David watched her, a frown coming to his lips.
"Look- i'll be blunt."
He would wait for a nod or affirmative before continuing.
"Delilah- I don't have a home. Or parents. They are dead. I had no interest in being in a relationship- not right now. But whenever we are around each other, you make me happier. That's all I need to know if someone is good enough. It's not about whether they had a good childhood, made all the right decisions in their life or are stronger or weaker than me. Happiness is all I need."
He would float closer to her, so their knees were touching (assuming she is sitting, legs crossed), and take her hand.
"I don't want a girlfriend. Not yet. But i'm interested in Knowing more about you as a person. I want to share and spend time with you. If you are saying what I think you just said, you want it too. But I want to, if you do. And maybe... Well."
He stared at her a moment before reaching up with his free hand, leaning it, and kissing her again, more purposefully that before. It would be a smooth, quick one, a sort of promise to what might come. He would let her go and look her in the eye.
"I have to go. Think about it, and tell it to the sky when you are ready."
He would start lowering her to the ground after that, in order to let her make arangements if she wanted, or to think about it over time.

She listened to him in silence. How she was able to hear him over the blood rushing in her ears was strange, but all she could focus on now were the words coming out of his mouth. He...wanted her. As a...lover? Friends with benefits? A date? Something like that. Either way, it was more or less in line with what she found herself wanting with him. He...made her happy. Made her want to be a better person.
And he sensed that, perhaps, she didn't feel like she was ready, yet. Not for him.
But when he kissed her like that--oh, and there he went again, doing exactly that-- it made her yearn for it, something he could probably sense in the eager way she kissed him back. She hadn't really felt loved, or been held for a long time. She was still trying to get over Stu; and then there was Marcus and whatever residue she carried from that. And Cain...how would he feel about her arrangement with a rapist who had some strange semblance of admiration for her?
No. She needed to figure herself out, first. She wasn't ready, not yet.
As he lowered her to the ground, she would nod her head, biting her lower lip with a reluctant sigh. "I will think on it. I want this...but I don't think I'm ready, or worthy of you. Not yet.
"David."
She would look up at him from her spot on the ground and smiled sadly. "Don't wait for me, okay? Whatever happens, happens, and there will be no hard feelings from me."
The last thing she wanted was a repeat of what happened with Marcus. All she could do...was try.
"'Bye, Dave. Thanks for the lesson."

David stared for a long moment before smiling, if a little sadly, still calming himself from the kiss.
"We'll be seeing each other soon, i'm sure. Take care!"
And with that he would fly off into the sky.
