"Ohh... Close enough. You got the pretty eyes and adorable smile down pat. That enough would have won me over."
Delilah balked at such a statment, especially coming from...well, him. Her? 'Adorable smile'? 'Pretty eyes'? There was a better chance of becoming an Olympic swimmer than that, in her mind.
"Wha...I AM NOT."
A breeze carressed her face and trailed down her body and she lifted into the air with a quiet 'eep'. She tok David's hand eagerly, because falling was bad and if she had a fixed point of contact, she probably wouldn't plummet to her death. She forced herself to take a breath. Relax. Trust.
He floated alongside her and she remained...standing? Ish? She had no idea, floating was weird.
"So- tell me. How is everything?"
She moved her head from side to side as though to indicate 'some good, some bad'. "My team is doing well and the alliance is flourishing. I became a God not to long ago and Oliver is doing better. He's really taken to stealth. Otherwise, same old. Nothing really out of the ordinary."
She looked over at him, blue eyes bright with...interest.
"Your brother. Did you find him?"

Davids smile faded slowly.
"Not a whif. It's like he doesn't exist."
He would sit up, legs crossed. She would find a very stable, almost ground like pressure under her feet, where she could move freely, the wind simply hugging her body and following the command of her joints.
Of course, this would mean David could feel every curve of her body, and lets just say it wasn't nothing to turn your nose up at. He began to redden himself as he thought about it, Delilah probably feeling a slight carressing around her lower back and, perhaps the top of her bottom. He would shake his head and throw it from his mind- he wouldn't purposely violate her. No way. He cleared his throat.
"But.. Uh, I am looking. Mitsuki Park has joined up with me."

Her lips formed a thin line at the lack of information on his brother, truly sorry to hear. She gave his hand a squeeze and she tried to smile at him, reassuringly. "You'll find him. I know you will."
There was an odd sensation creeping over her back as she and David spoke. She was about to ask when it went away, suddenly. She shrugged; must have imagined it. What she didn't imagine was the redness in his cheeks and the cough that seemed to cover something. She fixed him with a stare and a lift of her brow, but said nothing,
"Did she?" Delilah mentioned as David brought up Mitsuki, "She came to see me a little while back. Asking us Crows about some things. Someone gave her the idea that I am the future of the 'allied forces'," she chuckled at the notion with a shake of her head. She continued to look at him though, concerned.
"And what are you doing, exactly?"

David would take a deep breath, looking suddenly very tired.
"I have killed many men. A few...hundred at least. Been mostly in Barkers territory, and luckily they haven't noticed me much."
He would float a bit closer to her.
"How have you been....coping?"

Delilah sympathized. Not only was killing physically hard labour, it also applied something of a mental strain. He looked how she felt, most days. That was one thing she liked about David, among many; he was easy to relate to. She stiffened slightly as he floated closer, trying to combat her own nervousness.
"How have you been...coping?"
She grimaced, looking as weary as he did after a moment. "I haven't been sleeping. Three or four hours here and there. 'Unfettered' is still missing and Kiyoshi is dead."
In other words, not well, and she knew it. Delilah bowed her head slightly, looking away. "I miss them."

David frowned.
"What do you mean, missing?"

She rolled her eyes and threw her hands up a little.
"I mean missing. No body, no trace, dead Barker soldier, just 'poof' gone. And no one knows anything about it. All I sort of know is that he's safe, but that's it and right now, that sounds like a pipe dream."
She let out a long shuddering breath and forced herself to calm. "Sorry. You didn't need to hear me be like that."

David smiled sadly.
"Delilah- I am a former leader of the Deagons. FORMER. Even then, I was first and foremost your friend. You can be any way you like. Seriously- you can tell me anything. I'll...um...show you how."
He would clear his throat.
"Lets have a game. I'll tell you something on my mind, and you reciprocate, K?"

She tilted her head a little again to look at him strangely. Why was he stumbling a little with his words? He had seemed content enough to tease the everloving hell out of her earlier; why would he seem so ill at ease now?
The corners of her lips pulled down slightly in worry. Dear God, she hoped it wasn't because of how she was acting, what with the blushing and the flustering (and the kissing) and that she was making him uncomfortable.
And now that they were playing this little game of reciprocation, she smiled at him softly, a little sadly.
"Okay. Me first. I'm worried I'm making you uncomfortable with...this." she emphasized the redness in her cheeks by gesturing to herself.

David frowned, then his eyebrows went up and he chuckled.
"Uncomfortable? Why would I be uncomfortable?"
He gave her a wink, blushing a little despite himself. He would float onto his back, a little giddy.
"My turn. I'm wondering what YOU mean by "all this". How about you tell me in perfect detail."
He grinned, putting her on the spot. He was confident he knew the answer but wanted to hear her interpretation.

She gave him a look that said 'you know very well what I mean, Blaze,' but she let it go. Delilah opened and closed her mouth a few times as she tried to find the right words to use.
"'THIS' means...well. My...reactions to you."
Which apparently means swooning like some Southern Belle.
SHUTUP.
"...Me acting like an idiot around you, in other words," She smiled a little, laughing a little dismally at herself. Ah-ha-ha-oooooh God.
"MYTURN. I'm wondering if you need any help finding your brother, and what I could do to help."
ARTFUL SUBJECT CHANGE. Bet he didn't even notice.

He watched her rather intuitively, answering her question easily.
"Nope. Don't need help. MY TURN AGAIN. Why would you act like an idiot? Do I...upset you in some way?"
Now he was just being mean. Playfully mean, but still- he would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy the blushing and girliness she was giving off. It was rare, and made him feel all... Fluttery inside.

...Nope, he noticed. Damn. And now he was dragging it ouuuutttaaaghhhh
She let out a quick burst of air to prepare herself. "No. You don't upset me. Quite the opposite, really. That in itself is upsetting, but that's not because of you, that's because of me."
It really was weird. She never felt the way she did about anyone before...except maybe..
No, she pushed the thought out of her mind with a small, inward sigh, willing herself to forget the little memory of when the school had collapsed from the Earthquake. You were never worthy of him then.
...and now, you're not worthy of this man, either.
"I'm not good at dealing with...girly stuff. And you make me feel giggly, sappy and insecure. That's what I mean by acting like an idiot.
"MY TURN AGAIN, SO, UH, If you don't need my help, why'd you hire on Mitsuki?"

"Didn't hire her, she insisted she come along. And what if I like you giggly, saply and insecure? If it helps ease they pain we can kiss some more."
He watched her evenly, seemingly not joking.
Oh goodness. David didn't know what was going on. Maybe it was the fight, but his overall confidence in this area was through the roof. Usually it was the last thing on his mind but, with her floating in the air next to him... Well, why couldn't he enjoy some things every now and again?

And the blush came back, her pale face a deep red high up on her cheeks and across the bridge of her nose, blue eyes wide again as her breath hitched in her throat. She forced herself to breathe, and returned his level look, serious.
"Well. We could. But I wonder what you think of me. I wonder if you care that I'm not really the kind of girl you write home about, or can introduce to mom and dad."
Her past said it all; child out of wedlock with the father no where to be found, a victim of rape, a murderer, an alcoholic (once upon a time, anyway) currently seeing a man on the side to prevent the future abuse of his victims....
No, she wasn't worthy of him. She was barely worthy of anyone. And the idea of that filled her with pain and some sorrow.
"I think you could do better than me," she said with quiet resignation.
