and ripped the stone from her leg (the muscles in her face convulsing with the effort just to not scream). Shakily, she managed to stand as another part of her Qi moved to cover the new, substantial wound, and she threw the stone spike down at his feet.
"I. AM. STRONG!!"

"You will kneel."
He said simply. He resisted the urge to reach up and touch the blood that was still dripping from the slashes across his face. They would probably scar if he didn't take a candy. And if this was the worst he got he didn't see the need to waste one of them. They were scars, it was nothing to be ashamed of.
More stone moved up his leg, and both hands would stretch out, spikes shooting from both of them, going for both of her shoulders this time. Should they land they would start to barb and worm their way deeper as Mathew pulled down on them in an attempt to bring her to her knees.

Mathew stretched out both his hands and Delilah felt the compulsion to move. But as battered as her body was, for some unfathomable reason, she could do nothing to prevent the spikes from ramming into her shoulders, one virtually in the same spot as the first one that had pierced her flesh.
Her mouth opened, but no sound came out; white hot flashes of the horrendous sensation of her skin and muscle being torn asunder. The pain alone made her legs buckle, and, with Mathew's prompting, she took a knee, bloody, shredded hands splayed out on the asphalt before her.
kneel
kneel
Kneel
Kneel
KNEEL
KNEEL
KNEEL
KNEEL--
Kneel?
Delilah's body began to shake violently as she gasped for breath, trying to find a shred of thought through the endless pain her body was going through. Slowly, her head would lift to look Mathew in the eye.
"Not for YOU..." she hissed through gritted teeth.
She forced her legs to propell herself backwards and away from the spikes, hitting the ground with her back before rolling up into a crouch. She fought against her own body, forcing herself to stand on her two, trembling legs.
The pain cleared her mind; she took stock. Injured shoulders made her arms all but useless. Injured leg was most debilitating. Her Qi couldn't cover all these wounds; she was suffering from blood loss.
But her eyes were bright and focused. Pale skin ran red and silver with the odd mix of her blood and Qi.
A entirely unamused grin split across her face and she laughed at him, quietly.
"I...have no m-master. I kneel fuh-for no man.
I..I am an equal."

"Equal? You want to be an equal? Alright, then I will take off the kid gloves."
Mathew shrugged and the stone spikes touching him turned to dust. Harmless dust falling to the ground. Letting out a long sigh he slid his coat off of his shoulders giving Delilah a small shake of his head.
"You are really not ready for this."
Because he really didn't think she was. Especially in this state. But she asked for it! Once the coat hit the ground Mathew rushed forward at Delilah. No tricks, no maneuvers, just pure speed. Leaping at the last moment as he lifted his knee so that if she didn't react it would slam in to her stomach at full force.

It happened with liquid fast speed that she almost couldn't keep up with. And in comparison, she was slow as molasses.
By the time she was sure what he would do, it was far too late to move. All she could do was grin at him, ready to take the blow, certain that she could last another few hits before succumbing.
She was wrong.
The momentum of his knee strike slammed full force into her exposed stomach; she barely had enough sense to let her Qi slide over her abdomen and away from her wounds, protecting her organs all the way through. Still, she was jarred and sent flying, hitting the ground at a slide a few dozen yards away from the point of impact, the wind knocked out of her, bleeding from her wounds (her qi slowly shifting back to cover the damage as she lay on the ground, fighting to stay awake).
Her lips formed a tired half smile, as though laughing at herself in some form of half-madness and half disbelief, conciousness fading.
Okay, so, maybe not his equal
As she regained her breath, Delilah passed out.

He stood waiting and watching as she passed out. A small click of his tongue as he shook his head and sighed. Bending down to pick up his coat he slid it on. The weight for him was comfortable. He was more used to having it weighing him down than not by now.
"Well that was disappointing. She broke easier than I thought. Maybe I shouldn't have gone Ares on her."
He sighed again.
"At least she still has some spirit. There is potential at least. So it wasn't a total waste."
And he would head over and pick up Delilah, slinging her over his shoulder without a care to her injuries. Not his problem.
