“How can I tell you that I’ve failed….”
A man stood alone in the middle of a ruined street. He clutched a parcel close to his chest as he starred mournfully at the sky. Letting out a deep sigh he continued on his path. The man appeared to be around his mid-thirties, he had long brown hair, dull grey eyes and a straggly beard. He was a giant of a man standing at six feet four inches and weighing well over two hundred pounds. He kept his head down careful not to make eye contact with anyone around him. He made it this far by playing it smart; he did not start fights or end them. He simply let them happen. He approached two small children camped by a burning pile of debris one boy and one girl. Their bright eye lit up and both of them rushed the man.
“Easy now easy” The man laughed as he unwrapped the parcel reviling it to be two small pieces of bread. The two children quickly inhaled the food, and looked up at the man smiling. He cracked a smile and walked away. He had been scavenging food for the kids, since he arrived into town five months ago. Their bright eyes reminded him of….
He wandered down a familiar ally, slowly sliding down the wall he pulled out a old rusted revolver. He rubbed the barrel on his temple his mind wandering into past thoughts. The city he lived in and the family he once loved.
CLICK….CLICK…
A familiar sound he knew all to well. He chuckled to himself as he placed the revolver back into his jacket pocket.
“It was worth a shot…hehe.”
