He gave his final orders to his partner and shared commander who would now be entrusted with the defense of their territories until Jack returned. Throwing a cloak over his shoulders to keep him warm Jack along with his guard and escort marched out toward the Paladin territory.

They would keep a steady pace until they reached the neutral territory between the two regions. Only then would they increase the pace to double or triple time. Having worked tirelessly to have his soldiers be able to run for hours at a time without tiring over the last few months they had quickly adapted to this sort of strain.

Once they approached what was understood to be Paladin territory the escort slowed down and came to a walk.

Five Dragon Guards would jump down standing in front of the gates to stop Jack from entering. They were pretty tough looking guys, but Jack would be able to make short work of them. How do I know this? Cause I've fought the kid before. He's good, strong and fast. One day he'd probably surpass me. But today, I had one up on him. But, I really liked the kid, so I hoped he wasn't here to fight.

"Easy guys. Jack's an old friend. I think he's here to see me."

I sat at the top of the wall looking down at Jack. What had I been doing up on the wall at this hour? Trying to get to know the Dragon Guards better. These guys were going to be my allies for god knows how long. I had to get to know these guys better and get along with them. I jumped down to stand with the rest of the Dragons.

"So you didn't just swing by to say hello did you?"

He had found through the hard way that manners usually was the best way to have something done with Shugo. He had a bit of a reputation for taking offense to the smallest of things.
