Kiyr came to a stop beside Mathew. To her, it just made more sense for the Elder to pass judgement in his own way. She gave no hints to the girl, or Rai, simply waiting.

Rai would bow to his master as he and Kiyr approached, though other than that he wouldn't say or do anything until otherwise addressed.

He didn't respond to her greeting, though he did silently take note of how she did it. He listened to her list her reasons for wishing to enter their lands, and for most people they were not horrible reasons. But it was still lacking a very important element. To be brought to the Dragons a person needed to prove two things. The first was that they were not a threat to them. This girl seemed to fit that bill perfectly. The second however was that she was worth knowing. And that is what she needed to prove.
"Have you lost people to Barker? Family? Friends?"
The wheels in his head were spinning. He had a test in mind. He let the stone coiled around his body start to slide out of his sleeve. A stone blade with a dragon hilt slid out to his hand. Disconnecting from the stone as his hand grabbed the dagger.
"What would you do if you confronted Barker or one of the people that helped him? We don't offer free rides after all."

Arael took a small shaky breath, then answered the Earth dragon's first question. "I have lost my entire family to Barker. My parents, my sister, and my aunt and uncle, my whole family has been obliterated by him. My friends are here are dead, and there isn't anyone from where I came from. I have no-one left." "What would I do if I confronted Barker or someone working with him. Hmm." She chewed on her lip for a few moments before answering. "Well, I can assume that I would try to kill Barker, or whoever it was, but I know the extent of my abilities. I wouldn't last three seconds if Barker really wanted to kill me, and I don't expect that his minions are any more merciful." She answered thoughtfully.

OOC: (Sorry about the delay work has been kicking my ass)
IC: "I see."
He said slowly nodding. A lot of people had lost everything when the bombs dropped. One could say he had too, but he wouldn't ever look at it that way. He had himself, and he had Bastille. Everything else could be rebuilt, the rest was expendable. He offered the dagger to her, hilt first. Waiting for her to take it before he spoke again.
"You know a few years before the bombings Sean Barker ran a correctional facility. In this facility he did genetic tests on a lot of people. Some of them like myself were not even arrested but kidnapped."
He shook his head slowly, a small smile touching his lips. Nostalgic for the good old days.
"I was unique in that facility. I decided it was prudent to work with him rather than against him. And so I cooperated. My help might very well have made everything he has done possible. Including killing every single person you care about."
Of course it could have nothing to do with it.
"So here you are presented with someone who worked with him. Strike me down."
It was an order.

(OOC: No problem!)
Arael accepted the dagger that the Earth dragon presented her. It felt out of place in her hand, the dragon on the hilt seemed to be staring at her with empty eyes.
She soon forgot about the staring eyes as she listened to the Earth Dragon speak about his time in a correctional facility. After he had spoken the last sentence, Arael looked bewildered for a few moments until she had processed what the Dragon had said. When she did, her jaw clenched up and her eyes narrowed at him with a look of raging fury. "Yes Sir." She growled and without a second thought launched herself at Him!
In Arael's head, there was a small logical voice was telling her to be careful 'cause he was obviously much more experienced, but that voice was ignored as she got caught up in the fight.
With the dagger in her right hand, Arael slashed up at the Dragon's face, and quickly followed with a left jab into where his stomach would be after dodging the knife.

Kiyr's jaw slowly tightens as Mathew speaks, but she releases a very slow, very soft breath and strafes quickly to the side as Arael starts her charge, easily clearing the immediate area.
Though she suspected it would be over quickly, she would not interfere.

He didn't dodge the knife but instead slammed his foot on the ground to send a blunted pillar up at her. Aiming to slam it in to her exposed stomach before the blade could even connect to his flesh.
"Fight smarter. You saw me make the knife. You know the stone is mine to control. Barker and his freaks are not common thugs that you can fight in a blind fury."
His voice was calm as he slid back to put a bit of distance between him and the girl. Giving her a chance to recover, if she had been struck by the blow. He wasn't interested in crushing her yet. There was more to the test, and to the lesson. His eyes flickered to his apprentices. It was new information to them, he was curious to see how they handled it.
"Am I your enemy?"

Rai would just back up if he was in any position of getting in the way. He listened to Mathews tale and the question that followed.
No. Rai thought to himself, Leon was an experiment once too, and even if Mathew had resisted Barker, he would have gotten the same info. But the past didn't define a person the present did, and at present Mathew wasn't an enemy, at least not in Rai's eyes... yet.

Arael got hit alright. Exactly where the Dragon had aimed. She fell to the ground on her hands and knees gasping for breath. She listened to the Earth dragon as he spoke, berating herself for jumping in head first, literally. Arael took a few deep breaths. Her initial rage was gone, and now she was thinking clearly. She got back onto her feet, a little unsteady at first, but soon standing strong once again. Arael thought about what the dragon had said, and came to a quick conclusion. "No. You are not necessarily my enemy. Even though you may have worked with Barker in the past, your position as one of the leaders of the Dragons tells me that while you may not exactly hate Barker, you are still working to remove him from power. Since that is my goal as well, you are not necessarily my enemy. That is, until something happens to make us enemies." She said. Arael still wasn't sure if her answer was completely right, but it was too late now to take back what she had said. Now it was up to the Dragon once again.

Kiyr just levelled a steady look at Mathew as his eyes passed over her.
"If you were, I would not be sitting idly by."
Mathew may have helped Barker, but it was Barker's choice to follow through with worldwide destruction. Mathew had not given the orders, pulled the trigger, or pushed the button. That was on Barker. And other circumstances were not Mathew, either. Currently, he was not her enemy.

He smirked at the girl. Still not paying his apprentices any mind. He listened to the girl explain why she didn't think that he was her enemy. But he slowly shook his head. She made some points, but she wasn't thinking it through enough. It was a short sighted view.
"Having the same current goals does not rule me out from being your enemy."
He slammed his foot in to the ground again to send another pillar at her, this one aiming to slam in to her kneecap.
"And giving me time to act is foolish."

As Rai continued watching he remembered his first encounter with Mathew, the scar above his eye was a constant reminder...

Arael twisted to the side, barely avoiding the pillar of stone. Now that her rage had subsided, she was thinking a lot clearer that before.
Fight smarter. She thought to herself. For goodness sake! How do you fight a guy who can control the ground!
She gripped the hilt of the dagger a little tighter as she started circling the Earth dragon. After a few steps she twisted her body and threw the knife towards the Dragon. I hope the lessons pay off! Arael thought to herself. (While living in TX she learned how to use several weapons. The throwing knife was one of them along with a bow, a rifle, and a sword.) Her throw would just missed the Earth Dragon's throat. She didn't necessarily want to kill the man! Hoping he would be distracted by the knife, Arael followed it with a quick left feint to his head, then a right jab. After that she would try to step back.
